Which bands should I do next? As usual, Let me know in the comments below and it could be featured in the next video! EDIT: You guys have brought to my attention that there’s a very (very) minor error in the original riff here haha, oh well! I’ll do better transcribing next time, hope you still enjoyed anyway :) Also, thanks to Boss for sponsoring the video. If you like the guitar tones check out the amp I used here: bit.ly/2zSChxF
@@syahmiamir6566 You don't have to apologize for anything! The last one is certainly beautiful, but I love to madness from Humanure to Harvest Floor (even if all their albums are simply masterpieces)
I just bought a 7 string and have started learning some songs from Shogun. All Trivium is great, the new stuff is awesome, Ascendancy and Crusade are what got me into them, but Shogun is definitely the best album
Outstanding job with the video as usual, I loved the elevator music hahah How about Thank you scientist as one of the styles in the next video? Would love to see them here someday

@@chopshop777 hm, Jari Maenpaa from Wintersun too, he's a beast. Maybe Alexi Laiho, Dean Lamb from Archspire, Mattias Sippola from Atavistia (also, they're from Canada), Donny and Heinrich from Æther Realm... They're not very known but they're some of my favourite extreme metal guitar players
You’re not doing the number of chugs right in the riff at the beginning and even though it’s only a note or two different it’s messing with me. Great video anyways
Yep, imagine my surprise lol. If I’d have double checked earlier, I wouldn’t have made that error. Oh well, at least it’s a small error and I’ll check my transcription properly for the next one. Hope you enjoyed anyway and thanks for watching! :)
Yoo, can we just acknowledge the fact that in order to stuff like this you should understand the typical attributes of the bands in playing, which can be understood by listening a lot of their music. So Pete Cottrell could be listening to a lot of bands suggested by you and trying to understand them even if he doesn't like their style! Huge respect to you, Pete, great job haha! :)
Top notch as always 👍 Styles I would dig: Doors, Pink Floyd, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, ELP (Brain Salad Surgery era...might be tricky on guitar, I know...) Riffs I would dig: Light My Fire, In A Gadda Da Vida, Holiday in Cambodia, Hall of the Mountain King (the classical line, not Savatage’s track), Video Killed the Radio Star, Cornflake Girl, anything by Run-DMC
My favourite thing to do is to listen to these blind and figure out who they are. I absolutely should've got Bleed From Within, Skindred and Amaranthe, but I was very happy to get Contortionist and Tesseract almost instantly. Very nice work.
Hey man, love your videos. I just bought the Katana 100 MKii about a week ago, but still working on putting together some decent sounds. Would you mind uploading your Katana Patches for your effects settings? Thanks!
Blind Guardian, HammerFall, Gamma Ray, Stratovarius. Most bands featured are from the modern spectrum, while it's rare to hear some of the traditional stuff
Nailed it as usual! Contortionist made me laugh 👌🏼 I was wondering if you were going to go gainy on it as well A lot of your different versions were some tight riffs that I would listen to out of context
Would love a full song of the Korn, Skindred or even Contortionist version those were fuckin sick! 😩😍 Napalm Death, Fear Factory, Disturbed & SYL were also solid. 👌 Also, the elevator one sounded so much like Simpsons I was like what the hell is going on here. 😂😂😂😂
Seeing Holt with exodus in late 80s then him with Slayer last year made my life. He, Scott Ian, and Tommy Victor have to be the hardest working OLD Heads out there

Excellent work, Pete! May I suggest Mr. Sandman, by the Chordettes (Les Paul)?
Any riff from Tremonti
Architects
ADTR please!
IN WAAAAAAVVVESS!
Disturbed and Skindred were spot on
holy fuck mr handsome here
The SAINS AUF LAUD!!!!
Love you man.
I'm still waiting on 1 Riff 20 Bands - Misirlou!
Perfect
Hell yeah
Yes!!!!
That Shogun era version was just out of this world. I would've definitely voted for it in a TenSecondSongs poll.
In Waves between Scylla and Charybdis haha
I know that feeling, bruv.
Great guitar sound, Pete!
Fuck you Glenn. 🖕

Always love this series Pete. You should flip it sometime though, 1 band 20 different riffs in their style.
Amazing as always! Periphery next?
Icarus Lives in 20 styles maybe?
@@thommysguitarcorner4687 or maybe marigold!

