Any reason why the Rafale (especially its newest variant, the F5 or Super Rafale) is not very much covered by you or Growling Sidewinder? Maybe a proper mod is not available yet? I understand that both of you are US nationals and tend to favor US jets but does it have anything to do with the fact that the Rafale has the most sales worldwide in 2023 besides the F-35? 🤔
The sound effect worked into that SU57 mod is so immersion breaking... that dopler shift you would hear if the plane flew over, but hearing it repeatedly from inside the cockpit is just silly. Aside that, another great vid LS )

@@Max_Da_G Oh, the F-22 is explicitly SFM, so there's no point in even mentioning it (just like the "Typhoon"). As for what's wrong with the surfaces and nozzles on this so called Felon, you are forgetting that it's a modern fighter jet with relaxed longitudinal stability. Just imagine what would happen in reality if they were swung this much... You can also find some real life air display footage and see for yourself how exactly they move on the actual Su-57 depending on the maneuver.
Once again a stealth jet getting a target lock on it long before the foe actually would. One day, DCS will actually start to give SU57 fliers the advantages they actually should have!
Textbook perfection of how to do infrared sneaky mountain /terrain attack - heck, GS has been attempting this recently but he tends to peek out and get spotted by enemy radars often- LS did this perfectly(well, aside from using Fox 3 missiles- FOX 2's , long range and short range would have been the ultimate kill no one saw coming)- but the flying, and staying DEEP behind mountain peaks until he's looking elsewhere- is some master class flying, props to LS. Love whenever Longshot does this- dude, you're getting even better at it- Felon or Flanker, this would have beat your foe regardless. You've become the master for sure of this! Shame the Eurofighter doesn't have it's own IRST implemented - it wouldn't have made a diff in this fight at all though lol. Also, if you really had to use Fox 3s - a R-37 would have been the ultimate insult from behind him LOL. Love whenever LS demoes the infrared sneaky ghost techniques..
The Felon is a good looking aircraft. I like the howling sound it makes. It's like flying banshee. Given how close you were, you could've given him an Archer along with the Adder. IIRC, Russians like to double-tap when it comes to air to air combat.
LS - love how your play-by-play helps me understand your strategies and adjustments. And although this vid - while excellent (as usual 👍) - isn't an example of a particularly hairy, edge-of-your-seat mission. when those missions DO arise, your real-time vocals make for an incredibly authentic, immersive experience (quite often when watching such vids, people in the same room had to ask if I'm okay after hearing my high-pitched squeals and seeing me jumping in my chair! 🤪)

Now the missile range of both R-77 & Meteor should be very close. Especially because the R-77 that Su-57 will be carrying are the R-77M or the K-77M. From the publicly available data it has a range of 190km, while the Meteor has 200km. So, they're roughly the same, in terms of range. I'm guessing the R-77 you're using is the R-77-1? Because if anything Su-57 would be carrying R-77Ms as they were specifically designed for Su-57

Whatever happened to the new "Longshot Long Range Missle Avoidance by Hard Manuvering Technique" or "LSLRMAHMT" we all saw you demonstrate a few weeks ago? Wouldn't have that worked here? Even GS used it in one of his videos, so it must work.....right?
Since he had terrain masking available, why screw around flying those death loops. And don’t forget, LS was able to work that strategy out over multiple try’s where he knew the timing of the Meteor’s arrival.
I appreciate your videos, LS, they're among the best DCS videos available. However, the sound of the Su-57 always takes me out of the realism of the moment. It has that distinctive decreasing pitch associated with the doppler effect but it has it inside the cockpit where you shouldn't hear it.
The mod still looks like a work in progress so a lot of things are far away from the reality. Like the summoning of a missile and then it being shot at the target instead of the internal bays opening and the missiles coming out from there. A lot of avionics in the cockpit don't work either.

At this point of time, it's more of an equivalent to the f 22 and f 35, the naming is correct now, 22+35=57, it has frontal stealth like f 22 now and 360 degrees coverage as well, while the f 22 doesn't have 360 degrees coverage and also it lacks the IRST system, so In case an f 22 is being chased by a su 57 ,raptor's gone for good with a heat seeking missile and even if they go head to head, the fight may very well come down to close ranges and here comes the thrust vectoring in play, also the f 22 raptor or the f 35 may have a hard time finding it on the radar as the su 57 is now equipped with the no96 byelka rada which is L band radar, American stealth aircrafts use X band radars, it also now has the new idzeliye 30 engine which produces enough thrust to supercruise without using afterburners, the f 22 may very well chase the su 57 but the f 35 will melt,as it's tail section melts on supercruising, even after giving so much info, the Americans will come to argue, draining their logic, they will act as if it's their own school project

