I love reading your comments about how this series has impacted your life. Please leave more.
@smb85 dkc94 impossible - game boy didnt exist in 1984.
i hope this franchise never dies like Marvel, DC, Star Wars, etc.
Geekdom101 so Goku becoming a “Monkey God” was pretty much foreshadowed for a long time. Lmfao
My question is
Is dragon ball a wuxia novel?
@smb85 dkc94 I don't want to imagined that.
No matter what people say this show will forever be amazing it always makes me feel like a kid and never want to grow up
I love dragon ball
@outlawstars100 Atleast he destroys false rumours and gives more interesting information smh
Jesus Christ died for our sins and rose again put your faith in Christ…
The story of a legend.
Abyssal Rayz I as a Vegetafan disagree! DBZ was the Story of the Z fighters told from the viewpoint of Goku. That doesn’t mean goku needs to win all the time vs everyone
Abyssal Rayz And that’s the thing why thru DBZ this series became a worldwide HIT. We all got hooked by all the incredible fights and all the characters
Abyssal Rayz picollo vs Cell and 17 and Frieza. Tien vs Cell. Gohan vs everyone, Ginyu Force Battles, Trunks and his Battles, Kami, All of them were important!
Abyssal Rayz all those battles were legendary. Everyone got their shine and skillsets, everyone wa different example Vegeta, Picollo, Trunks, Gohan, Frieza, Androids, 16, Kais u name it
DBZ did everything right and was the height of Super because it was not about 1 Legend, but about multiple LEGENDS!
Toriyama is a child at heart. Which I absolutely love 😁
He really is!

Dragon Ball has such a positive impact on my life. My family loves watching it with me, I can never imagine what I would he like without it. All I can say is thank you Akira Toriyama.
(And of course, thank you Geekdom for creating such quality content!)
I agree people say that this is a horrible show and say that its trash but watching dragon ball makes me feel a certain way and I feel like I could never turn my back on this show I just love dragon ball
@@johnsonwayne7136 Why would anyone hate dragon ball?
@smb85 dkc94 Thank you, Toriyama's wife.
Facts
@@michaeleverett1376 Well... it kinda suffers from any basic writing problem that shonen anime can. Of course Dragon Ball was completly ahead it's time. Still, the amount of criticism you could put on the series is pretty heavy.
Dragon ball and dragon ball z have influenced the world of anime and the world in general like so much.
fact
Dragon Ball & Dragon Ball Z are just one series called Dragon Ball
_Dragon Ball has really made an impact on my life. It lead me down a path I never imagined taking without it. Thank you Toriyama and Thank you Geekdom_
Dragon Ball is probably the love of my life. I’ve the collected the blu rays, dvds, manga, and video games. I don’t think there’s any other anime/manga that I resonated more with me. Pokemon was my first anime but it never really stuck with me. Dragon Ball however is a whole different case. The fights, humor, themes of never giving up and overcoming obstacles is what drew in not only me but an entire generation to the franchise.
My collection isnt as big as urs.i dont own much stuff in general as im poor..lol...but i have original dbz dvds.and some movies..also some figures and art work.but the impact its had on u is similar to mine. even with the pokemon reference.iv even convinced my 32yr old friend watch it.he watched all dbkai and he is half way through movies b4 he starts dbsuper(he loves it).z especially just blows my mind everytime i watch it..im so passionate about dbz.its a show that makes u feel like ur a super fan and its special 2 u..then u realise through the db community just how much its impacted ppl and actually ur not special for liking and its the show its self thats special and it just has an incredible following and fans all over the world.
Dragonball is one of the many cartoons that served an important role of my imagination’s growth. My love for Dragonball is unwavering and it always shines my day.
I love this franchise too, and i never want to stop being a fan of it.
@Devan Smith I know, but it's not a normal one.
Toriyama is a great Goodhearted Man with a creative soul.

@@Geekdom101 someday I want my Cartoon Series to be as popular as Dragon Ball did, and Toriyama and Satoshi Tajiri are my biggest inspirations. Only problem was I couldn't decide over Animated Television Series or Video Game Series. My name is Deiontre Carter and I'm an 18 Year-old artist and I watch your Videos while Drawing all the time.

