Thanks John! It was a great day, an eye-opener for me- and a great example of what's possible when someone is really passionate about the tackle they produce. It needn't be all about the Far East and bargain tat- independent, British-made quality right there!
Many thanks, glad you enjoyed it! It was almost reassuring to see that many floats and think "my collection is actually pretty modest, no matter what my wife says" 😂
Indeed! They are top notch- I could not believe the toughness of the materials, just different gravy to what we once used. Especially when I look back at my fishing life and the amount of trashed pole floats!
Alan, it's worth getting in touch with RWC or visiting the website. They make things like pellet wagglers and stick floats but can also make items to order- they do a lot of bespoke stuff.
@@domgarnettfishing Thank you. I used to make floats years ago. I still use the same stick float that I designed when fishing rivers. I’ve never found anything better to use. I went through every design on the market at the time but none of them really worked properly. I’m really surprised today that none of the manufactures have thought about what I use. I even got a patent for a fishing float. I was interested in your video because I know how hard you must have worked to reach where you are today. Well done. My life now days is writing. I’ve got several books published. I still go fishing though.
I love making my own kit- it's so rewarding to catch on your own stuff. But what I would say is you will never make floats of this quality in your garage! And they will make bespoke floats to your exact specifications if you want something nobody else is using.
Who bothers to make their own pole float, the material and the machining would be much more than buying them. Even the tightest anglers I've met in Yorkshire buy floats.
Nice one, Dom! 🎣🐟👍

Very good floats, good to see behind the scenes
Really enjoyed that. Great insight ❤
Great skill nice to see hard work pays
A great day, using great floats 👌

Have you thought about making floats in that real tree camouflage. In various shades and colours such as wintery camo for winter fishing.
Just watched a very scary documentary about micro plastics and this popped up, look great floats though 😆
Who is the major company they make floats for?
Do you only make pole floats?
