I always practice swings with my shovel when I'm digging my car out of the snow and dreaming of summer.
A picture is a thousand words. Well done 👍
This is awesome advice!!!
FANTASTIC LESSON!!!! Simple, direct, doable. Will immediately add to my practice sessions. You guys are fabulous!
Sometimes it takes extreme measures to feel the correct action, as demonstrated here. Good stuff as always!
That actually really practical unlike a lot of golf instruction I’ve seen on youtube.
I love y’all’s lessons … creative and simple explanation of a pain in the ass game
That is a great drill Sean! Nice!
No turn cast for the win!
When you feel like the bottom of the shovel is going straight down to hit the ground (or continue down through the surface of the water ) and you’re making the moves taught in the recent shallowing and arm speed videos, does the face automatically square, and or rotate due to the anatomical limits of the of the arms and the wrist, or should there be active forearm and wrist rotation?
I have in mind, the move that Pete Cowan teaches and has referenced in his instruction to Henrik Stenson .
My take on this is that when at P6 (shovel has splashed the water during downswing), you have a a straight wrist and everything is square. From there, it’s all about rotation, and then releasing the club. That’s what I feel.
Very creative demonstration of shallowing the club correctly.
using such blades, the air resistance will give even better feedback for understanding the speed. Thanks
Patrick Reed even likes this drill on course
So good
Love this example!
great optical.
Thanks
Good visual
super!
Wouldn't you have to "splash" a little behind you to get the arms and wrist to work on the right path?
Wow.
I've watched a LOT of instructional videos, and the Athletic Motion guys get deep in the weeds..... sometime too deep😁
They do great analysis vids and there's always something to learn on every one off them, but I'm pretty sure he just demonstrated the "Holy Grail" move from "Overhand Golf"!
Club face would be closed at the top of backswing, isn't that a problem that creates a hook?
Weird method to shovel snow but I’ll be open minded and try it out
That's a good concept. I just don't like how it makes your wrists unhinged early
If your body isn’t in the right place the arms won’t know what to do anyway. Prioritize the body positioning first then everything else.
Don’t dig up the turf like you would a shovel 😅
😊❤