As someone who'll be 23 next month, Dragon Ball is a show that always stuck with me no matter what, since I was a very young child. Catching episodes on Toonami, playing the video games, and collecting the action figures are all priceless memories I'll cherish forever. As someone who's been on this journey for almost 20 years, it makes me happy that I found your channel a few years ago. You re-sparked that flame that never really went out. We very much appreciate you Danny. Please continue to make the amazing content that you do. Much love brother.
The love for dragon ball is like no other 😃
I think I'm never giving up or leaving Dragon Ball, it has way too much value to myself and the world around me.
agreed and even if the new stuff isnt great - the old stuff will live forever
When I was a boy I would rush home to watch this tv show. Dragon Ball in some ways helped me become the kid who beat up bullies in the school and to have a fair compassionate attitude about it too. Goku is a great role model. I now have two young sons, and always tell them to eat like Goku! We are on season 4 of DBZ and my sons love Dragon Ball! We just watched your video because my sons have been asking, “who made this?!” Thank you for making this video! It’s amazing being able to share a piece of your own childhood with the next generation.
Thank you Toriyama for giving us an amazing childhood, we will never forget you! RIP. 😭
series has been with me thru homelessness , still pushin
Bro I love ur Caillou song, r u good bro?
Dragonball has been everything to me since I've watched it. I can never get tired of it and still grow a lot of inspiration from the show till this day! The show is just simply epic!!
I love this series to death. It's something I'll pass onto my future children. Side note It's cool how the original Bulma ended up being used for Launch's design
Same bro I'll show this to my boy
in some of the mandarin Chinese dubs they call goku, wukong
SO THATS WHY TFS TRUNKS SAID WUKONG
Yup xD tfs actually went in debt
Tfs: teamfourstar. They have made (And are still Making) an amazing abridged series of dragonball

I remember watching the first episode of DB In Depth after just moving into my dorm room for my first semester of college. Since then I’ve had ups and down but watching these videos and getting back into the series made me really step up in my lowest periods. Even made me wanna make videos myself! Thank you for 50 great episodes Man !
It kept me sane while i was bedridden with my illness. Reading the manga and watching the anime gave me hope my life could get better. Thanks to Dragon Ball I’ve meet some of the greatest friends i have.
That’s awesome man. Hope you’re doing better now my friend.

I remember running home to catch the Funimation dubs when I was a kid and then watching GT at night when it first came out thinking it was crazy to see how they all grew up. Nowadays gt is like a taboo lol but back when I was a kid and it first released c'mon you guys can admit it you thought it was cool too !! Dragonball definitely became my childhood through Budokai 1-3 and then infinite world (best Budokai game) on PS2 with all my friends, then the Budokai Tenkaichi trilogy kept us going for even more years and years... Dragonball so Nostalgic for me man always be part of my heart thanks for the killer content bro!
You just described my childhood! Honestly I loved GT when it came out on Toonami too. It was around the same time as og Dragon Ball started airing iirc. Haven't seen GT in years but even though it isn't the best show in the franchise, it did have some cool stuff (SSJ4, Super 17, Gogeta). And don't even get me started on the games! Budokai 1 changed my life and Budokai 3 made it worth living! Those 2 are super nostalgic for me. The intro to 3 was epic and so was the song Embrace the Blue Sky from story mode. The Budokai Tenkaichi series was great too esp with the team option they put in
Thank you. Toriyama always make me smile.
The moments from Dragon Ball that I can remember where The Ox King, Bacterian, Tien, Roshi Goku vs Jackie Chan, The Red Ribbon Army and Goku fighting Piccolo.
What about general tao. I think he was the first to be able to beat goku.
@@quazar4773 Roshi had him beat before Tao

