Which Beverly Hills Cop movie is your fav?

This one has always been My Most-Favorite and (IMO) the Best one of them all!!✌
I'm with Tom on this one Jen!
The 3rd in an amusement park. Also she is stallone's ex wife. They are both in COBRA which is one of my favorite stallone movies.
As much as I love Tony Scott, I'm still partial to the first one. He made Top Gun, True Romance, Crimson Tide, and more. He was also Ridley Scott's brother who passed away a few years ago now. RIP
If you want to watch another Tony Scott film then you can't beat "True Romance". Written by Quentin Tarantino, directed by Scott, with Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Dennis Hopper, Val Kilmer.
It's a perfect film.
18:02 - The Stallone poster of the movie, Cobra (1986), was an indirect gag. Stallone was originally cast to play Foley in the first BHC but left after he attempted to make extensive plot changes. The tall blonde girl was his then-wife, Brigitte Nielsen who plays one of the villains in this movie. However, Stallone's vision of BHC would become the movie, Cobra (1986).
Since you're in the 1980's action genre, definitely check out Cobra (1986) and Tango & Cash (1989).
I'm glad you covered the facts between Murphy & Stallone, you beat me to it
Tango & Cash is the perfect distillation of eighties action, love it.
Most insane over the top violent 80s action film is Death Wish 3.
In addition, Brigitte Nielsen co-starred with Sylvester Stallone in Cobra.
I vote for Cobra!
Fun fact: Eddie Murphy's boss in Detroit was played by Gill Hill who was at the time head of the actual homicide division of the real Detroit PD.
Wasn't he a crooked cop?
@@SimoExMachina2 Ohh I don't know about that, but it wouldn't surprise me as later he was also top dog on the notoriously crooked Detroit city council.

Beverly Hills Cop 4 is coming out this summer Jen
Tony Scott directed True Romance. It was written by Tarantino and is a 90s crime romance film featuring Christian Slater, Gary Oldman, Dennis Hopper and quite a few other Hollywood greats. I'd definitely recommend watching it at some point. It's a massively underrated film.
It also has a younger James Gandolfini before he became Mr. Soprano, and if I recall correctly, I believe I read somewhere that one of the casting directors for The Sopranos saw a clip of him in this and that's what helped push them to reach out to him.
one of the best films of his area, super underrated
also Christopher Walken.
Patricia Arquette, too. Really Damn Good movie.
I liked everything about it but the main character, which is a problem
Jen, I'm confident that I'm speaking for everyone, go nuts with the wigs.
Back when movies could be crazy fun. Miss those days.
I'm sure you'd be great in a Heist Jen, you've already stolen all our hearts! 😂😂😂 Great reaction 👏
LOL Smooth!
You son of a bitch, I'm in!
🤮🤮🤮
Yes, Jen. I'd stick with the hearts. You're so good at it!
Simp
My mom who liked your videos sadly passed 2 wks ago and this video and movie cheered me up for a while. Thanks for your videos Jen 🇬🇧🤍
Sorry for your loss 🙏 I hope continuing watching Jen's reactions brings you comfort 💙
I'm sorry for your loss 🌹
I’m sorry for your loss. My mother passed away three weeks ago and she love Eddie Murphy movies. I’m praying for you and your family 🙏
Fun fact: Gilbert Gottfried who played Sidney Bernstein also voiced Iago in Aladdin. Can't wait for the 4th movie this summer.
'he got a charisma'
That's why everyone knows his name.
I love the way he accused the bad guys own family of being a cop always makes me laugh
you'd be surprised
how often accusing
a bad guy
of being either a
COP or INFORMANT
in front of his friends
actually works to cause
dissention among them
funniest example
ROBOCOP the series 1994
episode
MIDNIGHT MINUS 1
ROBOCOP
accuses a mob guy of being a
cop
Jen! The funny "foreign" guy from the first movie is in the third movie. His name is Bronson Pinchot, and he's known for making up these fake accents. And he IS hilarious. You can bet a lot of his interaction with Eddie Murphy at the gallery was ad-libbed.
1:56... Paul Reiser! I was a BIG fan of "Mad About You" in the '90s. Never missed an episode. I even took to wearing vests a lot because he wore them on the show. Yeah... I may be the only guy who ever got his fashion sense from Paul Reiser.
