HIT THE BELL & TELL A FRIEND ABOUT ME. - Розваги
"Well that happened". Ha! Could be the reaction for most Primus songs.
I'd like to extend this comment to all primus songs
That's the best part of primus
Mudd is acid
Les Claypool is the singer and bass player, he's one of the best players ever. Don't try to understand their videos, they are just silly. I feel like most of their songs are just an excuse for them to play music and they throw lyrics on top. Sit back and enjoy the tasty bass grooves.
I agree I fell like their music is just a crazy good jam session then they sprinkle in sum lyrics
Him and flea are the bass killers for sure
If you listen to Les' lyrics, his stuff is actually really deep and nothing random about it. 90s in general had really neat music videos.
@@netkosent1620 I'm dying to know the deep meaning behind "Shake Hands with Beef", and "My name is Mud"
@@ogfail1867 "My name is Mud" - Don't call a grown man out of his name and he won't hit you with a bat. "Shake Hands with Beef" - Plants are good for you, but sometimes a hamburger just tastes amazing. :D
If you have ever watched South Park then you have heard Primus. They did the opening song
ah another intellectual
A great Primus song that has their humor in full effect, but seriously kicks ass is John the Fisherman.
Yes! John The Fisherman would be a great video. The Fisherman chronicles as a series would make for good UA-cam.
Tommy The Cat is a masterpiece
Primus Sucks!
And Shake Hands with Beef
mary the icecube
that's the thing about primus: they were meant to be weird
What do they expect the name of the album is "Pork Soda" :)
Of course they're weird but when people keep suggesting super weird Primus songs they're not going to get into it. Bet they'd love spaghetti western
@@Zehbmusic There are "normal" Primus songs? I've been listening since '93 and have not heard one yet! That's why they're my favorite band!
@@FoxyJane1348 there's still songs that are vastly more open for people who aren't into weird music.
@@Zehbmusic Can't help but groove to John the Fisherman. My grandma'd shake her ass to it, like literally, saw it at a wedding.
LFR Dad - "This is the most country thing I've ever heard."
Les Claypool - "Whurr're you goin' city boy?"
🤣😂🤣
Being a pedantic wanker - that’s a sample from “Deliverance”.
Those Damn Blue Collar Tweakers is a Primus anthem!
Live at Woodstock 94’
douglas gawitt was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. Les played the National Anthem on the bass (Jimi respect) and I felt so guilty when Les scolded us for throwing mud at them. Great show and one of the best performances that day!
I heard Jack Nicholson's in my head as I read your comment.
Try Mr. Krinkle by Primus. From the same album... with a crazy video, of course.
You guys should watch “jerry was a race car driver” next
Wasn’t it on one of the Pro Skater games years ago?
@@paulie98vr6 yes
Yes
That’s the best Primus song. That song is 🔥🔥.
No the best song has to be frizzle try, fish on or mr know it all
Southbound Pachyderm is another that deserves checking out..
arguably their best song musically, and that's saying a lot. i love pachyderm
My favorite primus song. Glad I'm not the only one. Bless you son
@@majikslim82 same
Their singer Les Claypool is an amazing next level bass player who is respected by almost everyone, but he is very odd. Fun fact. He tried out to be the bass player in Metallica at one point. He was a little odd for Metallica's taste, so they told him he was too good on the bass to be in their band.
Thank god,he is way too good for Metallica
Craig hambo nothing Les has done touches Master of Puppets or AJFA
Jason 😢😢😢😢
Les also went to high school with Kirk and Kirk was the one who told him he should come try out
@@Jason17300 funny how Les plays the guitar part of Master of Puppets on bass and completely slays it.
Your daughter is adorable. Genuine and wholesome. I love the expressions on her face and the cute sneak peeks at you. Congratulations for raising a great kid.
They're not really hillbillies. Just crazy folk making great and insane music.
I'm pretty sure they are Californians lol
I love that Les teamed up with Sean Lennon.
I mean they are for sure blue collar people
Les Claypool is an amazing bass player, but if you really wanna hear what primus is all about check out Tommy the Cat.
They have already
@@williamswiniuch7527 oh my bad.
