I gotta tell ya....I saw this a few weeks ago and still went with a 3d printed mount (I'll leave the brand alone) and honestly the clip slide was so loose I didn't trust it even walking around the house. I opted to order the ruroc mount to go clipless and the first thing after letting it cure, the weight of the gopro started pulling the tape off. Searched and found your video again and have some 4991 on the way! Thanks!
Yea I peeled off the stock 3M tape and put my own in there. Never been an issue since. I did have the clip part start to break a bit and super glued the crap out of it and it’s held. It’s a little overpriced for what you get. I’d probably do chin mounts if I had to do it again. Great video and looks like we share a like mind haha.
@@Eric_in_VA I had trouble finding a small roll for my project and ended up ordering from Walmart online. They have a 1" x 5yd roll for $31 which fit my budget way better.
Ruroc must have listened to you, as I purchased the cam mount (Nov 2023) and can confirm 3M tape is now being used on the mount.
That's good to hear! The flimsy camper tape stuff they used before wasn't cutting it, for sure!

Thanks for the info! Was getting ready to purchase a chinmounts and read where they were coming loose. This tape will be a great replacement.
Absolutely! I wish more camera mounts used this stuff, it's really strong ✌
Nice one
great info and chasing . enjoy the day
This is a HUGE help to me as my Chin Mount adhesive gave up the ghost and I had no clue what adhesive to oder. Thank you!
Absolutely! The 4991 is super strong, especially with a little heat on application 👍
@@Skipshift Do you have a link for the 4991, Amazon has huge rolls for big $$

I had bought one and stuck it on proper but one month it comes off, contemplating just gluing it straight on
That is definitely an option. I wanted to keep it removable in case I had issues with the helmet or if I wanted to go with a standard GoPro mount.
