I just played one today. Having not really got on with 7 strings in the past, I realised that the fanned frets make all the difference. Absolute beast of a guitar.
For those considering this guitar. I’ve owned Aristides, Kiesel, Strandberg and Abasi’s This guitar stacks up to Kiesels and Strandys I’ve had. If you make simple upgrades like locking tuners, steel frets, and pups, you have yourself an exceptionally well made “mid range” guitar. I’m actually baffled how little known this guitar is with how well designed it is. If it weren’t for the nickel frets I’d say it’s a steal for the price. Anyhow, highly recommend this guitar!
@tshred666 IMO stainless frets feel smoother where as someone might say that nickel frets feel more “real” or “human” Hopefully someone chimes in to provide a better comparison 😅
@@tshred666 makes no difference . Some people say stainless last longer but if you play the guitar everyday for a lifetime you might need 2 refrets with nickel vs 1 with stainless
i ordered mine a year ago itll be in april 20th, cant wait . shes gorgeous. Update my dude, i just got it yesterday finally only took one year but being lefty they basically had to make a new one for me. So far shes great. What vst do you like to use for your gain tones?
This guitar in that blue finish is on my wishlist. Found the orange finish version in used condition in my guitar store and tried it out and fell in love. Albeit, the price is more attractive for the used one in orange, but im longing for a blue one to be in contrast of my hellraiser's red quilted maple top.
@@InGrindWeCrust2010 I ended up getting a second identical RGMS7 when I went to try it 🤪 this was actual ideal cause its the exact same everything and would be pretty consistent for the shows we were doing. But I did play the schecter though and I'd say the feel and playability overall was comparable to the RGMS7. I def like the looks of the schecter over the RGs I have. The schecter wasnt setup that well and had pretty dead strings imo when I tried it. I also didnt bring my modeler downtown with me so I dont have a good impression of how that compares. But the pickups were decent and the selections had some good tones going on. I havent watched this video in a minute but I think one difference was the schecter has coil-taps and the RGMS7 has a split coil option. Its pretty similar tone for both options but without having my shit Im not sure if I could say one is better than the other for me. Are you getting one?
@@rdm7770 Maybe not. I keep looking at 7- and 8- strings and I'm putting together a list of what I'd like it to have. So far, I think I'd prefer fanned frets/multi scale and stainless steel frets. Sky's the limit I would like that streaked ebony for the board, but that's just an appearance thing.
I've got the lefty version.. great guitar. I did change the tuners for locking type though. Nothing wrong with the originals but just prefer locking types for quicker string changes.

Glad it helped rob! I'm hoping to make a more succinct tone demo where I can fix some of these tones that don't sound so great to my ears anymore! Your version sounds like a monster!
Hey Jo! So, I haven't played it with a strap at all, I'll have to check that out. I haven't experienced any neck dive when sitting and playing, although I imagine it's less recognizable in that position.
Have you found this to be true on all passives? (Admittedly I did a poor job of dialing a tone here, it didn't do justice for the guitar OR the pickups for that matter)

to me seems unlogical such tilt around 1st fret . it breaks the brain and fingers to play cords . i guess.
