Who is walking away with the The Ashes urn this winter? Let us know in the comments! 🏏
I feel, Australia has better chance. Their batters are better than England and on the home soil, their bowling look very decent. England can match Australia in bowling, but English batting is certainly weaker.
England
Why don’t you show it?
Maybe a drawn series.
@@WeloveFooty2939 on paper, Australia looks better as a batting unit than England. They will enjoy their home advantage as well. If England win the series, then they will have to perform beyond their capabilities. I wish to witness an exiting series. I don't know, what is the base of your prediction.
Gutted it's not on Sky. Say what you want about Sky but I think their coverage of cricket is worth the fee. Best sports coverage out there. Sky's Cricket team is first class.
What's it on? BTsport?
@@guyedwards6696 yep
Skys coverage is amazing but its cut alot of people out and caused lower viewing figures. I'm guessing 10s of thousands just stream it through VPN's though.
Its a pathetic sport.
@WPSIATWIN bt do every sport better than sky the only sport sky do better than bt is cricket bt sport ashes preview sucked
An absolute delight to watch and listen
Nasser + Atherton together make the best couple in terms of cricket commentary
"I'm joined by three men who know all about playing ashes in Australia...badly" @ 0:21 😂😂. Oof. Always love to hear and watch this podcast
Such a cheeky potshot and what a way to get everyone to relax. Perfect
What you always get to see with this bunch is not jusy great punditry but also a glimpse into their friendships. Love it! (11:07)
Isn’t it illegal or something to see Michael Atherton and Nasser Hussain on a thumbnail and not click on it?
Legendary broadcasters of our times.
Nasser Hussain not so much but Michael Atherton for sure is a legendary broadcaster and his voice is just so soothing and calm
@@anonymous.7244 I am from India and I listen to extremely poor and banal commentary on test matches by the likes of Agarkar, Gavaskar, LS & Dasgupta. Oh yes Nas is a broadcasting legend for me.
Sky sports broadcast is worth watching the humility, friendship and above all HONESTY all in there. The real sports lover want this type of match coverage, fan of Nasser, click on every vedio he is featuring. Fan of Old school coverage. ❤️
Great podcast - good mix of humility about their own experiences in Australia and insight into what it takes to win there. Nasser is right though - big first innings runs are more often than not the key to winning in Australia. England have focused on super speed bowlers but that is because they don’t have confidence their batsmen can score big runs. There is no evidence super fast bowlers will make the difference and I don’t think England ever thought it was the answer but it was all they had to say they were different from the last time they toured.
Been a fan since that iconic '05 series. Let the Ashes begin 😍🔥
Can't wait the Ashes to start. It's the only cricket series that I follow in great detail in the past 25 year's. Bring it on! 🙂❤️
As an Australian, have to disagree with us having little preparation. We've been playing first class and ODI cricket for a month. We're fine
Don't say that, we're not allowed to be favorites.
Why did they not talk about England’s openers being quite fragile ? Australia have a high quality bowling attack and just feel that England might always start off on the back foot if we keep losing early wickets like we always do ( especially when there is pressure)
Ur totally right
Sadly England’s bating line up is fragile - except for Root. Even Stokes is an unknown quantity given he hasn’t played cricket for 6 months. We just have to hope someone gets some form and that Root holds onto his. I was going to say it could be a long hard series but my fear is that it will not be anywhere near as long as advertised.
B'wz entire English batting line-up barring Stokes is susceptible in Australian conditions and even Stokes is returning after a long gap. Don't think Root has a 💯 in Australia yet.
Probably because it's so obvious it doesn't need mentioning to be fair
Rory Burns scored century in Ashes 2019...he is a handy batsman
As simple as that I see Nass and Athers and I click on the video
32:50 is the reason why I watched this show.
Always delight to hear these experts. They talk on realistic basis.
Best and most unbiased analysts in world cricket that’s Nass and Athers. Rest of the world should learn from them they are through professionals and proper gentlemen. We need more like these two legends best ever. Best of luck to both teams but been living in Perth for last 7 years my heart goes for aussies even we won’t see the game here in optus🥲.
Was waiting for this podcast for last 2 weeks and it's finally out
Noo baby Australia win the series 😂😂😂
Really enjoyed this discussion. Good luck England. See you at the MCG!
what a opening words by ian ward he is such quality commentator of modern time
These vodcasts were the only good thing during early Covid days
We always lose early wickets and this Australian attack with the new ball will be a big problem for the guys at the top of the order, Joe Root has been amazing but we need a Alistair Cook type of player to just stay in there and get a start, Damm I miss sir Alistair Cook.
A good performance in the first test will be good for confidence.
Good work chaps love these debate's.
