How can they be eligible for parole so soon? This was a brutal, premeditated murder. They should never be allowed out, ever. Sentences for cases like this are too lenient.
Woman/girls get shorter sentences for crimes like these, although such violence is rare from woman/girls when it does happen the courts tend to have mercy upon them. They are also much more lenient towards minors.
It's punishment for one murder. So there's a chance that they might not do it again, maybe they'll realise their mistakes after being in prison for a couple of year. That's their thinking. Plus they were minors when they did it. So 30 years to life seems pretty decent.
Still, young and dumb people. People deserve a second chance. All you people who want these ridiculously long sentences are hypocrites. This should be 7 years in prison, no longer. And longer is pure wicked.

Sad fact is, she trusted them. They were like her sisters, and they did this? I can't imagine how she must've felt being stabbed continuously by her OWN friends. Being stabbed is very painful but knowing the people who are stabbing you, are your friends? That's worse than death. Those girls destroyed so many lives; Skyler's family and their own family. For which reason? They didn't like her. Rest in peace.
the saddest part is every couple years the poor parents will have to continually be put through hell and attend parole hearings and stress of reliving it over and over. Justice system needs to have much stricter limits parole hearings for the victims families. the parents have a life sentence and these vicious, sociopaths get to spend their lives having every comfort the world offers prisoners now. Internet, ability to marry in prison and have conjugal visits, get medical care, get college degrees, great health care, tv and cable. Things many hardworking decent people cannot have. Prison to me means you lose all of life's privileges and comforts. You get 3 bland meals, hour of daylight, work yourself non stop, and can only check out a book occasionally for good behavior. But no these vile people are allowed to write books, profit, terrorize their victims from prison and live a better life than they did on the outside.

I feel like I avoided a similar situation once in my life. I had 2 friends I was cool with but they had a friend who never liked me despite my best efforts, and one day they asked me to come over and hang out with them, but this third person who never liked me and was never nice me was being suspiciously nice and trying so hard to convince me to come over, but I denied the offer. A few months later for some reason I can't recall (I'm 25 now I was probably 17 or so then) we got into it on Instagram, she was being rude about my art and through messages she admitted to having mean intentions that day. She said they were all going to basically make fun of me the entire time behind my back/to my face and I still to this day think they were planning something much worse. To this day I don't have many friends and I have no faith or trust in anyone I meet. I can't say for sure they'd murder me but still, if there are and teenagers reading this, don't feel so alone and willing to do anything to fit in with a friend group. She also wrote stuff like “I never argue or fight with my best friend. I don’t get why girls do that.” She also talked about SVU constantly. She was mocking the police looking at her Twitter account. Wish Mr.Ballen talked about their social media, how Rachel broke down and went to the psychiatric hospital before confessing and then wiring herself up to get Shelia to confess (as she made a deal for a shorter sentence). How they had to be home schooled because rumors were going on about them at school and them being the ones who committed the crime, their “lesbian relationship” that was possibly the motive for the murder - that Skylar knew about. I found it it insane that also, Rachel went on a boat on a lake with her family and friends the next day and had pictures taken of her, and acted like everything was okay.
@@cordeliachase601 What they show in posts is them trying to act tough. No person can get through a thread of people truly disgusted by them. If Rachel didn't have a nervous breakdown and remained silent, they would've gotten away with murder. Crazy to think a couple of teenagers could carefully plan to kill someone for such a petty reason. Teenagers are scary.
I have to disagree, I believe shelia's narcissism would've eventually led to their being caught. She was absolutely DYING for the attention when the rumor mill was in action -- kids at school were suspecting them because there was an additional rumor that Skylar caught the two of them getting a little frisky with each other. Shelia was not gonna be able to keep the secret forever -- Facebooking "we really did go on three" ?! 🤦🏻♀️ she wanted to get caught sooner or later.
@@s0lastsummer7 Maybe Rachel caught onto this and knew they would get caught, so she had a mental breakdown about it maybe even after a not so friendly discussion with Sheila. Either that or just the guilt/remorse really set in on Rachel because she wasn’t a complete psycho like Sheila.