It's crazy how much effort the Felon has to go through to even be able to take a shot at the Typhoon, never mind defeat it. Really nice tactical flying by Longshot, but I think if this fight had been over flat terrain or water he'd have been toast. I definitely know which aircraft I would prefer to be in in a real war. No, it's not crazy. You know why? Because in this video Longshot made a mistake and armed his Felon with the first iteration of R-77 (1993 version) aka the dogshit vanilla dcs missile that does not even loft in game (but does irl). U can clearly see that through it's advised launch parameters and the fact that it just says "77" in the bottom right corner of HUD. Not "77-1" let alone "77M". FYI, "77-1" is one of the two AA missiles used in Ukraine by the Russians. Rivaled only by 37M. So u cannot argue that R-77-1 is not in abundance. That is why longshot is outranged so badly. The fact that he won is almost a miracle 😅

@alb9229 sure bro. Russian's aerospace tech is 15 yrs behind western tech. Regarding the SU57 and getting into the specific, SU57 average RCS is basically the one of a clean Super Hornet. In fact when India tested it sadi "no thanks" because they realized how shitty their 4.5 gen aicraft was (and is). Second: Typhoon ECM suite is light years ahead of what russians have. No doubt about it. And considering all METEOR spec are classified all you have is just a best guess. IRL Meteor with its ramjet prop would find and destroy the SU57 in seconds. And Typhoon tranche 4 will be fitted with the best AESA radar available on the market: ECRS Mk2. The PIRATE on the Typhoon is just an amazing piece of engineering, you can't hide even though you are stealth. But the SU57 isn't stealth so what are we talking about? It doesnt even have S duct intakes. And actually i'm working as a supply chain manager for one of the big three aeronautical engine supplier. Wake up, their aircrafts are good for airshow with their tvc. Only Airshows.
He actually had many disadvantages. Had the r77 which has shorter ranges than the meteor missles. He took the felon meaning he only has four fox 3 and 2 fox 2. While the Europe has external hard points mean he can have up to six fox 3 and 4 fox 2. He just played better and used his awacs as the spotter.

In real life no one knows as there are exaggerated claims from both the West and Russia. The West has had a history of downplaying the enemy and saying that they aren't good enough. A good example is the PLAAF. The US went to lengths to establish it wasn't good enough and after seeing it's strength build up over the years, they are panicking and ramping up their own developments.

The Su 57 is so amazing that its 5th generation is much better than that 4th generation German aircraft, although the German aircraft costs several times more, but the Su 57 is not even for sale

R-37 can't fit inside the weapons bays. They are sized for R-77Ms. Having R-37M hanging off the wings kills stealth. Stealth isn't well-modelled in DCS by the looks of things.
That's how stealth planes approach their targets. Low-probability of Intercept radar isn't uninterceptable. And having an IRST allows for wholly passive intercept which doesn't trigger RWR. Ultimate in stealth is neither reflecting radar back towards the illuminating radar, nor providing own EM radiation for enemy to detect.
@@mick776gold There is a kicker: Russians have medium-range Fox-2s, specifically R-27ET, which Flankers are known to be capable of carrying. Since Su-57 is stated to be able to carry the full nomenclature of Russian air-to-air missiles, I don't see why it wouldn't be able to equip those.
Why i got a blurry vision when i reach a certain altitude, i looked over the cockpit to see if there is any button related to oxygen but i didnt find, can anyone help pls
Supermaneuverability DOES NOT mean "more maneuverable"!!!!! Supermaneuverability means the plane can maneuver after its wings has stalled, typically through the use of vectored thrust or high AoA maneuvers.
A more appropriate term would be "super-controllability" to be fair. "Super-maneuverability" term was coined in USA and refers to ability to change the direction faced irrespective of flight path and changing flight path irrespective of direction faced.
@@Max_Da_G It's the same with super cruise, the USA defines it as flying above M1.5 without afterburner but the general population think it's above M1. I think discussing what would be an appropriate term is moot, we should instead look at the definitions these sources provided.
I've always wondered why the SU-57 interior design looks like no effort was put in it, like no details, textures whatsoever. No way this is how it is irl!