👏🏏🏴
Ian Ward's legendary lines "They have the experience of playing Ashes in Australia, Badly". I lost it
Can't wait for Peter Jackson's documentary on these four, charting their difficult sessions making their classic album
That gave me a good laugh mate. Very smart comment 😀
Could be called “Get Back (On the boundary)” or “Let it Go”.
40 minutes and Josh Hazlewood not mentioned once. He's the top wicket taker and player of the series for me. He's coming for Root.
Patty Cummins to those plumb lbws on backfoot
Perfect prediction in hindsight
Waiting these legends whole days❤️❤️let's starts
absolutely agree with rob , the captain of nation shouldn't be a person who has done horrendous things but he cannot be an angel either who has done nothing wrong , we all (including the captain) are humans at the end of it.
despite the turmoil in oz cricket they are still favourite to win this 2021/22 ashes
nasser hussain saying that the outfield going to be wet in Brisbane remember the drainage system in Brisbane is fantastic so because of the great drainage system the water souks then the outfield will be quick
The danger man is Hazelwood, forget Starc, Cummins etc
Archer is such a loss for us in this series. You need a really fast bowler in Australia and he offers that. He’s something different to the majority of our bowling attack. Hopefully Wood can step up and show us the quality that he undoubtedly has.
Wood Robinson and broad should be the bowling trio for first test along with leach and stokes
Burns
Malan
Root
Bairstow
Stokes
Buttler
Pope
Leach
Broad
Robinson
Wood
@Mr Kipling Wood is certainly quick and pace is a valuable asset, but I don't know if he takes many wickets.
Parkinson and Mahmood should've been debuted in the summer, would've been perfect for Australian conditions
Gutted won’t be able to hear Nasser and Athers on coms 😢both brilliant pundits
My ENG XI:
Burns Hameed Malan Root Stokes Bairstow Buttler Woakes Anderson Wood Leach
The series is over but these words are so telling. When you read the history, you must remember that what is now in the past, was once in the future. Atherton and Nass are deeply respected down under. We Aussies were proud to fight for you. We’re equally proud to play against you.
Live right next to lilac hill, love festival cricket
Chris Woakes not being categorised as an all-rounder is a crime ...
He is categorized as an all-rounder ...
Unfortunately his records outside England not much impressive.
Joined by three men who played ashes in Australia badly such a sweet sense of humour by ianward
No preparation, no Archer, no chance. If it's not 4-0 it'll be 5-0
Robert Key, thats a name I haven't heard for a while. He actually makes a bit of sense.
When did Bubbles from the Trailer Park boys play for England?
Nailed it on not going for a plan of rotation play your best team for the conditions. First test green top, overcast, drops jimmy and broad, pick Leach who gets tonked! 🤨
As an Australian fan I think during Cummins Bowling spells Steve Smith will do a lot of captaincy work to allow Cummins to rest, especially since they’ve released statements about how it’s gonna be different to other captaincy’s.
Steve Smith will set the field for sure in this test series but after some time pat Cummins will not feel good about this thing so he might step down as test captain if he can't handle or he will become real captain
Do we still need to do zoom ? I understand Athers is in aus but the rest? Great content hard to listen to/ watch
Australia will be absolutely fino. Cummins will no doubt be an unremarkable captain but he doesn’t have to be with the arsenal at his disposal. Only Anderson, Root and Stokes would feature in a combined 11. Only the weather will stop them whipping us 5-0 and I suspect we won’t make 400 in any of the tests.
kind of agree, except I would take Buttler over the Aussie keeper.
Also I'm not sure the Aussie batting lineup is all that tasty. Smith and Labashagne are top players. The others I don't see much difference in quality. However being at home the Aussies will bat better.
I'd like to mention before, inevitably, someone else does that India are the best team and Kohli is the greatest batsman. Oh, and by the way, sadly, Australia will beat us 5-0 unless it keeps raining for the next couple of months. I don't mind being proved wrong on that though.
It’s the first time I’ve ever thought it might be 5-0. It would be a big shock if the series is close imo. Hopefully I’m wrong, if Smith and Labuschagne don’t fire and we take out catches we could pressurise them. Just don’t know who will help Root and maybe Stokes get enough runs.
@@Yorksbloke definitely not 5-0 because of rain or flat pitch but i think it will be 3-1 in australia favour because of root form and robinson
Sadly can't see any other result than 4-0 minimum
Unfortunately 5-0 is incoming. Very soon.
Excellence in banter.
Not only for Brits , batting well in Australia and winning is critical for asian countries as well. But we did it in last 2 tours. We put the full stop to australian dominance on their own land.
keysey is a legend!
Can't wait for the ashes 🔥🔥.
Such a shame The Ashes isn’t on Sky Sports
Really good preview as usual 😀👍🏻
good luck england.. we want to see brave cricket. dont bothers about loosing game..
1. warner - blows around wicket just outside of stump.