I work with teenagers from troubled backgrounds and circumstances. It is completely unsurprising that teens are capable of this kind of cruelty. They can get an idea in their head and it becomes truth when strongly tied to emotions. I try so hard to teach empathy and critical thinking, but it's becoming more of a battle every year.
You can teach critical thinking…reasoning is a thought process. You cannot teach empathy, because that is rooted in emotion. Knowledge and reason are objective. Emotions are subjective…or lack of.
The more highly educated and introspective a person is, the greater their emotional intelligence will be. They possess stronger reasoning skills and the capacity to consider the consequences of their actions and how this will impact other people. The majority of violent crimes are committed by youth in poverty (young, uneducated, and desperate is a bad combination)
The girls in this story were poor and from the working class (like in most of these stories). Skylar was working at Wendy’s and lived in an apartment with her parents (who still both had to work to live in a small apartment). I grew up in a wealthy area & even the poorest among us still had houses & didn’t force their teenagers to work

She was killed by another girl and her jealous girlfriend who knew the gf was eying Shanda. Always a disturbing situation, but ever more unbelievable when the murderers were friends with the victim.
Sheila was a psychopathic narcissist and Rachel was just a manipulated pawn who was still in the love bombing phase and went along with whatever Sheila planned because she was her "bestie." It doesn't excuse Rachel's part in what was done to Skylar, but sociopaths do not have nervous breakdowns that lead to confessions of murder. And considering how little remorse Sheila exhibited during the trial indicates that she reveled in the attention and had no guilt whatsoever. Sociopaths can feel some moments of guilt, but psychopaths aren't capable of true remorse or empathy... they can mimic it very well but they don't experience it the same way most people do. Sociopaths have a better chance of responding well to therapy than psychopaths typically unless the affected party finds it absolutely necessary to change.
You know, it's crazy, but the other story Mr. Ballen did about a similar situation in I believe the 80's if I remember correctly. Anyways, same scenario pretty much, 2 friends plot and carry out murder on a 3rd, and the mastermind behind the plot then goes to comfort the poor girls grieving mom, and even weaseled her way into moving in with her. It just adds a completely different sickening level of evil to the entire thing.
Sheila is a sociopath or even psychopath... Other one is not as weight of what they done caused her mental issues. It's horrifying to think that if Rachel hadn't had a nervous breakdown, that eventually led to her confession and the arrest of her and Shiela, that Shiela who seemed like she was a sociopath possibly could have killed again. What a horrible story, yikes.
The fact that nobody figured out that was Sheila's car in that video is insane. That's such an easy thing to determine and as soon as her mother was told that they "dropped her off around midnight" I immediately suspected that was a lie. It would have been so easy to match Sheila's car to that video, not that it would have made a difference but still.
Besides that, why did the police never consider them a suspect/search the car/search the house? At the very least they were the last people who saw her alive (if their story was true)
i’m from morgantown. growing up, my mom always had a hard time allowing me to hang out with my friends after fights. i never understood the paranoia but now that i’m an adult i completely understand. you did this story and Skylar justice. love you💛
It's just weird how complete sociopaths can just blend in. Sheila trying to assist with the investigation, all the while knowing everything ... And the fact she can be released is why we need less capital punishment bias for female perpetrators. Just evil.
@@ThenDarknessFalls rachel on the other hand, i could see her getting out. i don’t think she should be free but i think she needs to be in a mental hospital. i definitely think it was Sheila’s idea more than anything and she probably manipulated Rachel into helping. could be wrong, but those are just the vibes i get.
I immediately recognized it from the photo in the thumbnail. One of the saddest stories I've ever heard, and all because these girls didn't think Skylar "Fit in with us" RIP Skylar you deserved so much better then those awful excuses of human beings for friends : (
Yes she did deserve better friend, rest her soul. I hope those so called friends of hers can fit in, in prison. They get to live the rest of their lives and possible parole, unfortunately Skylar doesn't. 😔😥💔
This story had me making a mental note to myself to always ask the hostess of the tea party just where the water for the “tea” came from, going forward!
It's scary knowing how Rachel and Sheila could have gotten away with it forever. It just goes to show us how there could be hundreds of people that have been murdered like this and that the criminals probably got away. The world is truly a cruel place in the dark.
The number one thing police look for when looking for leads is motive. If there isn't one, it makes finding the trail of breadcrumbs nearly impossible without a tip. Most murder mysteries are solved because someone outside the police comes forward with a tip.

I can't imagine what the father was feeling hearing about how his little girl suffered and died needlessly and so cruelly. I have one daughter myself. She's 23 years old. She's a daddy's girl and my pride and joy. I don't think I could be as brave and strong as Skylar's father. I would have a mental breakdown
You mind if i take her out to dinner? I’m 24 turning 25 soon I’ll show her a great time and I’ll even be old school about it. Pick her up in my car. give her flowers, introduce myself properly to you, etc etc
Thank you for finally turning this into a story. I remember hearing about this story on the news and hearing about the murder but never getting the full story.
As a mother of a 6 year old girl, this utterly terrifies me. I know this is a rare case and doesn't happen every day, but it makes you want to bundle them up and protect them forever.

