- I picked up the Lotus Emira from Bell & Colvill in Surrey - finally!
Now, the problem is, do I keep this and sell the Ferrari?
Your support is always greatly appreciated.

Can't get over how loud the car was going down that street when people were saying it was muted.. sounded proper.
Yeah, me too, as usually a video just not do sounds justice.
Get rid of the Ferrari. If it was a 458, then you would have a dilemma. That lotus is a painfully pretty car and great runner. The Merc can go too if you're not taxing around people. Later, get a decent used SL55 to drive around with the top down.
I am leaning towards selling the Ferrari. Makes more sense from many angles. Still, when I drive it, it is like nothing else.
I will review my whole decision process in May/June so will enjoy the lot for now!
I have heard getting parts for Lotus right now is extremely difficult.
That's a great looking car in that spec, not having privacy glass& being able to see engine bay etc is good choice and engine sounds good aswell.looking forward to more updates, well done.
Thanks - very happy with my spec now I have seen it all at once in the flesh. Outstanding car. Got a new video of a great drive yesterday up against the Ferrari. Will come out soon.
Well, I finally picked up my Lotus Emira after waiting 21 months!! Worth the wait? Oh yes.
NIce Ade. Do you prefer this red or the red on your Ferrari?
Great editing. Enjoy.
@@JonathanLittle001 Well, I am getting a better. Long way to go!
Cheers.
Ade
lol ha ha ha "My Precious"... Gollum Gollum 😆😆😆 Also appreciate the financial info and your honesty about saving money while still driving a supercar. That's the best argument for buying an Emira over everything else that will cost 10X more to maintain. What many don't know, the best engine choice is the V6 - 3.5 toyota sourced engine which is only port injected (No high pressure fuel pump failures to worry about) and will last a long long time paired with a manual. Great choice sir.
The car has gotten better and better. The engine is indeed excellent and there are thrills to be had across the range.
I don't expect the car to actually any more than the routine servicing for the 3 years and then still reasonable as the engine and chassis are proven.
Ade
If you press and hold the start button (around 5 sec) without your foot on the clutch you can switch modes before starting if you want a louder start.
Yay! Great tip. Thanks Ken. I will try that in the morning.
Does it stay that way? Or is it every time you want a loud start you have to do that?
@@brianwalsh7040 Every time you start. I haven;t tried it yet! I did 120miles in the car today but still only done 500 in total.
You genius ♥️👏👏
Nobody told me that....off to try!!!!
You are not wrong Ade. That car is utterly glorious mate.
I have to agree. Lotus have sorted out a lot of the foibles. Remarkable car.
I have to say, it looks absolutely stunning, has a very solid and reliable engine in the Toyota-made V6 (not so big a fan of the AMG 4) and drives like a Lotus should. And you can buy 4 of them for the price of one new Ferrari. One of the best deals in sports cars right now. I honestly LOVE that Deep Verdent Green. It almost looks black in some light. And of course it's a very British color.
I agree. A supercar in looks for sportscar money.
The green is very dark but still lovely close up.
Ade
as you know, you DONT have to keep it constantly under 4000 revs.... read the handbook, mostly you should be under 4000, but NOT always...just dont go crazy... there is no problem with the odd few blips to 5/5500 or even 6000..... just NOT all the time.
AH ok. Sounds good to me. I have blipped once to just under 5k on an overtake. Mind you, have been having a load of fun below 4k as the car is GODLY sweeping through bends.👍
Man I am so jealous (in a good way!), congrats on the purchase the car looks and sounds absolutely glorious. In this day and age with OPF filters, fake sounds ect, I am happy that this exists. It is on my purchase list next year if all goes well and I was also going to go for the green and tan. However after seeing it in this video, that is A LOT darker than the configurator shows?! So perhaps see a few colours in person first haha.
Go for it! Fab car.
The green is super dark but in the light is great.
An end of era car from Lotus and they have achieved what they planned too.
