The biggest issue I see with buying bikes is the test ride. Sellers are hesitant to let you ride the bike and as a buyer I won't buy without riding the bike. I find the best way to make the seller more comfortable is to show up on my current bike so they know at least I can ride.
If you don't ride in on a bike, you're not test riding mine. Sure, anything can happen, with any one, it did for me. Some individual took my '90 up the road, dumped it turning around, left it laying in the road and walked back. Uh
Well I always told myself I’d never buy a Goldwing until I’m over 60. So last month I turned 66, retired then hit a turkey with my ST1300. Japan being hard hit by the pandemic was 3 months out in supplying me with all the $4,000 plastic parts the dealer and the insurance company said I needed to make my beloved ST whole again. Frustrated and with some 401K cash I didn’t really need in my pocket I traded my wounded ST in for a new 2021 non tour lowly 6 speed grey and black, dare I say it , Goldwing. I’m officially old. 3000 miles later I feel young again. Especially in sport mode. This is not grandpa’s Goldwing. Even better I found you. This super high tech chunk of plastic, wires and even some steel suddenly doesn’t seem so intimidating. Thanks so much. I’ll be purchasing your videos soon. :)!
Goldwings are not without fault though, maintenance/labor costs are high on these bikes, stay away from bikes that sit a lot. yeah a low mile barn find is great, but should carbs ever need to come off, its labor intensive. some Goldwings have had cracked frame recalls, their fix? pull exhaust off and they lay the bike on the side and have a certified welder weld the frames. stay away from those. im a motorcycle/powersports tech with 30+ years experience
I buy a lot of goldwings all used some wrecked. The best deals are salvage bikes if you know what to look for. If you don't then the I would offer the following. Look over the bike, if it's clean and relatively scratch free you know it's probably been garaged and maintained. Start the bike and let it warm up at idle listen for any chatter which may indicate a problem with the alternator drive. Take it for a ride and verify it stays in high gear. Other than that there is not too much to check. If the owner installed a bunch of useless items like belly pans or fork brace those sell good on eBay even though they serve no actual purpose. In general if it looks good and sounds good it's going to be fine. I can say this for any wing with 100k or less but would not say this for many other brands
Hi, Great videos....one note on tires that I always tell people to pay attention to is when they were made. They might look brand new and only have 100 miles on them, but if they are 7 years old....they should be changed. All tires are stamped with the week and year that they were made. Rubber is one area you should never go cheap, and is often overlooked. You don't want to have an accident due to saving a few hundred dollars. Patrick, Bloomington IL...
Yes and no. If they were mounted, and in the elements - they will not be up to par. If, however, they have been warehoused, stored in cool place without direct sun - they will last
Bought and sold about 20 motos. Had a bad experience with a 02' GW in Illinois. Exterior and plastic was pristine, had some nice accessories, price was right. Ran fine around the block, all the gears, and brakes were great. On the way home, got it up on the hwy and opened it up- coughing and stuttering. Got it home and started getting into it. Tank was full of rust! Fuel filter was clogged, solid. Private seller would not talk on the phone, and wouldn't answer his door. He knew he was scamming. Also a bad dude, because he had 3 other motos in his garage (BMW's). I sent an email to his BMW riding club, calling him a scammer, and fixed the tank with electrolysis. Took a week.
I am looking to move on a 1999 GL1500sr with 75,000 miles for $3250. Pictures look great. Owner claims to be second owner, and both have kept up all maintanance and kept garaged. Looks clean as a whistle. I will be using this video knowledge for my inspection. Thanks. It's two-tone cherry red and seemingly a loaded Touring package. Mileage aside, I see KBB says between $6-8K. Dealer bikes of similar mileage and age come in around $5K. Wish me luck, because I've wanted a Goldwing since the late 80's. My riding lineage.... mini-bike, Honda 125, Yamaha 400 Special II, Honda 700, Honda 750 four, 1988 HD Sporster 1200, Kawasaki Vulcan 1500, 1991 HD Sporster 1200 stroked and hopefully next , the Goldwing.
I’ve bought two salvage bikes. Zero issues other than cosmetic and those things I fixed. It’s not for everyone and if I had deep pockets I wouldn’t have.
