PRIMUS - Tommy the Cat (Reaction)
Вставка

- We got a request to react to Tommy the Cat by Primus, and I will say the vocal delivery is very different, and the musicianship was not what I expected. Is that good or bad, you ask? Check this episode out to see and leave us a comment and let us know what you want us to react to in future episodes.

this band is about pure playing talent
Robert! hey man this Caz! I want to first thank you for watching and commenting! RJK and myself appreciate you! Yes! You are soooo right! The word talent is an understatement! Accomplished, skillful! Yes! The pronouns can grow!
when they needed a temporary replacement for their drummer, they got one of the best drummers ever, just happy to join in - the only way to see the best bassist and best drummer together is to watch primus in this era
Seen Primus live 4 times and not once disappointed. Primus opening for Tool, the bests show I have seen. Primus, the Police, and Tool have some collaboration between some of their members.
Wow! Interesting. I am a big Police fan and never would have made the connection with them along with Tool and Primus! Thanks for the info!
Stuart Copeland, Les Claypool, and Danny Carey
Oh wow. Y'all actually took up on my request 🤣. Wasn't expecting that. Thanks Y'all.
Okay I got another one for y'all. This one is another one of the eclectic type songs totally on the other end of the spectrum from Primus.
Frank Zappa - Inca Roads Live

You’re absolutely welcome! We definitely love hearing from all of you and we love listening to music and trying new things. We want to honor as many requests that have and are continuing to come in. As a matter of fact, I will be sure to add Frank Zappa to the list. May take longer for us to get to it, as the list is growing really fast, but I promise we will get there. I really appreciate all you guys, Thank you so much for watching the channel!

Cheers mate.
Take your time.
Just enjoy the ride 🎉
Imran! Hey! That track was KICKIN’!!! We enjoyed the hell out of it! Thanks so much! Please! Keep watching! Oh! BTW, I hope we pronounced your name correctly! See you on the Zappa track!

Yes, however you said it is how it's pronounced. Actually it's all good, whatever is easiest for y'all to say. Cheers.
Inca Roads is a MUST!
I’ve seen Primus a few times in the 90’s, great bass. Great vibes. Watching the reactions to Primus in their prime about makes my day. Never disappointing seeing how their raw talent and riffs make an impression. Only other times I’ve had a great live experience is when I used to see Fishbone, Funky Meters and P Funk. Always a great time and good people. 🥰
Very well said!
Love me some Primus! Les Claypool is a goofy-ass singer, but legit one of the all-time greats on bass. And don't worry about the lyrics - they're funny, but (intentionally) stupid.
Definitely like what I’ve heard so far. We will get more Primus on in the future for sure!
Kyle! Hey man! This is Caz! Thank you for watching Sizzle or Fizzle! RJK and I truly appreciate you watching and commenting! Yes! This band is one of a few bands that appear to be TRULY having a damn good time performing! And it works because of the amount of joy it brings RJK and I when we watched and listened! I'm glad a true fan advised me not to worry about the lyrics! I felt like I had a failed attempt at learning the meaning! YOU put me at ease! LOL! Thank you!
@@SizzorFizzCaz ☺
Learned it by A, being 19 at the time, B, having the cassette of the studio track. And C listening again and again.
Yo, check out Blue Collar Tweakers live at Woodstock 94, you'll appreciate it
Will do! Thank you!
Primus is all about madness and Les's bass, as well as Larry on guitar and a few phenomenal drummers over the years! You should check out another of his, before Primus there was Sausage (yes really!) and this gem: ua-cam.com/video/2PXjTtyxsMM/v-deo.html
Will definitely check this out. Thank you!
Got to see Claypool and the Holy Mackarel! in a club with 95 people capacity. It was awesome and the bass felt like a fur coat all over my skin....
Ka-Kaaw! I see that Battlehawks hoodie!
Mark! Hey man! Thank you a bunch for watching, liking, subscribing AND Commenting! RJK and I TRULY appreciate all of you! Yes! Battlehawks my brother! I'm on the east coast now but I am from the Missouri, NE area! XFL doesn't have a KC team, so I picked the nearest city...St. Louis!!!!
We learned the lyrics from the liner notes and seeing them.
Love their energy, their willingness to not be mainstream and the overall creativity! Thanks so much for watching!
Fish On is a progressive Primus song. Its my favorite by them and I love Primus, they suck. Coattails of a Deadman is a hidden treasure by them also.
Thank you. Will check those out!
Hey bmeggs19! This is Caz! Thanks for watching AND commenting on Sizzle or Fizzle! Do you have a preference you would like to see us review?! If yes, let us know!
@@SizzorFizzCaz Fish On for sure
C2B3 is another Les Claypool project, featuring Bernie "P-Funk" Worrell, Brian "Brain" Mantia and Buckethead. Their Opening Jam is even funkier than "Tommy the cat".
Les might be an odd singer but he's an awesome vocalist because he's always in the pocket and in tune.
You're right about the "Say baby..." being a potential Prince line, more precisely a Morris Day and the Time (a Jamie Starr production) line.
If you're into funky bass players, check out Doug Wimbish (he was a part of the Sugarhill Records studio band behind the first album of Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five), his work with Tack>>Head is legendary :

Will have to check it out!
You gotta check out Wyona's Big Brown Beaver the Video version.
Ya like fonkee base, definitely check out some Faith No More.
Thanks Marc! We will have to do that! Appreciate you watching!
Nice! That bass 😎
Rod! Hey man! This is Caz! Yes! Not only THAT BASS! The song in general is out-right-FONKEE! Thank you for watching and commenting! Please keep watching!
7:15 No, it is the bass guitarist who is the singer
Funky bassists are always breaking their G-strings :D I wanted to put that on my license plate frame but the wifey nixed it. :(
listin to "jerry was a race car driver" and "the eyes of a squirrel" by les Claypool
Will do. Thank you!
I give ya'll this,,, The Claypool Lennon Delirium - Southbound Pachyderm | Live at House of Blues and this,,,
Primus Southbound Pachyderm with Danny Carey 2017-12-31 NYE Fox Oakland Peace/JT
I f****** love Primus they're up there with my favorites like Huey Lewis Metallica Megadeth promises this s*** I don't know why there's something funky and awesome about them all their songs
Yessir! This was a damn good song and we will be digging further into their catalog in the future. Stay tuned and in the meantime I hope you like some of the other artists that Caz and I react to and review! Stay positive. Stay blessed. -ЯJK
So the lead guitar is not the singer the bass player is! Also I’m 49 years old seen primus live I wish I was the so called young folk! I understand the flow because it is a flow that’s funk! Please enjoy more! To defy the laws of tradition
Yes, Les plays bass, I knew when Caz said guitar, but I think that was a just a error in speech so we just let the tape keep rolling.
Hey Nick! This is Caz! Thanks for watching and commenting! I truly appreciate you catching my error! I have 3 letters in my first name but it ain't God! Lol! I attempt to be as perfect as I can, but RJK and I know we can/will makes errors here and there! I AM NOT beyond being corrected. It's part of what makes us grow. Thank you! And please...Keep watching!
foonkee you're right! Les Claypool is the Bassist God for real.
We will have some more Primus coming real soon! Stay positive. Stay blessed. -ЯJK
