What next: "Running With The Wolves" official video, "Murder Song 5,4,3,2,1 - Live at 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert", "Half The World Away - Live at 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert", this song again "Runaway - Live at 2015 Nobel Peace Prize Concert" (Her live performances are always better). Aurora is 26 now. She was about 18 at the time of the video.
Fun facts about the Runaway Music Video:
It was shot late autumn 2014 and winter 2014/2015. She was 18 at this time. She wrote Runaway at the age of 11-12 and finalized it at the age of 14 (for a school project, as she mentioned in an interview).
The parts, where she wears the furry top are shot at the west coast of the Drange peninsula, less than a mile away from her parents house.
The parts in the forest were shot in the same forest where she played as a kid, less than half a mile away from her parents house.
The parts, in which she wears a thin white cardigan and with some trees in the near background and the island of Lysøya in the background, are shot actually in the backyard of her parents house in Drange.

Norway is beautiful and SO green, I saw it now when driving down to Sandefjord for Angelina´s concert. A little expensive though. Aurora is the most underrated vocalist around. She should be selling millions, and she is growing in the eyes of many, as people become exposed to her. She has at least two-dozen really good original works, and she is almost always better live. My favorite of hers is the Nidarosdomen performance of Lucky (or Murder Song, from that same venue), but there are lots of really good performances. She absolutely kills in small studios, like KEXP (It Happened Quiet, Churchyard, God is a Woman [cover], Teardrop [cover]). A truly unique Norwegian performer who is slowly rising to massive exposure on world stages. She is such a strong vocalist that her stripped Vivo version of Through the Eyes of a Child is the best a cappella song I have ever heard. The only non-live video worth seeing of her is The Seed, which ought to be required viewing by every citizen of the planet.

Aurora is, even according to her childhood friends who've known her a long time, a truly magical creature. She feels deep and her music flows through her as she moves to the music. Her hand movements are like she's conjuring magic as she sings. She is truly something special. BTW, Billie Eilish credits her as being one of her inspirations. I had never heard of her either until I heard Billie Eilish mention her. So I looked her up and was just blown away. Very good reaction. She is from Norway And her name is Aurora Aksnes and her artist name is just AURORA :). She is very natural and talented songwriter, singer, coproducer and even composer (she learned f.e. to play piano). When you her her song = she wrote it.
She has no formal education and just made music as a kid (even for first years it was a secret for a parents). She started making music >=6 and English lyrics from >=9.
She has a ton of great songs and performances:). Hope for more reactions from her. I guess you already have some recommendations. But on that list I would put "Lucky" live from Nidarosdomen (she started to write it when was 9), if you want to something also with electronic instruments (like in Runaway) then check "Running with the Wolves" official video (but you can also find live versions acoustic or with different instruments and it is always cool :) ), then something from KEXP 2018 like "All is soft inside" and ""Churchyard" and then something from Honda Stage, f.e. "I went to far". And then more as she still has so many great ones :P.

"Speaking with the American radio station 101WKQX in 2019, Billie Eilish spoke at length about the catalyst in her musical life and how a switch flicked on after watching a music video that lit a fire in her belly that’s still burning bright today.
“I grew up on so many artists, I feel like the moment was when I was sitting on my bed when I was like 12,” Eilish recalls. “I’d already started writing music, I just did it for no reason kinda, I just had a lot of things I needed to say, and I didn’t know how to say them, but I remember sitting on my bed when I was like 12 or 11. I was surfing UA-cam as you do, and there was this little video called ‘Runaway’ by Aurora, and I had no idea what that was, no idea what the song was, but the thumbnail looked cool, so I clicked on it.
“Then I remember just sitting there, and the intro played. I was like, ‘Oh, so that’s what I wanna do,’ and then immediately I was just in love with that, the whole idea,” she added from the heart."

Siiiir you have found one of the best artists you’ll ever hear. Live performances are a must because you can really feel her energy and artistry. The Nobel peace prize concert performance of Murder Song (5, 4 , 3, 2, 1) will blow your mind.

I thought the same thing, when I first heard her, that she was Irish because of the intonations of her singing.
It turns out there're a lot of similarities in the speech patterns between the gaelic and nordic countries.

I mean that makes sense cause Gaelic folks are from there originally

Nope, some of the outer islands were colonised, and some speak 'norse', and celebrate their traditions, and much of the english eastern lands were colonised, but the gaelic speaking areas were generally un-invaded.
I was born and raised in a village in Scotland's east coast, the non-gaelic speaking side, which has a norse based name, and IIRC, local history had it that it was founded by a longboat that had to take shelter there, and stayed.

I'm always hyped when i see people discover Aurora. She just came out with an album "The Gods We Can Touch" that is my favorite so far. Her live performance called "Heathens" is a very good representation of how her voice has matured with her. "It Happened Quiet" (Live at the Current) is also a ***VERY*** good showcase of her voice and how well she does harmonization with others. Also, bring tissues, you will need them.

While Aurora's music videos are brilliant, her live performances are the pinnacle, especially the Nobel Peace Prize concert from 2015, the masterpiece Nidarosdomen (Trondheim Cathedral) concert from 2017 and the magical HAIK concert from 2019 (filmed in the forest where Aurora played in her childhood).

Like you, this was my first reaction to Aurora. And...I initially thought her from Ireland, sort of Dolores Riordan-ish of The Cranberries fame. Your insights and comments were so spot on. I enjoyed watching your facial reactions, too. Due to your post she is now on my list of favorite artists. And FYI, you're a really handsome guy. Intelligent and thoughtful. Great qualities for one so young. Keep up the good work.

there is a little band i would like to recommend you give a try. SABATON, nearly all of their songs are about real life events in history. (may i recommend on of my favorite songs by them, To Hell and Back or Purple Heart. as a veteran and a bit of a historian they have a special place in my heart)

Aurora is awesome. She sounds similar to Maria Franz.
Maria has two current projects, Heilung (pronounced "Hī-lung", it means "healing", and Euzen (pronounced You-zeen). If you haven't heard either of them, check out Krigskaldr ("kreeg-scald-r"), Othan, or Anoana (newly released) from Heilung; alternately, check out Judged By, You're On, or Metamorph by Euzen.
Also, if you like this stuff, check out Wardruna.
