This really helped me so much. For years I've been using these with burners that were only two hours and water that wasn't hot. Totally changed everything. Thank you so much for this.
Very well done. Your directions and explanations are very easy to understand. Very well done production. Your mic well placed, it picked up your voice very clearly, without background interference. Nice cuts, not too many, only where necessary. Nice graphics. Just well done. Kudos. This coming from a video production guy who's done many of these types of productions.
Thanks so much for sharing this! I found a chafing dish at a thrift store and have been wanting to use it. Now that I've seen this, I feel safe trying it out, lol.

It would be nice if you could make a video on how to use the disposable chafing dish and the one from Sam's Club? Do all of the (Sterno) extinguish the same way? When I got mine from Sam's Club and I was looking over the contents of the box and it didn't come with any of those extra things the fuel goes in? Can you explain in more detail how you can either store or dispose of unwanted fuel that may or may not be used?
Can I use an aluminum pan for the food instead of the food pan it comes in? The food is being catered and I was hoping to just put the trays in the water pan
Thank you… Great video how many inches deep is the water pan that you put the hot water in? 4 inches or 5 inches… I lost one of mine in my attic and need to re-order
An impressive video, I simply given this onto a colleague who was doing a bit analysis on this. And he in actual fact bought me breakfast as a result of I discovered it for him.. smile. So let me reword that: Thnx for the treat! But yeah Thnkx for spending the time to discuss this, I really feel strongly about it and love reading extra on this topic. If potential, as you turn into expertise, would you thoughts updating your video with more details? It is extremely useful for me. Large thumb up for this youtube channel post!
Yes you can, just allow time for the water to heat up before putting your food trays in. I did a bbq at the weekend for 50+ in a barn and filled a garden watering can from a hot tap in a sink and used that, the water was boiling away in no time, then I just used the damper on the fuel tins to reduce the heat, kept the burgers, sausages and onions nice and hot during service.
This is the demonstration I've been looking for. Excellent. Everything is clear. Thanks for sharing
Well illustrated. Thank you for helping me set up.

So was I lol
Stupid question...does the water have to touch the food pan?
Water doesn't have to touch the food pan. It's more of a steam thing warming the food pan from underneath.
Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing this video, very helpful and easy to follow instructions.

Hi,
How long can a chafing dish stay warm for its foods? Does that depend on the duration of the Sterno safe heat? i.e. 4 hours?
+michael sapolu
3 hours on average per burner