Yes I see your point. If you can’t (the purchaser) have a friend who knows something about G.L.’s to look things over so you both “buyers” with cash can talk about it it sort of makes the deal better in final negotiations of a better price. 2against 1 works best especially if the buyer drives a old wreck car to a private party house or garage. Dress down and drive moms car if you have too.
Plus your going to need to ride it back once you get there. Or you can resort to delivary via tow truck, transpo, or Uber? No doubt unless you know this type of bike I would test ride it first before making a deal. It’s big and heavy but on the highway they are a dream.
This is a man that only speaks the facts in a good, friendly manner... If I was in the market for a goldwing I'd be checking out his video maintenance videos... You'll surely save more than the videos would cost to buy...
Excellent information. Harley owner here and looking for a GW. Great help and will check out your other videos. I might add when contacting the owner of the bike one is interested in tell him to not start and warm up the bike. This way you can see a cold start.
I go with private owners with a clear title in hand and i make them go to the DMV with me to get it transfered so there won't be any issues, here in S.W. Florida i have been to dealerships that will not negotiate at all, the price is the price period, they will let you walk over $5.00 and im not kidding, if it's a older bike i also check for parts availability before i even go look at the bike, thanks for the great video 🏍🏆👍
LUV cruiseman's point on private seller- an advantage to know the owner, maybe his behavior on maintence/riding habits? well.......when u go2 the sellers house and you see teh lawn has weeds and never cut.....well then....run!
I bought a used Honda Goldwing motorcycle 🏍️ and I was very happy with the advice given by Cruiseman. I have learned a lot more about Honda Goldwing just by watching his videos.
Hey Cruiseman! Enjoyed your expertise! I've got a 2001 GL1800 with 115,000 runs great! Kelly Blue Book value is $6500. I would let it go for 4000! Also have an 89 GL1500 Leahman Trike! My favorite toy!
Today is 11/25/24. I am about to get myself into a 2018 DCT trike with Roadsmith kit. I used to sell cars for a living so all of these tips are great for making sure that your deal is successful. When you are speaking with a serious person it makes things a bit easier to manage. I put $1000 deposit to hold it and fly to Texas to actually see the trike. One of the key factors in deciding for this one was the accessories included, over $5k dollars and the extended warranty. I will post a follow on comment after I see the trike in person and close the deal. Wish me luck. Thanks
My buddy purchased one touring bike from a private seller, the bike seemed like it was well.taken care of (bike seemed in great condition ,lots of upgrades, garage kept, covered ,knowledgeable seller ect ect ect...) after purchase first thing we did was basicly break down the bike to just check everything, thats when i realized the seller had no clue what he was doing and had a rats nest of wires everyplace... i took out about 5 -7 lbs of just unnecessary wiring had to re wire almost everything including gps wiring,..in the end its always a crap shot.
The sun can cause damage to plastics. BUT garages can get very hot inside if not ventilated. Not to mention if the bike isn't a daily rider that takes the user to work and left outside on 5 to 12 hour shifts in the weather thru out the weeks.. love your videos and glad you made your channel
Thank you. I am getting ready to fly out of Tulsa ok to Tampa Fl to by a Goldwing and will be driving it back 1400 miles.. I will be buying vids. Thanks again
Hey man I just wanna say I appreciate your help on this topic you're very clear on instructions right to the point and your knowledge helped me purched my very first GOLDWING GL1800 2004
I found an ‘04 GW last fall, paid $2,500 with 52,000 kms on it. A new battery and oil and that’s all it needed. Replaced the rear tire last week and it’s given great service for 9,000 kms so far. What a bike, and the good buys are out there.
Just looking to purchase a Goldwing. I have been riding a Honda PC800 for 23 years and finally thought of a change. Moved from UK to the E.U and want somthing for the country to country touring...life style really This video is fantastic.. god bless you and keep you safe.❤ PS posted a question on a European forum...everybody was saying.."watch this Mans videos"...