Ade
First time I see one of your videos. Love your in depth and enthusiasm 😃👍
Thanks. Loads more to come.👍
Congrats, love ya excitement. Great colour/spec. I bet your so itching to push beyond them 4k revs, I know I would be. Thanks for sharing...
Ha - yeah. Really struggling. Up to 335 miles as I type this. WIll pop out in a mo and see if I bang on some more. 😇
What is not to love? Fab colour, fab car and it sounded beast going down that road.
Exactly how I feel.
Ade
Been looking forward to this video! Looking forward to you opening it up when you can! :D
Me too!! It does deliver well from 2000 to 4000 in the first 3 gears but the running in period is tough. I never buy new cars - this was an exception.
I would be the thing is beautiful but remember the prancing horse and the raging Bull are the kings it’s like there’s a Browns high end from back in the day
Yep true!
Ade
THIS IS SO INCREDIBLE! I'm SO proud of you! I can't wait until it's released into the United States, and the new AMG i4 Engine soon! (looks to be enviorment friendly, too!) Woooo! ❤️ 🙏🏼
The AMG model might well be the best performer but I am a fan of manual cars myself. More colours coming soon too.
@@RevMonkey Awesome! Shift those gears in paradise when that sun is setting! IMAGINE THAT, OH MY GOSH.
What a great car! Lotus still does it! Most of the cars available today are really not touching me in any way but this one sure does! Very, very nice!
Couldn't agree more!
It looks so remarkably pretty. It will always turn heads.
I am missing mine. It is getting an exhaust system fitted. Been 3 weeks already!
Ade
Congratulations. Great informative video thanks. I’ll collect mine in about 3 weeks and I’m glad I opted without the privacy glass because the engine in the back of yours looks ace.
Cool. You must be salivating! 😁
Yeah, the privacy is too much and, as you may know, I suspect a black roof will cause trouble too
@@RevMonkey Yes its been a while since July 21. I also went without the black pack and she is yellow with silver wheels so i'll make sure I have the sunglasses on before I get in! I can then take them off once inside the black alcantara interior.
you spec'd it just the way I would. looks fantastic.
Great minds.. yeah, I think this is the most contemporary look with the lowest maintenance!
In the best colour.
😄
Congratulations!
The car is gorgeous.
I’m also going to configure mine in Red.
Cheers from Los Angeles
Hope I helped then! Did you see my video of all 6 cars in all colors? I definitely recommend no black pack and no privacy.
In LA you will have glorious weather so you could opt for CUP2 tires and definitely get Sports suspension.
Ade
Ha. Some funny moments as usual and your kid was great. You HAVE to keep this car man.
Yeah - looks like I am now 😏
That first drive, I've never seen so many people turning their heads to look
Ha. Yeah, I did do it on purpose to gauge the response. It matched the Ferrari when I did it.
As I mentioned, I wish I was able to see it myself! 😀
Ade
You made all of the right choices. As I said in an earlier vid 'magma' red isn't my favorite, but I get it. You have a fabulous car.
Yeah. To be fair, Lotus have made such a stunningly pretty car, it would probably get away being poo brown!
HEAVY BREATHING dude
Ha. That is me when looking at it! 😁
Congratulations, lovely spec. Enjoy. I put a Larini exhaust on my Evora s and it sounded amazing.
OOh, nice. Not sure I need THIS car to be louder. I will wait until I go in an Emira with a custom can.
I am usually always changing the systems but the Emira has such lovely nuances which I will go into on the next video coming soon.
Ade
I wonder how long it will take for me to see one on the road. Very rare presently. Will be unmistakable soon and an instant classic.
Lotus have several hundred ready and waiting to go to customers - some waiting for minor parts or just a firm delivery date.
They will never be 'common' but I expect to see another randomly on the road by the summer.
Congratulations!
Lotus is Finally making a car that makes me drooling!
Yep, it sure is pretty!
