Thought I'd post this here. I don't have very much social media, and I know Dr Peterson peruses the comments. It'll be the nearest thing to saying thank you to him I can get.
I discovered you...3 and a half-ish years ago now, and my life was falling apart. I was deeply depressed, partly because of a poor childhood, partly because my brain chemistry was out of wack.
Your words have been gestating in my brain for 3 and a half years. Steadily, working their way into making me who I am. A few months ago I finally decided what to do with my life. The Highest Good I want to achieve, the responsibility I want to take on. Developing such a goal at the darkest time in my life did something...and I can say that I am now on my way to achieving my goal. I just took the second step towards achieving my goal, and I'm beginning to realize my full potential. The mountain doesn't seem insurmountable anymore. It's gonna be a lot of hard work, and re-organization, but right now, in this moment, I am thankful for your work.

IN ORDER TO PROVE OR DISPROVE ANY PERSONALITY DIFFERENCES BETWEEN MEN AND WOMEN. THESE PERSONALITY DIFFERENCES ARE LEARNED AS YOU GROW UP. THERE ARE LOTS OF FACTORS THAT SHAPE ONE'S PERSONALITY AND A SPIRITUAL ONE PLAYS A BIG ROLE AND CAN ALSO EFFECT OUR PERSONALITIES. IF YOU ARE YELLED AT BY YOUR MOTHER OR FATHER AND YOU EVENTUALLY ARGUE BACK. IT WILL PROGRAM AND SHAPE YOU AS A INDIVIDUAL. THE BEST WAY IS TO TAKE 2 CHILDREN, ONE A BOY AND ONE A GIRL. AND SUBJECT THEM TO THE SAME ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS AND YOU WILL FIND AFTER YEARS OF THE SAME EXPOSER TO THAT VERY SAME ENVIRONMENT. WILL YIELD THE SAME PERSONALITIES. BUT ON THE OTHER HAND THERE IS ANOTHER FACTOR THAT CAN INFLUENCE US AND CHANGE US. LEGIONS OF THESE ANGELS WERE CAST OUT OF HEAVEN WITH THE DEVIL. THEY GO INSIDE AND OUT OF ALL OF US, ALL THE TIME WITHOUT US BEING AWARE OF IT. AND PUT ALL KINDS OF SUGGESTIONS IN OUR HEAD THAT CAN SHAPE US PROFOUNDLY. RICHARD KUKLINSKI "THE ICEMAN" A KILLER IS A PERFECT EXAMPLE OF HOW DEMONIC DARK FORCES SHAPED HIM INTO A KILLER. WHAT KUKLINSKI DID KILLING PEOPLE WAS A FORM OF VAUDEVILLE ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE DEVIL AND THE DEMONS, WHERE THEY ARE WATCHING A LIVE MOVIE. THIS IS WHY A AWARENESS OF THE EXISTENCE OF THE DEVIL AND THE DEMONS, AND A GOOD GODLY FOUNDATION OF ETHICS AND MORALS AND GOD'S LAWS. LIMITS THE AMOUNT OF INFLUENCE THEY HAVE OVER YOU. TO SUM IT ALL UP. WE ARE EXPOSED TO SO MANY DIFFERENT SITUATIONS THAT NO 2 PERSONALITIES ARE THE SAME. NO MATTER IF YOU ARE A MAN OR WOMEN. A PERSONS PERSONALITY IS A INDIVIDUAL THING UNIQUE TO EACH INDIVIDUAL. IF THAT WASN'T THE CASE. PEOPLE WOULD NEVER ARGUE WITH EACH OTHER. SO TAKE THESE PSYCHOLOGY BOOKS AND THROW THEM RIGHT INTO THE GARBAGE. THE WHORE SATAN AND HER GIRLFRIENDS (LIEUTENANTS) ARE THE ONES BEHIND THESE THEORIES TO BLIND PEOPLE TO THE TRUTH.

