Continuing on with the Jeep Wrangler LS Swap! In the last video, i got the engine mounted in the Jeep and progress is continuing!
Its time to take a look at the other half of the Advance Adapters Jeep TJ Adapter kit.
We previously installed the adapter on the GM 4l60e transmission, allowing the TJ Transfercase to bolt up. However we have to change out the tcase input shaft in order for the two to mate up and work together.
Since im tearing the transfer case apart... Its a great time to add a Slip Yoke Eliminator from Advance Adapters as well. Most of you TJ owners know that a SYE is a much needed upgrade after a lift kit. It gives us a better driveshaft angle, the ability to run a stronger driveshaft, and can help keep vibration from occurring. Advance Adapters sends out great instructions for both kits, so i felt a step by step tutorial wasn't needed. With both of these installed, my transfercase is good to go for the LS swap!
Next up we take a look at the standalone wiring harness and ECM. Since posting this video, i have decided to change up the plans and run the Holley Terminator X Max kit. I will talk about that in the future video. The cheap Ebay standalone setup is a good budget friendly setup, however the Holley kit will offer more performance and is more geared towards my swap.
Thanks for watching, and i promise we are close to the end of the swap! A test fire video is shortly approaching!
Until then... The LS Swap never ends

Get a Woody's! Tom Woods makes the best!
Ben you definitely won the wife jackpot...😋
you guys are amazing. I was a nuclear mechanic in the US Navy. I pulled apart submarine main engines and turbine generators and you guys are super brave with all your rebuilding skills. Kudos
Of course Ben's always drinking beer. It's what sailors do best.
Yall are back. Thank God 2021 was starting to suck.
8:55 DEAD SERIOUS - as soon as you connected those wires, a breaker blew and my computer shut off. Just about had a heart attack, haha!
So glad to see my favorite Jeep couple, been missing y'all
Those Atturo boss blade tires were slaying KOH this year. Excited to see your review on them...and hear the engine roar of course lol.
This video is very timely for me. I found a clean 2005 LJ for my son that I will most likely close on in a couple days. The one thing I regretted on my old 1997 TJ was that I never got rid of the slip yoke. This will probably be one of the first father son projects on this LJ. Good learning opportunity.
About time we see a video!!! I’ve been waiting for more engine swap content!!! Yesss!!!
Those things are BIG
Been waiting for this one. Thank you!
Good to see you 2 back.
Great video always look forward to see your progress.
Y'all are great, always make me smile. Thank you
Well it is good to see to you guys back in action!!
Awesome that you can share this passion together.
Love your work, can't wait to see you send this beast up the track...
Beer ben! Glad to have you back. Good vid!
You and Ben make great videos. Always look forward to your videos. Keep it up.
Can’t wait to hear it running
It coming along and looking great
You two just freaking rock ...
I love watching videos showing a lady that knows what she is doing!!
At 17 I went to pick up a girl for a date. She couldn't go because she was rebuilding the heads on her dad's split bumper camaro with a built 427!! You go girl!!! You are a inspiration for my granddaughter!!!!!!
Oooooo sorry you got turned down for a date. Atleast she had a pretty reasonable excuse. Lol.
Been missing y’all!!! 🤗❤️🐞
Love this woman. Not afraid to get dirty and welds too.
Just a tip for removing studs , try locking two nuts together on the stud and unscrewing it .
I installed the AA SYE in my transfer case last year, I was very impressed with the quality.
The jeeps lookin good cassie.. the motor just sitting there to me just looks factory. You guys done a really good job on it.. cant wait to hear the thing fire up....
Awesome Video.
Good you guys are alive. It's been a while, I was starting to get concerned.
Super progress, can't wait for the first fire up. BTW, you don't need a tummy tuck, you look fabulous.....oh the Jeep? Anyways, glad you guys are back!
The jeeps lookin good cassie.. the motor just sitting there to me just looks like its ment.to be.there... You guys done a really good job on it.. cant wait to hear the thing fire up....
I never plan to replace my 4.0 strait six in my 2006 Rubicon, but it is really cool to see how an engine swap is done. You guys do really instructive videos. I have only had my jeep for two years since I moved to southern Nevada, and I have learned a lot from you. Thanks!!!
Cassie I like how you get your hands dirty, doing a lot of your own work!!🤙😊
Love the videos! Too awesome that you and your husband love Jeeps together! My wife tolerates my Jeep passion and she is kind of getting the itch but not to the point where she wants to get her hands dirty much haha keep it up!
nice work ..looking good
Another thing to note is that the rubicon models don’t have a slip yoke in the first place.
