Last video of the year! It's been a wild 2023, thank you to everyone who tuned in and made this my best year EVER. Just a heads up that I will be reducing uploads in January to 3 times a week on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday. There will be no video tomorrow or the next day. I know a lot of you love the daily uploads but I've been pushing myself really hard these last few months. I need a break so I can come back better than ever. Thank you for understanding and Happy New Year!

Absolute ZERO chance that mole story is real. I’ve had moles removed several times purely for vanity reasons so 100% out of pocket costs, not covered by insurance. The most expensive one was $250. I don’t care if you go to top flight A1 cosmetic surgeon of the world, nobody is charging $10k. And more obviously, nobody is paying that randomly to their wife’s friend because, duh, photoshop.
That girl made a TikTok video so she could point out her mole to let everyone know how much she “LiKeS HeR apPeRanCe dESpiTe hEr FLaWs 🤪”

Interesting you say it like that. Maybe the bride had some kind of personal vendetta against babies because she “blames” a baby for injuring her husband, him having to go through PT, and having to postpone the wedding. I didn’t think about that possibility until you put it that way. No way someone describes a new born as baggage to their friend without having a personal issue. I really dislike kids and even I would never say something that grotesque. It’s a crazy theory, but she sounds crazy enough for it to be possible.

When my best friend got married she was 36 weeks pregnant and, unfortunately, I couldn't attend the wedding because I was also pregnant and got Covid the week before. And even though this woman was very pregnant and it was her wedding, she and her husband left their own party to come to my house, leave food from the buffet at my front door and have a chat through the window, all because they really wanted me at their wedding. And that's just one of the many reasons why she is my best friend and the godmother of my child. She's amazing and I couldn't be happier that our children get to grow up together ♥

Had to miss a close friends wedding because I was 38 weeks pregnant. The day of their wedding the bride and groom came by, cooked me lunch, and just pampered me since I couldn’t really leave the house. I cried and tried to give them a gift but they turned around and gave my husband and i $500 because “we have everything we need, you have a little one”
I, of course, did the same thing when she got pregnant with their first.

Sounds like you have your priorities straight. It always seems like a massive red flag to me when the bride thinks her wedding is similar to the Coronation of a queen. This entire cultural idea that the bride is a princess/tyrant on her wedding day is ridiculous to me. A little pampering and compromising for the bride, fine. This type of bridezilla stuff? Nonsense. I guess my dumb guy-brain always thinks the wedding is about announcing to friends and family that *two* people are spending their lives together. I've said more than once to a friend that if she treats you, your friends and family like this before you even say I Do, it's only going to spiral downward from there.

That’s crazy! In my country, the ceremony is in the morning, then pictures, then reception with lots and lots of appetizers, great quality and hot if they have to be (we’re European after all). They may have a couple speeches at the wedding, but not necessarily. Dinner is ALWAYS served at a reasonable hour, and the food is usually great. Usually speeches and sketches are after dinner. Again, we’re European, food is important. 😂 The dessert may be after the dinner and funny skits, and after the dessert, the party starts.
I don’t like weddings, but at least ours have great food and we don’t have to wait for it. 😂

      2. Not a ceremonies worth of crying, as some ceremonies can be long and with no one to hover and fix makeup, it's gunna be all cakey and weird and smeary, then yall can literally hug every guest as they make their way to the venue, maybe take a couple silly pics or something fun, or fuck it, skip aby extra all together!
      3. Guests don't have to wait hours and YOU'LL be able to...guess what....ENJOY COCKTAIL HOUR! ❤ which imo ends up being th3 best part and sadly for my step sister they wrapped up as she got to the venue :c

I have had two moles removed in the course of my life. Not for vanity, but because my grandmother had a mole similar to mine, and she died of melanoma when my dad was 6. My parents decided to have the largest mole removed when I was 10. The other one, I had removed at age 20. Anyway, having been through that process twice, the bride doesn't seem to realize that your skin has to heal after having the mole cut off. Even then, you can get a scar. My scar on my neck (that was my big mole) is about half the size of that large mole. It's very easy to see the scar.
Also, why can't the bride just have the photograph get the mole out of her personal photos of the wedding? Probably less than $10K to add that edit to it. She can leave it for anyone she's giving the photos to. I don't get how her mole ruins everything.

I have also had 2 moles removed. 1 looked like I got shot, the scar was so big, and the other looks like I got stabbed. The moles were smaller than the scars but given a family history of skin cancer, I don’t take risks.
That bride was just being ugly and I hope the lady kept the money.