Just don't fall for his BS.
Working with personal problems is important. But to deal with social problems, like the ones that causes wide spread depression and leads to drug abuse, is important as well.
Just because things appears to be in a certain way where ever you look doesn't prove that it can't change for the better.
JP has some good ideas on self help, but he fears change. He can't learn from others, he can't handle the idea that he may be wrong and he fear the idea that there are many different perspectives to look at the world from.

Be more specific, otherwise you just sound like how I was describing JP: A close minded fool.
Beyond that he constantly makes statements about fields that he has no education in. Biology is a huge example of that.
He makes sweeping statements about the connection between biology and psychology. But there is a reason why he never publish anything.
JP trying to publish a scientific article about biology would have been a joke. But that doesn't stop him from spreading his BS to lay people while calling it facts.
He usually talk about the evidence that inspired his ideas. The observations that his ideas are based on. But he never talks about testable predictions.
Anyone can look at evidence and misinterpret it, including JP. That is a part of why we have the scientific method exists in the first place.
A lot of people, even respected scientists, looks at the big bang and sees the evidence of god. But that doesn't make god scientific.
No serious scientists gives a fuck about JP's own cognitive bias.
All they care about are models/hypotheses that can be tested to work or proven to be wrong.

If you want me to take his ideas seriously then perhaps show a scientific article published in a reputable journal. Where he goes trough his ideas about inherited consciousness and how certain gender differences are tied to biology.
It would also be nice to hear how he can scientifically argue against transsexualism.
I respect his views just like I respect anyone else's views. If I didn't respect his views then I wouldn't be here arguing against him because he happens to not agree with my views.
I respect his views, which is why I demand scientific foundation for his claims.
If you thought that my previous comment was disrespectful then it was nothing compared to your comment saying only "wrong". Perhaps I did feel a bit offended, who knows. No person is perfect.
What I do not respect is the dishonesty of the way he is spreading his views.
As a scientist he should be ashamed of him self for exploiting his place in academia to spread things he has very little education in.
He goes around reminding people that he is a professor and has a PhD while talking about fields far from his expertise, as if it was his field. This is why people call him a pseudo intellectual.
There is one thing to just speak out about his opinions and another thing to fool people that he is a scientist in the fields he speak of. That is borderline to fraudulent behavior.
When he says "the science says so" he is often lying. The reality is often that he interpreted the evidence that way, just not on a scientific basis. It is a typical example of pseudoscience in progress.