Welcome back! Glad to see Ben doing a beer since I'm sucking back a G&T 😜
Much easier way to get those studs out, double the nuts on the stud and take them out.
your Native/American nickname would be " Welds in Yoga Britches " 😁😁
🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎🤎
@@hivoltagedriver or " Dances with Horsepower " 😁
I drove a 96 XJ for years with a 5.5 longarm RE kit on it and no SYE or shims. Never had a problem until I hit a whoop coming off a highway ramp the driveshaft slipped out of the T-case. Talk about scared, it sounded like a shotgun in the cab. The driveshaft hit the tunnel and opened it up. I'd heard of cars flipping if the driveshaft his the gruond but I guess I had too much lift and tires for that to happen. I shimmed the axle the next day and eventually sold the jeep. Never installed a SYE.
YOURE BACK!!!
Happy to be back!! Was waiting on parts and work got crazy, but I am back at it and the LS swap should be complete SOON!
@@JeepGearGadgets missed seeing you and Ben but glad to see you guys back! hopefully your family is staying safe!
very nice video i like it keep on;)
Omg 😃 about time
Love your videos Cassie. Soo informative! Where did u learn all that stuff about engines?
Oh, and yes, all your husband does is drink beer. 😂😂
OOOOH Olight Seeker Pro 2 for the win!
I see that Ben has his Hemi in (pic on Instagram). I’m really excited for the both of you.
M18 Milwaukee impact is a beast!
Had the same issue removing the transfer case studs. My solution was to put two nuts on the stud, tighten them together, then remove the stud by turning the inner nut. It will continue to tighten against the outer nut until the thread locker breaks. Your way is great, but I don’t have a welder. Tip to others I guess....
Yes. Another good way to do it!!
Usually you and double nut the studs and unscrew them
Definitely need to get rid of that stock skid plate. Looking good so far!
Use 2 nuts locked together on a stud to remove it easily without damaging it. They also make special tools but the just a minute nuts work well enough.
Thanks for showing this TC. (Opinion only): I now would go with their Atlas TC, the factory with planetary gears and chain, is a no go.
Aug 2020-When you recorded this video. So far you have almost spent a full year on this swap.
It hasn’t been close to a year
The 4.0 was removed 53 days ago.
look forward to when you get back to this project! Sorry to hear about the crazy golf cart damage to your brand new car :(
6:11 One day I will weld while wearing my PJs... First, I have to learn how to weld!!!! Hahaha Great job; Thumbs way up!!!
Love the channel, I am a new Jeep owner and is great to see all the crazy stuff. Pretty sure I worked with Ben back.in the day.
I know this is a late reply, but Ben and I were talking about old stories and he brought your name up. Hope your doing well, and Ben says hi!
@@JeepGearGadgets I am doing well, I miss some of the old days. You guys are awesome to watch on your channels. And I love my Jeep.
I was having PTSD flashbacks watching this when I had to do the input shaft when I did a doubler on my TJ. I sacrificed a 231 from an earlier XJ to make the gear reduction box so I had to get a new input shaft (Novak was mega helpful with that)
Nice!!
It's been two weeks two long waiting for that new video
Makes me wanna work in my garage 😅
Should have done a 2 low kit while you had it aprt. I love mine, its very helpful if you use 4 low at all.
Great video Cassie the swap is coming along nicely. It's funny to me that a video showing you working hard doing an engine swap gets comments about how to say VIN or VIN number. What a douche! Ya'll will have that thing fired up in no time. Keep Jeeping Classy Cassie, looking forward to the next one.
What long wait for that Video
Nice harness! Who did the reflash?
Cassies engine bay welding pants!😂😂😂😂
That shirt 😍
She totally knows what she’s doing ;)
You guys do an awesome job. keep it up! LS Swap the world!
Wouldn't put that junk in my cj7. Funny watching the wannabe mechanics.
@@waltmoore3095 Who peed in your cheerios? You can go ahead and keep your bad ass 150hp 304 or super duper 258.
The whole front of the jeep is still taken apart so it’s good thing you have another vehicle
Just got the tracking info on my sye.
Whatever happened with the torque converter, did it mess up your trans
If you're ordering from ADAMS ask for Jeff to build your shafts ;)
Did you HAVE to change your drive shafts? Or did you guys do it just cause?
You have to upload much more frequently. Where’s the complete review on the Atturo’s. I’ve been running the Trail Blade MTs forever, love them!
Would this swap work the same on a 1988 xj with 5-speed manual?