I have 2 teenage daughters, 15 and 16. And this chills me to my very core! Girls are mean and I've told my girls to nvr ever fully trust anyone like this. Girls at this age are so naive and wanting to have a friend and be liked. And in the same they're also very nasty and vindictive and cruel. I remember my high school years and I hated it. Even still to this day I still do. That poor girl😢
I feel for all of you and for them too, around this age range most people think any teens who are not in a bad crowd would ever do this. But no one can know what's going on in teens, children, or adults mind. Not just the nice neighbor, quiet kid in class, but anybody can do this horrible
You've been severely missed sir! This is family time of year though and you've given us so much you deserve your time away. Thank you for the story times you've provided all of us in '21.
When I was a kid I had a similar thing happen to me. They didn't plan to kill me, but they did beat me up pretty badly, so this story was very close to home for me. I know the horror she felt, I felt it too. It brought back some of the worst feelings I've ever felt in my life. Rest in peace Skylar....
Actually, even if you don't clean your toilet bowl after each use, toilet water is cleaner than most creeks in the wild. Those creeks are full of remains of dead animals, urine from animals and poop from animals. All open water resevoir have this, even if household water is somewhat treated, toilet bowl water is perfectly fine, just ask your cat
I had very abusive "friends" in school too. They would dump me in random places in the country side and I would have to find the nearest house and call a friend of my moms to come and get me. They put glue on my chair. More mental abuse than anything because I was shy, naive and really wanted to have a friend. My parents have a lot of mental problems so I didn't have anyone to go to. So you get influenced much easier when you are alone, to put up with the abuse. The biggest thing is that they try to keep you down. Thinking bad of yourself. So anyone reading this, accept yourself first. Then you don't need anyone to tell you that you matter. Matter to you.
That's awful girl what little bitches. I am crossing my fingers and hoping that you have not got too much leftover baggage that you were unfairly dumped with thanks too a few cruel teenage molls. Chin up, moving forward. Big love and hope you are well friend, this is the place where you can unload a bit of anything that was left rattling around upstairs from the mental abuse you obviously have suffered.
holy shit. i had to do a double take when you said they started stabbing her. what absolute psychopaths. people think teenage bullying is juvenile and insignificant, but stories like this show how far it can escalate. the scariest part is how unexpected it can be for those surrounding the victim -- it feels embarrassing to say your friends are treating you poorly, so you go around acting like everything is normal. so heartbreaking
@@jimm7346 I could be wrong... BUT... The Slenderman stabbings didn't have the MO for "We don't like this bitch... LET'S KILL HER." At least the Slenderman Stabbing was based on a delusion.
I know the story takes a turn, but in regards to what's being talked about around the 12 minute mark: this is why I always make sure anyone I drop off anywhere is inside their house before I pull off, no matter what. I will watch someone go inside 1,000 times because what if the one time I don't, something bad happens?
I do this too, and I get kinda judgemental if someone doesn't do his for me when they drop me off lol. My friends think I'm paranoid, but I think most people aren't cautious enough.
I'm the same way. I think it's a good habit if at night, to make sure you physically see the person either enter their home and shut the door behind them or enters their vehicle and safely pulls off.