GREAT SONG! And Jerry is a race car driver & who am I kidding I love that whole album.
This song grows on you, the hook is underrated this is one of the hardest songs ever written it just takes a while to realize it.
People: "90s videos are weird"
Primus: "Hold my beer"
They are SO TALENTED! They are also their own genre of music. Nothing like them. The weird lyrics are just to convey their incredible musical talent. Once you acquire the Primus taste, you're hooked.
These people today have no sense of "imagination", everything needs to be "logical"... Also , this obsession with commenting on something and feeling "famous" for being online is so ridiculous..
I can't imagine who makes weirder videos, primus or TOOL
They're jokers, and he's playing a part. They really only care about the music...the lyrics are just for shits and giggles.
Raunchy Dog Productions 💯
I've always told my friends... it's not the lyrics, it's the music! All super talented
I can't really get behind this. A lot of their lyrics are silly (ike Wynona's Big Brown Beaver), but a lot of them aren't. American Life is pretty serious, and so is Mrs. Blaileen. Those Damn Blue Collar Tweekers is about their hometown of El Sobrante.
@@gwalla I likely overstated the case.
Except for in the song 'Too many puppies' that one has meaning.
Every Primus song tells a story. If you react to any of their other songs, definitely check out the lyrics while you watch it... will shed massive amounts of light.
They are what I call a Jam Band. They are crazy good live .They sometimes have Bucket Head play with them .
Have they reacted to Bucket Head ?
I think oysterhead better fits into Jam Band
This was a dark one.. I always thought the character Les is playing is like the gas-station attendant from Texas Chain Saw Massacre. You guys should try "Those Damn Blue Collar Tweakers" from Woodstock, Jerry Was a Race Car Driver, or Too Many Puppies! 💛 Primus :)
You got to react to those damned blue collared tweekers live at Woodstock 94. Also Mr. Krinkle
Agreed!!! Mr. Krinkle never gets old, their best in terms of popular Primus tunes and that video is beautiful.
This is a definitely a "love it or hate it" song and I am in the *love it" camp and consider this the greatest music video ever.
One thing I especially love that doesn't get much mention is the burnt orange tone of the shots of the band out in the field by the tree. It adds a foreboding, rustic, autumnal vibe that just gets me.
Primus is a unique band kind of Psycadelic Funk Metal/ eperimental Rock.
Les Claypool alwais like weird stuff like he did "Primus & the Chocolate Factory with ther Fungi Ensemble".
Pork Soda , the album with My name is Mud is such a masterpiece , when it came out everyone was blown away!
Your family is awesome! I truly enjoy watching your family watch stuffm
U guys are adorable. Million dollar smiles.
Tommy The Cat is a solid next choice.
From there I'd go: Jerry Was A Racecar Driver; DMV; Lacquer Head; Shake Hands With Beef.
All of their music and videos are awesome, but I think those five will give the widest cross section of their catalog.
Kind regards! I thoroughly enjoy your reactions.
They already did that whack ass song. They need to do shit like American Life, SouthBound Pachyderm, Over the Falls, over the electric grapevine etc. Stuff that half the people requesting Primus prolly never even heard before.
I used DMV as my ringtone for a long time!
Tommy the Cat!!! Say baby do ya wanna lay down be me? Day baby, do ya wanna lay down by my side? Say baby? Say baby!!! ...... Their lyrics are mostly silly nonsense but, soooo much fun
Jeremy Coll
Well, she came slidin' down the alleyway like butter drippin' off a hot biscuit
@@markshaffer6447 what's the song that goes, Stoooooooned. Stooooned agaaaain? I'm bad with titles
The 🐐, bass player. Try out for Metallica, they told him he was too good, to start his own band.
True story, pretty much
Les grew up with Kirk. It was more a try out just for the fuck of it.
He was already in Primus at that point.
@@Glory_to_the_undead_King he wasn't just "in" Primus, he IS Primus. It's his band
Yeah, well.... Primus Sucks.
the "Sneaky Creep bassplayer" is genius Les Claypool......hahahaha can see you LFR guys getting hooked !!!
"Shout out to the bass player" - reference to probably one of the greatest of all time. LOL!
