Wait... you mean you are not supposed to immediately jump out with a parachute and a selfie stick if you have engine trouble??? 😂😂
LOL beat me to it.
That was my first thought. Don't forget your parachute, and make sure to have your selfie stick available when it is needed the most :-)
Don't forget the fire extinguishers in your pants
Also 9 go pro angles. Don't forget that lmao.
also, fire extinguisher strapped to your leg...
Future video idea: grab a friend with a really good telescope, on a really clear day/night forecast, and fly out to the back of beyond Nevada. And take in the celestial beauty of some of the darkest skies in the continental United States. The full glory of the galactic core is visible in the summer skies.
This is so gnarly, I have to get into backcountry flying. Good reminder that altitude is your friend when traveling over areas where landing may be tough.
I love that "I'm gonna do something that's going to make you uncomfortable but I've gotta lose altitude." Always gotta remember saying that to pax before a slip or you'll freak them out! Haha
or..."I'm gonna do something I saw in a cartoon once and I think I can make it work. Tighten your harness!"
Wow that water is Amazingly clear , that looks crazy crazy FUN!!!!!!! Thanks for sharing guys
These last three videos have been so sweet! You are so blessed to be able to do these things.
The McArthur - Pit River - Hat Creek - McCloud River area is the most beautiful part of California. A fellow I knew years ago farmed near where you were, talked about working the fields, going one direction looking at Mt Shasta, the other direction had a view of Mt Lassen.
Keep that parachute handy brother.
First sign of trouble, ghosting.
Really loved this video series, and I don't fish at all but just a great way to use the plane for adventure that's a little different than your norm!
Thanks again for sharing another awesome video adventure with us all.
How he hit the horn before starting the engine, just cracked me up 😂😂😂
Awesome adventure Trent! Thanks for sharing!!
Thanks for the video it was awesome . Can't wait to see how your hanger is coming along. Thanks for sharing your amazing adventures with us.....
There is a beautiful high county airport in McCall Idaho. The airport is having its annual open house June 24th. Please think about coming to the event. They do annual beaver drop from an airplane. I love your videos and I hope to see you there. The time it starts is 9:00 A.M
Such a beautiful area, but for my husband and me, tinged with sadness.
A husband and wife from his workplace, and one of their daughters, died on the way to Fall River Mills airport about 17 years ago. It was not engine failure or anything wrong with the airplane, but for some reason he asked to go from IFR, to VFR flight following. I expect it was supposed to be a fun Memorial Weekend getaway, but his mistake had him flying around 8500 feet into an 8500 foot mountain not far from their destination. I guess having only been instrument rated for about a month was not sufficient experience for him to be flying in clouds and winter weather. The plane was located 2 days later in trees and snow.
After watching your video, I can see how it's a wonderful destination. We always need to remember, by whatever means we travel, that we need to stay alive and well in order to enjoy the destination. My husband and I did eventually drive up to that area, and went to see Burney Falls and other sights. It's all so different from southern California, even in the mountains. The idea of a big, spring fed river is amazing.
Flying around Sydney bush, we used to call it "tiger country". You DONT want an engine out over a forest of 40 foot Bluegums...
Another EXCELLENT production, Trent, just gets better and better...
Great back country flying as well as fishing. Fabulous.
Love the clear prop honk lol
These past trout fishing videos have been amazing!! Love to see more content like this from you!!
"Altitude is your friend" is true, but another take is "airspeed is life, altitude is life insurance!" Thanks for all the great videos.
Trent, you put out consistently great content. Sound editing on this one was particularly impressive.
Trent great video. From a hang glider pilots soaring trike perspective all pilots should practice point of destination. Idle your throttle and pick you best lz. Look at your landing point if it rises to your point of destination you have little chance of making it. If it sinks to your point of destination you have good chance of makin it. Hang glider pilots ,soaring trike pilots and sail plane pilots do it almost every landing. But i like to pick an lz with fish here in montana.
