Great video Britt. Pro tip for online dating, ALWAYS do a coffee date for a 1st meet up. You’re not locked in a 2 hour lunch or dinner and can always get away fast if needed. Second pro tip: if you are an older retired man with nothing to look forward to and life seems mundane, take a trip to the Philippines. Almost everyone speaks English, most women are beautiful and in shape, and your money goes WAY further ( $1 = 57 Philippines Pesos more or less). Also, there are a ton of young and mid age women that loves older foreign men. Why be depressed and bored here in the US when you can have an incredible life where your money goes 3-4 times further in a country that respects older people and that is filled with beautiful women. Great channel Britt, keep doing your thing.

Another great video. Very honest. You made me laugh with the memories of growing up as I did most of the same things. I did raise an eyebrow when you mentioned Albany Ga. I so rarely run across people from that little town. I was there for 3 years in the 70s as a little kid, 3 years again in the 80s (st Teresa school for elementary school), and then 4 years through 1992 (riverview for high school). Reason for that was I was a military kid so a lot of Albany for me growing up. Maybe we crossed paths. Maybe not. Either way, I am enjoying your content. Keep it up man.
Thanks for sharing your story. I, like you, love the hair bands that’s one of the things I would miss the most about the US is that I wouldn’t be able to go see the bands that I like. I’m sure they make a stop in Manila once in a while, but probably rare.
❤❤❤That nice decision you can progress yourself here, you do many jobs here you can vlog, you can rest saturday and sunday here for yourself and you can have job in you house as long as you want because more job in the philippines is online.
Thank you Britt. Personally, I'm looking forward to being an economic refugee. As for your cat fishing experience, I went into the pub to meet a "young lady" (57 years old) and I couldn't find her. So I tucked behind a post, called her number and THE ham-beast picked up her phone, and barked, "Where are you?" I replied, "Who are you?" In 14 years I have had 5 coffee dates and it is ALL about money, money, money. Last one was a few months ago when I foolishly tried again; nice lady, good chat, 62 years old and doesn't want to settle down with one man. With a invalid son at home, taking care of her mother and a full-time job I just asked her, "You have no time for a man, what are you doing meeting us?" She replied that she liked going out. Translation she used men for entertainment. Welcome to America. Run boys, run.
Good stuff as always, Britt. Dating apps in America are a non-starter. I'm matched with women older than me, someone I wouldn't be attracted to, or someone looking to "add" a person to their existing relationship...heck no. I am finding though that when I put in the effort in person to connect with women I would be interested in, sometimes there is a spark and that keeps the hope alive that my best relationship years aren't behind me. 🙂
Appreciate the time you took to share your story, Britt. Have you travelled more of the Phillipines than your immediate "bubble"? Y'know, day trips from the Cebu area? I chose Tagaytay to settle at first due to the weather.
I have traveled a little. Been to Bogo, Bantayan Island, Camotes Island, Toledo, Ormoc, Carcar, Naga, Bohol, Moalboal, Oslob, Dumaguete, Valencia, and Dauin. Loved them all.
@ I had BMX dirt bikes and BMX freestyle bikes back in the 70’s and 80’s. In the 80’s I had launch ramps for skateboarding. I was much better at skating lol
Sounds like me now. Divorced, mom just passed and I dint have the nest egg u do but I'm looking at renting out my mom's place and mine and will gave about 1300 after expenses a month. Should be doing a month long trip later this year to see how it is
Britt from the heart! Transparency is a warm ocean breeze. Ending third marriage in divorce - one from church, one from Russia, one I thought was forever. Heartbroken and dissillusioned at retirement age with few close friends living in an over 55 gated community. Wife and I improved our property to create the home we both always dreamed of and I love it but now with a looming divorce it is void of love. I can identify with the life events that led you to the Phillipines. I am making plans to visit the Phillipines and perhaps join many like you that have so very much more life to live. It is a bright hope that energizes me!
Slight pivot here, you mentioned BMX. As an adult have you tried mountain biking? I hear there's an awesome mountain biking culture in the Philippines.
@BrittMcalister mountain biking has been my midlife crisis, I'll be 54 this year. My wife lives in Metro Manila and I've found gravel biking and mountain biking in the Philippines. Lots of groups to ride with at all levels. Start with gravel and build up the strength and stamina for mountain biking.
@subcool7683 This what I found: What is the air quality in Cebu City Philippines? The air quality is ideal for most individuals; enjoy your normal outdoor activities. The air quality is generally acceptable for most individuals. However, sensitive groups may experience minor to moderate symptoms from long-term exposure.
Britt, I can relate to your journey. I'm 75, in pretty good health, retired, and I'm considering moving to the Philippines to afford a better lifestyle. There has to be more to life! I've had an LDR with a 30 yr old Philipina gf for 7 months. I have many questions. Could we talk sometime?
" I've had an LDR with a 30 yr old Philipina gf for 7 months. " You are going to get suckered SO hard. You aren't in a relationship, you are the victim of honeypot scammers.
Nice to hear the backstory Britt. I can relate to several things you mentioned. I think you made the right decision to live in the Philippines 🇵🇭 I’ll be there early retirement in 2025. Im sure if you slow date in PH you’ll find a great true loving woman. Don’t go too young though, someone with some life wisdom & independence behind them. Take your time & enjoy yourself ✌🏻
Hey Britt, I think your doing a great job with the channel and it always is helpful when somebody (especially men) is willing to open up about personal experiences of "modern divorce" in America, as it is very different here as are the new "woke culture" women that seem to proliferate out Western culture. Divorce in that culture is something we both have experience in. God love the wonderful Christian country women still here, but sadly most are accounted for, and/or only looking for someone of a similar faith and spirituality, which I support 100%! However, as a "non-Christian" but person of strong spiritual belief and ethos, if I ever wished to "date" again and have a meaningful relationship it would most likely have to be a women from Eastern Europe or Asia, as one can still find more traditional people there than in the West. I'm not keen on the "online" methods as I'm rather traditional and simple in life style (I still don't have or ever want to carry around and be attached to some stupid "cell phone.") I find a laptop computer is more than enough to get by in the modern age, and much easier to just close the lid on and walk away until needed for a research, record keeping, email or a phone/video chat when absolutely necessary. The Philippines (rural) is very much on my radar for a place to settle down for the part of each year and parts of Eastern Europe. What I liked most about your video is speaking to the Western attachment to material possessions and MONEY which is a bottomless pit that will never lead to happiness at all...because that king of "happy life" is all an illusion. Being a "maker" by family tradition and my general nature, from the clothing I make and/or tailor, to archtiecture and most other things. As such, I find a "simple life" of making to be more rewarding than being attached to "buying things." Again, Southeast Asia and Eastern Europe to be more appreciative of such things, which speaks to the "ticket story" and the "nice young Lady" who clearly had very confused priorities in life and not very good economic sense either...LOL...as a "week cruse" all included for seven days is going to beat a concert ticket of the same price ever time from my logical and pragmatic perspective. Music is something I love and most of it is free for the listening which is what you do with music...LOL...Thanks again for a great video!!!