The reason the for the rules is that they are standards on how to conduct oneself. The problem is that we are human, we fail. Have you never failed? He didn’t try to hide his failure either. Hey, I thought about all the things Jordan talks about and I have a point to make that I think he'd like a lot. It is about the meaning of life, God, and freedom of will. So, here it goes:
If you think of personality disorders and disorders of the psyche in general - there is one huge flaw about the concept of freedom of will - namely, that if we had freedom of will (or at least to its fullest) how come people with PDs share patterns of behaviours across their lifetimes and between different people - how come you can sum up how a person can behave and categorize them so well if they have a PD if they had free will? Shouldn't they differ among each other more? How come when someone has a PD they fall into a category and then they have the same reactions, responses, behaviours, across people? This points to the fact that should we have free will - it is far more limited than what we believe. We are far more chained to the way our brain is wired and what it allows us to believe, say, and act.
Taking the point that our freedom of will is (at least) limited - and that a lot of what we have to work with during life is created during childhood (the most vulnerable part of our lives, where we could least be held responsible [E.g. Studies showing that it is easier to avoid having to use strength of will, than to use it in order to change behaviour, which points to freedom of will being mostly innate or built during childhood) and because of genetics, we could hypothesize that a lot of our actions would not be taken as bad or evil from God, due to their origin. Should a person behave like a narcissist - it is not due to their actions. It is due to a bad childhood or genetics. They are "chained" to what their brain tells them and how it interprets the world. This means that God should be a lot more forgiving in accordance to what your genetics or childhood (or PD) makes you behave like.
Taking that point - I looked at what Beauty meant for us as human beings. As you have said - males mostly look for Beauty in females. Thinking about it - it makes no sense logically, unless you think very deeply about it - Beauty is something you are born with. Taking that point - you see that God allowed Beauty to stand as value, and a very high value (being Beautiful could mean you become a billionaire Instagram influencer, for example) I might add, just because Beauty makes no sense. It is purely Human. This point leads us to think that God wanted to show that it is not all about logic, reason, or what should or shouldn't be, since Beauty is never Earned and it brings so much to the people that have it. It just strengthens the point that freedom of will is not everything it should be - there are inequalities that make no sense, some people would get a PD and be evil, just like some people would be born beautiful - it makes no sense if we are all equal. And we are not - is what God would have wanted to show us, I believe.
Through Beauty God shows us that there is more to life than mere mistakes, logical fallacies, what is good, what is bad. Beauty is just given to some, and not others. It is inequality. And through that, God shows that there is something Higher than our everyday understanding of what is right and what is wrong. There is Transcendent value in Beauty, which is nonsensical, it is purely emotional, it is the dichotomous opposite of logic, hard work, what is deserved and what is not. God basically shows us that Beauty is a sign that life is about doing what is Badass (as I would put it), a similar thing is doing the right thing and not mentioning it to anyone - it is just there for the sake of Value. We are all meant to be Badasses (as I would put it) and enjoy life and what follows, since the structure has been set for us.
Hope I explained it well and that Jordan would read this.
Please upvote so that Jordan can see it if you find it interesting or would like him to respond!
(Wanted to post this here as well, since I would like to hear what Jordan thinks about this)

From what I gather from what you're saying, it sounds like it boils down to that the act of giving birth counts as a woman contributing to the balance. But that would assume men qualify children as material- flat out, accross the board.
Or that we are bioloically engendered in the pursuit of having children as a top priority (and not as the byproduct) of the relationship
We might need to have a closer look at what men are giving and the reasons why women would recieve from them (at the fundemental level). I believe passion plays a huge role in everyone's expectations/fantasies and people get swept up in it. The moment it runs dry is when resentment kicks in

I’ve been learning from Jordan Peterson for about three years now & that’s quite a long time! I was in college studying business when I really got into him so I began to read his really dense work (his first book) & I’ve been taking it slowly. Whenever he mentions someone like Nietzsche, Carl Jung, Solzhenitsyn, Viktor Frankl, & many more I begin to read their work also. I must admit I haven’t finished his book (which I’m still working on after some time) but the process has been very influential! As I now begin my career in NYC, I am looking forward to life & because of that I wish to someday thank Jordan Peterson personally.

    • @mementomori5703
      @mementomori5703 4 роки тому

      We all have our 10%
To understand JP ones mind must be totally free and the non verbal communication, connecting dots with debates he has and how those play out, understanding the reasons behind the circumstances intrigue him plus body language.
Firstly his mind works so fast. Around 27 secs you see him say “and so” jump to “one of the things you wanna know” the jumps to “look what’s happened”
That was one illustration where he stopped himself not once but twice - literally in a few short words his mind analyzed how the first two ways of delivering his discussion wouldn’t get the desired result and the look what’s happened going into how the big five traits were unbiased displays the million thoughts he had.
Firstly he never speaks unless he has tested the credibility of any piece and can he discredit it. The randomness of the questions gives him surety and clarity that theirs no hidden agenda or bias that at his core he wants us to look towards ourselves and be accountable for our own lives.
The course allowed us to better understand ourselves and others and his love for us in trying to show he wouldn’t share this without doing proper research.
He also has many people, reporters whatever twist what he says and that’s in the back of his mind so he’s constantly fighting a society that forces him to explain simple sentences. For example with transgenderism he states he’s against a government sensorineural our free speech - reporter will ask oh so you against transgender. No he didn’t say that.
Lastly he’s dying inside. If you look at his health and the times he closes his eyes - puts his hands around his forehead - he’s in pain. To explain this pain - imagine you knew the formula to cure cancer - you are unable to speak and for the sake of the image you don’t have hands or you can’t write. Theirs now means to communicate the formula to save millions - but everyday you have to sit in the doctors rooms when he delivers the painful news.
      He’s screaming inside.

