I’ve been a lazy guitar strummer on and off for most of my life, I’m 63, and thought soloing was a mystery available only to the chosen ones. Charlie has opened a door on onto a magical world, I can’t wait to get started, thank you Stef

Hey man I can not thank you enough for your Email. Unfortunately I just had a stroke a couple of months ago at age 48. Lol a stroke at 48. Which believe it or not it probably saved my life because it would lead to the discovery of a rare brain disease where my brain fluid doesn’t drain properly and the fluid acts as a tumor pressing on my brain stem. I tell you this because I left the hospital against medical advice because they wanted me to go to rehab because I couldn’t talk right or walk properly. Once I got home and tried to play guitar again I felt like I was 10 years old again. I just couldn’t play at first. But I found some of your stuff from a friend of mine and I just kept playing and singing. I am about 80% back to where I was and I actually credit you as well as prayers and God. I wish I could afford your course because you are an awesome teacher. I feel guilty for watching for free. I wish I could pay you for it. You deserve all the success in the world my friend. I just wanted you to know that little story and that sometimes people don’t realize the unintended things that happen when they just live live and do their thing. Thanks again and I’m sorry I can’t pay you for your part in saving my life. I love your videos. I wish I was one tenth of the player you are. But I credit my playing for my skills coming back to me. I honestly thought I would not be able to play again. My voice is still shaky but I think it’s getting better. Please never underestimate yourself.Peace to you and yours my friend.

I have just started. I have been playing for over a month, and after watching your lesson I have gotten a lot better than just surfing around the web looking for info. Here is where I am learning the most. You are an amazing teacher. Thank you very much.

I've been buying, selling, trading and trying to learn how to play guitar for longer than I care to admit. Came across this video with Charlie and was hooked. I joined as a member and am working through GMM 101but keep coming back to this lesson. Excellent ! Thank You from Niagara Falls, Canada ! May have gotten a little carried away - ordered the hoodie too.

I have been playing the guitar for over 35 years and I am quite good at a lot of things pertaining to metal, and some blues and country. I can even throw in some classical along with that. I started out strumming chords in country songs and some classic rock. Then, at about 18 or 19 I discovered a distortion pedal and that changed everything. The thing about playing lead is that back then it was tough to learn anything on your own, and books were my only source of learning. To play decent lead, you would be best to hire a teacher. I could not afford that and was stuck with books. My books showed the 5 modes of the minor pentatonic scale, and would say, memorize these and have fun. Not showing how to link together parts of each mode. So, I would eventually memorize all 5 modes, but I would play them from top to bottom in sequence, not really able to pick out parts of each mode and link them together properly. Let alone learn all the little tricks that makes a player unique. Even pinch harmonics was actually an accident that I finally realized was an awesome technique. The internet has made learning to play the guitar so much easier. And this video alone shows me more than I had learned in a decade in the 80s. You are great and thank you for making this possible.

If I was to pick just one.
guitarist it would have to be
JEFF BECK. Incredible ability yet remains humble.
Thank you for the lesson. You just simplified something I thought would take me years of study.

Thank you so much, not normally one to comment but your lessons have helped me so much! Will you integrate the 2nd , 3rd , 4th and 5th minor pentatonic positions into the heatmap too? Or is there no real point?

Hi, I HAVE A QUESTION, Now I might leave a couple comments throughout this video as I'm watching it, but I will watch the whole thing. Do you have any UA-cam videos on the same subject but for more advanced players. I'm only asking because you're really showing it slowly ( and I get it, beginners will definitely appreciate this video)

I've subscribed to the channel and selected the link to receive the free blues heatmap instruction. I provided a valid email address for the instruction to be sent to but I've received no information at all. I have checked the spam and trash folders for the information but nothing there either, I have also tried several additional attempt to receive the Blues Solo Heatmap information with no results. Would you please advise me how to receive the instruction, you assistance will be greatly appreciated.
