The good acting here is that you can see the self deception behind his ‘grief’. He whips himself up into a fury, then crawls back into a pit of self pity, thereby justifying his actions against you. He is a person who views others as tools, and faking empathy for these tools is the best way to get more of them.
Seeing this unbreakable leader type break down into tears over his lost family really hits you the first time around. Despite the silent protagonist, the story is truly excellent because of moments like these. They’re getting better with the villains every time, and I can’t wait for far cry 6
I forgot the entire story 10 minutes after I played it. Idk what you smoked before you played Far Cry 5 but I want some because that was by far the worst story they've done yet. About to finish the game now, and I am very impressed. Very rarely in a video game have I seen what I thought was a cold hearted antagonist show true remorse and sadness in addition to confusion and a pinch of regret. Greg Bryk is a very good actor and did a great job
In the end, he was just trying to prepare Hope county for the apocalypse. Cull the weaks because they won’t survive the wasteland and would turn insane or consume most of the rations after the bombs fell. Training his cult followers so they can learn to fight when human become savages again in the wasteland. They would fend off those who steal their foods and lands. Faith would have given them hope. Their faith in the Father would have kept order.

Didn't feel bad for him at all. Especially not after he somehow managed to capture all of my friends at once even though I decimated his militia and wiped out their leaders. However, it was very well animated and an impressive performance by the voice actor and motion capture actor.
The rest of the game is ehh in my opinion, but I gotta give it to them, they do always have one scene in every Farcry game that I remember. This was Farcry 5's