Ade
This is undoubtedly the best looking car to ever come from Lotus, but its also looks fantastic against anything from Ferrari, and I would gladly have an Emira and all the thousands in the bank against any Ferrari. It looks every inch the Supercar, punching well above its weight against all similar priced competitors. That beautiful Red would have been my choice as well, and the bright exhaust tips and chrome lettering all work very well. I've said before Lotus are on an absolute roll at the moment, and whilst not for the purists their EV SUV and forthcoming 4 door coupe I think will both be a great success. Wish you good health to drive your new car!
Thanks!
Completely agree.
Lotus 2.0 are really smashing it at present. Yes, there are niggles in the transition but this car is amazing. Picking it up from being PPFd today - bit cold and snowy so might be able to get the back out 😄 Though the car is so planted it is harder than it sounds.
Ade
What a beauty, V6 sounds amazing 🤙🏾
It really does. Better than I remembered.
That COLOR!
Damn right!
I picked up my car today after having Xpel Stealth PPF on it - it has changed the colour but still remarkable.
Ade
I’m in Canada still haven’t seen one in person yet. I placed my deposit over a year ago I’m so excited for this car! Love your channel probably be another year or two before I get mine. Will be watching your channel a lot until then. Keep up the great work! Thank you ❤
PS I was debating on Hethel Yellow or your exact Spec. I have to say after seeing how yours turned out I’m 100% sold on your exact Spec
Thanks for the kind words.
I clicked over 600 miles today. 400 to go till run in.
The car is getting better and better and better in EVERY way.
It is so good and well worth the wait. Will be really rare in Canada, you will become a local legend! :D
Ade
Yeah, I think it is the best colour for the car.
It just looks so special. It infers quality and kudos as it immediately hits one like a Ferrari. Bit dark in the clouds but amazing when in the sun.
Ade
I’m loving the Yellow Callipers on the Red really makes it pop. I was going to go Black pack and tinted windows. I totally agree with you NO tint on windows and NO black pack on the top. After your comparison it shed light on it. So thank you again!
@@drajmalshawar Ah, so glad I have helped you with that. Excellent. 👍
I am impressed with the tech in this new Lotus. They have gone in the right direction. This care makes a lot of sense to me and many others. It should pinch a lot of Porsche sales.I get the impression you thought the car was stunning :D
Yes, I expect POrsche buyers to be seduced by the beauty of the Emira. It might take a year to see Emiras more regularly. The car will then become more popular.
perhaps, but the tech is way way behind the latest porsches, as is reliablility, many faults on initial cars... 360 cameras? no... ADAS, lane control, warnings... not on this model....
@@garymurraya Yeah. The Cayman and base 911 are better cars. The Emira is more of an emotional purchase and one has to realise it is not built like a German car. Still, emotion often wins for many and it is an amazing car. It is getting better on every drive and I can tell you that those in German cars will be shedding tears in their nice war, comfortable seats listening to their better stereo without things falling off 😁
Ade
Love your spec. I thought I was the only one who found that privacy glass somewhat destroyes the side profile. I also agree that it looks so much better with a non black roof. The only colours that look better with a black roof are yellow and blue.
Yeah, my thoughts.
The only thing I actually prefer out of the packs that I did not want, was the black exhaust tips. I would have liked those but no biggie!
Hahaha you're like a big kid, when it drove out the showroom and you were given the key. I'd jumping up and down too. Congrats
lol you could get some drones to follow you then display the feed from your Android phone to the in car screen.
Yeah, I have 2 drones but they are hard work and really need two people. I do love drone footage and have used it a lot recently. I will use it a bit more when I can.
@@RevMonkey What drones do you have?
Congrats on the collection and thanks for the awesome review!!! I would be watching this multiple times until I get mine
Sweet. What spec have you opted for? V6 or AMG 4cyl?
@WhichBike V6 manual sir the only way it should be speced.. Dark Verdant with black wheels yellow calipers and Alcantara with yellow stitches and the full black pack
@@mdnajibulhossain5827 Dark destroyer! 😃 It is worth the wait!