Hoping for a video on the history of Dragonball in South East Asia countries
You should talk about how Akira toriyama has also done other work like dragon quest and chrono trigger
He sorta did, but briefly.
Toriyama's work in Dragon Quest is amazing, my favourite works of him
Thank you Akira Toriyama for creating this series and thank you Geekdom for sharing this story.
This anime was my inspiration when I was a kid ,and even to this day ,every time a hear the intro ,my heart is melting .
If it wasn't for Dragon Ball existing i wouldn't be the person I am today Nice & Encouraging , and caring for others
If I never knew about DB who knows what might have become of me
First manga chapter was published on my birthday. Feelin' special now haha.
Great video as always!
The dragonball franchise has had a huge impact on my life as a child and even into adulthood. Today as I type this I am 34 years old and still will watch dragonball, dragonball z, dragonball gt (I didn't mind it), and dragonball super. I have also got the pleasure to introduce this all to my son and he is on his journey to experience this for this first time! Long live Dragonball!
My kids and I stumbled on to Dragon ball when it was aired on Saturday mornings as Kai. We have been watching it together ever since. We have watched all of 'z' and super. It has been awesome to have something that we can all sit down and enjoy together as they have grown up. My son is 14 and my daughter is 12 now and I can still get them to sit and watch with me. I am grateful for dragon ball even if it was meant to be a gag anime. For me I have watched every episode at least twice and many 3 and 4 times. It helps me feel like a kid again. Lol
Can't think of anything to comment other then i love your videos geekdom keep them up brother👍❤️
Thanks you Sensei Toriyama for creating greatness rhat has inspired millions . Your work will live on through our hearts🕊️🙏🏾
YES! Another DB In Depth! This is definitely my favorite series you do!
Nothing brings me more happiness then sitting down with my kids and watching Dragon Ball! From the great immersive story, the relatable and entertaining characters and the nostalgia, taking me back to my childhood! Now I have my children loving it and begging for weekend long Dragon Ball marathons! Thank you so much Toriyama, you've changed many peoples lives!

Thanks Geekdom101, hope you have enjoyed making these videos as much as we all enjoyed watching them. Keep up the good work and for god sakes watch some more anime and tell us about those worlds too!
A geekdom video always make my day
I just finished rewatching the original dragonball. It is so interesting to watch its evolution as it went on. How the art, the story, and even the voice acting improved as it went on. One of my alltime favorite stories. So grateful to my cousins introducing me during the cell games arc. Werid place to start I know.
Dragonball/Dbz is so precious to me that I can't easily accept new content for it for the sake of it being new. It was a joy learning of these characters the story telling, the fighting, and the themes they presented. Super does not have that. Even when I imagine an animated fight in animation class in highschool, I would use Dbz as inspiration as well as character actions.
Toriyama didn’t plan any of the story and just wrote as he went along and still it’s such a great series
Dragon ball is the reason why I love goku so much, man I love this series
of course!
This show is THEE main reason I'm a prp badminton player. This series inculcated qualities like hardwork, tolerance to pain, pushing my limits when I think I've given my all and can't give any more, always challenging myself and looking ways to improve, lessons in friendships and how once a rival can become an ally with good heart and forgiveness. There's so many indescribable ways this show has affected my life and I'll forever will be thankful for it.
Dragonball will never die. Its timeless.
You know I love how this series has that 60 minutes/behind the music/charlie rose kinda flair to it. Another similarity is how all the great TV presenters have a distinctive voice. Your accent makes you so recognizable. So many little details like this give your content a professional, timeless feel to it.