Just boughtl an 84 Interstate 45000 miles $2400.00 delivered to my door from 2.5 hrs away with a trailer. Guy was very nice. Bike came with new tires, new battery and new windshield. I'm a happy camper. Bought it sight unseen. Thinking I'll be replacing the timing belts soon. Gauges are not faded, paint is shiny wine red. All lights are clear and in good working order. Front shocks felt a little stiff on track level 3 so I set them to 1 and rides like a dream. There are a few scratches bit hey, it's a survivor. Chrome looks good. The rubber on the left front peg slipped off somewhere when I was riding it so ai have one coming from ebay along with a used seat because this one had a small tear. It starts as quick as the bike in the video. All fluids were changed. I bought it for something to ride while I'm changing rhe clutch out on my 2000 BMW K1200 LT. The bike does not have a radio but I use my helmet Bluetooth to play Spotify from my phone. I'll need to put a charge receptacle somewhere. He said.he was selling to cover a vet operation bill for his dog. I passed up Yamaha VMax $4000 and a Honda V65 Magna $3000 for this bike. Just seemed like the best bang for the buck. Also had a front seat back rest. I've been polishing up the aluminum with some blue magic bit my favorite would be jeweler's roush...don't know how you spell. All my repair videos are free on UA-cam. I just Google them and they are free to watch. No need to give money yo some guy trying to make a profit off people that need help.
My algorithm is spot on. I've been thinking about finally buying my first Goldwing. And told a friend I'm in the market for a used 2018 or newer gold wing. Next time on UA-cam the first recommended video was this one. A comprehensive in depth video it was. I think I found my own personal Goldwing guru.
Great content! I watched the whole thing and I don't even have a GW!😂 (I do have 2 GS adventures and most of your content is great advice for any motorcycle)
From my observations, GW riders are less likely to abuse their bikes, like many V-twin or sportbike riders. I've heard Jerry Paladino say that GW's with the DCT are more difficult to control during slow speed maneuvers, so I'm going to make sure I buy one with a standard clutch transmission, even if it means having to buy one from 2017 or earlier. Great video, Cruiseman!
Buttons, buttons, buttons! Even the dealer says the buttons sticking, not working is the main common problem. I picked up a 2005 with 9500 miles. The hazard flasher button stuck on and I couldn't get it to turn off. Load leveler button stuck. I think the issue is once you set up your radio station, load level etc you don't use the buttons again.
My first motorcycle was an used motorcycle, I fixed an electrical problem, oil leak from valves cover, starter, fuel pump, brakes, all oils, clutch, starter clutch, carburetor, ... It was not a bad motorcycle, compression 150 on each cylinder but I think the last mechanic was a little sloppy. For exemple, I had helical spring and old seal for the valves covers, this oil leaking make smoke on my exhaust. My carburetors was not at its right place so it was impossible to have a good idle. I had to order parts for my brake system and my starter clutch, it was not present. I am not a mechanic but I can fix an engine. The biggest problem with used motorcycle, I need to add money so I can think about the cost of the same used motorcycle. This is a good deal if I compare it with the monthly payment of a new motorcycle.
Cruiseman, I recently purchased a used 2018 Goldwing Tour. Your channel has helped me learn the controls of the bike better than the guy I bought it from. No joke. I’ve always wanted a Goldwing and before I purchased mine I stumbled upon your UA-cam channel and watched several videos to help me prepare for the purchase. One of my favorites is the 20 essential things every Goldwing Owner should know. That video is very beneficial. Thank you. I also learned how to sync my phone to my GW by watching your step by step video. That was wonderfully executed step by step instructions. If I am ever in the Denton area, “I actually work for the company that built the giant power station in Denton and travel there often” it would be awesome to meet you in person and have a coffee at your favorite shop. My treat. Thanks again for the great GW tips. Ride hard and trust your tires. 😁 Thank you sir.
