    Gota get outside an enjoy that nice t shirt weather . Probably won’t make the prettiest bundle wood but should make a lot of nice fire wood . That 400 had a nice edge on it looked like potato chips coming out the back side . Nice shirt Todd I guess we know who cut one today 😂

      @toddsoutsideagain  10 місяців тому

      Yes it was a nice T-shirt day for a nice T-shirt🤣 I ran 3 tanks thru the 400 and the chain was still flingin good chips. I actually split a trailer load off these rounds and a bunch of it is going to the burn pile. Its grain is so twisted it took me 3x longer to split. My time is worth more than that🤷‍♂️ I gotta lot of splits out of the tree top though. Thanks for watching Phil👊🏻

      Yeah, it seems like I’ve been taking this tree down forever. But without equipment I’m just doing it in small portions whenever time allows. I got probably a cord and a half out of the treetop, but most of this lower half is actually going into the burn pile. I’ve never seen grain so twisted before, this maple is especially bad towards the base. I split a load yesterday and it took me three times longer than it usually does. Thanks Brandon👊🏻

    I have worked up trees like that and it is a lot of hard work. I didn't need to but I can't stand to see wood go to waste. I have worked much harder than I needed to on wood that others wouldn't mess with. There is a lot of wood in that tree. Is that a silver maple?

    • @toddsoutsideagain
      @toddsoutsideagain  10 місяців тому

      Hello James! Yeah this is a Silver Maple that was threatening to break and fall on the house. I rented a lift and took it down. You can go back and see the video on that. It is a lot of hard work when they are this big. Especially this tree. The grain is so twisted it’s almost impossible to split. I saved as much of it as I could. Thanks for watching 👊🏻

    So Todd, you have a 400, Mike from KNL, Jeremiah from 608. I think Jenin’s brother Alex has one too. I want to order one so I can join the club. Not really, so do you think you really need the bark box or similar exhaust. Do you think there’s that much difference. I really don’t want to just create noise. You’re doing well beating up on that maple. I have been watching for more than a year and I really like what I see in the 400. I can’t justify the 500i when I can own a 261 and a 400 for about the same price. They quoted 949.00 plus tax 20 inch bar. If I need a 25 inch bar I have a 036 with a 25 on it. I have got to watch weight. Let me know what you think. I sent you a channel sticker. I would like one of your sticker if you don’t mind.

    • @toddsoutsideagain
      @toddsoutsideagain  10 місяців тому

      Well hello 👋🏻 I have been very happy with the 400 and have been for over two years now! I kinda took a chance on it because when I got it there was very little info on UA-cam about it. I saw it on someone’s channel from across the pond. Female Lumberjack I believe? I have said it numerous times as well that I bought the 400 and the 261 for what they were wanting for the 500i As far as the bark box, no I don’t think it made that much of a difference. The reason I put it on was to help the saw run cooler because I was concerned with the magnesium piston( new technology) After two years still amazed by the power to weight ratio and low vibe aspects of the 400! I hope this helps. Thanks for watching and commenting 👊🏻