2.smith if its less than 10 runs blows out side of stump and odd ball middle of stump and keep fielder in leg slip. if he more than 20 runs put fielder short mid wicket and. blows some slow off cutter may be i would prefer stokes to put many ball to him
3.Head blowers has to attack stump middle and off. odd bouncer outside off stump and keep fielder in third man (not in boundary line ).
5. cut off boundaries .
Labuschagne needs a plan too, very dangerous
I’m going for 2-2. England have improved since 2019 in my opinion whereas Australia have gone backwards.
Aus will butcher Eng . 4-0 is my prediction. They've been losing tests at home, I don't think they can beat Aus in Aus with this sorta batting.
@@pulseofages aus also lost matches at home
@@pulseofages To NZ and Ind, the only two sides better than England.
@@RBenjo21 NZ beat AUS ? When?
@@RBenjo21 England are an average team. At home, in 2020, they nearly lost to an average Pak and did lose a test to a terrible WI. In the 2019 ashes, they were very lucky not to lose that series 3-1. They regularly lose around 2 tests every home season. Aus will win this ashes 5-0 (barring rain) and any other prediction is pure delusion.
I wonder how much the lack of the Barmy army will affect England?? I still presume that fans can’t travel from England?? The players have said many times that the Barmy army give them a lift when things are a bit flat on the field.
Both sides are evenly matched in my opinion. Average in the batting department, very good in the bowling department. We’re in for a cracking series!
I disagree , Australia in my opinion are far superior in the batting line up , David Warner has found his confidence and in Australian conditions is world class in Test cricket , Marnus Labuschagne is the best no.3 in World Cricket , Steven Smith average wise is the best since Bradman ..Cameron Green is one of the hottest prospects in the game , thats a very powerful batting line up , Cummins and Starc are no mugs either. England only have one batsman who averages above 45 career wise that's Joe Root , who doesn't have a great record in Australia .. Australia have 2 who average 60+ and Warner averages over 45 , that's a big difference .
Lol what, Aus are WAY better than England
Yeah mate you obviously have no idea if you think they are evenly matched Australia are a lot better
I think these cooler humid conditions here in QLD will suit Englands bowlers....
Overton good with the bat has height will get more bounce
Wood also
with Robertson
anderson too
Thought Arthers did really well to stay awake 😳
Watching this after the series has been completed is really interesting.
Two defeated team will fight for ASHES✌️
Back To Back Series win In Australia by India...Just proves what an achievement it was
It was huge. I consider these two series win equal to any major trophy win or even higher than some of them
@@JunaidKhan-pd1sp completelyagree..It was bigger than any world cup victory considering how few teams win series in AUS or INDIA so any wins there is a major achievement
No matter what ..mark wood must play ..one player with good pace is needed
They should go with
Bowling should be
Anderson
Robinson
Mark wood
Chris woaks
Jack leech
Top notch...... Excellent👍👍👍
you need atleast 3 140 plus , accurate bowlers in your playing 11, to bowl to a plan. 1 good spinner, which is not leach. one sure keeper who is in the side to keep primarily, meaning the best keeper not keeper who can bat, and to take calls on drs. atleast 5 good and dependable batsmen, you have 2 in Root and Stokes. assortment of Sibley diibley dobbley isn't going to be enough. remember Cummins is the captain , so nobody is going to take the ball off him. to put it mildly as things stand, you are going to have a torrid time.
India-Australia test series is much more entertaining than Ashes.
I slightly disagree with the point that 300 runs in the 1st innings is not enough in Australia. India last year didn't have a single 400+ total but still won. The Australian batting except for Smith, Marnus & Warner doesn't strike fear in you so 300 totals could be enough.
England don't have fast bowlers to take Australian wickets in australia and i think only robinson will be lethal in australia so australia will easily score 400+ score and don't forget Australia score in first 2 test and in last two test india batted brilliantly on day 5
@@educationworld9699 The Indian bowlers came with a very detailed plan against the Australian batsmen. The Indian batsmen batted well on the last day at Sydney & Brisbane but I feel the Australian bowlers were tired particularly on that last day in Brisbane. It'll all be about how mentally tough England are because if there was a reason why India won that series it was because they were mentally strong and didn't lose the plot inspite of that 36 all out, the racism row & all the injuries.
@@ashishnair12 to win in australia you need to mentally strong but 36 all out helps a team lot if 36 wouldn't have happened and kohli left it with 1-0 lead i am pretty sure Australia would have won the series
India were capable of bowling Australia out for manageable totals, England won't
England must select Ollie Robinson for the Gabba. He has the stuff of seamers who've had success there.
Will the ashes go on I read somewhere it could be delayed
England must perform in the first test. They need to get it together with the bat.
