Thanks for watching everybody! Do you like Fan Fret guitars or nah?
You can check out the guitar here: bit.ly/36sIf62
Apex sounded incredible 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼
Im not a *FAN*, cuz they feel a bit weird to me. But I'm sure that after playing a fan-fret for a week or so it will be impossible to come back
never had the opportunity to try fan fret or headless guitars yet. do you have to send those guitars back ? corporations are usually like government - nothing for free and they squeeze everything they can out of you .
Apex is badass .
never had a chance to play one yet and Pete, you rock man !!!! Awesome kick ass tune in the vid 🤘🏼
8 strings and up need to be fan fret imo. My fan fret took a little bit to get used to but I love it
I love how Andrew Baena called the finish "Lasagna Burst"
Gave me a chuckle, thanks
I read this comment just now, and it gave me a chuckle. I wanted to comment, then I noticed I had liked and commented three years ago. Guess my humor hasn't changed 🤣
Schecter nailed it. The first mass production multiscale 7 that doesn't make any glaring mistakes imo
i have to ask what all the others did wrong in your opnion
@@punkrockmartian mounting the pickups straight (even strandberg did this... fun with muddy low strings and piercing top strings), setting the perpendicular fret in a stupid location (so many put it on the 12th, which is just akward on the lower frets. anything between 7 and 10 is fine), cutting off the fretboard straight after the nut and leaving that little pointless triangle that looks idiotic. matter of taste that one, but i can't imagine anyone telling me that the way it's done on this schecter doesn't look better than what's on the RGMS7 for example. also i'd much rather have this bridge than the ABM single saddle individual bridges, those are fiddly AF.
they didnt nail it they stapled it.
@@givemeajackson I was initially confused because my strandberg has the pickups angled. Never noticed that some of them are straight.
Schecter will always be my favorite guitar brand for many reasons. the finishes on their guitars is one of these reasons
That Carcass song sounded incredible on that guitar
I loved it. Forgot how much I love that album.
What's the name of the song?
@@aghastinagharta Incarnated Solvent Abuse. I can't believe I remembered that. Theres a video for it on here.
@@jstro-hobbytech Incarnated Solvent Abuse, from the Necroticism record
The two sound completely different and are in different keys. They just have similar structures. Lul
12:27. Black basecoat with a metalic silver on top. They use a scrunched up plastic bag to lay on top and peel off some of the metallica silver, creating the texture. They then lay candy red on top before lacquer. Very nice finish.
I used to use this technique to paint rc car shells. Although I just used metallic colours instead of the silver and candy over it. Very very cool finish and can never be exactly the same as another.
That was probably the best explanation of multi scale guitars I've ever heard.
Hey Pete, literally shouted "YES" as soon as I heard the first three notes the this BANGER. Love that piece so much and I haven't heard it in years :,)
UGH THE TONE IS BRRRRRUUUUUUTAL
That is a insane looking guitar! Loving what Schecter is doing with their designs lately
sweet new mix on apex 2.0, been a while since i heard that one, sounds even clearer than on the original.
oh, and that finish is killer. you should have bled on it, though. even more metal
I actually did haha, check out my insta story from earlier today. Thanks for watching! :)
Schecter absolutely delivers when it comes to quality and tone. The reason the guitar is so well protected is because most manufacturers end up damaging their products during delivery. BC Rich for example, had to postpone a recent series launch because the guitars they planned to model were too beat up upon arrival, with some even breaking their necks. Schecter is the one company that I have never had an issue with and I applaud their innovative work ethic.
Alternative Opening Title - *Pete uses struggle*
I owned a c7, back when the frets weren't fanned and schecters were cheaper. It was like 2-250$. Loved it. I miss it.
I really needed Apex 2.0 right now, man. A very warm and nostalgic feeling. Made me smile. Thanks Pete :)
I really love how you went from the heavy downpicking riff, and went straight to the solo after cutting the drums to half time, that was amazing.
Awesome. I love the sound of that guitar! Great song also, with a "Wintery" vibe!
I've been wanting to try a new schecter guitar for a while and I think this video put me over the edge where I have to go get one now. Great video my dude.
Love the video !
I have the Silver Mountain and it's sooo good I can't stop playing it
Glad you played apex 2.0. I love that track. It's in my instrumental playlist and I listen to apex 2.0 when I have terrible days with my anxiety. Keep killing it Pete
That song Apex 2.0 is very nostalgic to me. Its been so long since it first came out
Oh man, that bad boy's a hell of a beast to hear and look at 😍
Never really been a huge Schecter guy aside from Synyster Gates' custom but damn I want that 7 string so bad!
Pete, I love your song so much , actually it’s my daily wake up call on the phone, first sound reaching my ears every day! Thanks and stay safe ...
