Fiona is an incredibly insightful, kind, and a great storyteller. This explains why she is such an amazing actress- she is incredibly insightful and sensitive. Just a great lady. I have somehow become more of a fan 30 years later.
Loved this interview and cancer does suck it took my mom from me and I'm a two time survivor myself who just got diagnosed once more with a different type of cancer this time. I have always loved Fiona as Jenna on GL and I'll never forget watching Buzz and Jenna together.
Thank you so much for this interview! Fiona was amazing on both One Life To Live and Guiding Light. I would rush home from college classes to watch her second stint on GL daily! A true beauty as well as gracious lady. Thank you thank you thank you!!!
Another really insightful interview, Alan. I loved Fiona's characters on both OLTL and GL. She's a very gifted actress! I had no idea she had the ability to be such an engaging storyteller. I'd love to see how on daytime television again. Many thanks to you and Fiona 🙏
Yes another great one but benjamin you missed Fiona's first run as Gabrielle and she was great then too. And benjamin Fiona never got nominated for an Emmy and nether did Andrea for the Micheal grande storyline and that storyline played out for over a year unfortunately Andrea would be gone 6months into it. But both deserved Emmy nods for that and so did Brenda Brock and Micheal Palance. So benjamin when you have time go and watch the episodes around September of 1989 when Gabrielle risked her life and got beat up by Micheal grande who was played by Dennis perlato that same actor who subbed for Micheal zaslow at guiding light when Micheal zaslow got sick. With Als. And again I am not going to get into the dumb decision by p and g and Megan McTavish and others to not let Paul Rauch wrote Micheal back in as Roger with Als. And by the way that's not the first time that happened to Paul Rauch. It happened to him and harding Lemay at another world around 1976 or 1977. When Doug Marland was there as one of the writers. I what would have been the first gay charecter storyline but NBC shot it down. But from the ashes of that sadly abandoned storyline 10 years later we got on atwt the hank Elliot storyline. In 1988 into 1989. Either of way there are to many losses this year for daytime. I mean John Aniston died to last November who is Jenifer Anistons dad and where she got her comidic genes from. Liz Hubbard, marmie shulenberg, Andrea Evans. Just too many.
Thoroughly enjoyed this interview! She is a delight. Loved her work on One Life to Live and Guiding Light. Appreciate you getting so many beloved daytime people (actors, producers, writers, and the link) to share their insights.
Alan, thank you very much for giving us this wonderful interview with Ms. Hutchison. I’m glad to hear her say that the character of Gabrielle will always have a special place in her heart. Thank you for this.
Great interview! Loved her as Jenna Bradshaw. She had great chemistry with Justin Deas, they were electric together. That scene when Jenna died and she told Buzz to take care of her babies was just heartbreaking! I mean Buzz had two heartbreaks first with Nadine's death then Jenna's, I said how much more can this man take! Her and Michael Zaslow's Roger we're great together as well. I loved the relationship she had with Henry and Vanessa. It was great to see Fiona again and I think she would be a great addition to any of the remaining soaps. Another great one Alan and thank you for what you do!
Tina and Gabrielle were my girls!!! I loved all their shenanigans together and separate! Fiona was a very engaging actress. Watched her stints in both Llanview and Springfield and she was sexy FIRE!
What a WONDERFUL interview!☺️ Oh my goodness Fiona Hutchinson is an absolute lovely woman!! Thank you so much for doing this interview and sharing her with us fans.☺️
Thanks again Alan, remember her days as "Jenna" on GL and her and the late great Michael Zaslow having scenes, also thought she was a good match with "Buzz Cooper" Justin Deas also and yes Allison Janney was hilarious as "Ginger" the maid...
Another amazing interview Alan! Fiona seems like a very real, honest person and a great friend. Love her easy way of telling stories...didn't even seem like an interview...just a chat between old friends. How extraordinary that you're still friends with all of these amazing people! Great stuff! How about a Fiona and Justin Deas cocktail hour session some day? I'm sure there would be a lot of spicy stories to share.
36:42 wow she is breathtakingly beautiful in this picture. I lived for Gabrielle Medina lol, she was everything! 😅Fiona is my daytime soaps queen 🤴. So lovely to listen to her share some fond memories of her time at OLTL.
A great interview Alan once again and I watched her interview last week with Micheal fairman also. And what a great person Fiona is too. And others mentioned during the live chat how Fiona was robbed of an Emmy at gl. But I think she and Andrea both deserved emmys for the Micheal grande story with Dennis perlato. Along with Brenda Brock and Micheal Palance. And Alan I am talking about Fiona performance as Gabrielle with Andrea when Gabrielle got beat up by Micheal grande to protect Steven Jr who Micheal grande stole from Brenda and was max holdens nephew. That played out over a year. As for Paul Rauch it's funny how he would say it's the actors job to deliver the lines as written but then love it when Bob woods and Phil Carey and Clint Ritchie would change lines around and improvise or Andrea would do the same thing. I think he just did not like nonsense. And just wanted every show he worked on to be the best they could be I mean he liked Micheal zaslow on both oltl and guiding light and he liked grant Alexander. And Fiona.