What an amazing trip and I love the music, great video.
Awesome guys!!! 👍
Good morning from Minnesota!! So fantastic! Great episode!
Great adventure...doesn't get any better...aviation, fishing and friends.
You outdid yourself with all that sweet drone footage….. really great editing and well put together Trent!
I think I mentioned Hot Creek North of Crowley. There's an airport there and one wheel will put you on some of the funnest native trout fishing. One secret is drag a wooly bugger next to the bank upstream as it drives browns nuts!
Love the combination of flying and fly fishing! My 2 passions in life 👍 Stunning films!
Great stuff! Just all the fishing and flying.
Big Spring Creek in Lewistown, MT is fed by Big Spring which flows from 50,000 to 64,000 gallons per minute which calculates at the lower flow rate to be 72,000,000 gallons per day. That is a big spring but the one you are fishing is about 10 times as big. WOW.
Two of my favorite UA-cam channels put into one. Great series.
Hi Trent,
That looked like a great time, with catching some Beautiful fish. You then had a relaxing flight home. Nothing better!
Take care,
Be safe.
Amazing video and amazing views! Your stories are amazing! One day I’ll find small plane like yours and go for a big camping trip!
thanks for sharing. Love it
I feel you when it comes to flying over terrain with nowhere to land! Can be pretty stressful, and we have a lot of that up here in ontario 😅 great video, as always 🥰
Omg so may lost fish. Stop stripping 4 feet at a time unless they are running straight at you which is rare. Couple quick strips to get the rod tip down, hold tension and ‘get the fish on the reel. The one he finally got in he put on the reel. It’s way more controlled that way and small flies require consistent pressure but not too much. The reel regulates that.
Love the Movies your are creating!
In US aviation statute miles are used to measure visibility in weather reports. Speeds and distances are measured and reported in nautical miles. The nautical mile is based on the Earth’s longitude and latitude coordinates, with one nautical mile equaling one minute of latitude. Aeronautical charts for navigation use latitude and longitude.
Great video Trent! Love watching your adventures 👍 what song is playing at the end? Really diggin it
Not much to say Trent, an awesome video you make the best. Safe travels
Subscribed because of content and Wild Fly Scottie.
Soo cool to see you guys working together
I was Born and raised in Fall River. That dredge you showed was built on the spot , late 60s i believe. If you go back fly over the springs very impressive. Nice video as always.
Great trip TP.
Awesome awesome video, just spectacular scenery......
Great vid, good job fellas. 👍🏻
The first two lessons I was taught in flying: Always stay steps ahead of your airplane...90/10 rule! Axiom: (A)viate, (N)avigate, (C)ommunicate. This always bodes well in any condition whether it be normal, abnormal, or an actual emergency.
Manual focus always works :) First flight with my nephew I slipped it into KAUN, he loved it.
Epic content..the deltas are beautiful..
I love my SC Power Drifter! You don’t see many on this side of the rockies.
Trent, I loved the video. I spent 30 years flying a C-175 out of O89. Good times in the sportsman's paradise of Shasta County.
Great discussion about emergency landings. As a former Navy H60 crewmen, we discussed it in detail: Pavement, open field, water, then trees. Thanks Trent for great content.
Awesome content as per usual Trent. Don’t stop believin! Hold on to that… yup
That was awesome
Loved that brief vertical drone image ! !
Trent I will be at Reno this year for the races would love to meet you!
Great vid! Come fish the White river in the Ozarks! Lots of back country flying. Fly Oz!
Yeah a great union of the possibilities of having a light plane. Love it.
There's some serious good times when there's a lot of duding going on. It's a dudalating good time.
I need that horn so I can honk it just before startup too!
Does the pass side wing fabric need to be tightened? We keep seeing what looks like the fabric flapping. Is that what it is?
I liked your shirt it looks like it has topo map lines all over it!!
Great idea!!!🎉🎉
The only thing disappointing is that I have to wait until the next one of these series. Looking forward to Scotty's post. Best collaboration I've seen in a very long time. Thanks Trent and Scotty.
