Good vid Britt - as an American (assuming you are married to PHI wife): I would do the strategy: 1) always have iron-clad pre-nup re: the property/ownership/what happens if marriage fails - to ALWAYS protect your financials - and keep in mind: PHI does NOT LIKE TO GRANT DIVORCE - it is a true hell 2) Americans CANNOT own property in PHI - there is a legal strategy where you create a corp. and can own 40% 3) after you are in PHI 10 D@MNED YEARS you can become PHI citizen and I believe at that point can OWN property 4) do the buy a nice acre and BUILD your own place - search and search for that special place. Even in America you can become a citizen after 5 years - I think PHI law SUCKS and is very HOSTILE towards foreigners (I blame the chinese from china and other bleeps in PHI area/the lowest common denominator) few always ruin it for everyone else - PHI should have a separate law for decent countries, especially America ...give me a break. Lonnnggg story short - for Americans, real estate in PHI is a real hassle.
Sounds like me now. Divorced, mom just passed and I dint have the nest egg u do but I'm looking at renting out my mom's place and mine and will gave about 1300 after expenses a month. Should be doing a month long trip later this year to see how it is
Great vid as always Britt - BMX included - built a ground-up original DiamondBack polished chromoly (remember that term?), anodized blue rims, blue/silver spokes, blue tires, PhilWood original stainless hubs, RedLine ProLine Flight cranks, original blue Oakley grips that look like a Cobra (remember those?) - on and on - cost me a ton of lawn mower money but I loved every minute of it - hanging out w/ REAL pals - homemade ramps - getting AIR - also relate to the online dating he11 - same thing - took me by surprise - gal shows up - looks sort of like pictures - probably her sister - this gal was not attractive - went ahead and had the meal - $80 later it was c ya later - everything you stated I can relate to - I have ties to PHI - you are on the right path - you're a wise dude - and DATING is the time you kick the tires which I know you will - Britt is no one's fool - Britt you're a super nice dude - take your time - kick the tires - there is a special lady out there - I would recommend that you look for a Philippine lady who is college-educated, Christian, mature, wise that is not too far from your age - the young Philippine uneducated province girl is no bueno for a 40's plus college educated career American dude (and this is nothing against province ladies - they are beautiful sweet ladies) - one of the BEST ways to meet the quality ladies in PHI is by NETWORKING from your FRIENDS in PHI - everyone knows someone(s) - all the BEST BRITT! Keep up the great vids - this is one of your BEST YET.
Appreciate all the positive feedback. It's greatly appreciated. I also mowed grass to buy my first bike.
Delete or edit that money amount out of this video. You’re painting a target on yourself. Don’t wear expensive rings. You’ll make a lot of friends without talking about money. Lots of foreigners over there always sitting around sarisari stores having a cold beer, they love to talk and you’ll have no problem meeting them. As far as the women go, they are no different than anywhere else. They want your money. Just be careful and enjoy.
In real estate it’s location,location,location and in women’s it’s trouble,trouble,trouble 😅and in Brit’s world it’s Happy 😃 Happy 😅and more Happiness 😊
You search for happiness and now I hope you do...More fun in the Philippines....
This echos A LOT of what has happened to me. After my divorce I met a nice lady... seemed to be going well. Then the "little requests" hit. So I took her on a couple of trips one to Europe one to Mexico... So now she knows I have money, I live in a nice place, I have a great career... the thing is this gal (who I had become a bit attached to) wonders 'will you wife me up?' and 'will you share your wealth with me?' --- the sub text is "will you be my retirement plan?" I said no to her offer, and we had a big fight too. Dating as a mature gentleman in the US is basically finding the most low maintenance woman you can find. It's funny how many women will be nice and sweet as pie if you can make things happen for them (financially). At some point I definitely started considering dating Asian women (outside the US). I have dated Malaysian, Chinese, Vietnamese, Singaporean and Japanese. Love all the Asian women. So I concentrated on locations in Asia to scope out for retirement. I bypassed The Philippines because when I traveled to Manila for work it didn't stand out. Then I heard people say why not Cebu. Ok... so I went there. Very Interesting! and now I have a Filipina girlfriend who lives in Cebu. We will see but I know that to make things happen for my girlfriend the expense is like 10s of dollars not 1400 for tickets to a Country concert. Plus if I do decide to tie the knot... no divorce in The Philippines! win win!
Sounds promising, but please don't be misled by the pesos to dollars comparison. Not all, but many Asian women have the same game plan of financial security. Best wishes sir
So you would prefer to fly half way around the world to chase women half or one third your age that you should know full well want you for nothing more than your money?
Sorry I thought the whole time you were from Britain (UK)..

thank your lord and savior you DID NOT get divorced in New York!
Hey Britt, my name is Britt also. From the South also like you. I think I am maybe 5-10 years older than you but I believe we grew up in the same era in the USA and feel the same dissatisfactions with life here now. I enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.

