Great advice and so true. I find lots more people are hesitant and or fearful to working on their own bikes, even easy tasks of changing fluids or tire pressure. I recently was doing a detailed cleaning of my rear wheel and noticed 3 bolts had backed out on my belt drive sprocket, luckily I found it and added some loctite to them. Doing your own maintenance builds a relationship between yourself and the bike, you get to know its ins and outside, like you say. Thanks for the videos, your great at showing just how easy things are to do and giving people some confidence in doing their own work.
Happy to help. I love working on my machine. Old Chevy, Harley I find it very rewarding. Thank you for your Sub Terry. Any questions just ask. Ride Safe and have a great day.
Good points. Fixing to pick up my first Harley, but I've been riding metrics for awhile now. Folks forget how important maintenance is. Thanks for this. Great heads up on things to look at on a road king
Happy to help. Any questions just ask. Road kings are great machines. The more you know about your machine. The better your experience. It's very rewarding to do your own service work. Thank you for watching. And all your support Will. Ride safe and have a great day.
Rocco - you have some good common sense videos. I just discovered them in the last week. I have owned and maintained my bikes (Harleys and a few Hondas) for the last thirty years. I also try to do as much of my own maintenance as possible. Keep up the good work.
I have a 2000 Road King Classic with the dreaded marelli EFI. Apart from really low rpm when cold starting it runs fine but lately i started hearing a pinging sound coming from the front of the motor it seemed and i freaked out a little thinking the cam chain tensioners had grenaded but they looked fine. was about to start to remove the rocker covers to take a look at the top end when i notice the shifter linkage was all loose so tighten it up and voila pinging sound gone :D Should have watched this video first but will put these points into regular maintainance scedule. Cheers for a great video
Hey I appreciate your channel a lot. Im just wondering if you can make a video on how can I go about assembling a tool set for my 2002 road king because I want to follow each video you did, but don't have the tools for the job. What's the best way I can go about buying my first set of tools for my first time maintenance on my bike.
Happy to help, as you come across the jobs you buy the needed tools. Look at the video. what tools are needed. Thank you for watching and all your support elijah. again. Ride safe and have a great day.

The best way to stop your shifter linkage, wearing out or getting loose, get rid of the heel shifter. That’s the number one killer of shifter linkage bushings. Shifters are bad.
Happy to help. That's an idea, People kinda love the heal to toe shifter. It's a real signature thing on the cruisers. Thank you for watching and all your support Catman. Ride safe and have a great day.
The bushings are a snap to change. I easily made a home made tool to remove and install them. They’re only 3 bucks. Change them once a year. I’ll never lose my heel shift. Love it.

How do i safely tighten my battery like you did? I went to put the metal cover on my battery today and it sparked at me. Why is that? The battery comes loose often like you mentioned. But the battery freaks me out when touching it. Please help 😁
Happy to help. That is your positive cable grounding to the frame. Wrap the tool and tape and be very careful you don't touch any metal to the positive side that is grounded. Electrical tape around the 10 mm wrench. That's not how it works out. Thank you for watching and your sub Carlos.. Ride safe and have a great day.

shifter linkage and floor boards should have codder pins if they are going to do this crap. i could not believe my eyes when i was riding my first harley down the street, a 2007 road king, and my shifter FELL OFF!! i have owned many bikes over the years and the only other time that happened was when in was riding a 1979 Yamaha 50 cc dirt bike. i like the road king. it is a joy to ride. but that is ridiculous
it just shocks me the way things are designed. I believe they do this so you trade your bike in or buy a new one. it's by design to fail, they should be ashamed but they're paying the price Harley Davidson. They got to change their ways, I love my Road King.. but I know my Suzuki GSXR will have none of that. Thank you for watching and all your support. Ride safe and have a great day Hana.

How many miles? What is vibrating? How old are your tires?
Tires are good. Engine is vibrating. 19, 600 on bike.
Send me a video of your bike running to ERocco3964@gmail.com. Hope I can help.
Check your engine mounts, the front lower mount especially. Look at the rubber to see if it is deteriorating or if the mount bolts loosened up.