@WhichBike 😄😄 dark destroyer I like that.. thanks for the reassurance your video definetly stopped my mind from wondering around.
@@mdnajibulhossain5827 Ha, whatever you do, don't get a Cayman. You will be devastated every time you see an Emira!
Enjoy it in great health my friend. Lovely specs
Thanks for your kind words. So far, I am really loving it. Even better than I had hoped.
The lotus looks incredible in red, I do wish the green would have been a much lighter shade too. All black or all green no inbetween lol
Yep, exactly.. I saw a stunning metallic green on a Ferrari 296 at Brooklands yesterday and I would have definitely gone with that.
Banger 👌🏼🔥💯 sweet looks on that car
Yep, She is a beauty.
Lovely to see a Magma red Emira get delivered, yours is a nearly identical spec to the one I have on order, although I have specced touring as on the south coast most of the roads are like driving on the moon. I'd live to see it in the flesh as I've still yet to see the red or Nimbus (my 2nd choice) in real life. P.s. keep the Emira and the Ferrari, sell the Merc!
Ha, the Merc is up for sale already. I have 2 or 3 months to keep these two.
I was down in Worthing a couple of days ago.
I am in Walton-on-Thames. You are more than welcome to come up here and I will take you out in it. I have given loads of people a ride!
Ade
@Which Bike many thanks for offer, I'm rarely up there but will message you if I do get that way. I need to see Magma and Nimbus in real life before making a final decision, but I've got a few months!
@@paultune1696 Yeah, they are my fave 2 colours. Tough choice.
Even if the Cayman is the better car, this smashed is overall. SO sexy.
100% agree there! 😋
Nice review! Car looks and sounds incredible. I'd say get rid of the Ferrari. The Emira has equal if not better looks, looks like it's going to be a blast to drive, and at a reasonable price for maintenance. Can't beat that!
Yeah. most people saying the Ferrari should go. It does make more sense in nearly every way. Yeah, I am surprised how good the Emira sounds in the Track setting, all opened up. It is the sounds inside that are even better as mentioned in the video. Terrific car so far. Will pop out in a mo, get some more miles on it.
Ade
From 60 k That is peanuts in today's market some supercars you can pay more then 60 grand in extras !!!
For sure. A stock 296 GTB is 250k but they have been bought at £340!!
This car, all in, was £80K and I suspect we will never actually see a £60 Emira - come the time.
@@RevMonkey It Looks like a quarter million pound car !! A lot of people would mistake it for a Ferrari no doubt !!
Nice, I’d prefer silver wheels tbh but you’re right with privacy glass option and lower black
I do like the silver wheels on most colours but chose the lazy cleaning option 😶
@@RevMonkey silver is the lazy option, black wheels show brake dust more :D
@@Malinkadink You might be right but not to my eyes. The silver wheels on the Ferrari are much worse.
Silver but I like the black pack on the red if the windows aren't darken. Like the show casing on the engine.
Yeah. Surprised people want to hide it. It looks excellent and very, very few cars at this level show an engine off.
Ferraris I know summer going alloy bodies some of the older ones I just Steel have the lightness I think they’re making them out of more aluminium that’s some Ferraris are aluminium and fibreglass so it’s got a aluminium shell and then it’s covered in fibreglass that’s why you’re paying $200,000 just for the body because it all has to be hand done
Wow congratulations! It's a beauty
Thanks. I agree!! On looks alone it slaughters any competition.
I love the silver exhaust tips with the black diffuser but, I wish that the Lotus lettering was black. I will have to black that out on mine.
Yeah, fair enough. The silver would have popped nicely on the dark green car. Either way, for me, it is such a small thing I won't bother. Then again... everybody loves a tinker.