    • @what_equals_42

Yeah, mole removal is not a thing to treat lightly. I've got a gnarly-looking scar on my upper chest from a childhood mole removal, and every now and then someone will notice it and assume I'm a melanoma survivor. No, that's just what happens when you cut a big mole off a young child- the scar stretches as you grow up, with the added bonus in my case of crappy suture marks because decades ago no-one cared about minimising the scar. 😅

    • @OldJoeBlows
      @OldJoeBlows 8 місяців тому +13

I 85% think the story was bs. I too have had two removed. I love the internet bc ya all don’t know me. I was born with a raised mole on the lip of my who-ha. When I was five my mom had it removed. I remember it clearly, how scared and traumatizing it was to take off my tights and lay down with all those strangers 😢 I’m going to be 51 years old in a couple of weeks and I can feel how scared I was. And, it did scar! I have a scar on my who-ha! I’m definitely glad I don’t have that mole. Mom knew. The second does look like a bullet wound scar on my shoulder.
So, yeah if it is true, she’d have a scar and they are freaks for asking.

Many years ago, we attended a family wedding out of state. At the time, our children were 6 and 4. The rehearsal dinner the night before started with cocktails (no food) at 6 pm. When there was no sign of dinner starting by 7:30, I ordered food for my hungry and tired children. After they ate, I took them back to the hotel so they could go to sleep. Never got any food myself. The early afternoon wedding was lovely, but again there were cocktails, no food, for several hours before dinner. This time, we picked up some sandwiches after the wedding and went back to the hotel for naps. I didn't make it to the reception (kids slept for hours), but my husband did. The kids and I watched "Shrek" on the TV and ordered a pizza.

About the wedding in which there wasn't much food between the 5 hours: I attended a wedding as a little stand up photographer. Basically, I just stood there and took three photos, which printed out in a little printer and I cut them and gave it to them.
So with this wedding, before all the lovely speeches started, people got food before hand. And this was an ACTUAL decent amount of food. So they didn't have to sit there and listen to speeches while going hungry. (Also the wedding was so pretty and the speeches were amazing. I almost cried 🤣)

The first thing we suggested was that she and her husband must eat breakfast, with snacks available during their preparation (HMU, dressing, picture taking). They prepared snacks before the ceremony which included a bottle of water, chocolate bars, and candies, and snacks/drinks/cocktails after the ceremony for the guests while waiting for the dinner reception.
No one was hangry and everyone enjoyed and joined the program/games before dinner was served. Great wedding!!

After learning what I hated about weddings that I attended, I planned my wedding carefully with those things to steer clear of.
My wedding was 5 hours total. 1 hr ceremony mass, immediately followed by cocktail hr with drinks and finger foods and only a 3 hr reception. We had a buffet of cuban food and other items that we knew our family and friends liked (yes, we asked a food preference months in advance to make the menu). We only had 35 guests tops, so this kept everything under control. We also had on the back of RSVP cards song requests. This was used to compile the playlist and people loved hearing their "jam" during the reception.

(Especially since the one who told me I was a bad mother kept popping out babies and dumping them with her disabled mother before leaving to find a new man.)
There’s a few events that teach you about who you’re hanging out with. Having a baby is one of them. I’m not even saying they were bad ppl, just immature & incredibly selfish. I have some empathy bc I didn’t even know how insane having a baby was. The insane hormones that nature smacks you upside your head with to ensure a bond. Like you go from, I just met this baby, it’s funny looking, to, I will kill anyone who looks at her sideways. Like even having other ppl hold her for to long makes you long to have your baby back. Like books don’t emphasize enough how insane that time after having a baby is.
We also don’t have enough edu as a whole about the changes new parents, especially the mothers, can go through.

After suffering through some rough weddings I made sure that my wedding prioritized my guests as much as possible. Also, we ate less than an hour after the ceremony so there were no starving angry guests. 😅 It was the best time ever 🥰💃🏻

I worked for a catering staffing agency, and it's wild to hear about wedding food being bad, not enough appetizers, and apps getting cold! Most times they feed staff the leftover food while everyone is dancing, and it was a highlight of the job. Especially if there were desserts!
We also worked for event planners who did not let you stand still the entire cocktail hour. You had to be circulating not-stop and were expected to go back and get a different dish if no one was taking yours. God forbid something get cold. Guest would see me coming and literally start waving me off, "No more! We have to eat dinner!"
I actually loved the job, especially weddings, because pretty much all the guests were happy and in a good mood. I did work in retail previously, so that might explain my experience. I'd consider going back for extra money, but I injured my back and shoulder, so it's no longer an option.

