Simple fix is to put the cot under your tent floor. No damage to the tent floor by having the feet outside the tent

I always "roll" on and off of it. Just seems like it puts the least amount of stress on a single point! Not saying its how you should do it, but i've had mine for like 5 years and weigh 220lbs and no rips yet! Love this thing! *edit* I have a thermarest pad which I've had for years, I use it in conjunction with it. this rolls up into the thermarest pad just fine.
I have one. I superglued all the cross rods and feet together. Why? It’s not a light item for “light, or ultralight” backpacking. I use it for car camping. More specifically, it is in Mongolia with much of my other gear. There you typically have a 4x4 cart your gear around weather you are tripping around by vehicle, hiking or biking. If you too use it in this way I recommend you do the same if setup and breakdown, and or the beeeping rods coming out of the feet drives you crazy. Yes that small feet are a problem in a tent. Glue some foam pads on the feet too. I do recommend the cot despite me preferring to modify it. Hopefully one day this virus will get lost in the wilderness and we can get on with life. Ie I can return to Mongolia, my gear and my summers of fun there.
Just use a floorless tent. Saves a lot of weight too
It seems like the Helinox Lite Cot is a better engineered product.
The only real exception is if you are taller than 6' or you need the width of the Thermarest large.
Had it, for my Super Tenere, hated it too much BS and parts after a long day and in the morning didn't like playing "lego's" twice a day really messed w/my chill. Getting a Helinox Cot lite, yah it's bigger but way less "stuff".

And, looking at this video, I agree witu you: Too many things, too many step, gotta be careful getting on and off the thermarest cot, nah, that's too stressful. Gonna keep going to helinox. In agreement with you.
Great vid, but I've tried this and even with a "light" height to weight ratio, it quickly stretches causing you to bottom out.
It does. And the holes for the feet stretch and tear.

The foot contact area seems to be the only concern for most. Therm-a-rest sells a Cot Coaster kit but you have to buy TWO kits (they are in packs of Qty (6) for some reason) to do one cot and at $30CDN/pack that is ridiculous for some chunks of rubber.
It worked but still caused damage to the bottom of my tent. This upcoming riding season I'm switching back to an inflatable pad

I was waiting for you to show the feet - that I got the impression that you had made! I have this cot and am temporarily using bits of carpet, held on with Velcro but it’s not ideal.
i used an adhesive felt from one of those universal chair leg padding kits

I have just searched for 'universal chair leg padding kit' and a whole range of things came up, but none really look like they would work. Because I am in the U.K. it may return different results. Is there any way of seeing pictures of the product, and how you've attached them, please?
I use a cheap 'Kiwi bed',slept on it in a car for 3mths solid,and probably about 5 days a year since 2017, starting to tear now, but it was about 10% of the cost of that...not impressed! I use a small Therm-a-rest mat in the 'Kiwi bed' saves the cold coming up from the ground, which I'd rather be off completely...I think Vango do the same one I have, I'll be replacing it with what I have,for a fraction of the cost!

The price fluctuates frequently. If you are patient you can get a better deal. My suggestion would be to visit "camel camel camel"
Thermarest went with the moon shape legs... the original inventor at luxurylite had circular legs.
Wouldn't you need an inflatable mattress on top in cold weather?
Likely a good idea. There is a reflective layer but it has a pretty low R value
It bogles my mind how could they design such pointy legs that can puncture your tent floor.. for $220 they need to have better legs.
Thanks for the thorough review. It seems a little too finicky for my taste. I'll get the FE sport, which is a cheaper version of the overpriced Helinox

I wouldn't buy it again. Compact cots are a gimic. I used it for a season and it went into storage, I went back to an inflatable.
The Helinox cot one is much better than this cot, and it is very much fast to install and the take it apart. Helinox is much better in many ways. You should look into it.

I had the chance to test one for two nights. It’s very light and because of that it is also very fragile. I had to ‘roll’ on it, just 1 inch from te ground if I’m on it. The feet do damage the bottom of your expensive tent. It’s a no go…