Fiona's interviews always entertain me. So great at expressing herself and always bloody right! I didn't know Gabrielle, but I absolutely loved her as Jenna Bradshaw! I LOVED her first GL storyline with the phenomenal Beth Ehlers (my personal fave) and the irresistible Mark Derwin. That story had romance, sexiness, suspense, and comedy. The young rookie inlove with her instructor/detective pretending to be charmed with the glamorous jewelry thief was a gloriously fun story. Jerry verDorne in the mix was icing on the cake. They all had me in stitches most of the time. Great time for Guiding Light when thieving Jenna came waltzing in. P.S. Sorry for Fiona's loss. I mostly know Andrea Evan's work on Passions and she was riveting.
She was great in her first run as Gabrielle and I was glad guiding light hired her. And like I shared Fiona deserved to be nominated and win an Emmy for her performance in risking her life to save Steven Jr in the Micheal grande storyline. And yes it is up on you tube still and aired in September 1989.
@gabrielstern4992 I honestly don't believe winning an Emmy proves you're the best anything. Base on my non-showbusiness mind, it's a big sham and the biggest fake news there ever was.
@@bewyp8188 I kind of agree I was just pointing that out because their is, so much talent out there and Fiona is one of them. And it's not just daytime either music too. And Grammys are out of touch too. I mean bands like iron maiden and early yes and genesis and Ronnie James dio work whether his solo stuff or work with rainbow have influenced countless musicians who play all forms of music yet never really got recognized. Or even judas priest with Rob Halford And ronnie died of liver cancer. And iron maidens singer Bruce Dickenson had a bout with oral cancer in 2015 and he never smoked. Either way Fiona deserved more and so did Andrea concerning the daytime emmys. As Andrea especially along with Fiona were the epitome of how to play charecters that had flaws and did not so great things at times but often did them because they just wanted love. Or were in thier own way trying to protect those they loved.
Cancer definitely sucks. It took my mother many years ago and other family members. Fiona still looks the same, always loved her accent. Watched her on GL. Loved her relationship with Henry. Loved Andrea, RIP on Y&R & B&B she was a great actress. Never saw them on OLTL. Although I did watch that show back when Vicki , Nicki, Joe ,Vince, Carla, Price & Ed were on. I really loved the show but my CBS soaps won out because I grew up on them and they were on the same time. I never figured out how to set my VCR correctly.🤔😊I tried watching 2 sets at once but it got to be too much. 😆
Alan, Fiona Hutchinson is an absolute beauty, especially with the formal gowns she wore on Guiding Light, especially if they had long black satin gloves. 😍😍😍
Interesting interview. It doesn't seem Ms. Hutchinson knows she's a daytime powerhouse herself. Her performance as Gabrielle was iconic. She was embraced from her first appearance, and just became part of the family.
Alan don't worry about the comment about Fiona. Concerning oltl. And I will say this I hated it too when during her second run they killed Jenna. Too. But for me I was most angry when Nadine was killed off. Because I loved Jean carol once they gave her buzz and got her out of Billy and vanassas orbit. And concerning Fiona and Jenna I enjoyed her second run very much. And bieng there for buzz. And playing a much more mature Jenna. Anyway Alan I suggest you look at fionas work for her first run as Gabrielle especially the period from may 1989 up until Andrea left and Gabrielle risking her life and getting beat up to protect a stolen baby. And I had forgotten about that for many years until I watched it again a few months back thinking for some reason about Andrea.
Alan, it seems like you are not familiar with Fiona’s work at all! You clearly don’t know her characters, and the impact that the characters had in these shows. Your questions are exclusively about other actors that she worked with. “What’s it like to work with-- fill in the blank.” Ummm…
Trent -- I am sorry you feel that way. I did not watch OLTL, but I grew up on Guiding Light and ran the PR department. I certainly know all about our Jenna. Thank you for watching.
Fiona tells amazing stories could listen to her all day she knows all the good gossip and behind the scenes tea !
and with that accent -- I could listen all day long. Thank you for watching.

Me too, Jimmie. I"m so happy to hear you enjoyed it. Thank you for watching.
The best interview of this series!!
Glad you enjoyed it, Patrick!
Oh, Fiona/Gabrielle/Jenna! Wow. Just hearing your voice makes me smile. Takes me back to being a teenager immediately, 1987. Good Times.
Love that, Cid. Glad you enjoyed.