Regardless of the victim’s young age, this was a completely premeditated brutal murder - of any person. These girls should never see the light of day. The are psychopaths. No excuse for what they did. My deepest condolences to her parents. I can’t imagine anything worse.
They should never see the light of day again, why wasn’t this treated as a kidnapping murder, as they crossed state lines, it at least should have been federal. I feel terrible for the parents, the fact Rachel tried to apologize is fucking stupid. “Oh yes, I forgive you for tricking my daughter and brutally murdering her because you did not like her anymore.” Fucking stupid.
Agreed, NO excuse for what they did. Should've granted them Hard Time. Meaning, making big rocks into little bits of rock. That we call gravel. My condolences.
Hope you enjoyed your break John, you deserved quality time with the family in the holiday season. But that's not to say I wasn't like a drug addict suffering withdrawal waiting for the next release. Your story telling is so on point!!
I agree!! I've never followed a UA-camr this way before but the way he tells stories is just so compelling. I found myself checking his channel for new videos even though I get notifications haha
I also remember she was hesitant to leave with them, fearing they'd beat her up. But they convinced her that they were not going to hurt her. I wish she'd have listened to her instincts and they should never get released
Never ever ignore that gut instinct/feeling. Millions of years of evolution have developed certain senses to help keep us safe. The problem is people just don't seem to understand that there are predators in human bodies all around us all the time and ignore that instinctual feeling
So incredibly heartbreaking that any person can think this way, much less act this way toward anyone! Especially a person that they have been friends with for so long. 😢
The same here,of all his stories, this one disturbed me the most,I wrote. I have grandchildren and the fear is unbelievable after hearing this. Evil is a Noun!
How deranged do you have to be to look at your friend that you've known for almost your entire life and be like "I dont like this person anymore. Let's kill her instead of just...not being friends". These girls have SERIOUS issues.
Welcome to what it is like in the 2023 dating world for a man. There were women who made up allegations just like to "get rid of him" and I faced serious time. Luckily, their story came apart within 15 minutes of court. Moral of the story? In 2023, don't trust any woman if you love your life.
The fact that these demonic monsters killed an innocent person just because they “didn’t like her anymore” is absolutely vile, disgusting, and is infuriating to no end
According to the comments section, It turns out that the two murderers were involved in a lesbian relationship and skyler threatened to "out" them, so they murdered her.
@@parecearabeas an LGBTQ+ person, being outed is absolutely terrible and can leave you homeless, murdered, thrown out of a community, ECT. But regardless, murdering someone who wants to out you is way too far. The possibility of being shamed and hurt by others is in no way compared to personally murdering someone you called a friend and lying to their parents. That's a whole level of fucked up
The fact that they would have gotten away with it if the little girl didn’t crack is wild. At some point they should have been questioned harshly since they was the last ones to see her
How my heart goes out to Skylar and her family. As for these monsters, especially the evil one, since Skylar will never have the chance to live her life, neither one of them should ever get out of prison.
There's a dozen or so people just waiting on them to get parole. As I commented above, parole is the equivalent to a death sentence for both of them. Brutally murdering someone's loved one/family member isn't easily forgotten and 10 years isn't long enough to lose the desire for revenge of something like that.
I pray that the judge in this case is hit by a bus
Don't forget pretty & white. Ticked all 4 boxes for the judge, surprised they didn't just get probation
Just kill them, don’t waste money on their lives
It's punishment for one murder. So there's a chance that they might not do it again, maybe they'll realise their mistakes after being in prison for a couple of year. That's their thinking. Plus they were minors when they did it. So 30 years to life seems pretty decent.
The fact that they had a kill kit ready in the trunk should've been enough to ensure 0 eligibility for parole. They knew exactly what they were doing.
Yep that makes it pre - meditated
Nothing short of Capital Punishment was fitting.
Still, young and dumb people. People deserve a second chance. All you people who want these ridiculously long sentences are hypocrites. This should be 7 years in prison, no longer. And longer is pure wicked.

I remember this. Her father wept in court so bad during the sentencing. Losing your child is horrible, and losing it to this act of violence is even worse.
The other two sets of parents must be feeling rotten, too. They had a normal child, or so they thought, and now they have a child who is a murderer.

It's one thing when you're the center of attention as a troll for a few hundred people, but not when it's tens of thousands of people putting you down. Nobody can withstand that forever. Once these crimes have been exposed in the jail they end up going to, they'll be killed by their inmates once they reach adult-jail. I'm sure they're being held in juvy until they're old enough. They aren't big/buff. Once they get out of babyland juvy they'll be dealt with by inmates.

What's even more damning about this is the fact that Sheila actually came to "comfort" Skylar's parents. Skylar's mom even let her in Skylar's room where they both cried, not knowing that she is hugging and crying with her daughter's killer. 💔 Those girls are truely sociopaths and they should never ever be released from prison. I've watched their story on 20/20 years ago and it really made me more vigilant of people around me. RIP Skylar. 🕊

That's such an easy thing to determine and as soon as her mother was told that they "dropped her off around midnight" I immediately suspected that was a lie. Exactly, the police should’ve been smart enough to realize that it’s Sheila’s car.

