On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.

Good point I didn't even think of that at first. No wonder stealth airstrikes are often always "go it alone" mission.
They'd also never be "escorted" by anything. B-2's way stealthier than even the F-22 so escorting them is just asking to get shot down.
I used to see B2's all the time when I was flying near Whiteman, they're so cool when you see them in the air with you. Nothing quite as intimidating as hearing "Death 1-2, traffic 12 O'clock, 5 miles, opposite direction, 3,000, Cessna 172" over ATC, then seeing one of those guys pass 1,000 feet above you.
Their callsigns were just death 😂

F35 isnt combat tested thats why you use F22 on American side.

It's highly classified, so we would never be able to see what it can do. At least until the generation 6 fighters roll out in 1 year
loss of a b2 is pretty heavy, but losing 2 su-35s, 2 su-57s, an AWACS, an "important dude" and an air base is a pretty heavy loss too
It's only two guys, and they can eject. I'm sure they're hankering to get into the seats of a B-21 Raider after this.

Losing a 2 billion dollar airplane is not lighter than then 2 mass produced fighters and a pair of SU-57s. Especially when the B2 can’t be replaced.
In reality this would be a disastrous outcome for the US all that will matter is that a B2 was shot down by an SU35. But obviously in reality they'd never send 3 B2s escorted by just a single raptor
@@ahmadrefaat3460 Definitely. There's be at least a couple more and it'd make more sense to me for the Raptors to be out ahead to intercept whatever gets airborne with the objective to down them before they can even think about targeting the B-2s.

That WWI / WWII experience is showing, when you target a specific part of the plane with guns. Great mission, great video! I shudder to think what that 2nd AWACS was feeling, watching your buddy get shot down on takeoff and watching your base explode during taxi, knowing that there's an F-22 lurking in the bushes but needing to get airborne. No good options for that guy.
Only option probably would be to wag the wingtips to indicate surrender and power down the array.

It’s not meant to fight like a raptor. The f35 is a super computer with the aerobatics of a f16. But he did it already
I don’t get it. You want a multi role plane fight against air superiority aircraft? F35 was never intended to spearhead any invasions on its own. It’s a part of integrated system that relies on many different platforms to do its job.

This has got to be the most perfect flight sim video I've ever seen. First clicked 'like' just because of the title, stealth absolutely everywhere, and then it seems watched an action movie made with such attention to detail and perfect timings. Best time spent on Tube. 5/5
The tough thing about DCS is that they're not able to model the B-2's TS defensive capabilities accurately (well, at all). Plane wouldn't have gone down like that.
So I'm watching this with my 9-week old son on my lap, right? He's focused on the screen and cries every time I move in such a way that means he can't see. Then when you picked off the AWACS he was making happy cooing noises.

Imagine if in Top Gun Maverick the Air Force had taken the mission instead of the Navy. Would’ve gone so much differently.
That was fun to watch! I like the objective type missions and seeing the strategies used.
Interesting mission set-up. I know. You're going after the entertainment factor. The B-2 has a Radar Cross Section (RCS) of about 1.1 sq ft. The B-21's RCS is reported to be the size of a BB. Try this mission again at night, which would be the actual condition of a B-2 and B-21 strike mission. In addition to that, the mission profile would be a stand-off weapons delivery, not a direct, overhead, bomb drop. This could be limited by the simulator. but, I understand why you would want a day-time mission set-up. I enjoy your channel and am a subscriber. Good work and a good imagination.
Yeah. The B-21 main weapon will be(I think) cruise missiles, STEALTH cruise missiles, not conventional bombs for sure.
Funny thing about stealth: its effectiveness is highly dependent on the frequency of the radar that's illuminating it. The RCS may be tiny at 3 GHz but it's not necessarily going to be at 3 MHz. Of course, lower frequency means longer wavelength means less resolution, so it's useless as anything other than an early warning, but they'll definitely know something's there.
Also, distance is a factor. At some point your plane is going to be getting hit by enough energy that it doesn't matter how small your cross section is. Hence why GS talks about "burn-through" on the stealth. The goal is to get your missile into that range, and then it can do the rest.
These mission based vids are pretty entertaining to watch. Good work GS!

And I'm pretty sure Air Force doctrine wouldn't have let him go up solo. At bare minimum a two-ship, more likely a flight of four. Even if the Flankers got their first salvo off, they wouldn't have gotten a second.
If any of the adversaries would be a player controlled aircraft, may have lost all 3.
You deserve more subs point blank. What im trying to say is the gameplay you come out with is insanely awesome, and you deserve way more subs!

Scatter troops with MANPADs on the ground. Would love to see how you deal with an air threat while also having to consider random soldiers with Stingers etc. that would make it harder to fly lower.
I don't think any MANPADs can hit them at that alt, it will have to be an s300/400 or SA 6

Hey GS. You might want to tell those B2 Spirit pilots to drop bombs either on the runway or on the buildings. I think all they hit were trees, a little bit of pavement and where they were putting together the S300's. No critical damage happened to the runway. lol I think a second strike is needed to permanently erase that airfield off the map. ;)
I'm also surprised the S300's weren't scanning for targets. Were they plugged in? You should have been pinged at least once as you crossed their scans searching for targets. Your attack vector should have been provided by the SU-33's and SU-57 that there were "potential threats" in a particular direction.

It'd either be a single flight of two B-2s with a four-ship of escorts, or two flights of two B-2s each with their own four-ship of escorts. The Air Force likes their even numbers.

Love these objective missions with multiple units of different friendly/enemy aircraft.
Tactics question (from someone who knows nothing about tactics) - would it make sense to lead the bombers further out to intercept enemy fighters prior to them launching (rather than hanging with them until contact is found on radar then vectoring into them)? If you know the route of the bombers then you can project forward and screen them that way?
Not criticizing what you did, just curious.
then where's the added drama if he does that, if he eliminates all the threats immediately before they could get near the B2 it would be a walk on the park and be no fun for GS, you know him he likes the challenge even it's not necessary.
@@nitonono4143 yeah, in a real operation you would clear the airspace in front of the bombers (we do not want to lose the tens of billions these things cost) and have them flying in space, likely in coordination with a ground strike. but this is dcs and we trying to have fun and show a cool battle

I have a small question about fox-3 missiles (aim120 in particular).. If you lose lock before the missile goes pitbull, and then regain lock, does the missile uses the regained lock information? or is that missile on its own once the first lock is broken?

I think Russia would trade 7 aircraft, a runway and some SAMs for a B2, but that was really cool, both in concept and execution.
Two F-22’s 20 miles in front of the bombers would’ve dominated.
Russia cannot know what's inside the cargo bay of the B2, they will assume the worst case which is nukes. They then would nuke the B2 out of the sky and retaliate with a tactical nuke in European NATO.
Next either the political leadership gets on the phone or the incident escalates rapidly into a full blown total and mutual nuclear annihilation.

Quick question, when it comes to shooting down undefended support planes like AWACS is there an etiquette? Obviously you don't want it to help the enemy, but if the wing didn't come off would you have let it attempt to land?

How would the Russians using long range IR missiles like the R-27ET change this? They have less range and are vulnerable to the sun but don't require any guidance from the launch aircraft.
I like those. Would be nice if the US had something like that. Send one after your 120D shot. They'll be so busy trying to evade the slammer that they won't see the Fox 2 coming.

He has an older video where he explains the different missile types (fox 1-3) and strategies for each. A lot of his videos he will also discuss different variations of each missile type relative to countries airframes. Look through his channel and I’m sure you’ll find what you’re looking for
