I miss Great Apes. Dragonball was based on Journey to the West in its early days and it's just true to who the Saiyans are. Sadly, everything that made them unique was gradually removed from relevance. They all got their tails cut off and Zenkai seems to have stopped applying. Now, they are basically just really strong humans that can go Super Saiyan.
I wouldn't say Zenkai's have stopped as much as they have irrelevant, they have the power of Gods so not many people are gonna beat them however it would be nice to see an episode or movie that deals with them getting their tails back and actually learning to control the power to unlock the same power Super Broly had however it would still have it's downside of making them go Berserk so yeah extremely powerful but near impossible to control however the Oozaru is just a 10 times multiplier, it could also just be them trying to control Great ape which I mean Vegeta did so he could be teaching Goku how to control it something small and would probably be just Filler as an Episode but it would be interesting
I think it's crazy that we've never seen a great ape get overpowered by an enemy/antagonist. They have always lost through their biggest weakness which is through their tails being chopped off.

They haven't mentioned her having a tail. I think that would come up seeing as her dad had one, you'd think they'd notice that.

I hope Super brings in the GT Blutz wave machine that Bulma created and makes that canon. If I'm not mistaken, that machine was capable of forcing an Oozaru transformation, even if a Saiyan didn't have his tail. I'm hoping as a way to circumvent the tail issue (and even a reliance on the machine), one of the Saiyans could find a way to create a technique that acts in the way as the Blutz wave machine. Maybe an aura that generates blutz waves?

+Manny Gober You should go and watch Geekdom101 videos on SSJ4. Toriyama didn't design SSJ4! that's a myth and a widely held misconception.. And while SSJ5 is fanmade the guy who made SSJ5 is Torotarou the guy who is currently drawing the DBS manga.

The origin of the Oozaru was always a mystery to me. Why do Saiyans have this transformation? Why are they born with tails? I've come up with my own head canon explanation. Saiyans were originally Oozaru. The original planet of the Saiyans had multiple moons that constantly pumped them full of blutz waves. In an altercation between a group of Oozaru, one or more of the moons were destroyed resulting in less blutz waves thus they evolved into the humanoid form having tails. The remaining moon then once full would pump enough blutz into them to revert them back to that form. That then lead me to my head canon origin of Super Saiyan. A solar eclipse resulted in the emergence of Super Saiyan only in the form of Super Saiyan 3, Transcended Super Saiyan as I like to call it. Once the eclipse was over only those exposed still had the ability to transform into that form having absorbed so much energy. Through breeding, this gave all future Saiyans the power of Super Saiyan through the various forms we know, as they unlock them. Helps give an origin but that's just my head canon
DCFAYGOGUY Vegeta explained why in the manga, what happens to saiyans when they transform is they absorb the light of the moon through the moon (or replica of the light) into the gland in the tail. I imagine your theory could hold weight if the moon was constantly always there day and night?

About Goten and Trunks not having tails, Toriyama stated in an interview that the tails in the saiyan hybrids are a recessive trait which is why only gohan had it. HOWEVER, he later admitted that he simply forgot to give them tails. And by that time it was already past the point of no return.

Having tails does give them a small power boost. Even without the transformation.

I know power levels are bullshit and all but I'm under the impression that Saiyan saga Vegeta was 18,000 and Captain Ginyu was 120,000. A 10x boost would give Oozaru Vegeta a power level of 180,000; stronger than Ginyu. And it just gives me a mild sense of mind blown when I think that Oozaru Vegeta was the strongest villain until Frieza.
18k was saiyan saga Vegeta's max, however the creating of the artificial moon drops your power level by a lot, after Vegeta does it Goku is surprised why Vegeta would sacrifice so much ki. So for all we know Vegeta could have been like 10- 12k after creating the artificial moon.

I always took gokus oozaru transformation in GT as being a psychological trigger. That seeing earth and what it meant to goku allowed him to enter that state via an alternative route.

Toriyama has actually stated that he forgot that Half-Saiyans have tails.
The OOzaru must still be within them though in potentia becaue SSJ3 works by tapping into the Oozaru power.
GT Perfect file Plot Twist: Goku and Vegeta are half saiyans and the original Saiyans are Oozaru's.. Adds layers to the reason why they can become SSJ..going off the S Cells and Potential explanation.

U6 Saiyans are just much more powerful than U7 Saiyans were - excluding Goku and Vegeta obviously. Cabba was extremely close to SSJ1 form himself, he just needed a little anger boost - and SSJ1 is more powerful, more reliable and simply overall better form. Saiyan evolution is very clear - SSJ forms are dominant and more advanced transformations compared to Oozaru. Tails would be useless for a race powerful enough to be close to SSJ forms - and adding to that tails were even a weakness to untrained Saiyans.