Ade
@@RevMonkey , I think that is really the bottom line, I can’t wait to “tinker” with that machine. One other project for me is powder coating the Supercharger cover red since I think that there is color missing in the engine room😉
Beautiful car, very nice first impression video
The car is getting better and better too. Loving it.
Ade
I like the green on Tan with the bright alloy wheels
Yeah, excellent combo. I think the green is too dark overall but once in the sun it is amazing.
I'd put yellow stripes on it!
Ade
Great, get PPF to protect thin paint, and when the PPF goes to shit, you’ll peel the paint off with the protective film when you remove it. Here’s a trick to avoid countless dings on your paint, quit driving so close to the car in front of you, especially big trucks. Enjoy your car, it looks beautiful!
Ha, yeah. The car is being PPF and ceramic coated/protected inside and out. I will worry about that in 10 years - hopefully no sooner.
I intend to track it and play very rough with it so it made sense, plus I get a discount.
Ade
Pretty much my order! but I need a soft top.
A targa version , like the Exige, would have been awesome. Alas, they will not make one. Maybe I should give my Emira to Lotus and ask them to make it a Targa! :D
I Love The Black Pack(Roof,Rims & The Exhaust Tips).
Fair enough. They do look good. You also get the LOTUS lettering on the rear in black which does look better. I had mine blackened at GVE when doing the PPF:
ua-cam.com/video/5HrgjACwEe8/v-deo.html
Great detail. Enjoyed that. I am waiting to see what the AMG version is like before making a decision on the car.
Thanks.
I suspect the AMG variant will be really good and perhaps the car that people most rave about in terms of performance. I think the First Edition V6 manuals will remain the most sought after though. Certainly no rush and driving both seems like a good idea.
Gotta be manual for me, now just need to find someone to lend me 80grand
Great real world video of the new Emira and collection process.
A tough choice on what to sell, for me it would be the Ferrari due to the likely running costs over a couple of years compared to the Emira.
Looking for ward to more content on this lovely car.
Yeah, the Ferrari is by far the most sensible sale on the surface but this end or era manual V8 should go up a LOT in price over the next decade.
@@RevMonkey
First world problems!
Good luck with your dilemma.
Both lovely cars. 👍
@@julianadams2206 Yeah. Looks like somebody is buying my C63 so the Ferrari will last at least a few months more.

I’m a big AMG fan (I’ve got 2, one old and 1 current model ) so sad to hear that your 63 is going. However, having the 430 and Emira as a pair is lovely. 👍
@@julianadams2206 Yeah. It made more sense to keep the C63 with one of those.
Right now, the Ferrari might go in the Spring and I will think about my next purchase.
The Emira is really standing out as an excellent purchase right now.
The Green and Tan was stunning and the black pack is cool.
Yeah, green and tan is a superb combo but the green is really dark. Nimbus with red leather looks good too.
Very happy with red indeed. Stands out a lot.
Ade
@@RevMonkey yep- enjoy :)
Congratulations sir on your amazing Emira!
Is it a fantastic car and getting better as time goes on!
Ade
Congratulations !!! In my opinion silver wheels would have a better choice to match with silver exhaust, something doesn't work but I am not the the one who paid😄😂. I have been proposed a First Edition to config 2 weeks ago, didn' t make the deal but I regret it even it was a big amount of money (50k € of eco taxes for France, who would pay 152K€ for an Emira in the UK?). This car is gorgeous. The V6 Base Edition is tempting me a lot indeed.
Yeah, a lot of money in some places as the tax is ridiculous.
I might have gone with black tip exhausts but that only came with the black roof which I defnitely didn't want. Still easy enough to coat them. I am not worried about really.
I like all wheels but, in this case, I just thought that silver would be a nightmare for brake dust and I am a lazy git 😁
50k € in eco tax?! Wow, thats horrific!
@@wings9925 France is a nightmare for brend new & powerful sportscars🥲. It' s quite double the prize of an Emira....Tou have to think twice before leaving a deposit. She' s not a bargain here...