Epic collab on these last 3 videos
You need to fly up to Montana. I see a lot of people out fly fishing as I drive by (soooo jealous). They seem pretty willing to share the bounty as well.
More! 👍
Nice one!!
More Trent, and more Dirty Guvnahs in the background. Love it.
The Slip was the only thing I was immediately good at in an airplane, & I think it was bc I've spent a lot of time swinging old pickups around in snow & mud
With those bigger fish you need to get them on the reel so they are working against the drag, rather than stripping the line and they only work against the rod flex. Looked like that last fish was worked against the reel drag, well done! Great fun an wonderful videos you produce!
Hey Trent, Love the vid's but When trout fishing and your not going to keep the fish you catch, try not to lift the trout out of the water or handle them to much. To the trout it's like they have a film over the their body and and handling them removes the slime and that's what kills them. Make sure your hands are super wet and not handle them to much out of the water. Pease brother.
shot with the snow covered mountain in the back ground was great
One of your best edits.
That's where I live!!! Wish to know you where coming!!!!!
You live in Fall River?! That’s awesome, it’s a beautiful place
What a transition into the ad
Awesome awesome video Trent. Well done. Hit Jay up with a website. Your best fishing video to date. Now get that hanger done bro. Just finished mine.😎
Those really are awesome bobbers. Wish he would keep making the balsa ones.
Also, you need to get scottie a golden trout next time!
Dang T, that fishing is top tier.
Nice vid
Absolutely loved this series with Scotty; truly beautiful videos (loved the drone ending shot with the music) ...but I will go there and ask the question: were you being intentional over these last few videos in showing Scotty losing so many fish that he hooked? 🤣
Haha, that’s part of the story man!! 😂
Fishing in the distant shadow of Mount Shasta.
Man that is some of nature’s tastiest nutrients and you guys release them !! Dude I would have a hard time not taking a couple of those baby’s home for dinner !!!!
Guvs! Dirty Guvs the perfect music here!
I am gonna learn to fly fish this year, I am committed to putting away the spinning gear until I can learn. You are responsible, Trent. LOL
Wow, a Bush Plane over Bush !!
Trent brings a new meaning to FLY fishing....lol
Your no road available situation remembers me of something :
When going to a ground school to work on my IFR...
I met a girl...
Nope, not that kind of story ...
I had a "déjà vu" impression though...
Or more exactly a "déjà heard"...
We found out it was from a mayday call two years before...
She perfectly landed a Cessna with no working engine in a field in Normandy.
She was flying at 7000 thousand feet amsl.
That did give her a few minutes
Sick dude😂
Flew over 62 miles of Lake Michigan 3 days ago. Nothing but trust in our Lycoming 360. She’s well maintained and purred like a kitten the entire flight.
Hope you guys had a life raft onboard.
Best duo
Dang, that auto focus made an appearance quite a bit in the last couple video intros 😂. Just love it when that happens 😅. I’m a floatplane pilot and avid fisherman, and these are really making it hard not to get my own plane. Nicely done fellas
Are you building the hanger and strip at your house?
Hey Trent I have a huge interest in bush flying love your content i watch 90% of it but I want to get with you and Mike Patey with extending the bush fishing thing have either of thought about flying a kyak on the outside of the plane kinda like Mike has his electric dirt bikes on his plane what is the limit of what you can put out side of a bush plane I was kinda thinking 2 kyaks could be mounted on the side behind the wing on there side I really want to know if this is possible
How about to build in a rocket with parachute, like the microlight aircraft have?
Then you are safe in case of the engine quits over land where landing is impossible.
Beautiful film work. I don’t even think I like fishing.
Loved the video, the "rock 'n' roll" soundtrack made my speakers actually stink though.
Good lookin' fish, dudes!
Anybody know what shirt Trent is wearing in this video? It’s dope!
another excellent video! I gotta admit, i miss the old intro though.
