My 400 had the same issue but I started using Harvest King bar oil(a little thinner but really good) so now the chain is clearly getting oiled without being drenched. I cut big oaks just about every week where the 25” light bar is routinely buried and I have zero issues. Stihl oil works the same but at twice the price. HK is around $8 a gallon plus shipping so I get 4 gallons at a time.

There was no way that the cheaper 460 high output pump was gonna run you dry before fueling

Honestly the plastic parts is why many stay away from stihl.

I own husky stihl echo makita/dolmar and there is less plastic on stihl thany any of them pro saws any way i cant speak for home owner and farm ranch saws other than the handle and thats the only model i have seen with plastic handle