The are certainly more Felons here then in real world. Also both Typhoon and Meteor are nit modelled well in DCS. You cannot bleed off Meteor's energy as it is powered to hit. The crank defence is unrealistic against its radar and network enabled targeting. To defeat the Fellow the Typhoon just needed to get high and drop a missile on it. There are now many accounts to suggest the stealth on Felton is not that good. In fact India pulled out of buying it because it was not that good. There have been well documented reports of it being detected at range by 4 gen Russian built planes. Many analysts now consider it a 4.5 gen plane.
The Indians never made a deal about the Felon. They are working on their own 5th gen fighter program along with more indigenous tech to go alongside it. The Meteor can be defeated, its not the undefeatable missile you're making it out to be.
@@traviswalker8933 Indians grumbled something unintelligible about stealth and avionics when Russians refused to hand over the production method of the at-the-time classified Item 30. They also wanted the whole thing 100% localized in India lol Russians predictably told them where to go with such demands. And then India asked US to sell them the hot section technology of F404 engine. And ALSO got told where to go lol
@@svenhvr not really. The F22 yes, the SU57 no way. The Eurofighter has greater t/w ratio, an ecm suite that is top notch, a self protection system that is one of the most advanced, S-duct and other stuff to reduce the rcs. The F22 is better, yes, but regarding Russian's stuff..no, the Russians are 15/20 yrs late compared to Eu and USA. Remember: this is just a game (i've worked for Typhoon supply chain).
those simulators, can’t consider real world factors, such as russian planes use glonas (the russian gps) and this system is really poor. other thing, if any russian plane will try to maneuver close to a 9 g’s, the plane will break apart due to poor construction. also the poor reliability of the russian engines… in shirt, russia planes can only win in simulators.

su 57 can't carry r37m?? because if it does why not take these and not the r77m??

The Su 57 is so amazing that its 5th generation is much better than that 4th generation German aircraft, although the German aircraft costs several times more, but the Su 57 is not even for sale

The kill shot was actually fox2 , i see R73 selected in the HUD.
If you look at the HUD, you’ll see that the R77 is selected right before the launch. The R73 only shows up on the HUD after the launch.

R-37 can't fit inside the weapons bays. They are sized for R-77Ms. Having R-37M hanging off the wings kills stealth. Stealth isn't well-modelled in DCS by the looks of things.
In my opinion, the Felon is the second best looking 5th gen, the YF-23 obviously being number 1!

That's how stealth planes approach their targets. Low-probability of Intercept radar isn't uninterceptable. And having an IRST allows for wholly passive intercept which doesn't trigger RWR. Ultimate in stealth is neither reflecting radar back towards the illuminating radar, nor providing own EM radiation for enemy to detect.

Yes, but they have to be fired while at closer range. I have only seen fox2s used in visual range.
@@mick776gold There is a kicker: Russians have medium-range Fox-2s, specifically R-27ET, which Flankers are known to be capable of carrying. Since Su-57 is stated to be able to carry the full nomenclature of Russian air-to-air missiles, I don't see why it wouldn't be able to equip those.

Supermaneuverability means the plane can maneuver after its wings has stalled, typically through the use of vectored thrust or high AoA maneuvers.
A more appropriate term would be "super-controllability" to be fair. "Super-maneuverability" term was coined in USA and refers to ability to change the direction faced irrespective of flight path and changing flight path irrespective of direction faced.

I think discussing what would be an appropriate term is moot, we should instead look at the definitions these sources provided.

Only at night. They're hidden by plumes of black smoke during the day.
Just the normal blue with a little yellow. Blue flame means efficient combustion.

The are certainly more Felons here then in real world. Also both Typhoon and Meteor are nit modelled well in DCS. You cannot bleed off Meteor's energy as it is powered to hit. The crank defence is unrealistic against its radar and network enabled targeting. To defeat the Fellow the Typhoon just needed to get high and drop a missile on it. There are now many accounts to suggest the stealth on Felton is not that good. In fact India pulled out of buying it because it was not that good. There have been well documented reports of it being detected at range by 4 gen Russian built planes. Many analysts now consider it a 4.5 gen plane.
The Indians never made a deal about the Felon. They are working on their own 5th gen fighter program along with more indigenous tech to go alongside it.
The Meteor can be defeated, its not the undefeatable missile you're making it out to be.

They also wanted the whole thing 100% localized in India lol Russians predictably told them where to go with such demands. @@svenhvr not really. The F22 yes, the SU57 no way. The Eurofighter has greater t/w ratio, an ecm suite that is top notch, a self protection system that is one of the most advanced, S-duct and other stuff to reduce the rcs. The F22 is better, yes, but regarding Russian's stuff..no, the Russians are 15/20 yrs late compared to Eu and USA. Remember: this is just a game (i've worked for Typhoon supply chain).

those simulators, can’t consider real world factors, such as russian planes use glonas (the russian gps) and this system is really poor.
other thing, if any russian plane will try to maneuver close to a 9 g’s, the plane will break apart due to poor construction. also the poor reliability of the russian engines… in shirt, russia planes can only win in simulators.