She's so adorable & more mature than her dad lol
Nice reaction. I dig that you have such a great relationship with your kids. Props that they are so open minded.
Victor Wooten is also a genious. check out his take on Amazing Grace
Funny thing about this song is when they’d played it at Woodstock the audience started throwing chunks of mud onto the stage.
I saw these guys at Woodstock ‘94! They’re their own genre. Their performance of Those Damned Blue Collar Tweakers at that show is worth a listen... and I’m moshing under the camera crane stage left! PRIMUS SUCKS! 🤘
The whole performance is on UA-cam lol i love when they started playing this song and people started throwing mud on stage lol
@@thecausalgamer7916 when Les scolded us, there was genuine remorse in the crowd. I was too afraid of getting trampled so I never grabbed any mud but I sure did feel bad just for wanting to lol
@@opalviking yeah but at least you didn’t I would have killed to have been there but i was only 3 at the time lol
I wasn't there, but I've seen video. But that was also a few years before I heard of them, anyways. That, and I was only 11 at the time.
However, if you watch their Hallucino-Genetics 2004 DVD show, I'm the one they show holding up the 'Les Claypool for President' sticker at the start of "Spegetti Western."
I Love your daughter's reaction every time he spits. She just stares at the camera like, Really?!?! I am in tears laughing right now! 🤣🤣 The lead singer is also one of the best bass players in the world. You should listen to him live, he is amazing on the bass. 😁
Primus is an acquired taste, but It is fun to watch you guys experience it for the first time. Primus also does the intro music for south park.
Its so trippy like a flashback watching people be exposed to this very strange genre from my younger days. You're definitely open minded and getting most all there is to understand about Primus. Awesome bass and weird lyrics is all it is.
This song and music video is a complex, sophisticated production. The music video might be classified as video art. It cannot be interpreted universally. It means different things to different people. That is good art, in my opinion. The musicianship is excellent in this song. The lead guitar work is even more complex than that in Living Colour, and that is saying something. The bass work is killer, and the drum work is very polished, and the transitions are well-timed, and well-executed. Primus performs like a Swiss or Japanese timepiece, made with the best parts and materials.
There is an element of humor to most of their videos and a lot of their songs. Keep that in mind whilst having your mind blown.
A classic song and video!
The people in the spa were actors. The actor at the end was drinking "Pork Soda", which is the name of the album this song is from.
The singer/bass-player Les Claypool was in character as 'Mud' in the video. The other two band members faces were never shown.
I've always thought of Primus in the same vain as Frank Zappa. They do whatever the frick they want, are great musicians and take that seriously, while the lyrics are more or less secondary to the music. He has fun with it, no doubt. There is no band like Primus. Also it's pronounced like "Prime-Us". Y'all are awesome. \,,/
Your daughter is ADORABLE! God bless!!!!
"I don't fully understand what's happening, so yeah..." 🤣🤣 Awesome response! Primus has layers, smells like seven of them!
I have been to “inadvertently” four of their shows… they opened for Rush in the early nineties in Raleigh, NC.
Les Claypool is his name and he plays killer lines with FUNK!
extra watched this 20y ago u have one nice smart kid. cheers from serbia
The guy taking the mud bath is Bob Cock, a musician/artist and friend of the band. He also shows up in the video for Jerry Was A Race Car Driver. The other guys at the spa are just actors. Mud is played by bassist/frontman Les Claypool, and the other members of the band only appear in silhouette.
They have a lot of comedy in their music. Love the funk
Primus is definitely an outside of the box kind of band. Welcome to the rabbit hole.
The singer and bass player is Les Claypool. The band is heavily bass dominated. For some songs, they have deep meanings, but sometimes nonsense lyrics. The music videos are only jokes because the band didn’t take it too seriously. They are amazing to me.
It's a jamming song! I love it!
This song will grow on you every time you'll hear it you'll want to hear it again a little bit more
Homeboy's knockin back some Makers' Mark while his daughter is questioning their existence. LOL Love y'allllllllllll
MY FAV SONG MUDDDDDD!!!!! Bumps in the car!!!! 😎😎😎😎😎
Video kicks ass.
this is sick ! :D
The bass player is lead singer, Les Claypool. He also created the theme song for South Park.