Schecter is kicking asses right now! Cheers Pete
I just bought this guitar and I am excited to play this sonic weapon, thanks for the video. AWESOME ! Shredding, please keep the videos coming \m/ \m/
Hey Pete! Beautiful finish on that Schecter and sounds great. I got guitar envy brother.
Great review and the song sounds so beautiful :)
"Nobody uses tone knobs", I reckon you do a video where you write a song with only one amp tone, and any clean or crunchy or lead bits have to be done with just the pickup selector and tone knob!
But there was more complicated tone circuit, completely different than standard, created just for those pickups. Standard tone circuit is just "with highs or without highs", nothing more.
Goddamn y'all took a joke too seriously. Lol. Saying Pete is a terrible player just because he doesn't use a tone knob. Seriously?
Also you can still do plenty on a guitar with no tone knob. I always remove the tone knob out of my circuit to completely remove it's effect, and I still get plenty of sounds out of it. Different pickup selections, rolling the volume knobs back, changing the dynamics of your playing etc... In my opinion it's just another knob and wire that can get in the way, both physically and tonally.
@@agropsychonaut
"Soon as i heard him play i realized he is someone who doesn't have a honed enough ear to heard the intricacies of tone,"
You assumed "he is someone who doesn't have a honed enough ear to heard the intricacies of tone," because he said "nobody uses tone knobs.
"he's obviously just a chunk chunk chunk kind of guitarist."
Yet in this video he did more than just "chunk," or "chug."
There are plenty of amazing guitar players out there who don't use tone knobs. It doesn't mean they don't "have a honed enough ear to heard the intricacies of tone." You can get your tone many more ways than having to use a tone knob.
'intricacies of tone', lol its a low pass filter. It literally surpresses the higher frequencies of your frequency band.
In what universe is that something that can only be heard by a honed ear. Thats like saying the average joe cant hear the difference between a tritone and a perfect 5th. Everyone can, even if they dont know what it is by name anyone can hear it.
@@molomono9481 @Theenragedone You guys don't understand. In order to understand tone, you need to use master a control who's sole purpose is to make your guitar sound like its covered in blankets.
Thank you for this video, brand new to your channel. Very cool playing too. I have seen this model in different colors at several different Guitar Centers and a Sam Ash. Out of all of the Schecters that I have seen in the last 10 plus years, this model is exceptional. Will be budgeting some money to buy one some day.
Nice review, awesome demo track.
Man, you have very great technical skills when it comes to picking. Incredible!
Schecter blew it out of the park with the C7 elite multiscale with Fishman Fluence (2018) and I've played that for almost 3yrs now..🤘
9:10 .. man killer riffage! And the section after is golden
That finish is sick too!
*I jammed on one and loved the tones! 🎶🎵 Sick demo!*
Those riffs were just amazing ,now the choice for finding new riffs choice are even more bigger !
Looks and sounds phenomenal!
I just had Apex on loop today! Nice timing!
So sick!🤘🏼
I have a Schecter C6+ guitar and it sounds absolutely incredible. It has a string thru bridge and sustainer pickups and I find that it does everything that I could have imagined. It is my go to guitar for recording, jamming, or just practicing. The neck is super comfortable and easy to move around.
TL DR: I have a schecter and I love that thing
Cheers from California USA. Love the vid. Really considering this guitar. I too play a 6505. Love the tone this guitar gives. Amazing!! Great job on the video
Man your riffs really are something else. Cheers
Thanks! :)
Awesome axe! That finish is right up my alley. Red and black? YAAASSS!
Sounds chunky!
Beautiful playing on the main song. Had to scroll comments to learn the name of the song. Utterly beautiful. Very great guitar. Ordered a toxic venom colored one (green) due to arrive soon.
awesome song there at the end
Like this finish even more than the silver mountain! Looks ridiculously good!
Thank you for melodic solo that isnt full of a billion notes, but rather notes I can count and notes that actually speak and share feeling. Right on brother great video just like you do !!!!!!
awesome guitar!
love the song, too
Nice shirt Pete its so Epic:) greetings from Poland;)
Sounds great and nice tune as well.
Carcass riff right out of the box.
Well done, sir. Well done. 🤘
Your song is bloody brilliant!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Sick guitar! This tune has mad "old school Arch Enemy" vibes, by the way.
Urghhh! That finished color was so Attractive!🥺❣️
Oh wow, this song sure brings back memories
That is a brutal color. Love that song you used. Classic. \m/
Thanks! :)
@@peteplaysmusic I think it is the best review!
epic tune!
That was a welcome treat for my ears.
Damn thats nice! The song reminds me of Insomnium, very nice! Keep it up brother!
Looks incredible! Pickups sound a bit muddy for my taste, but some aftermarket pickups will have that sorted in no time. Hoping to see this guitar in another vid sometime soon!
