So you just used the oem cable that was already on there. The one that you said was hard to shift? If so how did you fix the shifting problems?

If I remember correctly as its been a couple years, we ordered a new oem cable and that did the trick for that machine and actually fit correctly. thanks for watching and taking the time to leave a thoughtful question in the comments. Cheers

Hey bro I’ve been watching your videos, I have a 2016 can am maverick 1000r that I thought had a bad shift cable so I replaced it and also replaced the belt and primary clutch and it will not shift out of reverse. I tried doing it manually and will not shift into neutral, high hear or anything else but park and reverse. Do you think it’s the shift fork?

Appreciate you watching the videos, and I honestly have no clue as I've never done any sort of transmission work on any of these machines, but there are a number of videos out there for diagnosing clutch/transmission issues and I've also found the online forums and service manuals to be a the two best resources for repairing these machines. Sorry I don't have enough experience to give you a more helpful answer, but maybe someone who has been down that road will see this and leave a comment. Appreciate you watching and taking the time to share your experience with a question in the comments. Let us know if you figure it out. Cheers

It's easier to remove the cotter pin and remove the cable from shifter lever and the transmission lever . No need to remove the nut and bolt

you'll have to let us know, if it fits I'm sure it'll be fine, might take modifying it to fit though if your unlucky like I was on that one. Let us know how it turns out and thanks for watching and taking the time to share your experience in the comments, Cheers

I have a 2008 polaris rzr and have changed the shift cable and it still jumps out of gear when pulling off and going down the road , what can solve the problem

not sure, unfortanetly kind of sounds like it might be an internal tranny issue, one way to confirm that might be to disconnect cable entirely, put it in a gear manually and see if it still pops out? if it does you know the adjustment isn't likely to help much? just spit balling here as I've never encountered that exact issue. Good luck and let us know how it plays out. Thanks for watching and taking the time to share your experience in the comments. Cheers

you should give the model number and manufacture of the cable that didn't fit.

Yes Sir, Good Idea. I bought a $15 one I found on Ebay that was suppose to replace the Polaris Part #7081680. The "brand" name in description was "Tocean Aftermarket Part" and I usually don't like to put out negative information about any company, but there is no doubt when it comes to their shift cable, it would not fit in the rear bracket for my RZR. Thank you for watching and commenting with a suggestion. Cheers

I feel like the beer amount needed to complete this job increases at the installation of the new cable, and the set nut not fitting. but there was no updated tool log reflected mid video. this was 5 beers and one aggressive borderline racist shout at cheap Chinese parts job for me