We had something similar to the first story happen at my job except they did pay a deposit for something. They were originally going to get married on a certain date, but before COVID hit, they apparently ended up pushing it back to 2022 (no idea why). They had last talked to the Events Manager in 2020 just before he was let go for personal reasons, but they didn't speak to a single person until the week of the event. All they had was a receipt that they had paid their share of the deposit. No copy of an updated contract, no e-mails, nothing. We also had an Outlook calendar with confirmed dates in it, so it's not like the Events Manager couldn't put it on the calendar. Something clearly wasn't properly confirmed and the venue hall ended up being booked by someone else. Not sure what the end result was, but moral of the story: always pay your deposit, always take a copy of your contract and any updated revisions, and always check in with your venue periodically, especially if you book 2+ years out.

Good for you. I am a professional pianist /organist and have played dozens of weddings. One young girl called me to play for her wedding, and I showed up at the church for the rehearsal. The minister at the church didn't even KNOW there was a wedding booked for that weekend. He said no one had contacted him about it, and they are usually booked months in advance. Which meant the bride never made arrangements with the church.
The pastor was shocked, but he would do it, because surprisingly THAT was the ONLY weekend that year that just happened to be open. But, he wasn't pleased at all, neither was I.
Then, I tried to use their organ and it was locked. The pastor told me that NO one can play the organ except the organist they have, and that organist wouldn't play the wedding, at that late notice.
The bride asked if we had any equipement that we could bring in.... (which we did) but it took going back home GETTING the keyboards, speakers, sound board, wires, and everything else. And, it would cost 600 dollars for this.
The bride's father was LIVID....at me and my husband for charging for this, but we didn't goof up their wedding.....they did. They just didn't want to pay for it.
Then.....everyone finds out that the groom couldn't make it for the rehearsal, so his buddy stood in for him, which was weird.
The next day....when the wedding was taking place, thick white smoke and a horrible smell started coming into the sancutuary.
Turns out, someone in the fellowship hall (where the reception was going to be,) had terribly burned the Sweedish Meatballs, and the smoke and horrid smell was going everywhere, including the sanctuary. It was nauseating, and I trying not to retch while playing the ceremony.
Also, when I actually met the groom, I was shocked because he was so scary looking, and seemed like he was mad at the world, with a scowl and angry face, and demeanor. Maybe he was a nice guy, I just couldnt tell......anyway.....this was a wedding that
      I will never forget.

I think the lessons from Charlotte's last video of the year are :-
    1) Don't be a bridezilla , if people don't make it to your wedding on account of personal matters that's ok .
    2) Don't ask others to make physical changes to their body so that they won't ruin your wedding photos . That they are present is enough beauty .
    3) Dont give long winded speeches at weddings . Say "Wish you a happy married life and thanks for inviting me" and sit down .
    4) Carry protein bars at somebody else's wedding so that you dont get hungry while others are giving their long winded speeches .
    5) Call out anyone if they are being a bridezilla , even if they are family .
    6) Charlotte is always gorgeous and funny , even when she is enacting a bridezilla and her mom 😊 .

Once we we all living in the same city, we had problems getting along for several years. After we worked things out, she mentioned she thought I had been mad at her because she hadn’t come to our wedding-😱 wait, what!? you weren’t there? I had actually forgotten🤣. THE BEST party I have EVER been to was my Nephew's wedding a couple of years ago. He had the privilege to marry The One for him, The Love Of His Life. I am SO PROUD of both of them!
The wedding and reception were both held at the same (decently local) venue so only a few people had to do any real travelling (they REALLY WANTED to be there and they had to travel multiple States distance to be there but they are able to afford it).
The whole thing was held around Halloween (no, not ON Halloween, just near it so nobody will forget the anniversary). So of course it was a 'Costume Optional' party and some really awesome cosplays showed up. There was an MC who doubled as DJ, there was dancing, there were games, obviously there was a Costume contest for all the kids involved. There must have been about a hundred people there. All of the food was brought by everybody who showed up, most of it home-made-with-love (it was all GREAT because my family and the in-laws actually do know how to throw a decent barbecue).
The ceremony was officiated by the parent of my nephew, my older sibling (who was slightly angry that they got roped into being the officient...lol). Tears were shed (happy tears) but there was WAY more laughter and above all, FUN. It was amazing.
I thought my own wedding had gone really well several years prior but my Nephew really took the best of what happened at mine and ran with it, plus what my new In-Law's family could come up with. It was truly amazing.
I have not been to any event like it since and if that is the last big party I ever attend, I will be happy with that. I will treasure the memory forever. It was seriously SO cool! :)

We had deposits paid and contracts signed well in advance. We bought things we would need (decorations, centerpieces, costume pieces, etc.) as they went on sale so our total wedding came in under $3,000 (excluding airfare to get us to there, but the airfare round trip including our honeymoon was a little over $800). The reception hall has been used by her family so many times over the years they gave us a discount, plus the food was delicious (Italian style buffet). It was beautiful, everyone had a great time and we had other weddings complementing our Lord of the Rings / Mediaeval costumes (we did a theme wedding because why not).