This depends on the culture, religion and ethnic background, even genetics. In some areas the gender differences are big. The roles, behavioral pattern and types of personal worries in Afghanistan today is extremely different between the genders.
At the same time there is the opposite polarity in believing that women should be like men ,and men should be like women. Here, feminism and ultra-liberalism have departed from original and true feminism ,which was to advance women's freedom of choice, not to force them into a non-gender stereotype.

Dr. Peterson growing up in near seclusion from what I learned about the man and understanding the value of the individual through psychology and reading great novelists perspectives is awesome. He never developed an agenda to fill someone else's narrative, his influences work because he can't think of, or find a better direction. It sounds over simplified but I don't feel any other way. He can pick up where he left off because his constitution is strong, his concern of looking for truth will strengthen him, he knows no other way.

  • @davidalexander5161
    @davidalexander5161 4 роки тому

Jordan B. Peterson is the modern mans Aristotle.
The great teacher that those in the far future will look back on as every bit wiser than the rest.
A man with unlikely passion and patience.
Strongly spoken, even when silent, does wisdom come from him like the seasons come with time.
A man who's teaching will be held in the highest of esteem.
Note, that I don't mean who's wisdom or knowledge or arguments or outlook or insight, or who's perceptions will be held high, although will be and very much already are.
But not those things are souley attributed to him, for all that,we have literature.
And any man can learn if he wishes, and in turn see a take on life that is his own and new, greater understanding having come from it.
But his teaching is what I said, because that is what I value the most in him, teaching as in the practical action.
The action of going and changing the direction of his steps, while living, torwards the direction of great nessecity.
Like a Sun, dauntlessly he brought light to unmask the veil before us which is unlike any book that exist can.
It is the will to pick up a book where the genius lies.
And he came to pick men back up.
All knowledge was there encompassing everything before the life of Aristotle and after his life as well, but his wisdom was of teaching and how he taught.
The belief that mattered most being that teaching would bring the good and bring great understanding.
And as such, Aristotle had a profound impact on the schools of sciences based in psychology, physics, sleep, ethics, mathematics, literautre, philosophy, and political sciences and more...
And here in The Age of Information was the great evolved homind of men who needed information of self based on so many things involving the hinderence of men to the point of hindrance on individual self and the hinderence of our learning what we must learn to be, what we are meant to be, by having a beautifully stoic and strong and great vision of what is becoming of and within ourselves as men.. did he step forward to inform..
Now, Dr. Jordan B. Peterson is an incredible academic as well as father, husband, friend, challenger to debate, teacher, and student..
Look at the value people have of him that don't even know him.. this says more than all those people will be able to with words.
"I am indebted to my father for living, but to my teacher for living well" Alexander The Great spoke those great words.
And all that is great echoes through history.
So can a great many say and feel the same with the great teacher, Peterson, so can I quote the words Alexander spoke in great valuation with for his own teacher, Aristotle.
Peterson is the Aristotle of Sapience.
I have him to thanks for beginning and because of him, myself to thank, for seeking him and listening.
I hope to hear from the man himself soon, many of us do, and hear from him wellness and vitality will see us reflect it wherever we are, whatever time it is that we see him back, we will all be just as happy and excited to see our teacher Peterson.

I partly agree. Culture, media and upbringing mostly widen the differences between women and men. There are neurological and testable differences, but some women are better at what are considered to be male tasks, and some men are better at culturally-approved female tasks. As some commenters note, Dr Peterson polarises the scientific community, but he is aware of various scientific publications. It's interesting to listen to him, but there are other educated voices out there. I recommend reading and listening to as much as possible.