This channel is so addictive. The way you gradually tell the story and leave the full truth til the end in some vids is so good and gripping.
This story had me making a mental note to myself to always ask the hostess of the tea party just where the water for the “tea” came from, going forward!
Omg yes 😂
I’m sure that would throw off someone trying to drug you so much they would have no choice but to immediately admit malicious intent
Exactly why I say "I'd rather be alone, than in the company of people who make me feel alone"
Exactly! I wonder if these girls especially the smirky one was into the occult cuz normal happy teen girls don't do this kinda weird stuff!
They’ll get what’s coming to them! In this life or another.
@@maryt9663 Sheila perhaps... we can never know the mind of God. Rachel genuinely seemed remorseful.
@@asphaltspreader I have absolutely no sympathy for either of these creeps! Let’s remember the real victim (s) here. I hope they both enjoy their living and forever hell!
@@metal_fusion I do not know... been a while since I saw the Dateline NBC video (its here on UA-cam). I think that says where they are held. Also searching online for Skylar Neese Wiki may reveal as well.
I love how this started with the tea party story 💜 I hope the family's happiest memories of Skylar are bringing them some comfort 🙏✨️
These evil girls should never be released from prison they've killed once and may do so again they took a life and therefore should spend the rest of theirs behind bars
In a couple of years Sheila will show up in some talk-show and say "Yea, I totally killed her. Buy my book!"
Based on that knowledge anybody who kills should be behind bars? So what your telling me is for example, you'll let a man kill you? Wow ignorant =/
I'd want them to be released if that happened to my girl. That way they wouldn't have the protection of being in jail
@@grimreefer42083 Absolutely!!!!
I agree. They should never see the light of day again.
Don’t burn yourself out! I’d rather have a story once a week than none. Gotta balance your family, yourself, and your creativity/work. Bailey Sarian takes one month a year off and one week a month for her mental health constantly researching such dark stuff. You deserve that time too! ❤️
Would love to see her and him do a video collab together!!? We should start a petition!

tbh, the only way he was going to get his channel to sky rocket was to post multiple times a week, but now hes got every one hooked once or twice a month is fine
He hasn’t uploaded in two weeks fym
Wish I could take an entire month of work. Actually I wish I could have 2 full days in a row of work, that'd be so cool. One day, dreams are free.
Agreed 💯
I can't imagine what the father was feeling hearing about how his little girl suffered and died needlessly and so cruelly. I have one daughter myself. She's 23 years old. She's a daddy's girl and my pride and joy. I don't think I could be as brave and strong as Skylar's father. I would have a mental breakdown
yeah
Sadly, he has had many break downs, tried to commit suicide himself, it's hard to deal with the tragic death of his little girl.

Show her this video when she's 12 or 13.
Heavy drugs:
Take her to a detox clinic and let her hear the "smart" junky speak how he got there.
Suicide thoughts:
Tell her that the moment you take your life we get to see our lifes grafic/ pulse where you can see there were to come greater heights of happiness than ever before but you cant come back.
Good luck in life
Bad parenting…. The next generation are monsters… obviously some worse than others…God have mercy on Skylar’s parents… what they must be going through
I have 2 teenage daughters, 15 and 16.
My daughter is almost 14. Ive shared this case w her. Because it scares tf outta me
You've been severely missed sir!

3:40 I love how despite the dad knowing he drank toilet water that’s still one of his fondest memories. What a good dad.
😂 I just came here to post about that before the story takes a hard turn
thats an old joke and not true, many comedians have told it over the years.
That's an old story been going around for years. No idea why they decided to co-opt it for this.
Most toilet water is just as clean as faucet water. That is if it's been flushed and the bowl cleaned lol
Holy crap ! Horrible I’m so sorry to hear that . Those aren’t friends those are bullies 😒

Next time your teenage kid is upset about being unfriended on social media, show them this.
holy shit. i had to do a double take when you said they started stabbing her. what absolute psychopaths. people think teenage bullying is juvenile and insignificant, but stories like this show how far it can escalate. the scariest part is how unexpected it can be for those surrounding the victim -- it feels embarrassing to say your friends are treating you poorly, so you go around acting like everything is normal. so heartbreaking
Reminds me of the slenderman stabbing out here by me in Wisconsin. Human beings are insane.
@@jimm7346 I was just about to mention that case.
The world really is an evil place. Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.

BUT...
The Slenderman stabbings didn't have the MO for "We don't like this bitch... LET'S KILL HER."
At least the Slenderman Stabbing was based on a delusion.

Glad you're back Mr.B!
I laughed so hard at this comment 😂
I agree. I really was starting to get concerned.
You haven't really dropped someone at home when you haven't seen them enter the house tbh
@@CR-wk2re fr I don't normally get dropped off at this point but in high school I would a lot and people would just drive off 😂 so I would get angry they didn't wait for me to go inside
@@pixpusha yes precisely! My biggest thing is what if somebody forgets their house key or in the situation you listed their car doesn't start? It'd be nice to have someone who knows you ready to help sitting there as opposed to being alone

Beautiful girl in the prime of her life, my sincerest condolences to her parents!!!

The real psycho is Sheila who had the friend pay allegiance to her. So that Sheilia could fulfill her psychotic dream

They should get a rope necklace. Rope is cheap and reusable.

He left out the real motivation of the video. The killers were gay and thought Skylar had figured it out and would tell their families.
Yeah. Just _ignore_ her. She'll wander off eventually and find new friends. Better ones too, so why _murder_ her?!
