- we ripped out the old moldy bedroom in the 90s motorhome we have been converting and getting ready to hit the road with , the bedroom in this van was so bad it was not safe for anyone to sleep in , but after ripping it out we transformed it in to something worthy of sleep

So what was the cause of the soggy wood? Did it have a leak that was fixed?
Yes we found that there had been a crack on the outer shell so that’s what was causing the issue, all sorted now though

Where was the water coming in ,and what did you do to sort it , , I'm loving this build
There was damage on the roof which we filled with sealent and then sealed again with rubber paint . No leaks now

cracking job on the overhead bed Neil and Emma. It looks fab now and Dough is really coming on. Not gonna lie though, I wanted to laugh at you struggling with the duvet cover but honestly.....its my absolute worst hate ever ( apart from spagetti......dont ask lol) I just detest changing duvet covers LOL.... Loving the new floor. The whole van is now looking stand out. Its brill to see an old van that was unloved find his glory again and be loved and used once more. I'll look forward to seeing your trip to Angelsey. Much respect- Kenny

I love this van. when I first saw it I thought "what the ???" but you've worked your magic. wonderful. PS can you recommend anywhere close to the city of Liverpool where we can park either on a site or a park and ride as we intend to visit early next month and hubbie is a big Beatles fan we also have leckie bikes so can cycle in. thanks in advance x

I think not allowing water to get in is the key . But condensation is also water so it’s going to be a case of keeping the air flow and not letting things stay damp

Which has only done 24,000 miles . And sure why not are are not far over the budget we set so as we see it it’s a win . We have a second van which family can use and it’s all been done for under £2000 . I mean that’s 2 iPhones

Little tip for future. PVA. The back of the wall boards..and the old timber....also remember bucket of hot water soak any mastic or silicone... Easy to apply and clean down...also idl tape for awnings to joints Windows... Especially for sky light....which probs is what's leaking and awning rails....Easy fixes....
We thought that about the sky light bit Nop not a single bit of damp or wet there at all . It has damage on the passanger side which is where the water was coming in . And the same kind of damage on the roof on the driver side . All fixed sealed and not leaking any more . Thanks fully !! Well hopefully

Must admit rather you than me using that "pursuasion stick" (aka "Birmingham Screwdriver") up there - I'd have been scared of popping any joints on the outside panelwork & allowing leaks. But then that is why you actually do it & I just watch you do it!
Neil does have a way with a persuasion stick as he calls it!! 😂😂😂 I would never dare do half the stuff he does for the same reasons as you! But that’s why Neil’s good at what he does, thanks for the comment
