I feel like there definitely are NOT enough episodes of this show with Gok. He's like the personal cheerleader that we all wish we had to make us feel beautiful.

That the cut is perfect or not, yes, this!! Everyone has a shape that looks right, that flatters! not the bride's issue but the choice of garment.
Absolutely. My mum said I looked "fat and old" in my dress, and it will forever sadden me that she chose those words (my entourage actually loved it, as did my husband, and I kept that dress. I still love it); It's better to say something like "It doesn't show off your figure/I don't like the lace pattern/I would like to see you in a different silhouette first" etc

Absolutely, the friends are there to support the bride in her choice and be really kind and tactful.
Love how Gok fits the dresses properly onto the brides so we can really see it without alterations. And his choice in styles.... really know what they're doing in that shop.

most consultants aren't designers, knowing where to put the pins needs someone who knows how to alter a dress. But I agree that consultants should be trained to do that

The 3rd dress is fabulous.
Gok has quite a history, particularly in body perception and confidence. Worth looking him up. Wikipedia has a big article on him.
Anyone else loving the sister-in-law? She is so pretty, and I love everything about her look, from the shade of her lipstick to the soft green woven dress. And, most importantly, how emotional she gets about the yes dress.

Does anyone else get nervous when they come downstairs in heels and a big dress? I would not survive that journey.
All my rehearsals were with no heels cause I hate them so imagine me on my wedding day... I wore them only on church and then changed into flats! My hubby and best man during the ceremony looked at me wondering when i would fall! I pulled them through but never again!!
I have enough problems going down the stairs in sneakers, I would end up in a heap at the bottom of the stairs if I tried to wear heels.
100% I would end up going a** first

Gok is a magician a motivator and fairy godfather all rolled in one. He's so talented at finding the perfect dress and bringing out the true inner beauty in everyone he helps. He did it again in this episode. The bride looked absolutely radiate and gorgeous in her dress.

Wow! Sister in law looks incredibly beautiful in the best of ways and her makeup just compliments her beauty amazingly! Her mint dress, not sure if it's one piece but both the skirt and the sweater look both confortable and elegant, i wanna buy the outfit now and copy the makeup. Absolutely lovely inside and out.

The first dress I thought the waist was too high/short relative to her generous bosom and broad shoulders, and that made her look heftier than neccessary. It made her look like a dumpling and was just wrong for her.

I'm so glad to see a bride push back on her entourage, especially in an appropriate way. She looks great in the dress she chose, but I'm glad she said she was annoyed by their reactions to the first dress. Folks, it's the bride's vision that matters. Feedback is valuable, but see beyond your own biases before you ask the bride to change what she wants.
But what if the bride wants a style that truly doesn’t suit her body? Shouldn’t you, as kindly as possible, say so?
@@kathleenlindquist4799 Absolutely, the entourage is there for a reason. If you don't want critical opinions, don't go shopping with anyone or make it known you just want them there to ooh and ahh.
Imagine if they didn't give feedback she would've said yes to the first plain awful looking dress instead of the absolute beautiful one she chose all because you want them to be "nice". Honestly just because someone is gonna be wearing a dress for a few hours doesn't mean the people she brought with her (for their opinions in the first place) cant speak up about how they feel.
@@kathleenlindquist4799 the issue is that there are boho dresses in different cuts and that's not what they were pushing. They just didn't like the boho because they had their own biased view of what a wedding dress is.
Then there's no point in taking anyone with you if you aren't going to listen to them. Surely if all three of your companions are in agreement that the dress looks awful on you it will mean a large number of your wedding guests will secretly be thinking the same thing?
The first dress added 50 pounds to her, it was awful. The second dress was so much better and the third was perfect for her.
If cloning is ever a thing - Gok should definitely on the list.

The first half of the episode was negative and I felt bad about the entourage's unnecessarily harsh comments, but the third dress was SO STUNNING on her it made me forget about everything else. Her face completely lit up and she looked absolutely beautiful

The first dress was more what she said she wanted but the third dress was what she didn't know she wanted.
I started dying laughing at her entourages reactions to Gok asking _”are you saying yes to the dress”_ they were so blown away & all giddy like *omg omg omg he said it! Did you hear him?! He said IT. He said THE LINE. JUST LIKE ON TV. Omgggggg.* 🤣💀
Ok what’s with the damn Rugby players? Y’all remember the episode with DE & the auntie called her niece a rugby player cause of her shoulders & then she said her thighs were huge?! I’m not understanding the massive amount of discouragement from people these days. She’s a beautiful woman🤎‼️

Gok is an amazing stylist. I love how he chooses the right dresses and also make additions n alterations, so that it ticks all the boxes for the bride. Gok is brilliant. Bless him
Lancashire salon it's just the best option of the SYTTD franchise. The other ones (excepting Curvy Boutique and Ireland sometimes) offer dreams but are not offering the high class service, the sensibility and the respect for character, money and wishes of every bride in their stores. Auntie Gok and the assistants in Lancashire do what we were supposed to receive at every bridal shop at every place. Love that.
This bride chose the perfect dress, her body shape, her face, the way to walk with, everything made her shine and look glamorous. First time I don't feel the crew and the rude critics something awful. Mom's bride was really interested in watching her daughter beautiful and suggested the best style without malice. Maybe she didn't know more words but wasn't joking or hurting her daughter's feelings.
Lancashire and Atlanta are the only two I watch.
Essence of Australia! SYTTD Lancashire has got a real edge over the other SYTTD versions with this brand, which is so stylish and flattering.
Those other shops have that designer also, they just never show them.

She looks BEAUTIFUL in that dress. I didn't think she'd find anything better than the 2nd dress which was lovely on her, but the 3rd one blew everything else out of the water. It looked like it was made for her.
I really enjoy seeing families mesh so well together - the sister of the groom grabbing the mom and sisters hand is too precious.
If I could hear my child saying they love a dress, I would know regardless of what I think, that's the dress she wants. That being said that 3rd dress was stunning and I'm glad she didn't go with the first pick.
I'll say that it's alright if u like the dress so pick it aside as a choice and let's try some more bcz maybe u will find something u like even more.. That's the way mom always said whenever I went fir shopping with her and many times u find sth better.. There were times I liked some dress and she liked sth else then she will be like I'll buy both(I am not saying that's what you can do on wedding dress but I am just expressing howom handled things & she did that bcz she wanted me to wear more colorful dresses & I went for more sober colors.. I always got compliments when I wore sth of her choice so now I like buying those kinda dresses too)

I never married until I was 38. I was in no hurry because I didn't really want kids, but I always had it in the back of my mind that I'd like to find a life partner one day. After years of waiting, the right guy came along. We've been married for 27 years now, and I love him more now than I did 27 years ago. Don't rush! Wait until you find a person who treats you the way you want to be treated; a person you *like* as well as love. It's the liking and respect that get you through the rough patches.

Note to self: you might go into a bridal shop with an idea of what you want, but keep an open mind, you might find out the perfect dress for you is the exact opposite! (Same thing happened for my sister and my aunt, they wanted something simplistic - and ended up in blingy ball gowns 😅)

The third dress did look nice on her, but then again, I'm sure Gok could have worked his usual magic to find a "boho" inspired dress that would have been a better fit for her body shape.
How do you know that this is not the way these people usually talk to each other? The "rugby player" comment was not at the bride but in a side comment to the producers. With the comments the bride made, it seems to me that they are all pretty frank to each other. It is not wrong or right, but just the way they talk. If that is the case, the entourage was rather too nice when commenting on the first dress.
