I sat on that very box and wiggled them , I’m a daiwa man of umpteen years and I bought the X75 . I’ve now got three Preston poles . Fished with the 75 and will fish with it tomorrow and it’s superb
Was tempted to get the X75 but went for the G90 pro, Only thing that swayed me was the reports of waiting times on spare sections should the worst happen for Preston poles. Got my G90 pro and the No4 was split of the 4th, was a manufacturer fault and I had the replacement within a week so was happy with Daiwa’s service
Just a few small things to note. The x75 comes with 9 topkits and a cupping kit ie 2 match, 2 f1, 2 short grey and 3 carp. if you get the diawa you only get 6 plus cupping ,unless you get the f1 package. i managed to get x75 on a black fiday deal with 15% off so it was 1699. So to me its a no brainer. I have fished with it and its strong enough for carp in my eyes. i was told many many years ago its the angler which breaks poles and not the fish and have found this to be true. Change how you handle a pole and find the one that suits you best :D
I asked my local tackle shop. All 7 of them said G90 Pro. Had Preston poles prior to purchasing a G90 pro. Glad I made that switch. Each to their own though.
I went for the G90 Pro and very happy with it. I fitted the genuine Daiwa PTFE nose cones to all the sections and it seems to stiffen the pole a little more. But add a short number 4 and use the dolly butt to compensate the length difference and it makes the pole amazingly stiff and superbly balanced.
@@britishbluetess It doesn't really need one, but adding the short 4 it just takes it up another notch or two in performance. If you put the G90 Pro next to an Airty Pro (as I did) you wont be able to justify the extra £1700 difference in price. And that's without the short number 4 added.
a carp will snap the preston before the diawa 100%. iv switched from preston x70 to g90 pro recently and the strength and durability in the carbon diawa use is miles better
G90 pro is definitely not a silverfish pole!! I’ve had carp to near 20lb on mine and always felt the rig would go before the pole. Kristen and Tom use theirs for commercial fishing and the packages are f1 and power not match!!
It’s a Ford v Vauxhall thing your one or the other, probably 50 guys in our club I would say 30 Daiwa, 15 Preston, matrix, Guru the rest. No Maver or Garbalino.
@Andyfishing23 yes, it will - no disagreement there. I had a choice between the two however and went for the Preston - £200 less, more tops as standard, cheaper top-kits (£65 is for a Preston, about £100 for a Daiwa pro kit).
Hardly a true comparison the preston is £400 cheaper 3 more top kits and a hardcase stiffer and lighter ..the original g90 was a expensive banana after 13mtr ;;;;;;but you could get spares
Why don't you compare like for like . ie air z pro V superium X95 . Next pole down in the range Airity V superium X75 and so on . G90 pro is way down the diawa range compared to superium X75. Price comparison isn't the judge in my opinion
ians tackle g75 1850 made in japan including import duties so a hell of alot cheaper in reality compared to the uk made diawa rather uncompetative in my opinon. its very clear who the winner is without being disrespectful to diawa british made ..

Love these comparisons , not everyone can get to a pole alley , your both doing a great job 👍

The thing with the Daiwa is spares are easy, and resale values are higher. I’d always stick with UK made Daiwa
Great informative video as always. Can you do a comparison on long rods please, looking to upgrade from map concept 18/20.👍🎣

Should it need a short 4 though?

Great manufacturers but Diawa for me all the way built better 👍🏻
Clumbersome is not a word but it definitely should be
I’m surprised more people don’t use Garbolino poles, they are very strong, but the lightest but are stiff. You rarely see them on the bank though
If the roach pole had never been invented,,we would still be bagging up on tip or the float,,😅
please can you test the Garbolino UK 2 against the superium x75. Greetings from Germany 🙏🙏

could you please try the daiwa whisker x against the x 75 preston pole
Would love to see a comparison between the guru n Guage pro vs Superium x55

its a carp pole

Could you compare the x15 to the x10 to see the improvement
Can we see yours two top value poles for club anglers around £650
can you put the preston x75 up against the Maver mvr 3?
Lets be absolutely honest here the preston x75 is a better pole the only thing people can say is diawa s spare availability is far better 👍
Thanks guys, I ask for this
Preston spares not as good as Daiwa
So the 16 metre diawa is a15.4 metre pole where as the Preston is 15.5metres.
It will be with number 1 section
Sorry with out the 1 section in nobody uses anymore
Were are loosing distance
On my air z pro it's printed on the 16 ?metre section total length 15.5 metres as supplied.
The Daiwa RRP is £200 more expensive than the preston.
Yes but Daiwa will sell for more. 100%
Eight spare top kits with the Preston (1 match, 2 short f1, 2 long f1 and 3 carp) as opposed to 6 or 7 with the daiwa depending on the package.

What I mean is that Daiwa holds its value very well mate
