haha its the only way to accurately measure job time for maintenance on these bikes at home that I'm aware of. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave this comment. Cheers
Nice video. Here is a tip on changing 800 cable. To avoid having to readjust cable length. Paint the back nut and threads with a bright fingernail polish . Let it dry.. it will hold that nut in exact spot so no fiddling necessary. If you are changing cable, it makes it easy to measure position and transfer that to new cable. This assumes shifting was fine before and you are replacing cable with tired boots for example.
great tips and advice on this job. Really appreciate you watching and taking the time to share some valuable time/headache saving info in the comments. Cheers
Glad it was helpful, just curious, why did you need to replace/adjust yours? Thanks for watching and sharing real world job time for both with all of us. Cheers
not a problem, quality and speed are some of the goals for the vids so thanks for watching and taking the time to leave some feedback in the comments. Cheers
What position does the transmission lever need to be in to make adjustments? My 08 slips and knocks once moved into gear. I have to be gentle to not grind the gears after shifting. Also doesn’t tell me if I’m in P, N, Or L ANNND not speedometer reading 99% of the time.
Hmmm I'm not sure exactly, I believe I did it in N? good luck and let us know what you figure out on this. Maybe someone with more experience will see this and have better answers for you. Cheers
Hey pal i have a french quad, d-n-r so the back nut adjusts ? So if i take it back a little ill get my missing neutral? ND Back further ill get reverse which will give me all three? Which gear do you adjust it i n is it neutral or drive???
hmmmmmm.. not sure I follow you here. the adjustment should help all 3 go in smooth if the cable/transmission/shifter are all good there should be a sweet spot where you get all of them. Sorry I wasn't much help with this, but let us know how it goes and I appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Cheers
If I remember correctly, grinding or just not being able to get it into gear would be symptoms. Thanks for watching and taking the time to ask a good question in the comments. Cheers
unfortunately I'm not familiar with those machines enough to give you even an educated guess, I'd check the shifter linkage maybe for some sort of adjustment or any sort of bends, brief look on a forum mentioned the bobcat 3400 maybe prone to a belt or secondary clutch issue if yours is belt driven? I know I sometimes have to give my Kubota Diesel a little gas to get the gears out of a bind, but thats a hydro-static hydraulic transmission and probably not very similar to bobcat. Sorry I couldn't be of more help with this one thanks for watching and taking time to leave a comment. Cheers
I will definitely add that to the list of videos to make, next time I pick up a commander or a maverick. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a good video suggestion in the comments. Cheers
hmm its been a while but I remember it being fairly tricky to get it perfect, maybe try the adjustment again just going a tiny bit at a time (maybe a 1/4 turn) I could be wrong here but I think youd want to back towards the rear of the machine with that back nut. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your real world experience of this job in the comments. Cheers
ahhh I went back and watched it and that makes sense. I appreciate you mentioning that as I was unaware they are directional, I learn something new every day, and am always appreciative when additional helpful info finds its way to me in the comments. Thanks for watching and taking the time to leave some wrenching knowledge in the comments. Cheers
Something else I found. I have to remove the seats and the plastic under the seats and battery box just to get a wrench on it? I think it’s time to sell. Anyone want an 08 800 and lube in Ga let me know.
Polaris shift cable is junk broken after first oil change. I'm pissed. Doesn't any one make a real one that works. Go Honda, never had a problem for yearrrrrrr'sssss. ? Sick of junk hi priced junk from Polaris. Sorry.
Love the 1-3 beers. Thats exactly how i judge all my jobs. Your time frame is on point my man.