Is there enough parking spaces for the visitors?
Britt I am a new subscriber to your channel. Marco Polo hotel used to be called Cebu Plaza hotel in the 80’s and 90’s. Thats the place where our wedding took place 38 years ago in June in the second floor called the Panay Room. Thanks for showing it to us. It brought back happy memories especially for me and my husband. Keep posting more videos and I’ll be watching.
You can still see the Chicago Symphony Orchestra for forty dollars and no fees.
What IDIOT would ever want to visit the MURDER CAPITOL of America? Chicago and Illinois are a left-wing broken-brain liberal NIGHTMARE.
I don't know why anyone would ever plan a dinner date with someone they have never met in person. Well I do know why, men are suckers. First dates should be short -- coffee or lunch dates where you need to get back to work. Also, talking for a long time before meeting. F that. If you're not comfortable by yourself for extended periods of time, you're not ready for a relationship, OR you need a relationship too badly and that desperation is appealing only to women who want to sucker you. Your grandparents were your role models? I'm so sorry. They are two generations removed from you. What did they have to offer you for your future life? Nothing. Sorry about your uncle. I wish my uncle would die already. He's in his 90s and he's always been an asshole. You seem to live too much in the past and not enough in the moment. Have you tried stoicism? Horrid musical taste. Hair bands are for teens. $700 for a concert ticket you're not interested in? I just paid $175 for a great seat to see the greatest songwriter of our generation. "Blow up argument." Life's too short for blow up arguments with women who want to use you to pay for over-priced concerts. Pickleball? Please. Man. Thanks for the reminder about why solo life is the best. The Philippines? Wow. I'm so sorry. How's the Mexican food? Yeah. If you're looking for happiness outside yourself, maybe therapy will help. Seriously. $7k-$10/MONTH????? Dude. I've lived a charmed life and it's never cost me that much. Even now at 60, my house is paid off, I can walk to a great beach on the California coast, and my monthly expenses are under $2.5k.
Thanks for sharing your story. I, like you, love the hair bands that’s one of the things I would miss the most about the US is that I wouldn’t be able to go see the bands that I like. I’m sure they make a stop in Manila once in a while, but probably rare.
Great video Britt. Pro tip for online dating, ALWAYS do a coffee date for a 1st meet up. You’re not locked in a 2 hour lunch or dinner and can always get away fast if needed. Second pro tip: if you are an older retired man with nothing to look forward to and life seems mundane, take a trip to the Philippines. Almost everyone speaks English, most women are beautiful and in shape, and your money goes WAY further ( $1 = 57 Philippines Pesos more or less). Also, there are a ton of young and mid age women that loves older foreign men. Why be depressed and bored here in the US when you can have an incredible life where your money goes 3-4 times further in a country that respects older people and that is filled with beautiful women. Great channel Britt, keep doing your thing.
America is essentially an economic zone. For so many it isnt a "great country". Yes some can immigrate here make money and send it home. But so many lack peace of mind and connection in US so is it really great?
Trying to figure out a way to make this happen for me!
Another great video. Very honest. You made me laugh with the memories of growing up as I did most of the same things. I did raise an eyebrow when you mentioned Albany Ga. I so rarely run across people from that little town. I was there for 3 years in the 70s as a little kid, 3 years again in the 80s (st Teresa school for elementary school), and then 4 years through 1992 (riverview for high school). Reason for that was I was a military kid so a lot of Albany for me growing up. Maybe we crossed paths. Maybe not. Either way, I am enjoying your content. Keep it up man.
@@rickmc73 Thanks so much. Appreciate the feedback.
I have a great life here in the US. Have a wonderful wife, just celebrated 15 years, 3 healthy kids, a good income and a home and saving for retirement. But I definitely see the appeal of moving to PH especially if you're single looking for love or living on a fixed income or can work remote. The one thing that sucks here in the US is I'd like to retire early but to retire comfortably in the US, you pretty much have to add another 10 years to your working career :(
That's true, if you can have a good life in another country where the cost of living is much less it would make retiring early much more feasible.