Charles Cain is played by Dean Stockwell, may he RIP, he is most famous for playing Al Calavici in the TV Show the original Quantum Leap.
And RIP to Gilbert Gotfried the voice of Iago from Aladdin, he plays Sydney Bernstein.
18:06
That's a poster for Cobra (1986). It's definitely worth a watch & reaction.
It's also shown at the beginning of the movie semi-full frame
Beverly Hills Cop 3 is a good watch and yeah he's still active. In fact he is reprising his role for the 4th Beverly Hills Cop film coming soon to Netflix.
-Sage
3 is crap lol
Bronson Pinchot (Serge - "that foreign guy" from the first "Beverly Hills Cop") is in "Beverly Hills Cop 3," and he is still funny.
Great Sequel to the original. Also, all the characters had more to do this time, and this is when Eddie Murphy was at his peak in the 80s
I liked this one better. Tagart had the BEST line in the entire movie after shooting the blonde - "WOMEN!" And you wear the wigs, outfits and ANYTHING else you want to do. The more fun you have, the more fun it is to watch. So go for it.
Your wheeze/giggle is infectious ! The way your eyes sparkle when you laugh keeps me smiling , Ms M .
Great reaction. Eddie Murphy is actually releasing Beverly Hills Cop 4 later in the year. Looks good.
Haven't seen this in sooo long. Thanks for the refresher Jen!
Anthony David Leighton Scott (21 June 1944 - 19 August 2012[1]) was an English film director and producer. He made his theatrical film debut with The Hunger (1983) and went on to direct highly successful action and thriller films such as Top Gun (1986), Beverly Hills Cop II (1987), Days of Thunder (1990), The Last Boy Scout (1991), Crimson Tide (1995), Enemy of the State (1998), Man on Fire (2004), Déjà Vu (2006), and Unstoppable (2010). From Wikipedia...
That other Stallone poster in Billy's room was actually from "Cobra" (1986) starring Sylvester Stallone as a maverick cop and Brigitte Niesen as a murder witness whom he has to protect from a cult of serial killers. Not as awesome as it sounds, but a reasonable popcorn movie that has enough devotees to be worth a reaction video.
Pretty sure Stallone was also supposed to be cast as Axle in the first Beverly Hills Cop. He wanted to make too many changes though, so they went with Eddie. Sly ended up making the version he wanted... Cobra 😉
@@hulkslayer626 Yes.
The most recent thing I've seen Eddie Murphy in was Tower Heist (2011). Him, Ben Stiller, Matthew Broderick, Casey Affleck, Alan Alda, it goes on. Lol You'd definitely love it🤘
Tony Scott is director Ridley Scott's (Alien) brother. Tony also directed Top Gun and True Romance which was written by Quentin Tarantino. You should do True Romance.
That was nostalgic. Another great choice, Jen, as always 😊
We would love to see you in some wigs Jen! Stallone poster was from the movie Cobra. Eddie was nominated for an Oscar and won a Golden Globe for his role in Dream Girls. Also, a recent comedy that is a return to form, away from his kiddie movies is the biopic Dolemite. Please keep working through his classics, such as the 48hrs series, Coming to America, the Golden Child, and Nutty Professor series. You always have great picks Jen. Love your channel.
Awesome reaction of my favorite Beverly Hills Cop movie!!!!😊😊😊😊
Tony Scott is the father of modern action movies. He was responsible for the original Top Gun. Action movie pacing got ridiculous starting with him, but I still enjoy some of his movies.
Thanks for reviewing this. You make Mondays better!
Hi, Jen, I don't think I've ever seen this one, looking forward to watching with you!
If you haven’t seen the movie TRUE ROMANCE yet you need to see it! Directed by Tony Scott and written by Quentin Tarantino. You’ll love it.