@@TheOrangeEliseCup250 does the same apply if you import from another country? I imagine it would, sadly
@@TheOrangeEliseCup250 is this also why the beautiful Alpine A110 had a small capacity 4-cylinder engine? The new R model is wonderful, but in a global market where it competes with the Cayman GT4 and other more powerful 6-cylinder cars its out of its depth. They're a rare sight on UK roads, sadly, despite being achingly beautiful and great fun to drive
At least you got yours at the price you were quoted. It looks great. Maybe I should have been a youtuber. My deposit was paid in 2021, and the car goes into build in July 2023, but now Lotus are telling me that my 5k deposit means nothing for the price I was quoted. The car will cost an extra 7k. Poor show😡☹️
Really? That is not good. So they are now saying that they will NOT hold the price as quoted at the time of the deposit? I know there is contract until the money is paid in full but that is disappointing. 🤥
@Which Bike yes not holding price even though Mick Windle promised they would on video. And the feedback you get from Lotus is shocking. This was going to be a dream car for me now. I can't
afford the price and will have to cancel. Enjoy your car happy motoring 👍
I wasnt sure on alcanatara but ther is a lot of leather in the car so maybe it is the way to go. I need to sit on one.
The seats are comfy enough with lots of adjustment. Has lumbar support two.
The mix of leather and Alcantara really works well and it is a lovely smell! 😆
No donnot get rid of mesh. that u can see shift linkage is special
Yeah, I will not touch it.
You don’t need to think. You need to FEEL. Therein lies the answer.
Yep, and this car FEELS EPIC! 😀
At last Lotus has made a car the late Colin Chapman would be proud of!!.♥️🇬🇧
Well, he had a preference for lightweight drivers car which this is not BUT it is a car that appeals the massie, it gorgeous to look at and will make money - on that basis he would have surely been delighted.
The car is something to be proud of for sure and it retains the Lotus magic.
Ade
not my colour of choice but it does look stunning indeed. needs black exhausts and lotus lettering on the rear though.
I am starting to think that black tip would look better and therefore black lettering would then work better. For now, it is a non-issue on my mind. If I come to upgrade the car a lot then these things might happen.
My first move is likely to get the carbon parts planned for the car later this year.
Does the clutch pedal positioning laying closer to where the center brake pedal usually is in most other sports cars take getting used to? And is the clutch uptake near the bottom or closer to the top? Thanks!
The clutch is pushed down and almost immediately when removing your foot, it engages so it is easy to stall the first time you drive it.
I have stalled it a few times now but that is mainly not putting enough revs on and the fact that ,y other manual is the complete opposite!
All in all, once you set off you are fine from then on.
I find the pedals okay but are a bit close together and, yes, slightly askew. No great problem as you get used to it in minutes.
Ade
Congrats!
Thanks, really enjoying it.
I’m really more interested in the AMG lump …there’s more potential there, the reliability of the Toyota mill notwithstanding. Keeping the Evora for now
Yeah, the AMG is the way to go for power and a bit lighter, certainly for track use.
I'd love one of each and perhaps that might even happen if I ALSO get the planned GT.
I have always said that nobody should change an Evora or Exige for an Emira. It is a step down in rawness BUT a massive leap in comfort, tech and beauty - in my opinion.
Personally, I'd love an early Elise or a later Exige along with the Emira.
Ade
Congrats. Great to see your excitement. Looks amazing .. friggin stunning 😂… Sell Ferrari. I’m waiting on an Emira dark verdant, silver wheels, yellow callipers, tan, lower black pack and no privacy screen. Expecting Q3 this year. I’m very lucky to also have series 3 Elise in yellow.
Cheers, Chris. You must have loved the Verdant in this video. It looked the lightest I have seen it under those lights. IT was my first choice before we saw it and still an amazing colour with contrasting leather.
Good man on the no privacy and black pack.. especially on the verdant.
Ah, yellow and green. Perfect. Will make an epic picture!