I have a great life here in the US. Have a wonderful wife, just celebrated 15 years, 3 healthy kids, a good income and a home and saving for retirement. But I definitely see the appeal of moving to PH especially if you're single looking for love or living on a fixed income or can work remote. The one thing that sucks here in the US is I'd like to retire early but to retire comfortably in the US, you pretty much have to add another 10 years to your working career :(
I’ve done only about average may be a little bit above average in my life of work but about 13 years ago, I started my own business and I’ve killed it for the last 13 years so I figure about another year and I’ll be ready to make my move to cebu also
I think most men our age in the US are experiencing the same/similar scenario. I actually consider any dating in the US waisting money that will go much further elsewhere once i retire later this year. You also hot on another great point more important than dating. We must improve our lifestyles and find happiness. Then see if we can find a woman that fits into our lifestyle. We tend to think just the opposite way. I think thats why i enjoy your videos. You have an optimism that favors happiness over self pitty. Anyway, hope to see more videos and i hope you can find a lady to share experiences.
Make a video in Nustar, El Corso and the famous restaurant Mott 32 Chinese restaurant. If one is based in Cebu one can have almost everything from beaches, restaurants, mountains etc not to mention the people are super nice. Only in Cebu where you can go to mountain view in 15 minutes from the city and 30 to 1 hr to the beach. And Cebu is a hub going to almost all nice beaches and mactan airport will fly you anywhere in the Philippines and the world. The cost living in Cebu is way cheaper than in Manila. I Love Cebu ❤
I didn't know you were from Albany Ga. I am a little older than you so we probably never met, but I went to Mock Rd Elementary, Radium Springs Jr High, and then got bussed to MLK Jr Junior High. back in the 1970s. If I would have stayed there, I would have gone to Dougherty High.
Thanks for sharing, I can definitely relate! It was not until I submitted to God’s will that the right purpose for my life and the right woman came along. I am now married to my beautiful Filipina wife and plan on retiring to the Philippines 🇵🇭 in approximately 7 years. It’s a beautiful and amazing place. Search for a woman who put’s God first in her life, and HE will do the rest. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” Proverbs 3:5 🙏🏻 Take care brother …
Britt, you need to do the massage video. I'll be in Cebu City in February. I want to know where to get a real massage. No happy ending. I can do that myself.😂lol!
A man of at least 50, who is American, is not respected anymore nor does anyone cares what happens to us. So many men lead quiet lives of desperation and eventually they realize if they want to have any happiness they must look outside the US. I live in Latin America and my life is so much better here than it ever was in the states.
Britt we totally can relate about the rat race! Glad you made the best decision in life Britf and praying youll find the love of your life there. God bless!
They said that ladies there are lazy, lavish styles. If she want concert then she must contribute because you're not yet married.. That's how dating going outdoors is at your first meeting, unless she shares her own and you regretted it so that's fine. For me, I won't allow and I'm ashame of driving ypur man you just met to bars or etc. Just a snacks, resto and that's all. That's a good lesson though sir, leave and start a new, good luck 👌🇵🇭🇪🇺

