😅 😢 Love this video but brought tears to my eyes watching Charlie bring out the '58 Les Paul Tuxedo, triple pickup "Mick"..... my awesome husband's guitar. So happy it ended up in Charlie's hands!
I feel like bonamassa isn’t that bad about it, I yours and appreciates almost all the good stuff unless it just toooo rare! Dave amato is the episode that really hurt!
My favourite "Collection" episode so far, incredible collection of guitars with some amazing stories behind them. Blackberry Smoke are a real favourite of mine and Charlie Starr is a brilliant guitarist, singer and songwriter and he knows how to buy special guitars and obviously loves 'em !!, many thanks to Mark and Gibson for having Charlie on 👍🎸😄
The best guitar show on the internet, yet to make a bad episode, I’ve been watching Mark since guitar of the day, to see where he’s at now is nothing short of incredible and a true testament to sticking with your passion no matter what. Truly awesome!!
It's really cool to see how these dudes will happily show other brand classics in these documentaries. They got their priorities right and this content will age like fine wine.
That was the BEST 90 minutes I've ever spent on UA-cam!! Seen Charlie a bunch...spent some time with him a couple times...he's just one of the nicest, friendliest guitar masters in the world!! And his momma, Tanila, is an ANGEL!! She is SOOO proud of her boy...and rightly so!! Good people, y'all!!
Charlie needs to tell everyone about his secret weapon, the rugs!!! The Afghan rugs are the trick to center your mind and feel relaxed while playing somewhere, they give an aura of familiarity to every gig no matter where.
@@jonathansteadman7935 not sure if it is a southern rock thing. My dad is doing that since the early 90s (including some living room lamps) and he's never been a Southern rock guy, much more influenced by the grunge scene. I think might just be a 90s thing 😂
HAPPY THANKSGIVING IM THANKFUL FOR GIBSON GUITARS AND MY LES PAUL WHO I NAMED "REBECCA" HER AND I HAVE TRAVELED THE WORLD TOGETHER. GOD BLESS YOU ALL!!!!!
Wow….just wow. I love that Charlie is the guy with these great guitars because he plays them so damn hard and so incredibly well and we get to hear them do what they are supposed to do.
This is one of the few shows that I immediately click the Like button!! Between the artists stories and the encyclopedic knowledge that Mark possesses, it allows for a total guitar geek out!! Much love and appreciation!!
Best episode so far! Charlie Starr, the guy that actually knows where his guitars came from and one of the best Gibson players out there! Still waiting for that Gibson Signature Series Charlie Starr model...btw
ABSOLUTELY loved this episode! Charlie Starr is such an awesome person and musician! Love that he actually plays these and they are not sitting in a case locked away. When will we see a Charlie Starr signature Jr?
Definitely the best episode yet. A fine collection of guitars that are used to make great music. It was great to hear Rick Richard’s get a shout out. One of my all time guitar hero’s,also hearing the story of the haggis guitar was so good. I didn’t know the full story till now. I wish I could have had another couple of hours of hearing the guitars being played.
I play bass, but also love guitars. I’ve seen every episode. This one’s the greatest thus far! I guess it’s about 50% because of this player and story teller I never heared of before watching this video. Thank you, man. I’ll be checking out your music! 🖖
Great episode featuring one of the best southern rock guitarists of recent years. Wonderful collection of guitars that stand the test of time without a problem!!!! 👉🎸👈
What a freak out. Not a geek out as I'm not a guitar geek at all. Just a huge fan of Blackberry Smoke. This was unbelievable. A masterclass with Charlie and Mark. This interview blew me away. The filming so up close showing the guitars as if I could hold them. Charlie is the real deal. Thanks to the Instagram clip that mentioned "The Collection" interview. Thank you so so much for this. Words fail me. Best geek guitar interview I've seen with Charlie. Merci and see you in Paris and Brussels in Sept. 2024!
great episode. charlie is so cool and mark is doing some of the best work of his career. so happy for mark and his gig at Gibson. Wow, what a collection!
Really great episode. Charlie is one of the most interesting players today. His playing and his thought process around why he does what he does is so articulate and inspiring. Thanks!
Charlie is authentic.... a musician who is a fan that appreciates all music... and appreciates his own fans who support him and his amazing band. Great interview... I could listen to Charlie tell stories all day. He need to meet Otis Gibbs and share some of his stories on Otis' channel.
Oohh man....this is what it's all about! The first part where Charlie talks about his dad...pheeww! All good from there on! What's not to love! Big love from Sweden! 🇸🇪
Great episode & collection of beautiful guitars LOVED the story about Haggis & his Tele - An amazing band that should have been bigger - RIP Frank C Starr Defo going to check out more Blackberry Smoke stuff out off the back of this
I love Blackberry Smoke and Charlie. I enjoy his chats about guitars almost as much as the music. I have my tickets for the next show in Boston. Thank you Mark and Gibson for these great videos.
GREAT episode. Charlie is one of the really cool guys in the business and love for the working instruments is what it's all about. Great interview by Mark with lots of interesting stories. 👍
Awesome episode. Great song writer, great guitar player and for those fortunate enough to meet/know him, a great dude. In fact, the entire band are great people. #SpreadTheSmoke
By watching these videos, you can tell Gibson values the history of guitar regardless of brand. Very happy to see Fender, Martin guitars being shown in this video.
Thank you again mark! Thank you Gibson!! Thank you Charlie!! That was a beautiful collection of working guitars! We see a lot of collections of guitars that are kinda just for the fact of owning the entire set. Much like Joe bonnamassa and his crazy amp collection. But when I see a guitar collection that is a collection of tools for the reason of its a tool that only does the work that I need it to do. That’s the collection that I love. Not to mention that I love me a single pickup guitar. It reminds me of my hammer that I wear on my hip every day. It only has two functions. It pulls and it hits!! That’s all I need it to do. But depending on how hard I swing. I can make it tap or I can make it smash!
Another great episode Mark!!! Great collection Charlie. You guys rock. Caught you in Pittsburgh years ago, hope to see you and your awesome jrs again soon!!!! Mark, keep up the great work. Gibson Rules!!!
I loved every single one of those!! One stand out, if possible, was the 12 fret, slot head Martin! You don't see many 12 fret Martins, or slot head steel string Martins, both together is amazing!! But all the single pups!! Mark is a great guy I've known for years from NRG, and Charlie is just a sweetheart. LOL Excellent video!!! 8) --gary
I have a 1952 All Gold Les Paul. I bought it 8 years ago for a song. It had a headstock repair which is why I could afford it. I tried for years to get next to the tiny frets and original tuners. I finally bit the bullet and re fretted it and put rerpo tuners on it. BEST THING I EVER DID! Play them! Thats why we have them
great interview, had a very fun, laidback vibe. I sure liked his stories: y'all, birdshit in the f-hole, hillbillies and jazz cats, the bequeathed LP custom, and the Haggis #2
Watch Charlie Starr introduce his signature Gibson Les Paul Junior: ua-cam.com/video/LwAjTO8-gHI/v-deo.html
Gibson is the one.
There is
😅 😢 Love this video but brought tears to my eyes watching Charlie bring out the '58 Les Paul Tuxedo, triple pickup "Mick"..... my awesome husband's guitar. So happy it ended up in Charlie's hands!
Went to a great guitarist. Rip 🙏 I've seen Charlie play all those guitars over years.
I never met Mick, but it brought tears to my eyes as well. I thought, damn, Mick lives on through Charlie and Blackberry Smoke! God is amazing ❤
Karen I’ve seen blackberry Smoke a lot of times and have seen Charlie play your husband’s guitar more than a few times on stage. Great tribute to him.
This is such a great episode. A real working collection rather than a warehouse full of guitar cases that haven't been opened in years.
(Bonamassa)
I feel like bonamassa isn’t that bad about it, I yours and appreciates almost all the good stuff unless it just toooo rare! Dave amato is the episode that really hurt!
You said it all
I agree the Dave Amato episode was so dull. Also Rick Nielsen and Cesar Gueikian (apologies Gibson) @@graymurray4952
Right on, it's nice to see guys with 400K+ bursts and other unobtanium but the Jr's are within reach of us regular folks
I’ve met Charlie a dozen times, hung out on the tour bus, he is a truly, good southern gentleman. And a kick ass guitar player with no ego.
My favourite "Collection" episode so far, incredible collection of guitars with some amazing stories behind them. Blackberry Smoke are a real favourite of mine and Charlie Starr is a brilliant guitarist, singer and songwriter and he knows how to buy special guitars and obviously loves 'em !!, many thanks to Mark and Gibson for having Charlie on 👍🎸😄
I don't think I've ever enjoyed an interview as much as this one! Love Charlie ,his music, his guitars, and this look into his world.
The best guitar show on the internet, yet to make a bad episode, I’ve been watching Mark since guitar of the day, to see where he’s at now is nothing short of incredible and a true testament to sticking with your passion no matter what. Truly awesome!!
Charlie, in an interview and probably daily life, seems more down to earth than probably anybody I've ever listened to.
It's really cool to see how these dudes will happily show other brand classics in these documentaries. They got their priorities right and this content will age like fine wine.
Yeah, I feel lik they are doing those for guitar players who just love guitars, and Mark is a guy who also just loves guitars.
This has been the most awesome hour and a half I've spent on UA-cam in forever!!! Thanks guys
These episodes are by far my favourite on this planet to watch great stuff. Gracious

