So glad these are being uploaded as the complete marathons with moving images. Monster Madness is my favorite thing Cinemassacre puts out, and I love watching them all together. The Sequel-a-Thons are some of the best!
I watched it back to back Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein I've seen it many times growing up I'm 57 but that is by far one of my favorite old school movies
Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein was a guilty pleasure when I watched it in the 80s as a kid.
6:40 - FINALLY, I’ve been looking for this particular clip for YEARS now. I remember there being a mention of the “In the Name of God” part of this scene, but couldn’t for the life of me find it in any of the Monster Madness video’s prior to this! Glad this compilation was released when I needed it the most.
It's worth noting that Terry Pratchett plays on that "using the same actor to play different mad scientist assistants" strangeness with his Clan of Igor's. They're all named Igor. They all look mostly the same.
This was a good year also. Loved the Halloween and Nightmare on Elm Street segments.
Not seen these old movie reviews and monster madness episodes for sooo long, loving rewatching these! Keep em coming please haha
The Sequel-A-Thons were by far my favourite of the bunch. James must have busted his ass working on these for an entire year because they were the most detailed videos yet and there was one for every single day.
Godzilla Thon for me
Nah, they only took like a month to do
James had crazy work ethic back in the day. Theres a raeson he's still around.
Yeah back when James actually had a passion for these things, these days, I think its more about the paycheck than anything else, it shows in his videos.
I guarantee you, Like all these videos, Mike had a good part in all of it
56:00 Boris Karloff dodged one right there lol 🔥
I think that it's easy to think of the monster as the offspring of Doctor Frankenstein. His name would also be Frankenstein. Only we call Bizaro, Bizaro. Bizaro calls himself Sooperman.
3:11:30 "This is the one we're stuck with as the final film of the series"
Oh you sweet summer child
"It's alive, it's alive!", I love Science Fiction! The comedy with Gene Wilder is my favourite Frankenstein-version. Keep up the good work, James!
Man these videos had such a major effect on me. They Introduced me to Hammer and Toho, two movie studios I've been obsessed with for years since. Im still devouring all of the films I can and discovering new ones every year. For example Hammer has so many films, once you make it through all the Draculas and Frankensteins, you then get to some of their other greats like Captain Clegg, The.Gorgon, Rasputin The Mad Monk. There's so many to discover, I'm still working on it. same with Godzilla and Toho. By the time you see all the Godzillas, then you have to check out Mothra, X From Outer Space, Attack of the Mushroom People and so many more equally entertaining films. Not to mention Gameras amazing set of shlock films, which aren't Toho but are still fun to discover and unpack as a series. James gets a pass to do whatever he wants and ill always appreciate and love the man for opening so many awesome doors.
That scene in Dracula with the curtains in ' horror of Dracula 'is my favorite scene in early horror movies ❤😂😂😂🎃
I’ve never heard anyone mention it but I think the reason fritz was so cruel to Frankenstein’s Monster is because after Frankenstein exhibited his excitement towards the monster after he created it caused Fritz to see The Momster as a replacement for him, a replacement in the hiearchy in Frankenstein’s mind.
I've always liked that demented fixed stare by Fritz. 8:06 He looks absolutely lost in thought over the fiendish act he is about to perform. He loves his "work." What a creep! The Universal monster canon is what I grew up with. "The Bride of Frankenstein" is my favorite out the three Frankenstein movies with Karloff as the monster. What really affected me was the scene in "Bride" with the monster falling against the coffin with the perfectly preserved woman, after which the monster waves his hand over the dead woman's face and softly utters, "Friend." As with the monster meet-up with the blind hermit, that aforementioned scene displayed the monster's "humanity" and loneliness. Thanks, Cinemassacre Clips!
😅
😅😅
@@professorstokes6596 Please give Barnabas my regards. 🦇
Kinda funny when you realize both leads in the Hammer Dracula Films would then go onto be in Star Wars. Hell, Lee arguably got a funny in-joke for himself since.. Well, Dooku and Dracula have that hard D sound in their name, and.... well, both characters certainly have class.
My all time favorite Monster Madness, I love it when James covers franchises, and Frankenstein and A Nightmare on Elm Street are two of my favorites
The name Igor was around LONG before Young Frankenstein. I think it was used in several satires, or cartoons.
I like to think 'Wes Craven's New Nightmare' is a direct sequel to 'Dream Warriors' and Nancy is living in a dream limbo.
Hammer's Dracula has more weakness than a normal human...
I always thought the Monster being called Frankenstein was because the Monster itself IS the Frankenstein family's legacy due to how infamous he was
maybe its called frankenstins bride cuz "frankenstien's monster's bride" just didn't quite sound right lmao
It's like Hitman's Wife's Bodyguard.
The "woofman" 😂
Every time ha
Drives me nuts lol
@@SteveS1980 I think it's adorable 😅
@@BreenBreen710it's his Philadelphian accent lol
Kinda like how he pronounces "burial"
Freddy : " you forgot where you came from but I know where you're going . "
Halloween 2018 : but wait there's more
To everyone saying it’s recycled, I believe that the reason is because the older monster madness years weren’t on UA-cam previously aside from reuploaders
I didn't mind that they made Dracula able to be resurrected by a bad splinter but giving him the durability of a soap bubble made the sequels kind of tiresome.
