The older I get, the more I think I need to switch to something like this, although I think I’d use a pad on top year around. Looking forward to the full camp video some week.

being that little bit higher up for getting in and out makes life a bit easier too.

@@CampLifeBushcraft it is not about being old it about "recharge efficiency" younger me could have a nap on bare ground with no consequences, it is more about better consistent rest in any condition, coy can throw cot in van guesthouse tent, anywhere and not get punctured as air mat and so on, being older is tot always of being weaker it is about "you can still do dumb stuff but now you dont have to cause you know better ways"

As you know i have the helinox one of those and you definitely need something between sleeping bag and top of the cot otherwise its like a hammock with no underblanket . Even in summer months i find them a little chilly to use without a matt /underblanket.brrrr 😂

I like these designs....but. I'd prefer a higher off the ground one. Like the onetigris version. Anything this low...I may aswell just sleep on a thermarest mat.

Like the idea, putting it together in the other 3 (damp) seasons might be a bit mucky with having have it face down on the ground. I guess could take a tarp.

Would a person need to put something under the feet of the bed, to protect the tent floor? Take care. It looks great

No I don't think so. The bottom is curved. I didn't have any issues myself.

Hoping to get into some hot tent camping soon. Been looking at cots and that seems to fit the bill. Have you still got it and still use it?

      Yes and yes.
I obviously don't use it all the time. But just before Christmas my wife had covid and I moved into my living room. Slept on it with a sleeping pad for a week.
I've used it camping probably 3 times too.

G'day Dan, I like it, I always prefer a cot to a mat these days; first sign of old age in a camper perhaps .....
Yep in cooler months it pays to have something in between, I throw down a doubled over blanket and use an unzipped bag/quilt or another blanket on top. Perfect for car camping, though for pack carry it all becomes too much.
Since you have good quality bags, I expect you'll be ok with one of those alone, but I'd be interested to hear if you still find it chilly from underneath, or hopefully not, and in the absence of a hot tent, it'd be prudent to take a "floored" tent I reckon.
    Cheers Duke.

I think outside of summer a mat on top would be needed.
I think I'd only use it with the hot tent as I'm happy just on a mat. but without a floor I'd carry this instead of a chair and ground sheet. so it would balance out in terms of pack weight.

At 62 I only truck camp anymore. Weight is not an issue.

Is the tent a Backwoods Bungalow?

Interesting... not a winner for winter though if you've gotta take a mat as well.

I have it in mind for winter personally. inside the hot tent there is no ground sheet. I'm planning the cot to be my seat and bed. no chair or ground sheet required that way.

150% crap. Owned one and returned it. It well brake on the locking side sooner or latter. The plastic cant hold up to use. The other side when you roll over well fall down. Find another type of cot instead.