I really like the pickups in this, they have some bite to them but they’re not super modern. I’ll definitely be using it again in more videos. Thanks for watching! :)
I think they sound awesome
Yeess, this song brings me back. It's an awesome song 🔥 nice Schecter too
I got me a Schecter last year and it's my number one and will be there for a long time. It's got the Sustainiac in the neck and a SD Full Shred in the bridge. Real Floyd trem, locking tuners, ebony fretboard...it is also in a Sweetwater exclusive finish called Aquaburst. Just gorgeous. It was the best $1200 I have ever spent on a guitar. This one is just a badass. I love that finish. Looks like it's playing metal without being played.
Unrelated to the guitar but can i just say how much i adore Apex 2.0?? Its a beautiful song and i just love it so much pete,, youre a huge inspiration and this song among many others that youve written i have a very soft spot for. Keep rocking
Thanks you so much! :)
Cool guitar. Love the song too, good one
"No one uses tone knobs". That would piss off Colin of CSGuitars 😂
Haha, I’ve actually had that discussion with him. Thanks for watching! :)
They are available, I bought mine a couple weeks ago. I’m getting it tomorrow!
Awesome guitar, awesome track, and definitely - an awesome player!
Thanks! :)
Schecter did a great investment sending you this guitar to do a demo of. I mean it went HEEAAVVEY 🤘
I really enjoyed you cutting your finger on that box! Subscribed =)
I will take that as a compliment 😀
@@peteplaysmusic it totally was a compliment ❤
Love Schecter (even if I've only played one haha!) Got the Omen Extreme 7 which is my first and only 7 string at the moment and it plays amazing! I'd love to get my hands on the C7 fan fret - always wanted a fanned fret guitar!
Aw man, such a cool track at the end of this video. Nice to hear this again. How about some new material Pete? Are you inspired lately? Hopefully having this new beast in your hands will inspire some new heavy and amazing tracks.
That finish is insane 🤩
sick 🤘
This was genuinely a good metal song easy to listen to and grasp but still satisfying and brutal
the song was killer dude, got some major Marty Friedman vibes from the first part of the solo!
Most excellent review and sweet song but!! I'm definitely in love with this guitar and it's price. Normally a single cut guy but can appreciate style beyond that!
Welcome back Apex2.0. You were missed
With that tone sound fucking cool, and also looks really really good
Besides the look it looks so comfortable to play and the tone is fucking sick
I have a C7 deluxe. I love it. Always been a big fan is Schecter...
Damn what a beauty! :D
I do use the tone knob. To go from a tight chugging tone to a sludge doom tone is a matter of rolling the tone knob down and switching to the neck pickup on the same amp settings.
I tried this guitar, loved for the most part, I would have gone for a slightly thinner neck and also a satin finish on the back of it.
That was sick.
Man I love that tone. You're getting that from that 6505 mh? Very nice. Also love the guitar
That is my dream guitar. Ive been wanting it so bad. Your so lucky bro! I have the omen extreme 6 black cherry and I love it but that blood moon silver mountain is like the big daddy to what I have lol but I want the sustaniac version. 😆
Love my omen 6 got emg 81r 89tw set in mine though the stock pickups are great. I had a Keith merrow km7 km2 but it wouldn't stay in tune long and body was to thing for an evertune bridge installation. Got a roland electric drum set and really liking the drums hardly playing guitar anymore 😕
Man I like this guitar. I mean a lot. Like it might be my new dream guitar
As soon as I saw those staples just chilling there, I knew what was about to happen
That's a sweet Dark Tranquillity song you just wrote!
Always been a fan of Schecter but I have to say this guitar looks like it's doing a LOT of things right. Picked up an Ibanez RGA71AL (god the name) a few weeks back and love it, but if I was to look at 7s again in the future I'd definitely want to get my hands on this to try, the look and sound (especially without going 3rd party on the pickups) are actually really nice.
That guitar looks sick.
Nice to see someone else that plays with their right hand open. I've tried to do the closed hand technique and it does not work for me, I'm nothing without my pinky anchored down lol. Nice axe and jams bro!
Damn, these riffs sound delicious, i wish i could buy an electric guitar.
Btw nice guitar, now i want multiscale too:)
could use some of that pearlescent binding to make it look more premium
Just listened to one of your songs on band camp, loved it! Is any of your music available on cd?
New toys for big boys😜 sounds killer man glad you chose that tune I have been caught humming it to myself at work while my crew laughs at me lol.i don't care Pete and Andrew B are part of my daily sanity listening on my breaks🤘
I bought my brother a Schecter for Christmas as his first proper guitar (: nothing crazy, only in the $300 range and paired with an Orange Crush 20rt but Schecter is awesome, I love my 006 Elite from 2005.
Can’t think of anyone I’d want to jam with more, or a guitar I’d like to jam on more!
I got the silver mountain 8 and honestly wish i wouldve waited for this to drop
It sounds as good as the version you did with the Siggi Braun Fafnyr ^^
If I remember well it was with the 7 strings (green one)