Yep young ladies in developing countries are cheaper than back in the US! If a guy is really wealthy they don’t care about spending more on young ladies. It’s unfair for us guys. We want cheap young ladies but IN our own countries, don’t want to leave our GREAT country but we will!

It is like living in a beautiful prison. I worked as a hotel manager in different countries before so i missed the city life. I am 54 years old and want to live the last lap of my life on earth in this country and around south east Asia but my country too as I will not sell anything i own as my company will pay for my retirement. I am in energy solar power plant installation, landfill treatment, high tech farming and soon we will be the biggest sheep farm in my country. We grow tomatoes, strawberry, mushrooms, lettuce in hydroponics house. I we have a 14 tons fodder plants that produces annimal feed for sheep, cattle and pigs. I love my country but it is boring.

Run boys, run.
dating is pretty awful in the West -- here in Canada I'm checking out, just gonna do my own thing.
Exactly
Good stuff as always, Britt. Dating apps in America are a non-starter. I'm matched with women older than me, someone I wouldn't be attracted to, or someone looking to "add" a person to their existing relationship...heck no. I am finding though that when I put in the effort in person to connect with women I would be interested in, sometimes there is a spark and that keeps the hope alive that my best relationship years aren't behind me. 🙂
Thanks so much. Appreciate the feedback.

@@MRBIGSLICK66 Thanks so much. Truly appreciate the feedback.

The one thing that sucks here in the US is I'd like to retire early but to retire comfortably in the US, you pretty much have to add another 10 years to your working career :(
That's true, if you can have a good life in another country where the cost of living is much less it would make retiring early much more feasible.