Quentin actually sold the script for True Romance to help pay for him to make Reservoir Dogs.
yes, there is a 3, it's not really good from what I remember, but it's been a while. i did see they're doing a part 4 this year. '48 Hours' would be another great dramedy,
Perfect timing Jen, I was just Rocking-Out to Bob Seger's "Shakedown" while waiting for this Reaction to upload!👍 I'm so Happy You've finally gotten around to this Action-Packed / Hysterically-Funny Sequel!! 🤩✌ R.I.P. to Gilbert Gottfried, his scene as "Sydney Bernstein" is one of His Best, Funniest and Most-Memorable moments ever!!😂 R.I.P. to Tony Scott too, because out of all the Movies He'd Directed, I feel like this one deserves to be Recognized among His Best Works!!👌
Gottfried had fun little role in Renny Harlin's Ford Fairlane (1990) 🤪 ua-cam.com/video/te3GBg5m_64/v-deo.htmlsi=ztkIx4zAkdUsBm7v
Tony Scott was Ridley Scott’s brother. He was a wonderful director. He did some amazing films, Top Gun, Man On Fire, Domino, True Romance. He’s my top 5 favorite director of all time. He had a very signature style with the camera and editing that made his films unmistakably his.
Sadly, he jumped off a bridge in along Beach I think out of the blue one day. Im not sure if they ever figured out why he did it, but it still makes me sad to think about it these years later. If you just keep watching films you’ll see most of this work.
Hi Jen hope you are having an great and awesome day ❤
Thanks John you too! :)
"What's Tony Scott done?"
Two words...
Top Gun
I wish Martin Brest had made it back to direct this one, although I DO love what Tony Scott did with the script. Martin Brest (director of BHC1) also directed John Ashton (Taggart) in Midnight Run, starring Robert Deniro & Charles Grodin. It's a great fun crime-adventure with a very similar feel to the first Beverly Hills Cop. Definitely worth checking out.
Midnight Run is so fun but still has real stakes.
A lot of this was really accurate. You do make 44. Automag casings from .308 rifle casings.
The superglue thing does work, but takes more like 24 hours to reveal the prints, and they come out more white.
The poster of Stallone wasn't' from Rambo. It was from Cobra. Stallone was the original choice for Beverly Hills Cop, but he wanted to make it more of a pure action, vigilante cop movie. He pulled out of the project and turned his ideas into Cobra. The Poster was a nice easter egg for that.
There is a third one, but it's not as good as the others. It also looks like they are working on a fourth one currently.
Well, there was a Rambo poster as well @17:35. Just before the Cobra poster @18:05.
If you want to see Eddie Murphy in a serious role watch 48 hours. It is the OG buddy cop movie.
movie is dark... but still funny
I had this on VHS many years ago, and watched it many times. Great fun watching it again with you.
Seeing as you've now watched two of Brigitte Nielsen's early films (Rocky IV and Beverly Hills Cop II) maybe you could do Red Sonja and Cobra as well.
Yes delighted too watch this with you Jen ❤thank you. Great sequel.
YES the big blonde hair woman is from Rocky 4 and she’s Sylvester Stallone’s ex wife!
One of my favorite sequels of all time, cool reaction as Jen, you take care sweetie 🥰❤️
My favorite of the trilogy! The late Tony Scott gives it a slick style that evokes the first while standing on its own. I love his use of color in his movies, and the shots of orange suns over the oilfields are very much in his 'warm period' (Top Gun - Days of Thunder), but he also uses black and white contrast in BHC2, particularly with Bridgette Nielson's hair and costumes (and also at the 🐰 party 😉).
Throw in the cemented chemistry between our heroic quartet, Jurgen Prochnow as the villain, with bonus Gilbert Godfried (RIP), and I just love it.
The Fingerprint thing with superglue is real! Also the red Stallone poster is from the film Cobra, also with the tall lady :)
The superglue fingerprint thing is partially true. Back then there was a similar technique usingba fog of a substance very similar to the main chemical in super glue. Fun fact: super glue was iriginally developed as a liquid suture for use on soldiers wounded in Vietnam.
Thank you for watching and reacting to one of the greatest action sequels ever. This movie is AWESOME
Yes Jen there is a BHC 3, also there is Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley coming to Netflix later this year.
Tony Scott was one of the most underated directors ever. R.I.P.
More Eddie Murphy?
Well...he's currently working ... well he's working on 3 movies right now... but the one I should mention is called "Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F" and it seems to bring back most of our favorite characters...and also stars Kevin Bacon! According to IMDB it's due out some time this year and is currently in post-production, so could be a spring or summer release!
And yes... there is a Beveryly Hills cop 3...there's also a new "Beverly Hills Cop", not a remake but I guess it's #4, but the story is that it's mainly about Aaron Foley, his son trying to get out from under his father's shadow, and it seems like although Eddie Murphy is in it, he's a side character. I have no clue if this one is any good or not, but I've never heard of it until I just checked his IMDB page.
