I have an unfounded feeling that very few of those questions are about the gear, especially to this detail, because it can be very dry to non-gearheads, so it's not often he gets to geek about how his stuff. "What I do is... I beat the shit out of my strings... just stretch the shit out of 'em. Then you lock them down and you've got your fine tuners". That is so refreshing to hear that from Mick. I've been playing Floyd Roses since the late 80's and it was a guy who roadied for GnR that told me that trick. Stretch and stretch and stretch again your new strings as you put them on. Then not only will you stay in tune (cos you do) you seldom break strings. Last string I broke was back in 1991. Not broken one single string since I started "stretching the shit out of 'em". Whooo. Mick without sunglasses.
At the beginning Mick’s staring at the guitar as if he’s nervous the captain might drop it lol.. awesome interview!
Love the way Mick has mellowed through the years
Mick and Jim shared the same "You know" Haha
Hendrix, Clapton, Beck, Winters....wow! The fact he’s acknowledging these guys is awesome!
I can only imagine that Mick knows & likes Anderton's stuff. Might be the best interview Ive seen him do, though I havent seen em all either
He seems so cool as a person.
What an awesome interview. Mick is such a gear nerd and I love that.
All those years ago when slipknot came onto the scene who’d have thought that their two guitarists were such chill, knowledgable and likeable dudes.