Great video...I just wish Ebony Rainford-Kent was involved. Her amazing knowledge of the game allied to her lovely voice (reminiscent of the great Brian Johnston in many ways) make her the perfect cricket pundit!

5.ben Stokes
6.oli

8.woakes
9.robo
10.leach
11,anderson/ board
get wood in there for woakes i reckon
Yeah we need Wood in Aus
It'll be bairstow at 6 I feel
Wood for Robinson...but yes we have to bat down to 7 or 8 because we just dont have the bowlers for Aussie conditions
on drop-in pitches you have to hit the deck hard, England don't have bowls that can do that.. Plus our top order is weak, there are no runs in them.. you need to get over 450 in the 1st innings to win!
@skysports add sunny gavaskar/dk/harsha to have a neutral view of d procedings
Real shame Sky do not have the Ashes.
Best England XI for the GABBA Test
1. Rory Burns
2. Zak Crawley
3. Dawid Malan
4. Joe Root (C)
5. Ben Stokes
6. Johnny Bairstow
7. Jos Buttler (WK)
8. Ollie Robinson
9. Mark Wood
10. James Anderson
11. Jack Leach
Absolutely 💯
I would play like to add pope
Bairstow for Buttler. Pope in. I really don't know why Buttler seems to get away with his poor test form all the time. He did nothing against India, and Bairstow produced performances.
They’ll play hameed tho won’t they
Rory Burns will be a walking wicket for the Aussies
Overton... a All-rounder... 😅🤣🤣🤣
Woakes... just a bowler... 🤣🤣🤣
someone is getting fired.
Haha well spotted
Is Athers alright? He seems to have lost a lot of weight..
Australian bowling is not has the same venom what we have witnessed 20 years ago
I mean eng batsman can't even bat in England so not much venom is required really
Best show on Cricket
Warne did it wind Starc up. Expect a tough reply from Starc at the Gabba.
Australian cricketers won't change - their mantra is to win at all cost. Notwithstanding all the tears Steve Smith, Paine and the rest were more sorry that they were discovered with their pants down. Given the slimmest of chances they would seize the first opportunity to bend or break the rules to suit their interests.
Yep completely concur. Steve Waugh mould (albeit there was no actual scandal attached to his captaincy).
atherton and trescothick did the same with repercussions . australia has higher standards for their cricket team so they give higher penalties
I’m guessing you haven’t read Monty Panesar’s book where he revealed what the England cricket team would do to the ball over many years!
That's right champ. Whether its indoor cricket at the local sports centre on Monday night, or Grade 6 red ball cricket at the park on the weekend. We play cricket to win out here. I didn't know there was any other way.
Love from Nepal
It's England batting vs Aus bowling. If the Aussies get them, England may get blown away !!!!!!!
No need for stokes top 5.
6 stokes
7 buttler
8 woakes / overton
What a balance that gives us, top 5 as you like. Enough space for 2 strike bowlers and a spinner!
Englands selection process is abysmal
Panel discussion of the highest standards....!
Hey Hadlee won there. I mean New Zealand. Oh that was I. The 80’s also.
England would be very happy for Brisbane to be a washed out draw ...with both Adel and Melb to come where conditions should suit them
Felt Steve Smith shud have been the Aussie captain
I think he still feels guilty about sandpaper-gate....
Everyone moans when cricket is called off or disrupted in England and when its somewhere else no one bats an eye lid.
No way round it. We’re going to get hammered. Bowlers like Woakes, Anderson and Broad aren’t as effective in Australia, our best spinner doesn’t play Tests, and we only have only one reliable batter in Root against the best pace attack in the world (certainly in their conditions) although Stokes might have one of his superman days at some point. Probably in a losing cause.
Plus Smith and Labuschagne will fill their boots, even if the rest of their batting is iffy. Oh, and we have the equal (with Bangladesh) worst catching record of any of the top Test nations currently. And had virtually no practice. So we’ll be lucky to avoid a 5-0 unfortunately.
Theres this leg spinner who played in odi series against pak and did well in the hundred; he shud have been in the test squad. Leg spinner would do great.
Enjoy this show …
I think convnentional cricket won't win you a series, player like stokes and warner can make big impact the Smith and root, this both player can change game in just one session there impact on scoreboard is more.
Team that plays positive cricket will win.India showed how one needs to play against Australia in Australia. And England can study India's tactic as a visiting team to give Oz hard time
England should definitely play 2 spinners
England will miss the pace of Archer.
Nasir when will you change your sweatshirt...
Micheal Vaughan: England win ashes 5-0
Ricky Ponting: You current team is far more worst than your previous teams who came to Australia for Ashes.
Sunil Gavaskar: 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Australia is not impossible to beat in their home conditions and their batting is not that fantastic so eng can beat aus
Smith and Labuschagne not good enough for ya? 😉
