Every experience in life is juxtaposed against prior experiences. You cannot experience joy unless you have experienced sadness, and vice versa. All emotions are filtered through the endocrine system. That is just a fact. Experience alters brain chemistry. We as beings are not our bodies but, we experience and interact with the physical universe via our bodies. Someone who is empathetic is someone who has learned more from the opportunities/lessons they are presented with.

She was 19 when this performance was recorded. It's her original song, which she wrote at age 11 (!). The Runaway MV is just going viral on yt, 6 years after release. having currently 175 Million views on yt, and counting. She writes lyrics and music, plays the piano and dances, produces and arranges. She has a core of people around her which help but she always has the last word, even with the record company. She is a one of kind young women, intensly talented and with a uniq and highly addictive personality. She's best in live performances. Also her covers are legendary. I can also recommend to watch documentaries about her and interviews with her. Searching through yt, you easily will find all the clips, especially those recommended by lots of other commenters.

She writes and composes all of her own music - and she has since she was 8.
The arrangement of this specific song was co-written with Magnus Åaserud Skylstad - she basically described what she wanted the song to sound like, and he wrote down suggestions and played it until the song sounded the way she wanted to. She wrote it when she was 11, but the arrangement was done when she was 13.
Billie Eilish actually said in an interview that this was the song that inspired her to be a singer.
She also does covers, very well, like Massive Attack's Teardrop.

The shoe thing with Aurora is more because she is more comfortable without them. She is a dancers and a Child of nature. Dance is the only formal training she has had. She is a self taught singer, composer and musician. If you watch the MV for this song it is shot around her family house outside Bergen, on the West Coast of Norway.

Aurora and Angelina are changing the music world. Norway is producing the most incredible artists in the world. She is one who travels her own path, though she has a record label she does it her way. It’s obvious Norway’s producing independent women. Aurora writes, arranges and produces.
The lady who startet the musikk revolution in Norway 15 years ago was Susanne Sundfør considered as the queen of norwegian music , she plays guitar and piano , is a songwriter and producer. Worth a listen indeed!

The environmental warrior's message that she delivers in the music video for her song "The Seed" is a great place to dive deeper into this amazing Norwegian artist/producer. As others have said, she's from Norway and she's 24 now (25 next month), so she was around 18 at this time. I won't throw a recommendation out there because I love everything she's done, but I'm sure others will throw suggestions out there. Thanks for the AURORA reaction; I'm looking forward to more! What is crazy is how much better she's gotten in the last 7 years, she doesn't miss at all in live performances the last so many times i've heard her...you can hear a slight difference between this and studio here...but listen to her now and there's nothing between perfect studio sound and her live performance. She is renowned all over the world for her originality, style of writing and singing. I think she was 19 in this song. She just looks younger. Plus she only performs without shoes on occasion. This was just a concert where she did. I don’t think you know just what you have listened to ; one of the top artists in the world presently, how popular, admired, and well known for originality, and what her music says.Listen to It Happened Quiet.
She also sang with a group called Wardruna, the song is called Helvegen, you can feel how powerful that song is. You should check out their live version. It's a traditional Norwegian death song, I think the band plays on traditional Norwegian instruments as well. A truly powerful song made more so with Aurora's voice added to it, amazing.

She looks super young, so I get why you thought she was younger than she actually was. I'd highly recommend ...honestly MOST of her songs, but some of my absolute favourites are:
- The Seed (I think the official music video hits best as there's a lot of very intentional imagery and messaging within it)
- Queendom (Again, official music video with its visuals is stunning)
- Churchyard (love her live performance of this live on KEXP)
- Murder Song (5, 4, 3, 2, 1) - she performs a few versions of this and my favourite is her Nobel Peace Prize performance, but the music video is great, too.
- Warrior
- The River
- Running with the Wolves
She also did a session Live at The Current which is 1000% worth checking out for that sort of live session, but sans audience feel.
In addition to all of those original songs, she's done lots of incredible covers. She's a true artist and does all the arrangements herself and I just love what she did with the following covers:

The songs are all probably co-written an co-produced by others..... But it is 90%+ Aurora..... She was "pressured" to do songs earlier, but she firmly said: if I ever again have to give out music I don't want to, I will quit. She told her sisters: If I can't be me, what's the point?"
This made me cry....almost instantly after she started singing...weird. beautiful voice.

It's a Scandi accent, Aurora's from Norway like Angelina Jordan. She's 25 y.o. now ( I think) but she wrote the song, her second I believe, when she was a child. When she was little she often got lost in the forests where she lived. She was trying to find her way back home to her parents. Interestingly, she would find her way back home by following the stars,perhaps the Northern Lights.

When I first heard Aurora I too thought Irish, but then found out she was Norwegian. I realized too that Norway is just across the water from Ireland, so I could see how the historical folk sounds could be related. Please bring more Aurora. Her performances from "Live at Nidarosdomen" are some of the best. The acoustics of the venue combined with the orchestra and her voice are magical.

Remember the moment you first heard her. This woman is a world treasure. She is absolutely unique and beautiful. If you ever listen to her song "Through the eyes of a child" make sure you listen to her live at Nidarosdomen. Truly a beautiful song of the first order. There are a couple of versions. you will want to play this one first.

Now that you are in the world of Norwegian musicians, I suggest you see Aurora sing with Wardruna, the piece is called Helvegen and it is wonderful. You will get a good introduction to Einar Selvik of Wardruna, who is doing much to bring traditional sounds back to Norse music and his voice is unique and striking.

She looks very young here in Oct 2015 but she was actually 19, she will be 25 here in June 2021.
She is a Norwegian musical "prodigy", she taught herself to play piano starting at age 6, and as far as I heard she still cannot read notes even today, but she does not need it.
She started writing lyrics to the songs at age 9 like her song "Lucky". This song "Runaway" she wrote at age 11-12. She did not reveal her music and talent even to her family until age 14 or so, I think it was at her confirmation her sisters said in an interview.

Btw she never wanted to perform only to write music, but her mother convinced her to share her voice and music with the world. But during the first 2 years 2014-15 she was terrified when performing, specially at this NPPC 2015 because of the huge concert hall full of people. Later she learned to enjoy it and dances and jokes with the audience.

I live in Norway and actually kinda met her 2 years ago. She was with her girlfriend (i assume) cause they were holding hands walking a crosswalk. I said hi and she smiled and said hi back. But thats basically it. I never got a picture.. I didn't want to impose on them. Amd they were basically in the middke of the road.
There is actually a reason why Angelina is not wearing shoes. And she wrote a book about it... (when she was 9).. She was on a trip in iran or something and she met a girl who was weighing people for money and they started talking and became friends after talking for a little while. Angelina saw that the girl was bearfoot and had scars ln her feet. Angelina then gave the girl her boots. And after that every time she preform she thinks of the girl and wowed to never wear shoes again untill every children had shoes on their feet..