Oh god I loved watching Abbott and Costello with my Nonna, thanks for the nostalgia blast Nerd
Great having these old editions to fill the month of October!
I hope the full *Kongathon* gets posted too!
I know that's technically not Monster Madness, but that's exactly the problem: it deserves to be put here side by side with the other MM's, just like the Friday the13th marathon! (which already received this treatment)
I can see why a vocal minority have tried at every chance to tear down AVGN and Cinemassacre. A lot of the older material has an edge to it. Classic stuff! I could rewatch it to no end bc it's good material. Thanks for hours upon hours of past and continued entertainment.
What ?
They have a good argument when they talk about the deop in quality, but the hate is just TikTarded imo.
If you don't like it, don't consume it. It's insane how some people waste time on making videos, posting, commenting etc.
Like he hasn't once mentioned a moose's asshole in this video lol
What? Who and when "tried to take down AVGN and Cinemassacre"? It sounds like conspiracy bullshit...
who ever did that? never seen it
2:08:04
I knew this would be a scary video, but i was not expecting to see that kind of horror!!
It actually is explained why Dracula and the girl want to put Costello's brain into the monster. They think putting his brain in will make the monster more controllable because Wilbur is too meek and stupid to rebel.
"She's calling it quits, in the hopes that the filmmakers would be inspired to do the same." Oh, you sweet summer child.
Just watched Frankenstein on TCM and I noticed a plot hole. How does the father of the drowned girl know it’s the monster’s doing? The girl and monster were alone with no witnesses. I guess dad just assumed?
Good assumption to make. I would imagine back in the day it was easier to assume anyways
In F vs J. She doesn't get hurt when the nose removable happens because Freddy "isn't strong enough" yet. He vaguely mentions in when a kill he tried early on fails.
Best weekend entertainment you could ask for ... 10/10...
14:45-Sort of reminds me of Goonies when Chunk was eating the baby ruth with Sloth
This is definitely my favourite Monster Madness marathon with bunch of horror movies with Sequels, these has make me go and buy any of them!
Many thank you for getting this out on UA-cam and a perfect timing for this Halloween 🎃
I’m so glad these are being reuploaded with the clips.
I would argue that the monster is the doctors son, and that since his LAST name is Frankenstein, that makes the monster a Frankenstein
Why are you doing this?
@@FSU2001 if you create a human life, is it not your child? Should the means of creation matter?
@@Nesenda
I’m just typing nonsense.
Thats the argument I've heard for a long time.
Wow! Amazing!! Particularly the sequence that concerns itself with Hammer's Dracula films. As much as I love all of Hammer's Frankenstein films, I prefer their Dracula movies - probably because they more consistently feature both Peter Cushing and the great Christopher Lee. I've watched all these Dracula films too many times to count but I had completely forgotten about the endings to Dracula A.D and the Satanic Rites of Dracula. Those were awesome! Particularly Christopher Lee's monologue about the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse!! Those two together were an incredibly potent duo in film!
“The Ghouls will not replace us!”
“The Ghouls will not replace us!”
“The Ghouls will not replace us!”
That darn Fritz messed it all up!
Love everything about this! Thanks James and company 😁
the monster is made by victor so its his son like parents make there kids .. or if you perfer adopted so in either case the monsters sir name is Frankenstien so he also at the same time frankenstiens monster so hes both ..
Whose brain was it, then?
Abby, ... something
Abby who??
Abby... normal?
Such a classic line! 😂😂😂😂
This is one of my favorite Abbott and Costello movies Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein😂
If you watch ST:tng Data builds a daughter. If you use the same logic Frankenstein builds a son therefore it's not a stretch the son would have the same family name. Junior Frankenstein.
Call me sick and twisted, I actually didn't mind the Psycho remake.
It's alive! It's alive! It's alive! Is the best saying in any horror movie ever made!
You can argue that the monster is Frankenstein.
Dr. Frankenstein created the monster, so he could be considered his father. And when you’re the son, you take the father’s last name which is Frankenstein.
This was exactly what I needed to listen to to get me through half my work shift
Everything you said was facts and I feel the same way. They have oversaturated D2 with monetization and not giving us any value with the annual releases. No updated gambit, no updated strikes or pvp it's the same rinse and repeat grind of the core Playlist of the same strike you've done 10,000 times before. I want to see D2 go down in flames
If I were to name my favorite sequels Psycho II, Nightmare on Elm Street 2, Evil Dead 2, and The Devil's Rejects if I were to list my least favorite sequels Terrifier 2 I was expecting more nightmare fuel than watching a kids show turn into a bloodbath
The Devil's Rejects wasnt a sequel. it was a a stand alone movie.
I feel like calling the monster Frankenstein is correct. I have a legit reason but I won't waste my time writing it unless anyone asks.
Alright, I'll ask for your reason.
