I had actually forgotten I'd made a video on this like twelve years ago, but at least this one has more info. there's not a whole lot of Symbian OS malware out there, but I do plan to cover it as completely as I can. - Наука та технологія

S60v1, gotta love it... I had Siemens SX1 so the OS was expanded with FM radio support and hardware MP3 decoder. Music playback battery life was awesome compared to the Nokias. I kinda miss the damn thing.
The old SymbOS videos are some of my favorites of yours. Looking forward to anything else you might have in store!
Interesting to see this show up again. Both nostalgia and a weird happiness. Also old phones are now just a snake machine. So that's all that matters.
Not really they are still very practical i use a Nokia 3330 at work everyday

Might be a wrong guess, but in "Denglisch" a combination of German and English as it is standard here in the german business world, this could have been 'marketed' as a "boot tone" kinda Add-On for your phone.

Fixed phones with Cabir several times for my fiend. He worked on the construction site back then (i don't remember year), and there was infection :) One of the phones he brought me, was Nokia N91 with 4gb hdd! I remember, that i used utility from Kaspersky.
I saw this vid a couple of times in my recommended but didnt play because i thought it was an old one
So glad it's not really happy to see new content for such an obsolete little thing

It’s possible. Although I’m hesitant to make remake videos of remake videos, even though those remake videos are now 10+ years old themselves. If it comes down to that or no more (or greatly reduced) videos, I’d probably opt to make them. Maybe this is a question for the community at large.

Been a while since we've had a Symbian 7.x malware video.
You know, at least the phone still lets you do phone calls. Good guy Thunderbird, wrecks your phone, but not to the extent that you can't call for emergency services if you needed to.

anyway, i didn't expect to recognize the heart t icon so quickly. my friend had this phone and, by extension, this virus. back then, i didn't even know phones could get viruses at all...

I wonder if people were able to transfer files onto that phone's storage through a computer cable via a computer to that phone, and store documents like a USB drive, or a pocket briefcase.

@@JOHNWICK-5903.5 That's cool. I didn't think old phones had that capability. Though I can imagine then have very low storage, like 100 megabytes. I use my phone like a USB drive and carry files around, and edit them through the USB by laptop.
you could use it as a vault for important documents i guess, who would go looking for data on a nokia

My Samsung s20 has about the same length of the screen staying on by default. I ended up getting an app which forces it on.