Awesome!!!! Good guy and a really great player. Good to see Charlie getting some mainstream recognition.... well deserved.
Charlie rules. I hope Gibson makes a signature Jr. with him at some point in the future. Thanks for this!
A black one 👌
Sounds great…just don’t wanna pay 6k.
@@swaffy101you shouldn’t buy a Gibson then
He needs a Jr and a Esquire signature model
How about an Epiphone version so us working class musicians can afford one 😂 honestly i would just build my own from a precision guitars kit.
Great episode! Charlie is an amazing songwriter and player, with a killer band behind him. ❤ BBS
I love Charlie, he is a talented and passionate musician. And he's a cool guy...
Charlie needs to tell everyone about his secret weapon, the rugs!!! The Afghan rugs are the trick to center your mind and feel relaxed while playing somewhere, they give an aura of familiarity to every gig no matter where.
Think that's via the Black Crowes and Southern Rock bands back in the day.

oh man i love to hear the storys .,they are as music history as the music and musicians them selves .Charlie has great taste in guitars .
Wow….just wow. I love that Charlie is the guy with these great guitars because he plays them so damn hard and so incredibly well and we get to hear them do what they are supposed to do.

Still waiting for that Gibson Signature Series Charlie Starr model...btw
So glad Charlie included the Hagis guitar. Always love hearing the story behind that guitar!
ABSOLUTELY loved this episode! Charlie Starr is such an awesome person and musician! Love that he actually plays these and they are not sitting in a case locked away. When will we see a Charlie Starr signature Jr?

@@gibsonguitarseriously you guys gave Rick freaking Beato a Signature guitar but not Charlie. That's messed up. Charlie > Rick ALL DAY LONG.

Why in the F-ing fuck is there not a Charlie Starr Gibson signature Les Paul Jr. ? Honestly a high end Epiphone signature too, we poor out here..
Be patient