As for other movies of his? I don't recognize that much from what's listed on his IMDB, but there is Dr. Dolittle and also the Nutty Professor, neither have I seen (nor their sequels) but are comedys. There is also "Vampire in Brooklyn" and "Metro" and "Holy Man". I think I've seen all 3 but it would have been a LONG time ago and I don't recall. There's also "The Golden Child" which I don't recall too much about but I recall enjoying it!
But I think another one of his movies you will enjoy is his very first movie, called "48 Hours" from 1982 and it's sequel "Another 48 Hours" from 1990. I do recall those 2 and I loved them.
Tony Scott did Top Gun, Spy Game, Enemy Of The State among others.
Great action director.
Edit: This movie was the one after Top Gun.
another classic Jen. My fav of the franchise. Love it!
Wooowee! This was so fire! Very very awesome Jen🎉
The second is my favorite and has one of my favorite movie scenes..”sound the alarm you got a break in! I need authorization!” Blam Blam “Authorized!”
48 Hours is another good one from Eddie Murphy in the action crime genre.
18:06 That wasn't a Rambo poster, I believe that was a Cobra poster.
One of my favorite movies of all time. Oh my god! I cannot wait to enjoy this with you! 🤩
This is a great sequel, Eddie’s work in the 80s is so much fun to watch and I can’t wait for the new Beverly Hills cop movie to come out.
I knew the min I saw you was doing this movie, that you would really love the music score on this! And YES, I did Indeed have a great Time watching this with you.
Immediately had to pause what I was watching and haul (virtual) ass over here.
One of the few sequels that lives up to an amazing original. Too bad that they Never Made A Third One.🤨🤨😵💫
Jen and her Serious Girl Spectacles to The Rescue on a Wintry Monday Night. 👍☮❤
I've never seen Jen giggle so much! This one was made for her because it has heists and a sexy villain who Jen can cosplay with her stacks and stacks of wigs. Jen Malicious will be BACK!!!
Beverly Hills Cop 3 is a cash-in that happened later, so it's not on the same level, but I'm glad I saw it for myself. The first two are classics that will live forever. The low-key MVP of this movie was the SCORE!!!
FYI: Axel Foley's boss, inspector Todd is a real life police detective involved with a high profile True Crime story:
From Wiki: Gilbert Roland Hill (November 5, 1931 - February 29, 2016) was an American politician, police officer, and actor, who was the President of the Detroit City Council. He gained recognition for his role as Inspector Todd in the Beverly Hills Cop film series. He was the runner-up in the 2001 Detroit mayoral election, losing to Kwame Kilpatrick. Hill rose to national attention for his ability to obtain confessions out of the most notorious killers. He was part of the law enforcement task force of over 100 agents in the investigation surrounding the Atlanta Child Murders in 1979.
Keep the awesome reactions coming Jen. There are a couple of Eddie Murphy movies worth watching. Bowfinger with Steve Martin is one of my favourites along with the Beverly Hills Cop trilogy and another one that is reasonably ok is I-Spy with Owen Wilson.
14:08 "That's a _very_ cool theme."
I was pretty small when I first heard it on the radio but I loved it _that_ moment. I had _no_ idea where it was from.
This was great! Thank you Jen!
"are you driving with your eyes open? or are you like using the force?"
Brigitte Nielsens outfit during the heist at the start is just the most stunning cool bad girl 80's attire!
Count me in for wanting to see you in a wig, Jen! :)
Incidentally, that Stallone movie poster on Rosewood's closet door was for COBRA, a movie Stallone did with Brigitte Nielsen.
The poster in Rosewoods bathroom wasn't Rambo. It was a Sylvester Stallone movie, but it was called Cobra. It was also starring the same 6ft blonde from this movie. Her name is Bridgette Nielson. She was married to Stallone for a while.
The song you said sounded like Paula Abdul was "Love/Hate" by Pebbles ("Girlfriend", "Mercedes Boy”, "Giving You the Benefit").)
I love this movie. looking forward to the 4th one coming out this year
"Tony Scott - what else did he do?" - both Top Guns and Crimson Tide, among other classics you've seen. One of the great eighties action directors.