@@cruisemansgarage I've been riding since 1971 and have owned about 50 bikes of all makes/models like you. I bought a 30th anniversary edition new when I went into the shop to get some oil for another bike I had. Life got in the way over the years and it now has a whopping 9,680 miles on it. I changed the oil every riding season and just put a fresh battery and Dunlop 4s on it. Fresh fork oil/seals 2 years ago and all the other fluids as well. It will go on the market soon and someone will be getting an almost new, blue color Gen 5 Wing that looks showroom! I am about to buy a very lightly used 2018 from an 80 year old gent who has to stop riding due to health issues. I just watched your 20 tips video. These things sure are complicated now. After seeing this video about the warranty I will get the extended warranty from Honda if possible. If it's out of time as it's Oct 2021 when I get it I may pass on it and look for a 19/20 model since they are newer releases and I can get the extension. Thanks for the good videos.
Great Video! Very helpful content. Straight forward. I've watched a couple other of your videos on You Tube and they were great too. You are a resourceful, honest, and good man
Recently replaced my windshield with a new Clearview windshield. Your video about changing a windshield really helped me. You know just how difficult changing a windshield is on a 2016 wing. Thanks a lot.
@@cruisemansgarage I'm thinking of grabbing a 2002 with 107k miles. $5500. Is that a lot of miles for a Wing? He says it still runs great, gonna go test ride it tomorrow. Great videos sir!
@@dougi1967 I was thinking of that too. Either the Goldwing, BMW R1200GS / RT /RS or the FJR, in that order. I'm currently riding the Honda VTX1300S(R) but I want a touring bike that's EFi.
Good afternoon from Southeastern NC, the wife and I are seriously considering purchasing a used Goldwing Trike, have been researching this particular bike very intensely for a couple of weeks, came across your channel in my research, I found your insight very valuable and am about to use your advice on a potential purchase on a 2001 Goldwing Trike from a Dealership in Russellville Arkansas, BTW have subscribed as well, appreciate the expertise, GOD BLESS
Dear Cruiseman.....I bought 2018 dct aut of official dealer in Slovenija They made servis change tyres breaking pads and most important gave me 1 year garantio Honda. I think I made an good deal Welcom to Slovenija Rajhenburg Brestanica SE Hotel Pohle Canarymotorcycletour Summerinslovenia
Good video, much appreciated. Two advantages were missed so far as buying from a dealer ... if you have a bike to trade in the dealer can spare you from the hassle of having strangers coming to your house to look at your 'old' bike, and secondly, in states that charge sales tax on private sales (which I think is most or all) the dealer will only charge you tax on the difference between the value of your 'trade in' bike and the selling price of the new bike. This could be a BIG savings and helps mitigate the higher price the dealer may be charging, especially if your 'old bike' is of high value.
Dealers need to make money on the old bike too, they spare the hassle of selling the old motorcycle privately but in most scenarios you'll be far ahead selling your bike privately. The trade in price will fit sure cover repairs they need to make and prep, profit and transaction costs plus adjustments for how desirable or undesirable the model is. A larger dealer will need to make a minimum of $2,500 on a trade to cover all that. The only way they will eat that difference or more is it you pay more on the newer bike (ether in cost or hidden fees), buy lots of accessories or end up in a loan that is unfavorable.
Dealers are garbage. I bought a 2019 Kawasaki W800 from a dealer here in Tucson. The list price was $5,700. After all of their add ons that I couldn’t remove from the invoice the total ended up being $10,600. I worked a ton of OT and paid it off in 2 months, then received a refund for GAP insurance for $687. I will never buy from a dealer again.
I want to buy a used goldwing because i prefer it to the new one. The new 2018 update made the bike less touring capable so ill save myself $20,000 and get myself a 5th gen goldwing.
I disagree about the maintenance being more likely to have been done on a Wing. People sell old Wings, and I mean OLD, and they've never replaced the timing belts just because the mileage is low. We're talking $30 in parts for the belts, and they may be 35 years old. 35-year old rubber is old rubber, just like an old tire. People tend to think a Wing never needs maintenance, and they've already spent a ton of money and don't want to keep them up.
you covered pretty much everything to check for while inspecting a Goldwing you might be interested in buying, l would also had a test drive to make sure no surprises
I have not be able to get a full set Dunlap Elite 4 on my 2018 Goldwing. But on my 2012 goldwing I get about 17,000 to 19,000 mile with good grip. I just put a set of Elite 4 on my 2018 goldwing tour. I use centramatic wheel balancer to keep my tires balanced. It is continuously balancing the tire to maintain balance. I use Western Service Contract Corp. Tire Protection plan for my tires. The contract is 3 years long and will replace up to 3 tire when you get a leak or nail in it. I have replace 3 tires due to nails in them in a 2 year period of time and they replace all 3 tires at no cost. Then sense I used up the contract. I purchase a new 3 year contract to cover my motorcycle tires.