Thats my favorite Primus song.
Primus is performance art.
You my dawgs! ☺️
Racist
Les Claypool is the singer and songwriter, also the Legendary Bass player in Primus. IF you didn't know already the intro to the show "South Park" is Les; he is the a legend.
"The music is very simplistic". - I nearly died laughing!
She has the prettiest smile.
Those bass riffs are the best and the guitar is also good Those drum solos are the bomb and the vocals are really strange in this song 🎵
But it fits in with the video 🤔
The singer is the bass player. 😂 Les Claypool’s side project Duo De Twang does a cover of Stayin Alive and it’s awesome. I’d love for y’all to see that. And they do a new version of Wynona’s BBB.
I love both your reaction that is so funny
"you don't mess with Mud"
*PREACH!!!!*
The big guy in the mud bath is a radio DJ, Big Rick Stewart! He is in the vid cause he was friends with Primus and always played their stuff!
Primus is one of the ultimate stoner Rock bands ever. Rock on🤘
Every song by Primus is crazy
You also reacted to Primus "Tommy The Cat" (Live Boonaroo) a while ago.
Primus are awesome!
Love the beard!
This video kills me every time and has ever since I first saw it, Les' goofy acting is too funny! And how the lyrics end up are hilarious too ... talking about the dead guy's rancid breath and then "kissed him upside the cranium with an aluminum baseball bat".
Les is one of the best bass players. very original.
@Zoned 247 ooooh Jaco, forgot to mention him. A true genious aswell:)
Your daughter is very pretty. Congratulations.
"well that happened" iconic response to Primus
Primus are an acquired taste lol. I absolutely love them. They're all amazing musicians, they just like to clown around
This is early 90's ish. This is what prompted rap!!
Primus fans know the chant "Primus Sucks." We love them!
Welcome to the Primus definition of gluttony!!! I love this band
They are a northern cal funck thrash band. I've seen them over 40 times. Between suck on this, frizzle fry and the sailing the see of cheese and the can of pork soda at New Year's Eve Ball at Henry J kaiser Arena . The omni club awesome in Berkeley Ca. They are the best funck thrash band around.
I love how nyah (hope I spelled that correctly) turns red every time you say HIT THAT THANG!!!
Les does play the hick vibe but also is an incredible bass player, it's an intersting combo.
I hope you have continued on a journey of listening to more Primus since this video. Yes, they can be weird, but they are an incredible band.
Oh when she said and I quote ‘ the music is very simplistic’ I nearly shit a brick... if you only knew just how good this is musically . I applaud you for keeping with this Continue your journey and let the magic eye reveal what your not hearing and seeing and hopefully you will become one of the enlightened
Crystal Lake- Aeon !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Phenomenal talent and killer drums. Hits hard and fun videos
that bass player is the mud character and also the greatest bass player ever Les Claypool
Primus is in their own sphere, it's all about the hook. Feel it.
Primus can do no wrong. Thanks for the reaction! Les Claypool is one of the best bassists alive!
That is also the Lead Bass player Les Claypool! singer!
Just saw this. Love your assessment. Primus loves to songs in the "third person". If they were actors their songs would be character studies. Sometimes cerebral....Sometimes just a silly premise so Les Claypool can just show his Bass Guitar prowess. When you got a face like that, you aren't gonna get far playing love songs. So you got to be quirky!
hahaha no really, Claypool is a total sex icon, would smash.
Primus music is anything BUT simplistic.
Best start to Primus is John The Fisherman. Also Tommy The Cat is another good one to check out
Deliverance: this movie is where the concept comes from. The woods of Georgia. You where close.
The pigs head was the mascot for the album this song was on, it's called Pork Soda
Greatest bassist of all time!!!!
That's the best bassist
The bass player is the singer his name is Les Claypool. Fun fact he tried out for Metallica when Cliff Burton (rip) but the guys told him that he was too damn good and told him no
I find it interesting that you mention the song is very country. I agree with you even though technically it is alternative music. The band is originally from El Sobrante CA. and yes, it is a very "country" place. I can see how they were influenced by country music and culture. Great reaction video!
