- In this video we show how to remove the front grille assembly and headlights in order to change the bulbs on your 2009 2010 2011 2012 2013 2014 2015 2017 2018 RAM 1500 2500 3500.
The job is fairly straightforward but it a bit labor intensive for just having to replace a bulb inside your headlight on the truck. This is the way the truck is designed unfortunately but hopefully this helps show you the process!

This is a great video and made me decide to sell the truck when my headlight burns out.

This was perfect!! So helpful and made installation of new bulbs a breeze! After watching video done within 10mins the longest part was removing the top plastic radiator cover.
Another bulb changed with no broken clips, tabs, or connectors! Thanks Man!

I had to put a new wheel bearing on day 5 after paying cash for this money pit lol today I had to get my power sliding window closed because it didn't close lol
Definitely came in handy, emptied out about 1 cups worth of condensation due to the previous owner pushing the plugs all the way in, not allowing any of the condensation to flow out. Thanks! 👍🏻

Dude! I checked out your video on how to replace my Ramtruck headlight. You were spot on for everything. Thanks to the video, I was able to do everything without breaking any tabs or fasteners. Only thing I have to add is that it took one cycle in my truck to clear the “left front blinker error”. I was kinda freakin out when I started it the first time and still had the error. But after shutting the truck off and then restarting it, the error cleared. Thanks again! You made this repair simple for me. Only took 15-20 minutes! In my case, my headlight housing was collecting condensation and would not go away and it eventually messed up my blinker. Now I’m back on the road.

This was an excellent walk through on how to do this easily and without breaking anything on my truck. I was able to replace the headlight bulbs in less than an hour following this block of instruction. Thank you.

Hey bro, thanks for the all the videos you do. Makes doing things to the new Ram I got a lot simpler. I knocked out a headlight bulb upgrade in about 45 mins, thanks in part to this spot on video of how to remove the headlight housings w/o breaking things. I know you got the projectors but for guys like me with the Quad reflector lights, changing the H11s to the H9s in the lows makes a world of difference w/o having to worry about the headaches with LEDs/HIDs and costs literally $18 for the bulbs. Thanks again.

I found your video super helpful. Like WAAYYY better than all the other videos on the same topic. Then I realized that I had already spun the fudge out of that lower bolt, that raises and lowers the headlight.

This is a great video. Another one I saw showed how to do this without removing the grille. I would be reluctant to do it that way just in case the lower bolt turned the adjuster when trying to remove.
I just removed mine without removing grill. Just need a 12" extension to get to the bottom bolt. No problem and quick.
I just did the same thing LOL!! It was easy AF. My brother owns a 2014 like mine and doesn't believe me.

Thumbs up, as I got the buckets out successfully with this help. I still don't know how you removed the electrical plug. All we could see was the backs of your hands. I`m just going to do it with them hanging by the wires.

I just put in the new innovited hid low beams, hikari led high beams and alla lighting premium led fogs today. I did this without removing the grill just FYI. It’s actually really easy to do it without the grill removal which is where the headaches can happen with broken tabs. Just need a long extension and you can easily remove the bottom screw. Thanks for your great vids by the way.

Terrific tips made this a super easy, 10-minute job.
Best video!!! Takes you step by step. The only thing was taking off the running light... having to press the tab back instead of pinching together was the only tough part. Can you make a video for taking the grill of a charger?

I saw another how-to without removing the grille to get to lights, but if you have a 12V impact, ie Milwaukee M12, the grille comes off in literally 90 seconds.

The hardest part is getting your hand in the access hole under the fender. I had a hard time locating the tab to pull up and down. After I got the old bucket out I put a 10 inch long piece of masking tape on the tab and let the loose end trail out the hole in the fencer. Follow the trail with your hand to find the tab after setting the bucket in place. Saves a lot of time. and swearing lol

So I took my truck to the shop to get some work done, and my headlamp is loose and part of it broken along with some damage to the bumper. It looks like the guys at the shop used a flat head screw driver to try to pop out the headlight. Now I’m really worried, guess I’ll be taking things off and apart to see the extent of the body damage. Thank you for the video.

Just did the Hikari LED fogs with the canbus decoders. Ordered everything at one shot on Friday. Amazon prime of course. Still waiting on Innovitive HID kit. After the LEDs install I was so hyped up I went on to taking the grille out. I followed your method to a T and my fat arms and hands still managed to break one clip. Lower driver’s side. Lol.
lol those pesky clips! At least they are cheap to replace if needed. Let us know how you like the innovited HID kit. It really makes a difference!
BoostedMotorsports will do. I’ll let you know. I wish I would have ordered the 9005 or HB3 kit instead of the 9012. Still in 5000k 55watt. Just ordered the 9005s. Why/how did you end up with a 9012 kit? They make and sell the same thing in 9005 or HB3. Also, did you have any other wiring? No relay and wiring from the battery? I have only ever wired up a 9007 hi/low beam HID kit on my old Dakota.

Yep mine is filled with 2” of water. I just drilled a tiny hole in the bottom to drain it. But now I gotta change the bulbs.
I couldn't find the white tab to save my life yesterday. I used a mirror too. I ended up strong arming the housing and shattered the white tab but you know what? The tab seems to be useless anyway. The headlight is still held in by the 2 bolts and seems to be rigid while in place. TIP, before replacing the grill I put some dieelectric grease on the tabs to make it remove/replace a bit easier next time.