Ade
Fantastic Toyota engineering.
Yeah, who'd have thought 😄
Great video - thanks ! I have a deposit on one in Canada 🇨🇦 - ETA 2025 !
Wow, that is a long wait!!!! Will be a bit longer than even my 21 months.
Worth it in the end. I assume yours will be the AM version which will be great and you will have more options on colours and carbon, etc.

Already got one of my dream cars. Still hoping to get an Emira soon😍
Great. The Emira reallty hits a sweet spot in anybody's garage but does depend on what they already have. I am liking it more and more. Great drive out today with my friend driving the Ferrari. Video coming soon. Emira held its own.
@@RevMonkey totaly! i just got a brand new Audi RS3. Similar car with 400 ps but it offers much more comfort. But I really need either a Porsche or an Emira to really hit my sweet spot as well. It has such an aggressive sound and the car is beautiful!

let the Ferrari go
I did.. The Emira won and still loving it. Watch my 1 year of ownership and Larini exhaust videos!
Red sure looks good and better than the dark one and the silver one. Steering wheel looks a bit weird. Is it okay to use?
It feels amazing! It works fine. Bit quirky when you need to turn a lot given the shape but pretty cool.
Can't wait to hear the AMG engine.
Yeah. I don' think anybody has heard it yet! I doubt it is nicer than the V6 but it might have more pops which some people might have.
Later on, it might be easier to mod to change the sound and certainly the performance.
The beauty of a lotus over a Ferarri is the cheaper running costs
Of course, absolutely no argument. No denying the Ferrari is the better experience but the average person has to go into it with his eyes open.
The Lotus has cost me nothing in 14 months from new.
The Ferrari.. several thousand.
I now think the lotus is the better car since I added the Larini exhaust. Gives it more of an experience each time I drive it. Love it.
The smoked 'rear side windows' are completely pointless because there's no one in the back to be blocked out!
Ha,. very good point!
If you have the black roof then the privacy glass makes sense as it all then looks like one piece
It does definitely make more sense and works best on the yellow.
Certainly not for me and I stick by my remarks in general.
Still, it is such a madly gorgeous car, it could be cover in bird poo and still look devastating.
I used to have a Lotus watch. It was quite nice.
Did it break? 😄
Gaps on both sides makes it appear as though the bonnet is bent upward.
A few people have said that! Like it has had a frontal collision.
I can see it if I really look but overall it is a unique styling cue and sets the car apart. Nobody knows what it is as it comes towards them!

Sports. I couldn't being myself to get touring on a great sports car like this. The difference is not that large so it doesn't really, really matter.
I do find the Sports a touch more crashy but this is made up by better dynamics around all bend types and a sportier feel.
Certainly love it so I am very happy with my decision.
I'm intrigued what you do/did for a living?
All this is out of a pension I had when I worked in the City as a broker. That stopped in 2002 and have been doing marketing roles since. Moral of the story is "stick as much money into work and private pensions as possible".

I wouldn't sell a manual F430! Its value is only going one way.
Yeah, I know - this makes it an even more painful decision that I know I will regret. Depends how much money I can make with the cash equivalent instead really.

Toss the Bently and get her a Tesla Model Y... this will free up the money and save on fuel economy 👍 awesome Emira btw!!!
Ha - You are of course right. Makes a lot of sense. I suspect the missus won't go for that. I will likely sell the Merc and we will look for an electric small car.

Silver exhaust tips to make them pop optically.....
My new exhaust system is being fitted. I am not sure what the new tips will be like. I don't really mind now. The PPF company changed the LOTUS lettering on the back to black so maybe the tips will now be better darker.
Looks stunning, except the bonnet, which looks crumpled from the side, bit odd.
Ha, a few people seem to think it has had a perfect frontal collision.
I don't see that. I just see an awesome styling sue which adds to the supercar look. It also makes it more modern looking and perhaps away from the look of McLarens. etc.