@@MrGewey Because Dr. Frankenstein gave life to the Monster. The monster should adopt the Frankenstein name since Vic frank is technically its father. Or it can be that his discovery or creation was named after him. Scientist sometimes do that
@@WTF_WHAT_THE_FLICK Ah, I suppose that makes sense. Thanks for the explaination.
I think it was more the hit song from 1962, "The Monster Mash," that cause people to associate Igor with Dr. Frankenstein. The song mentions his name twice, the last being the Dr. calling out to him, "Easy Igor, you impetuous young boy." Growing up, you listen to this song every Halloween, and eventually, you associate the two as always working together.
Haa! 1:40:56
I don't know what you're talking about, I think that music sounds Great with Godzilla doing his little victory dance.
😅👍
I love seeing bela and boris together
So the "monster "never had a name? That's messed up. Imma give him one.
Who is watching this in 2024?
Halloween tradition to watch some classic Monster Madness lol.
Every Halloween 👻🎃
He was just teaching her how to swim 🏊
He proved that she wasn't a witch
@@nickmontoya3001 that too
That's basically how my dad taught me. Sink or swim.
@@HellOnWheeldamn I lucked out my dad actually saved me from drowning instead of drowning me
@@HellOnWheelI know someone who learned the same way.
3:06:05 I would have loved it if in the final fight between Michael vs Laurie, we never see Laurie run to the next location or see her, we just follow Michael and Laurie starts appearing out of nowhere like he does making her the slasher villain now lol
Stabbing victims have been known to be stabbed upwards of 90 times and still live to go to a hospital before they die.
To be fair, if they don’t move or the attacker isn’t picky on stabbing everywhere, they may just stab the same area more than 20-30 times. I can imagine a 50+ stabbing attack can take less than 30 seconds
Thanks for all the great content James. I love watching all these new videos after a long day at work, very relaxing 👍
I loved seeing bela in the island of lost souls.
This is out of fucking control. Hold up! Did I just see there’s a sequel to THIS?! Cinemassacre, you, you’ve earned it (handing you a Twinkie).
i the the Monster is to be called Frankenstein's monster, but as early as The Bride of Frankenstein movie he had been called Frankenstein. a character in The Bride movie
refers to the monster as Frankenstein and who is the Bride for?
Thanks a lot for this one. Great way to introduce younger viewers to classic stuff. Respect 🙂👍
In all fairness, there are a lot of Pauls in England.
1:46:27 The convenience of a shrubbery and a dumbass 🤣
My favorite season of Monster Madness, mainly because of the trek through Nightmare On Elm Street
Also tommy Doyle from Halloween 6 is Paul Rudd 😂
Love these "a-thon" videos.
3:04:41 There is a scene between Kari/Laurie and John where he makes a reference to her telling him that she watched him burn to death
God I loved Monster Madness.
Wow, I never realized just how many Frankenstein movies they made, and we think they do too many remakes and reboots now.
😅👍
I know!! Trippy huh!
53:01 Wolfenstein
Absolutely Loving all the re uploads here and new stuff on the other channel for October, I wish the Halloween and Christmas seasons lasted more like 2 or 3 months each.
😅👍
who watch this for 😴??
Lol absolutely no on3
Hell yes. The best
Yesh
@@999lone5are you saying I am no one?
@@moiseskerschener2634 I was referring to watching this for entertaining purposes and not to get me sleepy. That's what that person was referring to

Happy Halloween 🎃
DR F looks like a combo of Jonny Knoxville and Kevin Bacon
20:54 i saw the title for 'the invisible ray'' and for some reason i didnt think of ray gun or something, but just a guy name ray who could go invisible
This was one of my favorite MMs!! It got me into watching the first Halloween back in highschool!
Simply superb.
"What kind of steroids were they giving him in that asylum?" Haha, good point! 😂
Nobody ever got that the monster is Frankenstein's son, so his last name is Frankenstein too.
Bride of Frankenstein Jr
Is it just me, or does James say “woof” instead of “wolf”?
A) Have your brain put into a monster's head
B) ...?
C) World domination
Frankenstein is a last name; Its 100 percent okay to call the monster as such as he is the creation of Dr. Henry Frankenstein and is practically a son.
this makes so much sense
Karloff was 5'11", Legosi was 6'1".
They were cast because they were tall!
5'11" is not tall.
@@fuckthisstupidasshandleshitaverage height in the US increased 3 inches between 1900 and today. It would have been relatively taller back then.
pure excellence!
I grew up crushing on danielle harris so i thought it was awesome she came back for the rob zombie halloweens ! Her and jodelle ferdinand i felt were such great child actors that were in such a cool diverse genre range of movies! Like I'd say they beat out dakota fanning
keep them coming James!! I believe in you...or whatever
Thanks!!
This came up on autoplay and, well, i guess Spooky Season starts now!
Paul Rudds charm dismantled him.
Love it!
Yeah, I watched Freddys Dead when I was 16(just got my DL when this came out, I would have driven myself there lol), and I never knew that real 3D in the 50s-80s didn't look like this cheap 2 color garbage, and it looked just like it did today with the polarized glasses and perfect color.