Eddie Murphy played a few serious roles. Dreamgirls (2006) which was probably his most critically acclaimed role and Mr. Church (2016) which was a box office flop but I thought it was a solid film. Very touching film.
I'm a little sad that Eddie hasn't done more serious work. Nowadays it's no problem with comedians doing serious work, but in the 80s most comedians were pigeonholed into comedy only roles. Richard Pryor did a few and Robin Williams excelled at it, but that's about it.
@@disconnexionsdotcomunderrated “serious” movie from Eddie, “Metro”. Maybe it’s nostalgia but I thought it was great and used to watch it all the time as kid. It’s kinda like a Walmart version of The Negotiator.
Beverly Hills Cop 4 to be released on Netflix this year. Trailer is on UA-cam, looks like a lot of the cast is back!
21:36 Yes. You need to watch "Dirty Harry" - preferably ALL the Dirty Harry movies, but we'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
Eddie Murphy has been in 48 Hours (first movie role), Another 48 Hours, Boomerang, Metro, The Distinguished Gentleman, Vampire in Brooklyn, Life, Norbit, Dr. Doolittle. Your reaction videos are awesome 🎉❤
Another fantastic reaction! I love the first film best, it's in my top 10 movies, but i really love this one too. This film is in my top 40 movies.
Jen! Did you catch the 'we went fishing' picture with Axel and the Beverly Hills crew at 1:33? They all become buds after the first movie before this story took place.
Totally 80s ❤ Jen, please get Turner and Hooch!! 🎉
Oh she'd love that! A buddy cop movie where one of the buddies is a dog. 🐕
@@mr.a8315 and probably the funniest Tom Hanks movie 🍿
Love Eddie’s Laugh!!
Jen, Tony Scott also directed True Romance, one of Quentin Tarantino's first movies that he wrote and he was also going to direct and maybe produce, but he sold the script so he could work on another dream project, "Reservoir Dogs" and the rest is history, True Romance is an amazing film, a great story with a star studded cast, you should definitely watch that fr the channel.
The woman is Brigitte Nielsen. Stallone's Ex-wife. She was also in the Stallone movie Cobra (The poster on Billy's wall was Cobra).
Definitely check out part III. It isn't on the same level as the first two, but it's still fun. Because it came out in the 90s, they changed up the music and got rid of the 80s synth sound, which, in my opinion, doesn't help the experience. Eddie is still the reason to watch, though. The foreign guy from part I, Serge, comes back. I hope you give it a watch. It definitely has its moments.
If I had a nickel for every time I was described as having “Neolithic incompetence “ I’d have at least twenty cents. That’s when the real money starts coming in.
Your question about the superglue fumes and fingerprints being true? It is!
We experienced it accidentally when someone put a superglue container without the lid into a wall locker. A day later we opened the locker and there were hundreds of white finger prints and smudges all over almost everything. The only difference is that the ones we saw were white and the movie showed it as black...so they may have modified it to show up better on the white matches.
Thanks for the reaction! I love the props you have....if you keep doing cop/crime movies, you may need a badge/ID to flip :)
Damn good reaction. You made good predictions, appreciated the music, and didn't talk or skip over the adidas joke. I saw this in theaters at age 8. You Rock!👌
14:50 - THE POINTER SISTERS sang 'Neutron Dance' which featured in the movie, Beverley Hills Cop (1984)
YES.. I went to detective school in 1987....Super glue and baking soda also solidifies greasy/oily prints.
Yep you need to watch Dirty Harry
one of the few triologies where all 3 entries are amazing
Maxwell was played by Jürgen Prochnow, who stars in the great submarine warfare movie. "Das Boot"
"Somebody had an accident in the swimming pool" 😭🤣😭🤣
Beverly Hills Cop 4 just finished production, Jen. So yes, it's a third movie, but a fourth movie called Beverly Hills Cop: Axel Foley is on the way. I watched the first 3 movies years ago.
HEHH, HEHH, HEHH 😂 heist film and Eddie Murphy! Your in the zone Jen! 😊thanks again...ERIC!
Would that be the Danger Zone..? 😎👍(LOL)

Great reaction Jen. I watched this in the theater back in the days. What a treat it was. BTW the Sly poster in the bedroom was not Rambo, but Cobra, Brigitte Nielsen was in that too. :)
This might be my favorite beverly hills cop movie.
Dirty Harry is a must see! 👍