"Dodgy music".....great track!! 😃
haha. Nice one. I do like a bit of Trance. 🤗
@@RevMonkey 🙌🏻 Epic.
0:57 what is the white car in the back? Plate: MXI8 KD
Lotus Evora. Not sure the exact model. The Emira replaced it.
I saw one on the road in Milan italy looks amazing
Good spot! They are really rare.
I do believe it is prettier than many Ferraris. It would have made for an excellent new Ferrari Dino! 😀
Ade
@@RevMonkey I totally agree with you when I saw it I though it was a ferrari than I saw the lotus on it, I couldn't believe how good looking this car is.
@@wagnertheitalianflipper9047 Praise indeed when a car like this gets the Italians excited! As you may know, I have a Ferrari as well. Both amazing cars.

@@RevMonkey indeed
If you got a nose Ferrari keep it where it’s a rare items especially if it’s before 458 They going up not down
Yes, I believe so.

Manual gearbox What else do you need?? congratulation
I have to agree. That and the noise sets this car apart from all the V8 cars that came after it.
Wish the 4cyl was available with the manual.
Yeah, comes as a complete unit of course so never was going to be possible. I would have liked to have seen the 6 cyl DCT engine and gearbox from the Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio!! 😁🙂

I did not see anywhere handbrake button... Where is it?
It is down and right of the steering wheel.
It is annoying as it is a bit of a reach to activate it, especially when stopped on a hill.
At least the car has hill assist.

Sounds great corner of Ferraris sound is like the Ferrari sound is a pro in the Lotus is the MP still sounds great rule mobilear
Both sound good. The Lotus is getting a new exhaust system. I am picking it up on Friday!
Ade
silver exhaust makes it “pop out”. black would blend in and u would barely see exhaust
Yeah, I prefer the latter actually but I guess it doesn't matter so long as it sounds good!
Love the red... I'd swap over the silver exhaust tip covers to black and do the same with the "LOTUS" badging on the back, but that's just me. I spec'd mine Seneca Blue with the black pack. Can't wait! :)
A few questions for you. I drove an Emira that they sent to the US and agree the brakes are grabby, but was told that they didn't have the correct rotors on the demo car and that the US spec will be different. Can you verify if you got the 2-piece rotors? Additionally, I felt the clutch was very hard, did you find the same when you picked up the car? How is it now a month later? Thanks!
Yeah, the Lotus badging is now black after my satin PPF in my other video. It is now getting an exhaust system and I believe they are changing the tips and that they will be dark.
No idea about the brakes! Still 'grabby' when you first get it relative to other cars but after that it is fine and the brakes are excellent.
The clutch bite is right at the start of the return travel and will catch people out at first but, again, it is a non-issue after that. It does seem to allow for faster changes.
The car has basically just got better and better. This is a case of warming up and me getting used to it. It is utterly awesome. If anybody says anything different then they drive cars are more powerful, light and raw and just don;t actually get what the Emira does.

@@RevMonkey got it, I suspected as much. It's all good, I'm sure these things will be improved with time - or there's always aftermarket. Not terribly concerned... Just waiting for my baby! 🥰
@@brois841 The AMG 4 cytl might end be being the tuners car but it will be the V6 that will likely stay the most desirable.
@@RevMonkey I'm sure of it, but I'll be tuning my V6. The engine can handle gobs of power, without issue it's the transmission I'll have to worry about. Thankfully JUBU has lots of experience there and I'll be beefing it up. US deliveries were pushed to at least October, so this won't be happening for a little while, unfortunately.
@@brois841 Not sure there is a solution to make the transmission more robust or did somebody di this for the Exige/Evora.
Nice to add another 50hp and would be happy to pay 5k for that
I wouldn’t mind owning one of these. For the price there are several options so it’s a tough sell.
Yeah. Great car. I am really enjoying it.

This the one to keep!!
It is amazing. 4600 miles later I am still loving it!