What are you doing different to get your Jeep Registered in TX? Will this not be Tagged and Street Legal anymore?
the cable assembly has some technical name???
Lights....Camera...Action. HAHAHAHA Ben is a dork. LOL
Did you or could you do an update video on that double din cheaper radio you installed. Did you have any problems with it/did it hold up and still work right. Thank you.
I’ll be sure to mention it in one of my next videos, but yes! Still working right and have had 0 issues so far! No freezing or touch screen glitches or anything. Definitely recommend!
I have a 2006 LJ and considering an engine swap. Anxious to see your total LS swap project cost. I believe you had a $5K budget? Right now I'm leaning towards a Newcomer Racing 258 I6 stroker engine. They're making 300hp with their base NA engine.
Finally. Geez way to keep us all waiting for the next vid. Not sure if I even want to watch it. Cause then I’ll need to wait again. 😤😤😤
I know, I’m so sorry, work got crazy. no excuses😭
No sorry needed. We all have lives happening. I found you two on UA-cam right after you left here. (Alaska). Would have wheeled with you. Been watching ever since.
Is that a vape you’re smokin at 12:12? lol
he almost choked 😂,, i do vape and i I hate being filmed while doing it so I understand his feeling when she turned the camera.
where you get all those parts
Tom Woods!
Do you have the link to the "affordable" wireing harness??
They are all over eBay, but keep in mind you will need a gm computer, gas pedal and tac module, and it doesn’t have provisions for The Evap system so it won’t be fully emission legal. www.ebay.com/itm/Standalone-Wiring-Harness-For-03-07-Cadillac-LS-Vortec-4L60E-4-8-5-3-6-0-Multec-/114287920953?_trksid=p2349624.m46890.l49292
How are you going to get the terminator x max to work with the transfer case vss?
It won’t work with the tcase vss. It will work with the advanced adapters vss that I installed
It's time to quit, Ben's out of beer.
You're gonna like Driving the Jeep a lot more with V8 power. In my opinion they should have come this way from the factory.
The 4.0 does fine with a manual but with an auto it’s pathetic
What type of bumper do you have installed on your Lj?
It’s from genright
Why didn't you get a 4:1 low range reduction for the T-case?
I think teraflex is the only one who made that kit, not even sure if it’s available anymore. It had some issues
There was only one left in the nation and I installed it in a build at work
Now that you've got the sye are you planning on doing a tummy tuck? If you say that in the video ignore me I haven't gotten through yet 😂
So you're planning on doing the tummy tuck later you said, wouldn't that mean you'd need to order another custom driveshaft once that's done?
So sexy- the LS that is. I want to LS swap my Chevy 2500hd
Yes LS everything hahahaha
Wait...doesn’t it already have one?
@@ivanfromtheeast4709 Vortech V8 small block 350 in my 04 Chevy 2500hd
Why not use the front 1/2 of a Chevy case? This would have given the correct spline count, add the six planetary gear, and eliminate some of the AA length and cost.
That’s another good option, however you’ll have to figure out another way to get the VSS for the Gm computer. The AA adapter gives us that spot for a sensor, whereas the front half of a Chevy tcase wouldn’t have that option.
Hold the phone, is the a YesWelder?....
Good to see you guys are still upright and alive!
hot girl, yoda pants, jeeps, LS motors.... didnt think porn was allowed on youtube lol, love your videos...
"What's going on guys"
It's just VIN. Not VIN number.
You are right, technically the n stands for number, no need to say number after VIN
From the Department of Redundancy Department. 😂
This sort of pedantry makes me want to go down the street to get some cash by punching my PIN number into the ATM machine - you know, the one that has an LCD display and runs on AC current? I might take that cash, grab a snack, and have the cashier scan the UPC code to ring it up - but I think It would better for me to go right over to my broker and have them deposit it in my IRA account...
Well at least you didn't gloss over the transmission mounting to the engine mistake from the last video - you simply ignored it. I suppose nobody who is watching this is doing so as a "how to" source, but it would have been appropriate to at least acknowledge you made a mistake and maybe even thank the commenters who saved you from destroying the trans (possibly) had you tried to drive the way it was. Oh well its You Tube. Viewer beware. And I can't say I am a fan of buying parts that are obvious rip offs of someone else's product. That doesn't sit well with me, but that is just me. I guess anything goes when it comes to saving a buck. (Which is why we don't make much of anything in this country anymore.)
It will be addressed in a future video. We all make mistakes. Thanks.
Getting famous off of comments day 256, so I can live the dream, live every day like it’s your last🤙