Britt, I totally enjoyed listening to your life story and what brought you to finally deciding to move out of the US and starting your new life in the Philippines. There are many of us who are in the same situation, retired, single, financially secured and tired of the rat race we face every day. It is great to hear that your have finally found your special place in the world and I wish you continued happiness and peace. I have traveled to many countries in Southeast Asia, having recently returned from Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. I have yet to visit the Philippines. After watching several of your videos, I may have to add the Philippines to my next travel itinerary. Take care, stay safe and I hope to meet you in person one day over coffee and share travel stories. Keep creating great content videos about your life in the Philippines. Best to you, my friend.
If you are financially secure, why are you still facing a rat race every day?

Bret you have decided to live the rest of your days there? So you will have to marry a filipina soon otherwise you might be back to the loneliness again. Before I watched your video today, I was watching Rich in the Philippines. An American vlogger living in Davao. He is much older than you married to a Filipina and he is living the dream too, funny guy and full of happiness. I like positive people like you, that knows what you want to get to be happy. All the best me too by god bless if my financial planning goes well i will move there, but my problem is different. Furst I am coming there to St. Luc hospital for a major surgery a hip replacement. i live in Seychelles but it is boring and expensive. We have same climate here, same kind of mentality, hospitable people, food, speaks English, beautiful islands beach, no weather or natural disasters but here were i live is dead, nothing after six pm, but dam expensive. It is like living in a beautiful prison. I worked as a hotel manager in different countries before so i missed the city life. I been to many countries around the world, different continent but I love the Philippines. I am 54 years old and want to live the last lap of my life on earth in this country and around south east Asia but my country too as I will not sell anything i own as my company will pay for my retirement. I am in energy solar power plant installation, landfill treatment, high tech farming and soon we will be the biggest sheep farm in my country. We grow tomatoes, strawberry, mushrooms, lettuce in hydroponics house. I we have a 14 tons fodder plants that produces annimal feed for sheep, cattle and pigs. I love my country but it is boring.
@charlesetienne6037 Best decision I ever made was moving here. You're allowed 3 years on a regular passport. Leave for 24 hours and the 3 years starts over.

@kevinacker9843 I don't have to work. That's my big thing. Either stay in America and continue to work long hours or move here to start living life. Pretty easy choice to me.
It's absolutely amazing listening to you Britt, you sound just like me. I recently saw an interview with you on another website and I was laughing my ass off saying he sounds just like me. I am a 67-year-old retired HVAC technician living in the Metro Atlanta area. After determining I can't live here on $1700.00 a month, I decided months ago to move to the Philippines. I'm on a 6-to-7-month mission to move to Cebu City somewhere in the IT Park or Business Park area and I see I really have my work cut out for me. I will be selling off everything I own and taking care of some medical issues I have and I will be applying for a SRRV soon. Please keep the good videos coming, they're very helpful. I know that with as many followers as you have, talking to you in person is probably not possible. It appears many Americans are starting to look toward the Philippines to get out of this hell.

I didn't know you were from Albany Ga. I am a little older than you so we probably never met, but I went to Mock Rd Elementary, Radium Springs Jr High, and then got bussed to MLK Jr Junior High. back in the 1970s. If I would have stayed there, I would have gone to Dougherty High.
@JohnKolczynski I started at LakePark, then Albany Middle, then Westover. Did live in Radium Springs for a short while.
Make a video in Nustar, El Corso and the famous restaurant Mott 32 Chinese restaurant. If one is based in Cebu one can have almost everything from beaches, restaurants, mountains etc not to mention the people are super nice. Only in Cebu where you can go to mountain view in 15 minutes from the city and 30 to 1 hr to the beach. And Cebu is a hub going to almost all nice beaches and mactan airport will fly you anywhere in the Philippines and the world. The cost living in Cebu is way cheaper than in Manila. I Love Cebu ❤

I think most men our age in the US are experiencing the same/similar scenario. I actually consider any dating in the US waisting money that will go much further elsewhere once i retire later this year. You also hot on another great point more important than dating. We must improve our lifestyles and find happiness. Then see if we can find a woman that fits into our lifestyle. We tend to think just the opposite way. I think thats why i enjoy your videos.
