Jim is so down to earth, knows his limitations, ie knows when he's lazy, knows when he's productive, knows when he has to work, so cool. I miss him in Stone Sour, but he's obviously happy just playing with Slipknot. I'd love to have a few pints with him and talk old school metal, Beatles, motorcycles and Mopar.
The interviewer did such a great job at just simply listening to what Jim has to say, not interrupting, just listening and letting Jim be as comfortable as possible. You feel like he’s your best friend after watching an interview for two minutes.
I’ll just say in the heat of the pandemic I like countless others had descended into a very dark place. Luckily I had the wherewithal to turn off the news and turn on the music. Call it a planetary alignment, happen chance, divine intervention, whatever but I owe my life to UA-cam, Jim Root, Slipknot, Fender/Squire and Stay Metal Ray. I’ve never held a guitar let alone contemplated purchasing one. From the bottom of my heart, unbeknownst to any of them they all provided enough of a unified energy to pull me from my self created abyss ♥️ humble, benevolent souls...the world certainly needs more of them now...thank you Jim!

@@oisinuresmaher I met the whole band backstage Belfast few years ago.Brought my son who was 8 at the time.He is now 12 an huge slipknot fan.They WERE ALL COOL,but jim really took time to talk to my kid an corey too.SO i never forgot that.The show was killer to.sucidal played support.it was amzing.

When he said “I don’t have a wife or kids” you could see the pain of it on his face. It was pretty noticeable. He seems depressed. I think he may have some sort of disease that is holding him back from doing certain things in life that he really wants to do but, feels as though he can’t due to it. Just an empathic observation...
Yes - he and Slipknot played Wembly in 2015 with Korn - they did the Sabotague cover together. I was there! 😁😎 Really good interview, so thanks for this. I just wish he was asked about his time in Stone Sour, making many excellent records with them! 😎
I've had the fortune of meeting Mick mor ethan once! I used to stop by Des Moines and visit Donnie who was a friend of Mick. Great Guys! Mikael is definitely a theory expert!
