    Hi! Child Passenger Safety Technician here to answer some of your questions and provide some tips.
    - In regards to the differences between the two bases, the RELX base features the post-installation recline adjustment like you mentioned, as well as an improved load leg that works in more vehicles, an improved belt path, and an anti-rebound plate. It is also adjustable front to back, so you'll want to push your base in towards the seat until you hear it click again at least once to get a better fit.
    - The Model Y requires that the seatback be in the most upright position when used with a child restraint.
    - The load leg should be as perpendicular to the floor as possible and extended the least amount until the indicator turns green. You'll want to make sure the load leg isn't pushing the front of the base up.
    I hope this is helpful in keeping your little one safe!

      does the base (that comes with the Pipa carseat) works for tesla Y or you have to purchase the RELX base. I am still confused. Thank you!!

      @@yuqiliu5845 There are several versions in the Pipa line of car seats. Some come with the original base and some come with the RELX base. Each base can also be purchased separately and they are all compatible with each other. I can't say for sure whether the original base will or will not work in this vehicle, but the RELX base does offer greater flexibility in recline angle and therefore should offer compatibility with more vehicles than the original base does. The original base only offers two different recline positions, and therefore can be problematic on very sloped seats. I hope this helps!

      Thank you so much! Super insightful. Luckily we've left the seat back in the most upright position :)

      @@yuqiliu5845 I would imagine the standard pipa base would work too, but I will say the Model Y back seat is not super flat. I'm not sure how difficult the "bubble leveling" would be. But I think given the tips above, with the back seat in the most upright position should help ensure base is flat and load leg is perpendicular.

    Hey brother make sure you push that base back hard after you clip the latches in. It has to be tight against the seat back 👍

    Hi there! I have a strange but serious question. We just got our Nuna Pipa Light RX delivered to our house. After opening the box, we noticed that there was an dreadful smell radiating from the package / car seat. It almost smelled like garlic or a mixture of garlic and plastic. Do you know of anyone else having this same experience with the newly opened car seat box from Nuna? Or is this something we need to be concerned about. Thanks!

    Why is this installation in a Tesla model y so difficult? It’s definitely not a simple push and click like you showed.

    Great video.
    You mentioned that you prefer having the car seat in the center. Considering Pipa lite Rx also has seatbelt attachment, did you try it without the base using the seat belt attachment? (Not recommending, since I am not sure how safe it is). Just curious, since we also have a Model Y (with white seats) 😀

      Hey man, yeah we did try it actually. The middle seat in the Model Y is pretty narrow, and not super flat. So without the base, it did work.. but I probably wouldn't use it full time. When we used it, we had our friends baby in the middle for a very short ride.

      Thanks Alex! The whites seats have held up so far, luckily no throw up or big messes in car, yet :) but in the off chance it dose happen we did purchase a car seat protector: a.co/d/fLGjyw7
      Super cheap, and worked great in the model y while using latch.

    Struggling to get the base in

      @FerrersInFlight  Рік тому

      We did too initially -_- Make sure the latch points are completely.. extended? It'll make it easier to attach. Then you basically shove the base towards the seat back, and the latch point slack will click and base should be tight against seat back.