The Bad Thing, on the other hand... 🖤

Whenever you do these I always like to guess the band before I look at the corner. Happy to say I got 6/20 right this time.
Awesome Collection of Bands and Sound. Nice One. Ty
Oooh my suggestion is in there... thanks a lot
Riff: Crystal Mountain - Death
Styles: which ever youd like that can be fast lol
OoOoOoh THIS!!
It's hard to pick a favorite Death song, but it's gotta be this one for me
Dialed it in perfectly!
Great job Pete. I enjoy these videos so much :)
Exodus, Amaranthe and Fear Factory were really cool this time
Excellent video. Some of the best riffs yet!
All of them were super cool, I enjoy these videos a lot!!! \m/
My suggestions for next time:
Voivod, Tool, Fates Warning
Probably the best right hand technique I've ever witnessed when it comes to extremely fast and heavy music, very cool. cheers. Ed Vancouver, Canada

Thanks for bringing Fear Factory, Pete! :D
Love that the Skindred riff was basically Warning 😂
So many good band for this 20 bands video! And an epic riff to work with. Amazing content as always!
Mr Cotterell, another awesome take on a song...I doff my cap to you sir, epic as usual 🤘🏼😈🤘🏼
Never thought of a format where you play various riffs in the style of a single band? That would be lit.
Wow its really interesting to hear one song in different band's eras
Skindred and Amaranthe are names I haven't heard in a really long time!
Well done, sir.
That was some great work.
Wow. The amaranthe one was legit. Loved them all

Funnily enough I’m the guy who’d been pestering you about doing Trivium but not using In Waves to parody another band for at least a month now lol

Awesome! Keep doing more Trivium songs!
The Elevator Music sounded like an interlude from 12 Foot Ninja
My favourite thing to do is to listen to these blind and figure out who they are.
I absolutely should've got Bleed From Within, Skindred and Amaranthe, but I was very happy to get Contortionist and Tesseract almost instantly. Very nice work.
Well done. With Trivium being one of my all time favorite bands this is great.
The Bleed from Within and Skindred ones shook me. The SYL very much so made me think of Detox.
Awesome video as usual! A few wishes: Nightwish, Amon Amarth, Halestorm, Rammstein, Royal Blood, the Black Keys :P
This is so awesome and accurate! Heafy should see this
Most of it was spot on!
That's a killer tone
I heard about The Contortionist but I never got the chance to actually listen to some of their stuff. That was amazing!

My Man! Killer performance! You should definitely go for some Corrosion Of Conformity!
Great as always!
Hearing some Clutch, NoMeansNo, S.C.I.E.N.C.E.-era Incubus, Floor, or Mudvayne would be cool!
Blast Tyrant era Clutch would be great
Lol, I saw you got all headbangy when doing the Fear Factory version.
The contortionist skindred and tesseract spot was nice

Amaranthe was so on point I heard it immediately. Truly a master at this challenge already.

Also, Reel Big Fish would be fun. And Flogging Molly.

Cool vid! No “Woo ahahaha” on the Disturbed one though. Opportunity missed.
Some real solid rhythm playing even on complicated rhythms
Was not expecting Billy Talent. That makes me happy
The Billy Talent one didn't really sound like them. Try them again on another vid!
you cant copy them :D
yes, im watched cz them and disappointed :(
Maybe if it was Pezz-era, then it might be more accurate- but it’s pretty far off from anything they’ve done under the BT name!
I second the Pezz -era comment... if you know you know
That was nothing like BT, so now he’s gotta do a redemption
Dope to see Bleed From Within on here 👌
When I saw preview I was thinking it's Guthrie Govan but it's just Trivium
P.S. Nice video!
Great job bro´. Of course we need a Rammstein song in the style of Novelists FR. Yeah!
I'd love to see some Descendents or Bad Brains inspired stuff. Gonna throw those two out there.
Descendents, one of my favorite punk band. It would be nice to see something inspired on them

I see Gary Holt, I click.

Oh, wow! That Trivium version sounds like something they would actually write!
also, have you done cannibal corpse yet?
Nailed it
NAILED THE MACHINE HEAD.
porcupine tree would be pretty epic pete
3:39 The Contortionist style are awesome
Billy Talent again please! Ian D'Sa is so underrated and I don't know that you did him justice here
Thanks for TesseracT!!!!
This made me realize how much an indie/ dream pop band needs to name themselves Elevator Music
Wow Machine Head style is great !
Great work. I'd love to hear The Haunted's Trespass as a riff. 💪
Have you done anything with the ocean? If not (or if you feel inclined to) something in the lines of pelagic or precambrian could be nice
I’m a child of the 80’s, so has anyone ever suggested Dokken’s Mr Scary??!! Please......
Mr Scary would be amazing.
