I am so happy you were able to share Aurora with them. She is a beautiful soul and so are all the people in this video (and behind the scenes!). I know there are a few different "villagers react" or "tribal people react" channels on UA-cam, but imo yours is by far the best. You put so much thought into your content. A lot of the other channels seem like they are only doing if for clicks (so Westerners can feel superior or something, I dunno), but I can tell that you really care about these people, and want to expand their worldview...and everyone else's. I love seeing that these people on the other side of the planet are also my brothers and sisters, regardless of skin color, culture, or religion. The story of millions of women in the world, but you'll never hear feminists taking about it unfortunately. And this is where their attention should be.
My mother is the same as this woman. Stoically accepting that a lot of her life withered away with little joy, always taking care of others since she was a child, including back-breaking manual labour, never time for herself or school.
The world of today is built on thousands of generations of people like these.

    • @CharlesShopsin
      @CharlesShopsin Рік тому +186

@@empyrionin I'm not sure why you think feminists don't talk about it. Feminism is at its heart the idea that women are fully fledged human beings and deserve to be treated with the same rights, respect and dignity as anyone else. Feminism is the reason that women in our country can get a divorce, own property, say no to their sexual advances.
It breaks my heart to hear Parvati talk about how she is treated. Pakistan has a long way to go towards respecting women's fundamental rights and dignity. (Admittedly, America is not doing a bang up job of it right now either). There are many amazingly courageous and strong women who are fighting for their rights there (and some men too). They need more feminists, not less.

Abdul is just so perceptive and insightful! At 8:35 he perfectly captures one of Aurora's deep recurring messages in her songs - the importance of freely expressing oneself despite the constant pressures of society. Unfortunately there is nearly no hope for her under the actual circumstances. And because so many countries (including Pakistan) are moving backwards instead of forward, I don't have also high hopes for her daughters (if she has daughters).

Like tigers in small cages, no companionship, not nurtured, bored and often beaten and refused food if the inlaws or husband wish it. Also, made to perform as the slaves of culture and tradition. Women are often viewed as unclean , yet they are made to have their children. Does this sound familiar? Slavery, human trafficking viewed as normal by tradition. So damn sad

Others have already suggested, and I also highly recommend, the Nidarosdomen performance of Through the Eyes of a Child. It is another song she wrote at a young age, and is also completely universal in its message, which they will instantly discern.
In an interview before her performance at this cathedral, she spoke of wanting to respect the place where she was performing. And she certainly did! Would the villagers benefit from knowing each verse's lyrics before they are sung, instead of after? That said, it was quite something how much they instinctively got from Aurora's performance here even before having the meaning of the words.

Hello everyone.. Thank you very much for this reaction, you beautiful people... Aurora is one of my favorite artists... She calms me, fills me with hope and other emotions, I almost always have shivers as I listen to her, she touches my soul.. and your comments give me insights ... I very much agree with your comments :)
Muharam Khan: "Then we should listen to more of her music", "Listening to her music I felt relieved", "She must be a good human being", "she has every quality"
Abdul Aziz Rind: "I liked this one more because she wrote it herself", "It's about freedom", "12 year-olds these days aren't awakened like her"
Parvati, talking about being barefoot and temples .. "her voice felt very innocent"
Etc..... I guess Aurora would be very happy to see them as she is a very beautiful person too, she has so many virtues, and cares about people, nature, life...
The next song from Aurora should be The Seed... I believe they will understand her very well.
Regards to all of you, see you again soon..

i would love to hear them share their thoughts on "The Seed" by Aurora. The song has a different feeling and is full of passion. It is about our destruction of this earth for our greed. I went to her concert recently and she told us that over the years every time she sings the song she gets angrier and angrier. It's truly a song that moves you.
Also, I'm a new viewer and really enjoying your videos! Thank you for sharing! It's wonderful seeing other persepectives and connecting with new music! Music is one of the best things life has to give us!

I just wanna hug Parvati and take her on a week vacation somewhere she's always wanted to go! I remember this feeling when you are young and you give up yourself for the people you love but there's this quiet piece of you that gets ignored and it keeps shrinking and you feel trapped. Not that you would ever trade it.
I enjoyed listening to everyone's feelings about the song. I love that we all feel something different from it and yet so similar. It's called bittersweet in English, Saudade in Portuguese, Hiraeth in Welsh, Тоска in russian.. i can't think of any more. But something so beautiful it can almost make you cry but it also squeezes your heart in both a painful and strangely pleasant way.
It's like they all arrived at the same feeling but different ways of the feeling. Just beautiful. ❤️

Parvati, if you feel constricted in your daily life, it's good to talk about it. When you feel that restriction, try to go to a place in your mind where you are FREE. We don't always have the choices we deserve in our circumstances. But, nobody is constrained within their dreams, mind, and imagination. Thank you for sharing your thoughts and feelings. Abdul, your intuition for the meaning of lyrics in languages you don't understand is unsurpassed. You listen to the language of the voice, and the music. This was a great reaction from everyone!