I really enjoy your video's. You're very thorough, giving people the knowledge and confidence to take on any fundamental projects. Thank you for taking the time to make these video's.
I bought another GL1800 goldwing back in February from a Honda dealer, I seldom buy from a dealer because of the reasons mentioned here however this was a really nice GW priced right about retail. It is very clean with new tires and a few extras like CB radio, rear wing and some Crappyakin chrome parts. First thing i did was change all the fluids and I do mean all! (except the fork oil). I would like to think the previous owner changed the air cleaner but I don't know so I will be changing it very soon too.I change d all the bulbs to led's except the low beam which are 55 watt HID's, no LED can compete with them. (Yet) Plus I have done many-many other thing since then. Goldwings are great
i did enjoy this presentation, i my self do not ride a Goldwing but a CRF1000l, and like the man side watching maintenance, i have do most of the work on my Honda motorbike, like when i saw coolant water next to my bike, there was a channel that i looked at on how to replace the water pump, and saved time and money by doing it my self,. yours kevin
Used meaning, sold privately correct. If I buy used from a dealer they will always tack and additional 2-3k onto their purchasing price....the mark up.
Test ride or walk, been sitting not running ,walk or pay parts bike value. 1200s notorious for stator issues. Miles of wiring includes plenty of connections that can corrode, leave you pushing it. Most shops won't touch anything over ten years old and they can be a pain to work on. 40 Clymer manual has kept my 85 limited running first 4 years but now I'm probably going to poor boy alternator mod. Previous owner installed led headlight and caused Overload to regulator/rectifier and who knows what else.
When I bought my videos... the promo code didn't seem to work... but well worth they were... also recommend the book from Wingstuff... somebody stopped me and told me recently to go to a shop and have the bulb changed... he was driving a 04 and it happens alot... so he said... I informed the surprised rider that I do it myself... I referred him to Cruiseman... and the book... with a 1300 USD tag for the 36000 mile inspection who would not consider to take tools to that thing... lol
I ride an older HD and have no plans to trade it in for a new/used motorcycle (of any brand) anytime soon but your video was so informative and well put together that I watched the whole thing. Awesome video!
@@cruisemansgarage I ride a 2000 Road King FLHR with the 88ci motor. This was probably the last year b4 they were all fuel injected. I bought it in 2015 and found a good local mechanic...The newer bikes (many brands) look great and probably are better in every way, but my budget won't allow it. :-)
Yes, have a 93/1500 for years and still enjoy the wind therapy. Me and the wife do a long trip once a year. 🤫Stay away from the transition years. Buy a good one and keep up with the maintenance and enjoy yourself. 🤠😎
I think the cosmetics of the bike are a good indicator of the overall mechanical condition. I doubt that a wing with faded or scratched paint is as mechanically sound as a pristine motorcycle.
Thought your video was very very informative…. And should l buy another Goldwing in the near future l will watch again… and purchase your online videos….. thanks a million….. Payo….. Australia
Many good points on what to look for when buying. One thing you didn't address was a test ride - either asking as a buyer or allowing as a seller. Personally, I will not allow a stranger whose skill (and intent!) is unknown to ride mine. Its condition will speak for itself. If they want, they can follow me while I ride it, but no one else gets to ride it until I have the cash and they have the title.
that's not a realistic outlook. people need to have a chance to see how each particular bike feels and behaves. there are ways to mitigate the risk involved.
When it comes to large, heavy, and expensive motorcycles, it's plenty realistic. Dealers that allow test rides (and not all do) have the inventory and financial backing to suffer a loss - I do not and I will not take a chance on a tire kicker who may have no experience on anything bigger than a 125cc dirt bike, let alone a near 1,000 lb Harley touring bike or a Goldwing. Whatever I sell is in pristine condition - either buy it, or move on. Not trying to be difficult, just protecting MY interests. YMMV.