Toriyama even did a design of SS3 with the tail back then but scrapped it since Goku's tail has been destroyed by Kami.

I never liked the idea of turning Goku back into a kid again with the Black Star Dragon Balls in order to become a Super Saiyan 4. To me in my opinion, Akira Toriyama needs to make his own manga version of Dragon Ball GT and keep Goku as an adult. Turning Goku back into a kid again was a really stupid idea and Dragon Ball GT deserves a second chance. In other words, DBGT needs to be rebooted!

During certain points in Gokus fight with King Piccolo he almost looks like he does when hes turning into the Oozaru and then when he kills Piccolo the Oozaru spirit appears behind him. I feel like the Super Divine water unlocked the Great Apes power from within Goku and gave him that 10× multiplier to take down Piccolo.
brilliant work, it was a great transformation during the first arcs of DB because of its enormous power and its lack of control. In saiyans' arc could be more useful, but we'll probably see it in future spin-offs or even in super
,if I recall correctly, I think that sayians do keep consciousness while in Ozaru form, but only when the blutz waves came From something other than the moon. That's how they could use it to their advenage while invading other planets.
I always looked at the Oozaru as the primitive origins of the Saiyans, they're evolutionary ancestors whom they could tap into for power.
Saiyans always reminded me of backwards caveman Kryptonians. Kyrptonians get power from yellow stars, Saiyans get power from sunlight reflected off of the moon like werewolves or something.

I thought the passage in the GT Perfect files were saying that the Golden Oozaru form is the True Super Saiyan form. Something about saiyans loving the slaughter and the tail is the secret of their race. Goku literally becomes blood thirsty as an oozaru.
Makes me kinda wonder how powerfull a ssjb Vegito Oozaru would be.

I always considered that Son Goku turning into the Golden Oozaru was caused by a Psychological trigger like him going into SSJ 4 because Internally he Loved Pan and controlled and channeled his Rage productively. It fits his Spiritual Journey and Struggle as a Martial Artist. Vegeta on the other hand was always about attaining Power via Physical Effort and even had artificial techniques and methods of Training throughout the Series.

Bruits waves are generated when any astronomical body reflects sunlight. This is USUALLY a moon, since the characters are usually on a planet, but if the Saiyajin is on, say, Earth's Moon or a nearby planet like Plant was, Earth's Bruits waves can trigger the transformation.

What about the tidbit from the DBS manga where we learn Saiyans in Universe 6 no longer have tails?
I would have loved that some saiyan would become oozaru at the turnament of power and made everyone go crazy. Maybe some of the universe 6 saiyans, but they don't even have a tail that we know of.
I think that Toriyama should bring it back. This was one of my favorite parts about the early series. He should get creative and bring it back during the tournament of power which would add a crazy twist if Gohan, Vegeta and Goku all changed into their Oozaru forms. Especially in God form.
How bad fucking ass would this be. Since Trunks and Vegeta are the weaker of the trio and they would obviously have the closest blood connection so the fusion dance would be better suited to the two. WHAT IF Vegeta and Trunks done the fusion dance. And we get Vegunks or whatever, then we get Goku to power up to max. SSB with the Kaioken X10 then slap the Potara on Goku and Vegunks.... Holy fuck balls, what would that even be!? Could be called, Gnofucks "silent G". As in No fucks given.
EDIT: WAIT, also what if, because the dance fusion is timed. Once the potara fusion happened, the dance fusion is within the potara, what if the dance timed out and caused them all to separate through some bullshit. I could see it if this were to ever happen. I'd really love to get a discussion around this. I've not seen anyone bring this scenario up. Seems wild.
Ace of Games ...It's just an example of max power for a fusion. Goku would not be there anymore. The combo would create an all new being, so "Goku" wouldn't have to worry about it.

HSuper Lee How do you think that would work? As in if a dance fused with a potara, would the dance timer supercede the "irreversibility" of the potara fusion? I really wish Geekdom would see this and give his thoughts. Just seems like a fun/fresh/unique thing to discuss. I def feel like a Trunks/Vegeta dance fuse plus a potara Goku vs any other sort of that combo. Or maybe a Gohan/Future Trunks dance plus a potara Goku. But then I guess the dance relies on power levels being equal as well, and Future Trunks is clearly far stronger than current Gohan, so toss that I guess.