I genuinely don't know what I would do without Dragon Ball or you Geekdom. Your videos have brightened my life and gotten me through many a shitty day, and I can never thank you or Toriyama enough
Toriyama quite literally turned me onto fighting. As a kid I sat and watched Dragonball amd Draginball Z for hours. And now as an adult I box and do jiu jitsu. I love it. And if it wasn't for this man Akira I would probably never have gotten into fighting. This series made me a fighter mentally, emotionally, amd physically. I'll never not owe my lifestyle to this man. I even workout and listen to Dragonball Z workout motivation videos. Its so crazy that a show based in fiction can impact our life so much. But im so happy that it has. Matter of fact I just had my 29th birthday and it was a surprise part thrown by my family. The whole thing including the balloons and cake were dragonball z themed.
Man ive been watching dragonball literally since i was born. Im 16 now and Dragon ball was always a big part of my life. I always watched it on tv growing up (even as a baby). I grew up with the video games and i am so grateful that Toriyama came up with this story.
Really good video as always Geekdom, keep it up.
As an avid Dragon Ball fan I thank Mr. Toriyama for making this great Anime! Because of this Anime I remember lots of things in the past when everything is easy and fun when I was a kid...I'm a collector of Dragonball figure as well! 😎 🇵🇭
Running home after school to watch it, in the 90s 🥰
This is gonna be a good one.
Dragon ball was such and still is a huge part of my life me and my friends in kindergarten would go to recess and reenact yesterday’s episode or person would narrate and say: “ last time on Dragon ball Z!” And we would often even do what if scenarios on the playground. I just remember always running home to catch the afternoon showings of dragon ball and dragon ball z back in the day and I loved it.
I'm 25 and American but I didn't grow up with DBZ like a lot of my friends. Now I've decided to watch the whole saga, and I'm 60 episodes into Dragon Ball. Loving every episode so far. It feels wonderfully nostalgic, even watching it for the first time.
Should also mention how the DB franchise got it’s name. Toriyama named it after *Enter the Dragon* an English-dubbed Bruce Lee film. He stated this in an interview with Nakatsuru.
To be honest, I want to give some honest criticism on Akira Toriyama.
Akira Toriyama is a very creative writer who has impacted the life of many people and is actually quite talent. However sometimes he can be a bit slow, he usually struggles to decide on a final decision and sort of wavers across the franchise. He often forgets many things and even forgot about Lunch/Launch. He seems to be a slow writer with a good mind. I think if he finds a way to make his mind more efficient and quicker to make ideas and make decisions so there needs to be less filler in the anime and stuff.
And he ruins character’s lives like yamcha lol
IIRC he couldn't think of a design for SSJ Teen Gohan, so he used the Hero's Son from Dragon Quest V as a basis, and holy crap, they are very similar lmao
Thank you Mr. Akira Toriyama for your greatest creation and also thank you Geekdom 101 for your informative channel on DBZGTS!!!
Geekdom you are the man. If I every see you in my city, I'm buying you a drink! Stay blessed
Dragon Ball and Godzilla two of my favorite things. Thank you Japan. 🇯🇵
Dragon Ball In Depth is one of my favorite parts of your channel.
Man this series means so much to me, I'm so glad to learn this info! Akira Toriyama is such an inspiration. I got into it from a friend who had tapes of the end of the Frieza and cell saga, equipped with commercials and bad subs. As a martial arts fan I was instantly hooked and the art style influenced my art for over 25 years. And I love the whole franchise, even GT. It made many friendships over the years and it's great to see so many fans world wide. When it got big on toonami, I had already seen most of the series so it wasn't until Super that I got to experience waiting for a new episode every week and the excitement of watching along fans for the first time in my experience. Love the series!
i thought i already knew so much about dragon ball, but ive learned so much from this vid. thanks Geekdom for putting this vid out for me to learn even more. i met my irl best friend because of dragonball. my family thought dragon ball was lame till they watched it. told them 'watch a few episodes and if u still think its lame, ill stop watching it' that was 12yrs ago and we are now sitting around watching the ToP episodes.

dragon ball is the kind of show that will out last all of us just like the books and other stories its based of off i love it and cant wait for it to continue long live dragon ball and always well wishes to sensai toryiama
I think in a way, Dragon Ball was the glimmer of hope in my life for me and sparked my thrive for bettering myself and become stronger in a sense. - Since I lived through some pretty dark times in my live pretty much through my late childhood and teens.
Especially when Dragon Ball entered the training with Master Roshi arc, it did fascinate and captivate me.
I never actually thought about how deeply rooted my ability, for overcome bad and worse situations in my life, while being some what intact as a human being would be in Dragon Ball.
But now reflecting over it, it perfectly makes sense.
I think it was only very much later with Star Trek, that then shaped this inner inspiration, into something I could actually grasp and pronounce.
I also did take on Goku's training with Mr. Popo, who taught him to free his mind and spirit. This form of meditation works actual wonders and is a viable tool even in psychological treatment, how I found out later.
This show has had such a huge impact on my life idk how I would turn out without it.
I almost feel like a watched a visual documentary here man. This was well done and I learned stuff I hadn't even known about original plans and stuff. Great job 🔥
Arale is the 🐐
So glad I stumbled upon this channel. Thank you.
Good video. It's amazing how, even though Toriyama is a genius in its craft, DB wouldn't have been possible if not for the help of its editor. Editors are an often underrated position, but examples like this show how important their work really is. An early concept can always be made more appealing, or better structured, or more original.
Dragon ball has had a huge impact on my life. I first started watching when I was 9
Bro this video is awesome as hell man. This series means so much to me. I started out as playing the video games. Budokai Tenkaichi 2 and infinite world. I later got vhs tapes with me and my brother and we bonded over it. I'm glad that this series is still going and new fans are enjoying it.

That preliminary art of Bulma looks a lot more like Launch to me. I like the Launch character in Dragon Ball, she's like a 2010's comical parody of 3rd wave feminism but from the 1980's.
We just lost Akira Toriyama. Rest in Peace.