I test rode a GW and it was at a dealer. It cornered so well I dragged the footpegs on both sides. Pulled over and it looked like the undersides had been filed down. Went back and told them I didn't like the color and booked it outta there.
This is such a great video. Thank you for all the info. Cruiseman, do you have any reservations to buying an older used Goldwing? Often I’ll see 2001 - 2010 with low miles, selling for prices that are affordable to me. Is there anything to be worried about in purchasing a Goldwing that old?
He thanks the viewer at the end for watching, and staying through such a long video. Thats when I looked down, and noticed it was a 25 min video! Seemed like a lot less than that!
y would i buy a price honda extended warranty when the power train is bullet proof, the forks /or arm is a wearable with alot of the other parts, what else can possibly go wrong that the warranty wld cover down the line? thanks, great vid! wish he did this for other generations like 13-16s F6Bs.....to talk abot issues there....
In Ontario you can't even buy one. They have been completely sold out for the past two years. No Honda dealer has any and wont until at least next summer. So they tell me. Not much on the used market either, unless you want to buy something from 1985
Why does these bikes have that rattle. Sounds like lifters. Also are these bikes both shaft drive or chain. What's your thought of DCT, Dual clutch Transmission.
Excuse me interrupting you at the fifteen minute mark but you mentioned highway pegs! How do you fit them with all that engine?? I would have thought them impossible and me being 6foot 5 inches they are a necessity . Thanks for all work too sir.
Oddly Nada Giudes and Kelly Blue Book do not take mileage on a motorcycle into account when calculating a bikes used value. After market items has no consideration on a motorcycles value even if the seller wants to think it does.
I have an adventure bike and my butt is sore after about an hour of riding. My wife is disliking it no more too. I want to find a bike that’s comfortable for hours. Is the standard riding position as comfortable as a cruiser stance?
Could u help me find a used one I've owned two an I've grew up on them an around them so p!ease help sir I just sold my slingshot to get another one cause I have MS an need a decent trike thanks for ur time sir!
My wife and I are seriously looking into a 2000 Goldwing and I happen to stumble across a video describing how to change an air cleaner. I’ve never seen such thing in my life. An air cleaner is something that should be easily user replaceable without breaking anything? I remember the old 80s gold wings that were much more accessible as far as the air cleaner goes. Which year should I go with that might have easily replaceable air cleaner as well as other things?
I don't know if you've covered this issue in any of your videos but I would appreciate any help. My issue with Honda Goldwing is (besides wanting one SO BADLY that my teeth hurt) that I'm 6' 1". That's not the problem though, I have a prothesis (hip) and it makes it difficult to lift my foot to step on the brake when one's knees are bent at the angle Honda has a tall person enduring. I know there are kits to move the foot controls forward, however the engine on Honda is so wide that I don't know if that's possible, or if it's been made. I guess I'm rambling (unlike yourself) and I just need to know if you're aware of such a kit, or any suggestions, I would appreciate it.
Selling my 2003 Gold Wing at the moment and the market is REALLY flat right now. May 2024. No offers or interest whatsoever. Huge number of bikes available and I'm not willing to give it away. As for a drive, just climb on the back and take that ride with the owner. Realistically, don't expect the seller to allow you to ride the bike because of the risk of damage.
The biggest issue I see with buying bikes is the test ride. Sellers are hesitant to let you ride the bike and as a buyer I won't buy without riding the bike. I find the best way to make the seller more comfortable is to show up on my current bike so they know at least I can ride.
I always get their License and Wallet..check the photo id and hold it all until they return.
I bring cash in hand for them to hold while I test drive
@@MelodyMan69lol what if they get pulled over and you have their ID

If their driving in a manner to be pulled over, its on them.
im 36 and ride a goldwing. theyre just awesome
I’m 39 and looking to buy one now…I’ve wanted once since I was a youngster in the 1990s. I absolutely love these machines!
Would be curious to hear what’s different between St1300 and a Goldwing. I’m thinking of trading up in the near future.
