You have one hell of a wife . Who stands by your side through thick and thin. Glad you are happy. And you make the most awesome content and explanation to the full. Always give me great ideas and where to look for problems. Thank you for all you do.
It was fun riding with you and the wife in the flatdeck. Love the redline shifts and no shift shock to jerk you around. That flatdeck is a gold mine. Hang onto her. They don't make them like that anymore.
I'm a ford guy but a ford diesel guy ....we have a couple 6.2l ford f350 service trucks at work setup with utility bodies and the tools to work on heavy equipment field mechanic work and I have to say they run all day 6 days a week overloaded and they haven't missed a beat , both have over 100k on them now I think around 130k . I wouldn't want to put a trailer behind them but they do great for what they are doing now
Great video J.C.Smith nice looking truck . At least you figured out why it won't start. Looking forward to your next video stay safe Mr and Mrs J.C.Smith.
Finally back to some good old superduty videos! I pretty much found that any ford I buy that has sat for over 3 years or so around here with ethanol gas is gonna need a fuel pump. Keep up the good work!
You're a brave man washing out the engine bay. I have a 2012 never washed + dirty (yuck-o) waiting for something to brake. That's when it will get the 1st wash job. 👍
I'm the same way with vehicles buy them broke down for cheap and get them going. Right now my work truck is a 02 dakota. Not the most ideal for me but the price was right
Dear J.C. Smith projects couple. 👍👌👏 2) It's always very interesting to see how different brothers/siblings can be. 3) That's definitely the first time I wonder about something you did respectively didn't. So please kindly allow me to ask why you didn't try to hear if the fuel pump kicks in/runs? Usually these pumps can be heard. 4) Hope that Jeff is better already. As always: Thanks a lot for making teaching explaining recording editing uploading and sharing. Best regards, luck and especially health to all of you.
i was more focused on showing that anyone can diagnose a no start. these pumps are not always easy to hear as the chimes of the truck when the key is on are loud. jeff is resting now.
@@j.c.smithprojects Okay, I see. You wanted to show us all the possible problems. Thanks. 2) Even if you put your ear really near the filler opening? 3) Sleeping when ill is always good. 4) Thanks for replying and especially for giving a heart to my comment. Sincerely yours.
Yeah as soon as you checked for spark and impulse form the injectors and it fired off of Either. Pump wasn't coming on. No fuel in the lines is also a dead giveaway. But I wonder why the reader didn't catch it though. Because a reader will let you know right off if there's no impulse from the pump. Even on a old Ford Star System will let you know and code a pump failure.
the video wasnt about assuming. the point was to do a thorough diagnoses for someone who isnt a seasoned mechanic. hopefully to help someone who isnt as experienced as you.
I can safely yes I am a experienced mechanic. .And newer vehicle's are a pain. Something quits and the first thing to is to read it. Then go from there. True a ECM makes them run smoother and more efficient. But when something cuts out there you are. Simplest vehicle I have is my Aunt's 1964 Biscayne 4dr sedan. 230 in line six/ 2 speed powerglide. Runs really smooth and quiet. Good car.
we have been talking about t shirts, hoodies, mugs, hats and stickers. my daughter is looking at starting her own little business. i thought it would help to get her going.
@@j.c.smithprojects that would be great i live in Alabama the hardest thing to find down here is a zip up hoodie that is warm all of them are so thin its a waste of time to buy. have thought several times about getting one from one of the youtubers from the north thinking that they would be warmer but haven't glad i waited would love to be your first customer thanks
I'm not an expert...but I am assuming the lack of use varnished the fuel and gummed up the pump making it die. Or the lack of use to pump being left in an empty tank it rusted and died. Causing the no start way back when your brother just walked away totally...
See me personally, nothing wrong with ur method of course, but what I’d do is I’d stick my head by the pump have someone cycle it and see if u can hear it hum. But of course doing that wouldn’t make a video haha hoping it’s an easy one for ya. Trucks in good shape yet
if you owned one of these, you would like it im sure. both 5.4 versions were low power, problematic and got poor fuel economy.....this is the opposite of all that.
"I don't want this to be a major project "
Famous last words my friend. 😂😂
it felt wrong as it was coming out of my mouth.....
You should make a wheel lift adapter to slip on the forks of your Gradall or skid steer. Would make moving vehicles around your yard easier.
nah...just more things to maintain
Just wondering where you have accumulated all your skills automotive and carpentry very impressive thanks for the videos
grab tools, go to work make mistakes, learn what not to do while learning what to do.
I bought a F250 short bed extended cab because of your high praise. Best trucj ive ever owned.
i just love these trucks with the 6.2 and the 6r140 trans. absolutely fantastic working trucks. glad you like yours.

Best regards, luck and health in particular.
Thank you for helping out Brent and Ester
I love the 6.2 have one with 275k miles in a 13 f250 extend cab long bed never had a problem out of it
absolutely the best gas engine in a truck i have ever owned.
I really like the in depth troubleshooting of the electrical system

Awesome job with the diagnosis J.C 🙂👍 I'm glad you could get the truck back 🔧🔩

Nice looking truck to just have sitting in a yard for 5-6 years.
X2 on that!!

Hi JC thank you for sharing

I do it with every vehicle i have ever owned with no issues.
@@j.c.smithprojects only vehicle I’ve ever had an issue with after washing an engine off was a maxforce. Dash would light up like a Christmas tree.
Nice truck
Nice unit
Thanks for sharing
Always learning from your videos .hope your pup is getting better
Take care
Safe travels
he is resting now. he had many tests and procedures. after being there most of the night, they gave him some meds and sent us home.
Finally able to see a video when it posts. Was on vacation all last week
hope you had a good vacation.
@@j.c.smithprojects it wasn’t long enough… that’s for sure…. But yeah it was nice to get away for a week into the Smokey mountains
I'm surprised you don't just use the F-150 Nite for a runaround truck. Although it makes sense if you need the 3/4 ton's capacity.
i dont want to put all those miles on it.
Looking forward to seeing the next video.
Cany beat a ford f250 am sure you will sort its issues out u n the #1 detailer aw best jc

I haven't seen you swing a pick up around since the first video i watched of yours
darn soilnoid in passager kick panel
this truck doesnt use that emergency shut off system.
22:40 might want to clean that rusty terminal.
Man the death if machinery is just letting it sit. In my opinion there isnt much worse for them. So many weird issues pop up from them sitting.
nice wire check
Old fuel smell is about the worst!
This truck is very mint compared to what can be found in the Rust belt. I think she will run fine once all the kremlins are out.
What’s your super duty parts collection like today? I’m in NW ohio and I’m looking for some things.
im holding on to what i have.
i have watched your channel for a while I don't think you can do a MINOR project its not the way you are 2coats primer 2 coats paint
that will probably make it on a t shirt one day.....2 coats of primer.....2 coats of paint.

still wouldnt tell you if the pump had power....just that you cant hear it. with the ringing in my ears, i cant hear it even if it is running!
Fuel pump
so just curious hows the chicken coop an chickens?
all doing well. no issues at all. no predator intrusion.
It's a shame to see a truck that nice neglected and abused.
What went wrong you asked ? I can tell by the title …. Its a ford … it does not have an LS engine 😂😂
you have obviously never owned a 6.2 ford engine. i will take it over an ls any day.
