- In this Vlog, we used Polaris part #7081862 to repair Uncle Ben's RZR XP Turbo's shifter cable. It was stuck in gear and would not shift back to park, or reverse for that matter! Big Z walks you through removing and installing the new RZR gear selection cable. We also gave away a Savage UTV belt case and check out some jets. More coming in the next episode so make sure to subscribe and, if you want notifications, hit that notification bell!

Thanks, just over 3k miles and purchased a cable, but have not taken the time to change it out yet.
Keep'er around till you need to... unless it's already a problem, then stop sitting around and do it ;) If it's not shifting correctly, try adjustments first!
I am jealous of your beard.....bad azz !!!!!!
great video, by the way !!!!!
Thanks and thanks!

A quick question, if you would sir.
I just bought a 2022 RZR Pro XP, my first RZR.
The shifting feels VERY stiff to me. It goes into all the gears, but can require a firm hand to make it happen. Is this a Polaris thing? Are they just generally stiff shifting, or is this something I need to have the dealer look at before I'm out of warranty in two months. My dealer isn't the greatest, if it's just the nature of the beast, I'd like to know before I put my machine in the hands of a dealer I'd rather avoid.
Thank in advance for your time.
Polaris shifters never feel "right" for some reason... If it's taking a lot of force, consider adjusting the cable just hair tighter. You can also check your clutch. If the primary is causing the secondary to engage and rotate at idle, that will make it difficult to shift as well. If it is the clutch, then you'll want to look at a clutch kit with springs and weights, which is usually recommended anyways for performance.

Thanks for taking the time to respond, I appreciate it.
I have checked the clutch alignment and all is good. The secondary does not spin at idle.
I'll look into making some small, incremental adjustments to the cable itself.
Thanks again, and subscribed. 👍
@@jneill-dj8nz Thanks for the sub! While you're making your adjustments, remember that you might need to rock the car forward/backward before adjusting. The in-trans parking brake can be fiddly if not centered during adjustment.
@@SXSGuys
Awesome.
Thanks for the tip brother!
@@jneill-dj8nz np good luck 🤘
So if I got a 4 seater 1000 the adjustment side would be at the shifter up front?
I believe that's the case. I don't have one here to double check, but I believe the adjustment nut is at the shifter. Basically which ever end has three nuts!
@@SXSGuys I got another question bro I just fixed my shifter cable and it goes into all the gears fine. but when I shift gears I don’t have to use the brake anymore. I’m not sure if I did something wrong cuz im pretty sure I had to hit the brake in order to switch gears before but I’m not sure if I’m goin crazy or what. Any tips or help would be appreciated
J Money you don’t have to hit the brakes... newer models require the brake be engaged to start but not shift..
@@SXSGuys okay bro thank you I really appreciate your help. Will reply to this comment if I have more questions. God bless 💪🏽
Thanks that really help 👍🏼
Glad to help!
