I copied this nearly to a tee for a family get-together for my son and his fiancée. I did a rustic style using iron skillets and Dutch ovens but the set up was identical to yours. It was so well balanced and beautiful. So many compliments!! Thanks Nikki. I wish I could share a pic.
Thank you so much. Christmas is only family so it is very laid back. It is set up buffet style so everyone gets their plates and eat wherever they want in the house. Some at the kitchen table, some in the den, some in the sitting room. We don't do a formal sit down. I just like having Christmas music throught the house and lettiing everyone eat when they want and where they want. Works out so great and is so relaxed.

Beautiful!! Tip for those who may not know, if you want a table cloth that is wider than the normal 60", Use the technique that most Drapery workrooms use. When making drapes other than the length, they ask how many widths would you like? That's just the long way of saying sew two widths together and you will have a table drape. :) My two cents :)

I LOVE this video. I have about 2-3 big buffets a day (30-40 people) I'm a Nova Scotian mom of 6 and we have a big BIG extended family so we all take turns hosting. you set up looks so classy and fancy with the boxes under the tablecloth to layer the spread. geesh I never thought of doing that! also the chalkboard sign!!!! OMGOODNESS I and totally going to do this. thank you for sharing. :-)
Aww..Thank you so much! I believe the width was 55 inches. My chafing dishes don't use cords (which is great). The smaller ones are easy with tealights. The larger two and the mid sized ones in the back uses the sternils to burn. Hope you have a wonderful week.

So, this video is about 5.5 years as of now, and it is still the best "How to set up a buffet," video I've seen by far. Not only are your ideas super fabulous, I love the way you explain things. I am going to do this for a friend's wedding (in her peacock color scheme). She's having a reception for 60 guests. Hi Diane. The the plug is hidden in the rug. If you look close you will see that my rug has a bit of a shag style to it. It allows me to easily hide the cord in the shag. It takes some creative hiding methods but works everytime :). I will ry to do a video on it next holiday season. So glad you liked. Thanks so much.