Also one more thing about making the Blutz waves artificial moon. Nit just the elites could make one. In the movie tree of might, Turles created one and he recognized himself to be a lower warrior class. In other words a desserter and renegade individual who was outclass by goku and easy defeated if he would had not eat for the fruit of the tree of might. The movie was approve by Toriyama so its cannon.
geekdom101 would u call ssj4 the true ssj if it were canon considering the fact that it has little to no energy drains at all and its a combination of two natural Saiyan forms. so ssj and the ozaroo transformations are the yin and yang of Saiyan, but when you fuse them together you get ssj4.
Vegeta in the frieza saga said that the last ssj before Goku could only stay like that while in a transformed state but he couldn't control himself and got destroyed by his own power. so its safe to say if gt was official that Saiyan would be the first ssj4.
so if ssj4 was in dbs I believe it could be infused with god ki because its not forced like ssj2 or 3. imagine ssjb4 that would be so op.

At least that's what I know based on Overly Sarcastic Productions videos on journey to the west, but they seem to be pretty accurate and knowledgeable on history and stories like that, so I take their word for it.
To start with Id like to say Thank you Geekdom , I've been following your videos for many years, but over the past few years i just haven't been watching youtube that much. So I've been watching a lot of your videos over the past couple of days. I have a question , and i appreciate this video is 6 years old so if you don't get back to me , that is fair enough . In this video you say that the Super Elites have the ability to be conscious whilst Oozaru and their uniforms are designed to change to any shape/size. I was always under the impresion that it was because the super elites were super elite, but more because they had been trained to control the "monster" within , if you have a reason to disagree I'd love to hear it. Also the uniform, it is stated in the Namek saga that they only make one size of the Saiyan uniform and it can stretch to any size because of some magical polymer , I believe it was Bulma giving Krillin his Saiyan armour, she explained the versatility of the armour . You said in the video that this sort of armour was only for the Super Elites but I understood it differently. i'm not trying to be awkward, but if i have my information wrong i like to be set right, and i kind of get the feeling that's what your about . If i hear from you , amazing, if i don't i will not be offended, all the best and thanks again.

Thanks Geekdom101! I personally really like the oozaru form, it's pity that it did not return after child Gohan, except for in GT. Also, I wonder if Goku could have trained in some way like Vegeta probably did, to achieve control over the form. Assuming Vegeta wasn't born with that level of control, but even if it is a born trait, could Goku still train it? After all, Goku was a low class warrior, but he still beat Vegeta in terms of power at some point. I also wonder if the oozaru form could be upgraded in a similar way to the Super Saiyan series. Say, the golden oozaru could be compared with the "super" saiyan transformation, where the hair turns gold for the first time. Although golden oozaru was not in the manga.

I always thought that the supersaiyan form was only attainable for thouse saiyans that had lost their tails as a defense mechanism for having lost the hability to become oozaru. And for that reason most sayians wouldn't become supersaiyans because they never had their tail cut and because of this becoming a legendary transformation.

Goku uses the full earth in place of the full moon, because sunlight reflected off a planet also generates blutz waves.

No one said that it had to be a satellite that reflected the sunlight. only that it had to be reflected, thus it makes perfect sense why staring at the earth would trigger the golden ozaru. the earth is larger than the moon, thus, more light is being reflected.

I've come to the understanding that Saiyans have special memories that are passed down in child birth. Many Saiyans used the Great ape form even bardock thus this was passed down to Goku who thus passed it to Gohan but not goten since he had Lost his tail a while ago and thus goten and trunks where born without tails and having ssj.Also if you think about the fact that Vegeta in the HoT timeline probably didn't become a ssj nor was he on the verge of it having Never seeing one possibly other than on namek.That said this could be another reason why the form was difficult for trunks to attain. I'll stretch this to super and say pan will go ssj, not only will she have gohans massive power but we saw videl transform during the god ritual so it's a definite possibility. I wouldn't mind seeing more info on ssj4 or even a slight rehash like hybrid form

Hopefully in the upcoming movie we get more ozaru transformations
if i could have any one thing in dragon ball super i want Cabba and Caulifla to see one of the universe 7 saiyans Vegita or Goku turn Oozaru would love to see their reaction because the Oozaru form is my favorite transformation in all anime
Bulmas Blutz wave generator was actually pretty contrived... as until Goku went golden oozaru and then SSJ4 there was no reason for it to exist... I highly doubt Baby had any desire to turn into an Oozaru prior to Goku doing so and something like that would have taken time to conceptualize and then build, even for super genius bulma.