First of all the ST is 1300cc and is V4. The Goldwing is 1800cc and is a boxer 6 cylinder!!!! Big difference in torque and engine power!!
Buying my first goldwing this Friday. 2005 Anni for 4200. Super excited and it looks new!
Ride safe!

Hey! How is it going with the wing!?
I’ve bought two salvage bikes. Zero issues other than cosmetic and those things I fixed. It’s not for everyone and if I had deep pockets I wouldn’t have.
Never thought I would Appreciate motorcycle tips from Trey Gowdy ..Thank you sir ,I’m a fan
I ride a 1989 GL1500, bought the motorcycle in 99. Just finished overhauling brakes and clutch hydraulic system. Next, new rear tire.

Thanks
@@ivanr_.8678 What dealer?
Not to mention if the bike isn't a daily rider that takes the user to work and left outside on 5 to 12 hour shifts in the weather thru out the weeks.. love your videos and glad you made your channel
great point!

Thank you. I am getting ready to fly out of Tulsa ok to Tampa Fl to by a Goldwing and will be driving it back 1400 miles.. I will be buying vids.
Thanks again
Good luck with the purchase and ride safe!
I still have my 2012 GOLDWING love that bike it has 43547 miles runs like a champ
Good luck on your purchase. Let me know what you end up with. Ride safe.
I thought this video was top notch and could be a starting point for all bike purchases (not just a GW). In my view this is a 10 out of 10 video.
Thank you!
❤
Congrats on the new Wing!
You are a resourceful, honest, and good man
I bought an 04 in 05 I still ride it in 22. Didnt buy it to sell, bought it to ride.
Recently replaced my windshield with a new Clearview windshield. Your video about changing a windshield really helped me. You know just how difficult changing a windshield is on a 2016 wing. Thanks a lot.
I have heard good things about Clearview.
@@cruisemansgarage I'm thinking of grabbing a 2002 with 107k miles. $5500. Is that a lot of miles for a Wing? He says it still runs great, gonna go test ride it tomorrow. Great videos sir!

Thank you so much for your invaluable information, highly appreciate it, keep it up the outstanding job, have a great day.
Excellent vid, am in the market for my first wing and these tips apply to UK as much as USA, thanks for updating the original vid.
People tend to think a Wing never needs maintenance, and they've already spent a ton of money and don't want to keep them up.
you covered pretty much everything to check for while inspecting a Goldwing you might be interested in buying, l would also had a test drive to make sure no surprises
excellent conversation
plastic and rubber oxidation and polimerize sometimes internally it looks fine until you put pressure on it!

I am going to go look at a 2019 Goldwing only has 2,500 miles it is a trike this bike is pristine any comments

Are the 1995+ gold wings any good?
Yes, have a 93/1500 for years and still enjoy the wind therapy. Me and the wife do a long trip once a year. 🤫Stay away from the transition years. Buy a good one and keep up with the maintenance and enjoy yourself. 🤠😎
Great video. Clear, concise and informative
Awesome video for used motorcycle buyers!
I think the cosmetics of the bike are a good indicator of the overall mechanical condition. I doubt that a wing with faded or scratched paint is as mechanically sound as a pristine motorcycle.

One of the best videos I have watched...excellent
nice job good content well defined thanks
@@Hogdriver88 as long as i put the money in your hand, i should be able to ride it whether i buy it or not. if i damage it, of course i buy the bike.

Excuse me interrupting you at the fifteen minute mark but you mentioned highway pegs! How do you fit them with all that engine?? I would have thought them impossible and me being 6foot 5 inches they are a necessity . Thanks for all work too sir.
Crash bars. I was looking at a 2010 that has engine guard and the highway pegs already there.
You sir have my attention
That's a great great Video. Thank you very much 💪🏻🙌🏻
Oddly Nada Giudes and Kelly Blue Book do not take mileage on a motorcycle into account when calculating a bikes used value. After market items has no consideration on a motorcycles value even if the seller wants to think it does.
Any tips for buying from an out of state owner?
All I need now is a great used Goldwing.

Great video
Not a single word about what you did and didnt like gen from gen. How they felt next to each other.
